bdf420bdbf Redo interrupt establishment, based in part on work on the 
[nisimura-pmax-wscons] branch and suggestions from Toru Nisimura:
 - Remove bogus tc_slot_info[] name for interrupt handling array
   and replace with simplified struct intrhand  intrtab[] array.
 - Add intr_establish() and intr_disestablish() function pointers
   to struct platform and initialise this in each model-specific
   initialisation, and remove global tc_enable_interrupt function
   pointer.
 - Remove model-specific function declarations from ibus/ibusvar.h.
This is functionally identical to the current scheme, and doesn't
yet try to commonise interrupt establishment by bus type as the
[nisimura-pmax-wscons] branch does.

Also, move cpuspeed variable from autoconf.c to machdep.c

cf055ef630 Change the implementation of ms(4) polling to use timeout(9) software 
interrupt in order to eliminate glitches on MPU interrupt levels.
I don't know whether this is a good solution, but it does work.

dbb0c078a5 - Do not lower interrupt level at clock interrupt. 
The original code lowers level 6 to 4, and if a
  clock interrupt occurs in splzs (or similar) the
  system may be in unpredictable state.
  To do such a hack correctly, checking the original priority
  and duplicated clock interrupts would be required.
  For now, just disable the hack.

- Do not use clock interrupt for ms polling.

56b8bc14b4 -catch zeroed descriptors and skip nodes with no valid ressources, 
needed to deal with disabled nodes
-Parse "fixed io descriptors". Their use in nonsense in principle
 because 10-bit decoding is implied. Hope this is not real...
-Tolerate mismatches between node size and actually used space
 as long as the used size is smaller than the buffer size. There
 is at least one broken BIOS which reports node sizes larger than
 the used one, and windows obviously doesn't complain...

67fd1bd089 add clean and distclean targets. Clean cleans out build-generated bits. 
Distclean does that, plus removes other files windows is likely to
generate to make things unclean (.opt workspace options files, as well
as automatically updated versions of .dsp/.dsw files).  This means
that if you distclean: your workspace options may be reset to the defaults
(hey, you did tell it to clean everything out!), and any modifications
that you incorrectly made to the .dsp/.dsw files w/o using the templates
and UNIX-based auto-generation will be clobbered.

b2236223c9 applied patch from "Christian Limpach" <chris@Nice.CH>: 
I've fixed the problem that's been keeping me from using anything newer than
   1.4.1 now.  I tracked down the problem checkin, it's the big reorg of
   nextdma.c between 1.19 and 1.20.  It didn't introduce a new bug but it
   activated a check which wasn't activated before.  It's the
   is-the-limit-in-the-right-window-check which was ifdeffed before because
   some DMA-regs would sometimes have strange values.  I think I've fixed the
   DMA-reg stuff for now:   at the end of nextdma_intr, when the csr is poked
   to make DMA do something, I think the check for the ENABLE bit introduces a
   race condition.  I fixed this by unconditionally setting DMACSR_SETENABLE,
   this seems to work and also makes the code more readable.  I've also tried
   setting DMACSR_SETSUPDATE unconditionally and this also works well, but I
   don't know what it implies.  Unless you have reasons to not set SUPDATE all
   the time, I'd suggest making this change as well, it makes the code cleaner
   and faster...
I've tested this patch and it does stop the panics, although I don't think setting
SUPDATE all the tima as he suggests is a good idea.  The "SUPDATE" bit implies
a single update (i.e. the end of a dma chain.)

ce9a9c483e taking evil to the next level: config files, templates, and scripts 
to automatically generate project (.dsp) and workspace (.dsw) files
from configuration scripts for the bits that have to be built
on windows.  you build by saying 'make winfiles' here in stand,
then check in (on UNIX).  The versions that windows sees have to have
CR-NL line termination, so for proper use with samba the generated
files contain CRs and must be checked in on UNIX (NOT from Windows
CVS).

8920fc9215 Rework of kernel I/O & memory mappings along with new implementation of 
bus_space_map for PCI memory.
The mapping of system devices and I/O space has been shuffled to place them
at the top of memory leaving a larger contiguous chunk between the kernel
itself and the I/O mappings for the kernel VM area. This allows support
for kernel VM areas > 48MB.
The 144MB fixed mapping of early PCI memory space has been removed and a
new version of the bus_space_map() function has been implemented to map
PCI memory into the kernel VM area as required rather than using the fixed
mapping.
A mapping of the first 1MB of PCI memory is maintained for ISA memory
accesses and accesses to the VGA memory.

