The bitmap need only hold 15 bits; bitmap is over-complicated.
We can simplify operations quite a bit with plain logical ops.
The introduction of SVE_VQ_POW2_MAP eliminates the need for
looping in order to search for powers of two. Simply perform
the logical ops and use count leading or trailing zeros as
required to find the result.

The FEAT_DoubleFault extension adds the following:
* All external aborts on instruction fetches and translation table
walks for instruction fetches must be synchronous. For QEMU this
is already true.
* SCR_EL3 has a new bit NMEA which disables the masking of SError
interrupts by PSTATE.A when the SError interrupt is taken to EL3.
For QEMU we only need to make the bit writable, because we have no
sources of SError interrupts.
* SCR_EL3 has a new bit EASE which causes synchronous external
aborts taken to EL3 to be taken at the same entry point as SError.
(Note that this does not mean that they are SErrors for purposes
of PSTATE.A masking or that the syndrome register reports them as
SErrors: it just means that the vector offset is different.)
* The existing SCTLR_EL3.IESB has an effective value of 1 when
SCR_EL3.NMEA is 1. For QEMU this is a no-op because we don't need
different behaviour based on IESB (we don't need to do anything to
ensure that error exceptions are synchronized).
So for QEMU the things we need to change are:
* Make SCR_EL3.{NMEA,EASE} writable
* When taking a synchronous external abort at EL3, adjust the
vector entry point if SCR_EL3.EASE is set
* Advertise the feature in the ID registers

Currently we give all the v7-and-up CPUs a PMU with 4 counters. This
means that we don't provide the 6 counters that are required by the
Arm BSA (Base System Architecture) specification if the CPU supports
the Virtualization extensions.
Instead of having a single PMCR_NUM_COUNTERS, make each CPU type
specify the PMCR reset value (obtained from the appropriate TRM), and
use the 'N' field of that value to define the number of counters
provided.
This means that we now supply 6 counters instead of 4 for:
Cortex-A9, Cortex-A15, Cortex-A53, Cortex-A57, Cortex-A72,
Cortex-A76, Neoverse-N1, '-cpu max'
This CPU goes from 4 to 8 counters:
A64FX
These CPUs remain with 4 counters:
Cortex-A7, Cortex-A8
This CPU goes down from 4 to 3 counters:
Cortex-R5
Note that because we now use the PMCR reset value of the specific
implementation, we no longer set the LC bit out of reset. This has
an UNKNOWN value out of reset for all cores with any AArch32 support,
so guest software should be setting it anyway if it wants it.
This change was originally landed in commit f7fb73b8cd (during
the 6.0 release cycle) but was then reverted by commit
21c2dd77a6 before that release because it did not work with KVM.
This version fixes that by creating the scratch vCPU in
kvm_arm_get_host_cpu_features() with the KVM_ARM_VCPU_PMU_V3 feature
if KVM supports it, and then only asking KVM for the PMCR_EL0 value
if the vCPU has a PMU.

Make the GICv3 set its number of bits of physical priority from the

The Armv8.4 feature FEAT_IDST specifies that exceptions generated by
read accesses to the feature ID space should report a syndrome code
of 0x18 (EC_SYSTEMREGISTERTRAP) rather than 0x00 (EC_UNCATEGORIZED).
The feature ID space is defined to be:
op0 == 3, op1 == {0,1,3}, CRn == 0, CRm == {0-7}, op2 == {0-7}
In our implementation we might return the EC_UNCATEGORIZED syndrome
value for a system register access in four cases:
* no reginfo struct in the hashtable
* cp_access_ok() fails (ie ri->access doesn't permit the access)
* ri->accessfn returns CP_ACCESS_TRAP_UNCATEGORIZED at runtime
* ri->type includes ARM_CP_RAISES_EXC, and the readfn raises
an UNDEF exception at runtime
We have very few regdefs that set ARM_CP_RAISES_EXC, and none of
them are in the feature ID space. (In the unlikely event that any
are added in future they would need to take care of setting the
correct syndrome themselves.) This patch deals with the other
three cases, and enables FEAT_IDST for AArch64 -cpu max.

