8905770b27 compiler.h: replace QEMU_NORETURN with G_NORETURN
G_NORETURN was introduced in glib 2.68, fallback to G_GNUC_NORETURN in

Note that this attribute must be placed before the function declaration

e03b56863d Replace config-time define HOST_WORDS_BIGENDIAN
Replace a config-time define with a compile time condition
define (compatible with clang and gcc) that must be declared prior to
its usage. This avoids having a global configure time define, but also
prevents from bad usage, if the config header wasn't included before.

This can help to make some code independent from qemu too.

gcc supports __BYTE_ORDER__ from about 4.6 and clang from 3.2.

8cd0e66353 target/mips: Fix address space range declaration on n32
This bug is probably lurking there for so long, I cannot even git-blame
my way to the commit first introducing it.

Anyway, because n32 is also TARGET_MIPS64, the address space range
cannot be determined by looking at TARGET_MIPS64 alone. Fix this by only
declaring 48-bit address spaces for n64, or the n32 user emulation will
happily hand out memory ranges beyond the 31-bit limit and crash.

Confirmed to make the minimal reproducing example in the linked issue
behave.

MSAIR bits 17 and 18 are "reserved" per the spec revision 1.12,
so mask them out, and set MSAIR=0x0140 for the Loongson-3A4000

Per the "MIPS Architecture Extension: nanoMIPS32 DSP TRM" rev 0.04,

  The value of ac selects an accumulator numbered from 0 to 3.
  When ac=0, this refers to the original HI/LO register pair of the

ef00cd4a22 target/mips: Fix single stepping
As per an ancient comment in mips_tr_translate_insn about the
expectations of gdb, when restarting the insn in a delay slot
we also re-execute the branch. Which means that we are
expected to execute two insns in this case.

This has been broken since 8b86d6d258, where we forced max_insns
to 1 while single-stepping. This resulted in an exit from the
translator loop after the branch but before the delay slot is
translated.

Increase the max_insns to 2 for this case. In addition, bypass
the end-of-page check, for when the branch itself ends the page.

JALR (Jump And Link Register) takes 3: $rs, $rd and $hint.

Commit 6af0bf9c7c added their processing into decode_opc() as:

    case 0x08 ... 0x09: /* Jumps */
        gen_compute_branch(ctx, op1 | EXT_SPECIAL, rs, rd, sa);

having both opcodes handled in the same function: gen_compute_branch.

Per JR encoding, both $rd and $hint ('sa') are decoded as zero.

Later this code got extracted to decode_opc_special(),
commit 7a387fffce used definitions instead of magic values:

    case OPC_JR ... OPC_JALR:
        gen_compute_branch(ctx, op1, rs, rd, sa);

Finally commit 0aefa33318 moved OPC_JR out of decode_opc_special,
to a new 'decode_opc_special_legacy' function:

Since JR is now handled individually, it is pointless to decode
and pass it unused arguments. Replace them by simple zero value
to avoid confusion with this opcode.

d859a77dbd target/mips: Rewrite UHI errno_mips() using switch statement
Linking on Haiku OS fails:

  /boot/system/develop/tools/bin/../lib/gcc/x86_64-unknown-haiku/8.3.0/../../../../x86_64-unknown-haiku/bin/ld:
  error: libqemu-mips-softmmu.fa.p/target_mips_tcg_sysemu_mips-semi.c.o(.rodata) is too large (0xffff405a bytes)
  /boot/system/develop/tools/bin/../lib/gcc/x86_64-unknown-haiku/8.3.0/../../../../x86_64-unknown-haiku/bin/ld:
  final link failed: memory exhausted
  collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status

This is because the host_to_mips_errno[] uses errno as index,
for example:

  static const uint16_t host_to_mips_errno[] = {
      [ENAMETOOLONG] = 91,
      ...

and Haiku defines [*] ENAMETOOLONG as:

   12 /* Error baselines */
   13 #define B_GENERAL_ERROR_BASE              INT_MIN
   ..
   22 #define B_STORAGE_ERROR_BASE              (B_GENERAL_ERROR_BASE + 0x6000)
  ...
  106 #define B_NAME_TOO_LONG                   (B_STORAGE_ERROR_BASE + 4)
  ...
  211 #define ENAMETOOLONG                      B_TO_POSIX_ERROR(B_NAME_TOO_LONG)

so the array ends up beeing indeed too big.

Since POSIX errno can't be use as indexes on Haiku,
rewrite errno_mips() using a switch statement.

and only a tcg/tcg-op.c uses it:

therefore it is pointless to include "trace-tcg.h" in each target

d507663151 target/mips: Add declarations for generic TCG helpers
We want to extract the microMIPS ISA and Code Compaction ASE to
new compilation units.

We will first extract this code as included source files (.c.inc),
then make them new compilation units afterward.

The following methods are going to be used externally:

  micromips_translate.c.inc:1778:   gen_ldxs(ctx, rs, rt, rd);
  micromips_translate.c.inc:1806:   gen_align(ctx, 32, rd, rs, ...

  mips16e_translate.c.inc:444:      gen_addiupc(ctx, ry, offset, ...

To avoid too much code churn, it is simpler to declare these
prototypes in "translate.h" now.

744c72a837 cpu: Rename CPUClass vmsd -> legacy_vmsd
Quoting Peter Maydell [*]:

  There are two ways to handle migration for
  a CPU object:

  (1) like any other device, so it has a dc->vmsd that covers
  migration for the whole object. As usual for objects that are a
  subclass of a parent that has state, the first entry in the
  VMStateDescription field list is VMSTATE_CPU(), which migrates
  the cpu_common fields, followed by whatever the CPU's own migration
  fields are.

  (2) a backwards-compatible mechanism for CPUs that were
  originally migrated using manual "write fields to the migration
  stream structures". The on-the-wire migration format
  for those is based on the 'env' pointer (which isn't a QOM object),
  and the cpu_common part of the migration data is elsewhere.

  cpu_exec_realizefn() handles both possibilities:

  * for type 1, dc->vmsd is set and cc->vmsd is not,
    so cpu_exec_realizefn() does nothing, and the standard
    "register dc->vmsd for a device" code does everything needed

  * for type 2, dc->vmsd is NULL and so we register the
    vmstate_cpu_common directly to handle the cpu-common fields,
    and the cc->vmsd to handle the per-CPU stuff

  You can't change a CPU from one type to the other without breaking
  migration compatibility, which is why some guest architectures
  are stuck on the cc->vmsd form. New targets should use dc->vmsd.

To avoid new targets to start using type (2), rename cc->vmsd as
cc->legacy_vmsd. The correct field to implement is dc->vmsd (the
DeviceClass one).

See also commit b170fce3dd ("cpu: Register VMStateDescription
through CPUState") for historic background.

8074365fc7 target/mips: Add simple user-mode mips_cpu_tlb_fill()
tlb_helper.c's #ifdef'ry hides a quite simple user-mode

Copy the user-mode implementation (without #ifdef'ry) to

0debf1400c target/mips: Merge do_translate_address into cpu_mips_translate_address
Currently cpu_mips_translate_address() calls raise_mmu_exception(),
and do_translate_address() calls cpu_loop_exit_restore().

This API split is dangerous, we could call cpu_mips_translate_address
without returning to the main loop.

As there is only one caller, it is trivial (and safer) to merge
do_translate_address() back to cpu_mips_translate_address().