3a852a52dc Hmmm... The pc532 will only ever have one ncr device without major 
hardware rework, so it doesn't need to be listed as ncr*.  However,
this could also be thought of as covering up a (new?) bug in the
probe/attach code that has recently decided that there are at least
ncr0 and ncr1 with the same interrupt and address mappings.  So
this change is just to let people build kernels that don't panic
at boot time...

There, is that a long winded commit message or what?

62645f43ba Add support for a boot argument podule?=mmmmpppp to enable the manufacturer 
and product IDs for a podule to be overriden. The IDs are specified in hex.
A value of "ffff" means disable and replaces the podule?.disable option.
This allows podules whose IDs have been changed e.g. by PowerROMs to still
have the correct driver attached.
Based on my original patch but tided up and debugged by Stephen Hobbs.

d14968078a Write part of the y2k fix. 
This is not strictly necessary, as
- at least for the Ricoh chip in the A3000 and A4000, as those chips' Y10
  registers happily continue to count up from 0xA if manually incremented
  past 0x9.
- the Amiga ROMs and "setclock" commands seem to interpret 0xA 0x? like
  200?, etc.

However,
- the Amiga setclock writes the modulo 10 value into the chips
- the chip docs of both chips, including the Y2K information of their
  manufacturers, only refer to the range 0-9
- the chips increment from 9 to 0

So we better conform to this, to avoid unpleasant surprises.

a1c67d1d61 Renamed a temporary variable in pmap_enter() that conflicted with the 
name of the new 'flags' argument, added as part of the new pmap_enter() API.
Added a comment which explains why there are still sun3x-specific flags
being passed in the unused bits of the physical address, and how these flags
are independent of the new 'flags' argument.

56b2a5174c Add a bootinfo facility, as is used on i386 and pmax, ports. We expect 
the bootinfo to be located in the first page of kernel text (which has
been zero-filled for a Very Long Time to allow us to unmap KVA 0); the
boot loader will place it there after loading the kernel image.

a15eb6dc13 An interrupt handler may change adbInCount underneath us, so qualify the declaration 
with volatile.  The bug didn't show its face until more agressive
optimization showed up, apparently a result of the last egcs upgrade.
(The interrupt handling changes from June have certainly also played
a part.)  Thanks to Ken'ichi Ishizaka for discovering the problem.

48eb7986d4 - If we call px_init() at attach time, then we're not the console, so don't 
set the console arg to 1. Noted by mhitch.
- In px_init(), don't compute pxi_fontscale if we're not the console,
  since we don't have a font in the first place. This is a relic from
  when the driver was converted to use 'struct wsdisplay_font'.

Should fix crashes if a px board is installed and isn't the console.

781149bb12 Handle the case where PCI dense memory and PCI sparse memory don't 
overlap; don't require allocation from the dense extent if the PCI
memory address isn't mapped into dense space.

Also, make sure to return an error if a liner mapping is requested
and dense space is not available (not just not requested).

d5e85e61cf Fixes PR#8836. Some changes made by somebody else were a tad incomplete so 
configuring w/o SIO broke compilation. I forget why, but there was at one
point (and may still be) a dependency between SIO and EISA. This change
just makes things compile sensibly again. It may make no sense to build
a kernel w/o sio in this case. I can't test this conveniently because I
haven't got a 4100 with a video card in it at the moment.

0aa48d5c55 New delay(), more carefully coded: 
- Use explicit assembly; don't want the compiler optimizing things too
  much here.
- Subtract 2 for each iteration of the loop, rather than 3.  The loop
  consists of only 2 instructions (even the C version compiled to a
  loop of 2 instructions).

The latter change has squashed a fairly annoying timing bug in the
mii_bitbang module as used by the `ex' driver on my AlphaStation 500.

XXX delay() should maybe be rewritten again, to use the rpcc instruction.

169af5c51b Add a dummy read just after enabling receiver interrupt. 
If the receiver already has datum, no further arrival of
data is possible and no interrupts will occur.
This change fixes problem that pressing key during boot

3328370469 Return the blocksize-rounded-up length (which was the size malloc()d 
anyway).  The resultant pwrite() is now a multiple of the blocksize and
doesn't fail on a pmax with the MI SCSI driver.

Problem noticed by Tohru Nishimura.

b678bca85b Allow loading of kernels larger than (16-1)M. 
XXX This is a stopgap fix which can be pulled up to 1.4.x. It only replaces
the arbitrary 16M boundary by an arbitrary 128M boundary. A clean solution
would need changes to the mi loadfile.c parts.