This feature widens physical addresses (and intermediate physical
addresses for 2-stage translation) from 48 to 52 bits, when using
4k or 16k pages.
This introduces the DS bit to TCR_ELx, which is RES0 unless the
page size is enabled and supports LPA2, resulting in the effective
value of DS for a given table walk. The DS bit changes the format
of the page table descriptor slightly, moving the PS field out to
TCR so that all pages have the same sharability and repurposing
those bits of the page table descriptor for the highest bits of
the output address.
Do not yet enable FEAT_LPA2; we need extra plumbing to avoid
tickling an old kernel bug.

This feature is relatively small, as it applies only to
64k pages and thus requires no additional changes to the
table descriptor walking algorithm, only a change to the
minimum TSZ (which is the inverse of the maximum virtual
address space size).
Note that this feature widens VBAR_ELx, but we already
treat the register as being 64 bits wide.

Add basic support for Pointer Authentication when running a KVM

support.
Although the feature is enabled by default when the host advertises
it, it is possible to disable it by setting the 'pauth=off' CPU
property. The 'pauth' comment is removed from cpu-features.rst,
as it is now common to both TCG and KVM.

Our current codegen for MVE always calls out to helper functions,
because some byte lanes might be predicated. The common case is that
in fact there is no predication active and all lanes should be
updated together, so we can produce better code by detecting that and
using the TCG generic vector infrastructure.
Add a TB flag that is set when we can guarantee that there is no
active MVE predication, and a bool in the DisasContext. Subsequent
patches will use this flag to generate improved code for some
instructions.
In most cases when the predication state changes we simply end the TB
after that instruction. For the code called from vfp_access_check()
that handles lazy state preservation and creating a new FP context,
we can usually avoid having to try to end the TB because luckily the
new value of the flag following the register changes in those
sequences doesn't depend on any runtime decisions. We do have to end
the TB if the guest has enabled lazy FP state preservation but not
automatic state preservation, but this is an odd corner case that is
not going to be common in real-world code.

In v8A, the PSTATE.IL bit is set for various kinds of illegal
exception return or mode-change attempts. We already set PSTATE.IL
(or its AArch32 equivalent CPSR.IL) in all those cases, but we
weren't implementing the part of the behaviour where attempting to
execute an instruction with PSTATE.IL takes an immediate exception
with an appropriate syndrome value.
Add a new TB flags bit tracking PSTATE.IL/CPSR.IL, and generate code
to take an exception instead of whatever the instruction would have
been.
PSTATE.IL and CPSR.IL change only on exception entry, attempted
exception exit, and various AArch32 mode changes via cpsr_write().
These places generally already rebuild the hflags, so the only place
we need an extra rebuild_hflags call is in the illegal-return
codepath of the AArch64 exception_return helper.

Currently we rely on all the callsites of cpsr_write() to rebuild the
cached hflags if they change one of the CPSR bits which we use as a
TB flag and cache in hflags. This is a bit awkward when we want to
change the set of CPSR bits that we cache, because it means we need
to re-audit all the cpsr_write() callsites to see which flags they
are writing and whether they now need to rebuild the hflags.
Switch instead to making cpsr_write() call arm_rebuild_hflags()
itself if one of the bits being changed is a cached bit.
We don't do the rebuild for the CPSRWriteRaw write type, because that
kind of write is generally doing something special anyway. For the
CPSRWriteRaw callsites in the KVM code and inbound migration we
definitely don't want to recalculate the hflags; the callsites in
boot.c and arm-powerctl.c have to do a rebuild-hflags call themselves
anyway because of other CPU state changes they make.
This allows us to drop explicit arm_rebuild_hflags() calls in a
couple of places where the only reason we needed to call it was the
CPSR write.
This fixes a bug where we were incorrectly failing to rebuild hflags
in the code path for a gdbstub write to CPSR, which meant that you
could make QEMU assert by breaking into a running guest, altering the
CPSR to change the value of, for example, CPSR.E, and then
continuing.

