44241a1e56 - Added support for AVX and AVX2 instructions emulation, to enable configure 
with --enable-avx option. When compiled in, AVX still has to be enabled
    using .bochsrc CPUID option. AVX2 FMA instructions still not implemented.

  - Added support for Bit Manipulation Instructions (BMI) emulation. The BMI
    instructions support can be enabled using .bochsrc CPUID option.

76c11e1a40 - Configure option --enable-acpi is deprecated and should not be used anymore. 
The ACPI support is always automatically compiled in if PCI is compiled in.
    The ACPI still could be disabled using .bochsrc 'plugin_ctrl' option.

Updated CHANGES and docs as well.

8c32359615 The VBE display extension is now a part of the Bochs core. The configure option 
--enable-vbe is now deprecated and the symbols BX_SUPPORT_VBE and
BX_SUPPORT_PCIVGA have been removed. To enable VBE support, the bochsrc option
"vga: extension=" must be set to "vbe". If PCI is present, you can assign the
"pcivga" device to a PCI slot.

dec6bcaf73 - started separation of sb16 and lowlevel sound module code. The first step is 
an own header file for the basic sound output class. When ready we should
  have a separate 'soundmod' plugin that could be used by other soundcard
  implementations.

8b46dcfc0b - added parameter to control the floppy media write protection. This is based on 
the SF patch #1539417, but rewritten from scratch (patch too old). Differences
  to the original version:
  * internal parameter name "readonly"
  * update parameter if floppy image is readonly
  * wxWidgets support

* "pipe-server" (win32 only): It makes bochs a named pipe server so other
     application can communicate with it using pipes API. Useful e.g. for remote
     kernel debugging.

071c5c1a26 A lot of changes but everything is really trivial. 
Make save/restore default feature, the configure option for save/restore removed from configure script and save/restore made available forever. All code now assume it is exists. Bochs save/restore tree previosly called "save_restore" renamed to "bochs" tree and it will be havily used everywhere, starting from save/restore and ending by various bochs debugger functions. I am going to rework debugger code to get rid of debug CPU access functions and use this "bochs" param tree instead

f8c3968d42 Changes list made after CVS service crash: 
- Fixed critical bug in CPU code added with one of the prev commits
  - Disasm support for SSE4
  - Rename PNI->SSE3 everywhere in the code
  - Correctly decode, disassemble and execute 'XCHG R8, rAX' x86-64 instruction
  - Correctly decode, disassemble and execute multi-byte NOP 0F F1 opcode
  - Fixed ENTER and LEAVE instructions in x86-64 mode
  - Added ability to turn ON instruction trace, only GUI support is missed.
    Instruction trace could be enabled if Bochs was compiled with disasm
  - More changes Bit32u -> bx_phy_address
  - Complete preliminary implementation of SMM in Bochs, SMI is still PANICs but if you press 'continue' everything should work OK
  - Small code cleanup
  - Update CHANGES and user docs

1d4fa8b327 Available back ability to use eip register as source in 'set reg = <expr>' cmd. 
Setting the eip register still not available (deliberatelly).
I don't want to enable it util I find some easy interface to do it.
I don't want to allow setting of part of RIP register using 'set eip=<expr>' and leave the upper part unchanged ....

Remove unused test registres from debugger
Fix compilation error in cpu.h
Change trace-on/trace-off commands. Make one 'trace' command with usage of 'trace on/trace off'

e0f02463f9 - the step delay for the recalibrate and seek commands is now calculated from the 
number of steps to do, the step rate time and the date rate
- the option floppy_command_delay is obsolete now, since all floppy delays are
  based on the hardware specs. The usage of this option caused a warning now.

You can now choose for each disk on the ata interfaces the
  disk mode, between :
    - flat : one file flat layout
    - concat : multiple files layout
    - external : developer's specific, through a C++ class
    - dll : developer's specific, through a DLL
    - sparse : stackable, commitable, rollbackable
    - vmware3 : vmware3 disk support
    - undoable : flat file with commitable redolog
    - growable : growing file
    - volatile : flat file with volatile redolog
    - z-undoable : gziped flat file with commitable redolog
    - z-volatile : gziped flat file with volatile redolog
  A new "bxcommit" utility can merge commitable redologs to
  flat images.

05f350c61b - build bochsdoc.tar.gz in a separate make target. upload the whole tar.gz 
with scp and then log in and gunzip it on the shell server.  This speeds
  up "make webinst" quite a bit.
- add "make dl_docs" which downloads a bochsdoc.tar.gz from the web site.
  This will be used to grab the rendered documentation for platforms that
  do not have docbook tools.  (Most don't.)
- stop installing "README" because depending on where you put it, it can
  overwrite the main README.

30b8b855c5 - fix the credits. People who have written significant amounts are listed as 
authors.  If someone has contributed a section, we would give them credit in
  that section.  If they write enough sections, we can take out the
  section-by-section credits and list them as an author.

4f4e6a2fa8 - add configure option --enable-docbook. If it is turned on, then during 
make install it will build the docbook documentation and install it
  into $(prefix)/share/doc/bochs.  If it is not specified, then it will
  be enabled only if the program "docbook2html" is found in your path.
- this completes [ 652957 ] install docbook docs instead of HTML

f50e07e431 - add prefix and docdir, so that they are substituted by configure 
- only rebuild docbook stuff when the source is newer
- add install target
- allow $SFUSER environment variable to define the sf username, instead of
  hardcoding the user->sfuser translations in the makefile.
- now alldocs is called index.html
- add dist-clean target

1812808d82 - get rid of bochs-docs which didn't work anyway 
- move DOC-linux.html into the docbook in a section called "Quick Start for
  Linux Users", and removed all references to the DOC-linux file that I could
  find.  Most of the text has been moved into the Linux RPM section.  Parts
  that did not fit into the docbook are now in doc/docbook/misc.txt.
- put vga.pcf into INSTALL_LIST_X11 so that it's only installed when
  you configure with --with-x11.
- transfer section on VGA font installation from docs-html into user guide
- remove RCS id from screen shots within user guide, since they are changed
  to the revision info of user.dbk.

94d9071c1e - update section on VC++ builds. 
- it used to list the options that were enabled in .conf.win32-vcpp, but I
  removed it.  It was out of date, and it's unlikely to stay in sync
  with the file even if I fix it now.
