Init progress bar step/position in ProgressBar::create.

Specify WS_EX_CLIENTEDGE style for the progress bar, an empty gray

there's a progress bar there. While here, make it PBS_SMOOTH, it
looks nicer that way.

manu 834aafd284 Rework Mach exception and Darwin's ptrace. gdb is now able to attach a
remote process. This new implementation also passes all the test programs
I've written so far.

- When exceptions come from traps, no UNIX signal should evet be sent.
- Add a lock to ensure a debugger handles only one exception at a time
- Use a structure to hold flavor and behavior in exception ports, instead
of stuffing the two argument into an int.
- Implement new Mach services: thread_suspend, thread_resume and thread_abort
- Implement Darwin's ptrace PT_ATTACHEXC and PT_THUPDATE commands
- Handle NULL second argument correctly in sigprocmask.
- One mistake in the last commit (darwin_tracesig prototype)

manu ffb3de5522 Move the sigfilter hook to a more adequate location, and rename it to better
fit what it does.

The softsignal feature is used in Darwin to trace processes. When the
traced process gets a signal, this raises an exception. The debugger will
receive the exception message, use ptrace with PT_THUPDATE to pass the
signal to the child or discard it, and then it will send a reply to the
exception message, to resume the child.

With the hook at the beginnng of kpsignal2, we are in the context of the
signal sender, which can be the kill(1) command, for instance. We cannot
afford to sleep until the debugger tells us if the signal should be
delivered or not.

Therefore, the hook to generate the Mach exception must be in the traced
process context. That was we can sleep awaiting for the debugger opinion
about the signal, this is not a problem. The hook is hence located into
issignal, at the place where normally SIGCHILD is sent to the debugger,
whereas the traced process is stopped. If the hook returns 0, we bypass
thoses operations, the Mach exception mecanism will take care of notifying
the debugger (through a Mach exception), and stop the faulting thread.

manu 54db0e51ad Split sys_lwp_suspend, just like sys_lwp_unsuspend is split. We get

pk d1c155d15c Some older devices do not understand the `disable block descriptors' bit in
the mode sense request. So fall back on mode sense data including a block
descriptor section.

XXX this applies to the `page 4' case. The `page 5' didn't consider the
possible presence of a block descriptor at all, though it did allow the
device to return one. While that's fixed now, the `page 5' mode sense
does not use the `disable block descriptors' bit.

I'm not sure we should bother with this at all..

exactly twice by me) which causes the code at the top of copyin which
word-aligns the destination pointer to copy more bytes than necessary,
resulting in an alignment fault later on.

The bug is difficult to reproduce, but as far as I can tell it seems
to be as a result of the condition codes being corrupted, possibly
following a page fault caused by the first ldrbt/strb instructions.
The subsequent ldr<cc>bt/str<cc>b instructions then _always_ execute.
I can't think of any obvious reason why this would happen, though.

jonathan 9c1a5c5570 Second part of hashed IP_reassembly changes:
When under pressure for mbufs or we have too many fragments in the IP
reassembly queue, drop half of all fragments. This multiplicative-drop
strategy ensures we return to a healthy state, even under borderline
denial-of-service from extremely lossy NFS-over-UDP peers.
The multiplicative-drop phase currently drops 50% of fragments, but
has pre-placed support for implementing drop-fractions other than 50%

The threshhold for the `drop-half' phase is the new variable,
ip_maxfrags which is calculated as nmbclusters/4.

ip_input.c now keeps ip_nmbclusters, a cached copy of nmbclusters.
Before using limits derived from nmbclusters, we check if nmbclusters
and ip_nmclusters are equal. If not, we recompute Ip parameters
derived from nmbclusters. Based on a suggestion by Jason Thorpe.
ip_maxfrags is currently auto-recalcuated.

The counters ip_nfrags and ip_nfragpacketsr are now declared static
and uninitialized (bss), to discourage tampering with them.

sekiya c0996cb32c Remove preprocessor conditional MIPS3_L2CACHE_ABSENT, which was rendered
superfluous by Tsutsui-san's previous changes.

(this change differs slightly from that posted to port-mips@, as
mips_flushcache_allpvh should be compiled iff MIPS3_PLUS is defined and
MIPS3_L2CACHE_ABSENT should be removed from files.mips as well)

martin 119a91826a If compiling for JavaStations, modify kernal VA layout to not conflict
with the PROM. From Valeriy E. Ushakov. This is a hack, but as long as
we don't have a way to arrange for a proper VA layout on this machines
(i.e. beyound the PROM) it is needed.

martin 808a75e1c5 Use the new split hard/softinterrupt handlers to avoid running mouse/keyboard
input functions to be run at IPL_SERIAL (instead of the intended IPL_TTY).
2003-12-12 14:31:39 +00:00
martin 9489d737cd In parallel to the interrupt handler pckbcintr provide two functions
pckbcintr_hard and pckbcintr_soft, which, together, do the same as
pckbcintr. The first is called from the interrupt handler, the second
from a softinterrupt at arbitrary protection level (lower or equal to
IPL_TTY). They pass data via a small ringbuffer.

The new functions are intended for platforms that, due to
hardware/firmware restrictions are not able to make pckbcintr called at
IPL_TTY, like Krups javastations. Using the monolithic pckbcintr on
these plattforms leads to the input handlers for the slot data to be
run at elevated priority, causing various race conditions.