Currently we give all the v7-and-up CPUs a PMU with 4 counters. This
means that we don't provide the 6 counters that are required by the
Arm BSA (Base System Architecture) specification if the CPU supports
the Virtualization extensions.
Instead of having a single PMCR_NUM_COUNTERS, make each CPU type
specify the PMCR reset value (obtained from the appropriate TRM), and
use the 'N' field of that value to define the number of counters
provided.
This means that we now supply 6 counters for Cortex-A53, A57, A72,
A15 and A9 as well as '-cpu max'; Cortex-A7 and A8 stay at 4; and
Cortex-R5 goes down to 3.
Note that because we now use the PMCR reset value of the specific
implementation, we no longer set the LC bit out of reset. This has
an UNKNOWN value out of reset for all cores with any AArch32 support,
so guest software should be setting it anyway if it wants it.

Currently M-profile borrows the A-profile code for VMSR and VMRS
(access to the FP system registers), because all it needs to support
is the FPSCR. In v8.1M things become significantly more complicated
in two ways:
* there are several new FP system registers; some have side effects
on read, and one (FPCXT_NS) needs to avoid the usual
vfp_access_check() and the "only if FPU implemented" check
* all sysregs are now accessible both by VMRS/VMSR (which
reads/writes a general purpose register) and also by VLDR/VSTR
(which reads/writes them directly to memory)
Refactor the structure of how we handle VMSR/VMRS to cope with this:
* keep the M-profile code entirely separate from the A-profile code
* abstract out the "read or write the general purpose register" part
of the code into a loadfn or storefn function pointer, so we can
reuse it for VLDR/VSTR.

If the M-profile low-overhead-branch extension is implemented, FPSCR
bits [18:16] are a new field LTPSIZE. If MVE is not implemented
(currently always true for us) then this field always reads as 4 and
ignores writes.
These bits used to be the vector-length field for the old
short-vector extension, so we need to take care that they are not
misinterpreted as setting vec_len. We do this with a rearrangement
of the vfp_set_fpscr() code that deals with vec_len, vec_stride
and also the QC bit; this obviates the need for the M-profile
only masking step that we used to have at the start of the function.
We provide a new field in CPUState for LTPSIZE, even though this
will always be 4, in preparation for MVE, so we don't have to
come back later and split it out of the vfp.xregs[FPSCR] value.
(This state struct field will be saved and restored as part of
the FPSCR value via the vmstate_fpscr in machine.c.)

v8.1M implements a new 'branch future' feature, which is a
set of instructions that request the CPU to perform a branch
"in the future", when it reaches a particular execution address.
In hardware, the expected implementation is that the information
about the branch location and destination is cached and then
acted upon when execution reaches the specified address.
However the architecture permits an implementation to discard
this cached information at any point, and so guest code must
always include a normal branch insn at the branch point as
a fallback. In particular, an implementation is specifically
permitted to treat all BF insns as NOPs (which is equivalent
to discarding the cached information immediately).
For QEMU, implementing this caching of branch information
would be complicated and would not improve the speed of
execution at all, so we make the IMPDEF choice to implement
all BF insns as NOPs.

From v8.1M, disabled-coprocessor handling changes slightly:
* coprocessors 8, 9, 14 and 15 are also governed by the
cp10 enable bit, like cp11
* an extra range of instruction patterns is considered
to be inside the coprocessor space
We previously marked these up with TODO comments; implement the
correct behaviour.
Unfortunately there is no ID register field which indicates this
behaviour. We could in theory test an unrelated ID register which
indicates guaranteed-to-be-in-v8.1M behaviour like ID_ISAR0.CmpBranch
>= 3 (low-overhead-loops), but it seems better to simply define a new
ARM_FEATURE_V8_1M feature flag and use it for this and other
new-in-v8.1M behaviour that isn't identifiable from the ID registers.

The aa32_fp16_arith feature check function currently looks at the
AArch64 ID_AA64PFR0 register. This is (as the comment notes) not
correct. The bogus check was put in mostly to allow testing of the
fp16 variants of the VCMLA instructions and it was something of
a mistake that we allowed them to exist in master.
Switch the feature check function to testing VMFR1.FPHP, which is
what it ought to be.
This will remove emulation of the VCMLA and VCADD insns from
AArch32 code running on an AArch64 '-cpu max' using system emulation.
(They were never enabled for aarch32 linux-user and system-emulation.)
Since we weren't advertising their existence via the AArch32 ID
register, well-behaved guests wouldn't have been using them anyway.
Once we have implemented all the AArch32 support for the FP16 extension
we will advertise it in the MVFR1 ID register field, which will reenable
these insns along with all the others.

Architecturally, Neon FP16 operations use the "standard FPSCR" like
all other Neon operations. However, this is defined in the Arm ARM
pseudocode as "a fixed value, except that FZ16 (and AHP) follow the
FPSCR bits". In QEMU, the softfloat float_status doesn't include
separate flush-to-zero for FP16 operations, so we must keep separate
fp_status for "Neon non-FP16" and "Neon fp16" operations, in the
same way we do already for the non-Neon "fp_status" vs "fp_status_f16".
Add the extra float_status field to the CPU state structure,

to call gen_io_end() after an IO instruction in icount mode; it is
sufficient to call gen_io_start() before it and to force the end of

Many now-unnecessary calls to gen_io_end() were removed in commit

Remove unneeded calls from the arm target:
* the call in the handling of exception-return-via-LDM is
unnecessary, and the code is already forcing end-of-TB
* the call in the VFP access check code is more complicated:
we weren't ending the TB, so we need to add the code to

* when deciding what bits a linux-user signal-return should be
able to write from the sigcontext structure
* in target_user_copy_regs() when we set up the initial
registers for the linux-user process
In the first two cases not being able to update CPSR.E is a bug, and
in the third case it doesn't matter because CPSR.E is always 0 there.
So we can fix both bugs by adding CPSR_E to CPSR_USER.
Because the cpsr_write() in restore_sigcontext() is now changing
a CPSR bit which is cached in hflags, we need to add an
arm_rebuild_hflags() call there; the callsite in
target_user_copy_regs() was already rebuilding hflags for other
reasons.
(The recommended way to change CPSR.E is to use the 'SETEND'
instruction, which we do correctly allow from usermode code.)

Add a SIGBUS signal handler. In this handler, it checks the SIGBUS type,
translates the host VA delivered by host to guest PA, then fills this PA
to guest APEI GHES memory, then notifies guest according to the SIGBUS
type.
When guest accesses the poisoned memory, it will generate a Synchronous
External Abort(SEA). Then host kernel gets an APEI notification and calls
memory_failure() to unmapped the affected page in stage 2, finally
returns to guest.
Guest continues to access the PG_hwpoison page, it will trap to KVM as
stage2 fault, then a SIGBUS_MCEERR_AR synchronous signal is delivered to
Qemu, Qemu records this error address into guest APEI GHES memory and
notifes guest using Synchronous-External-Abort(SEA).
In order to inject a vSEA, we introduce the kvm_inject_arm_sea() function
in which we can setup the type of exception and the syndrome information.
When switching to guest, the target vcpu will jump to the synchronous
external abort vector table entry.
The ESR_ELx.DFSC is set to synchronous external abort(0x10), and the
ESR_ELx.FnV is set to not valid(0x1), which will tell guest that FAR is
not valid and hold an UNKNOWN value. These values will be set to KVM
register structures through KVM_SET_ONE_REG IOCTL.

MIDR_EL1 is a 64-bit system register with the top 32-bit being RES0.
Represent it in QEMU's ARMCPU struct with a uint64_t, not a

This fixes an error when compiling with -Werror=conversion
because we were manipulating the register value using a
local uint64_t variable:

We define ARMMMUIdx_Stage2 as being an MMU index which uses a QEMU
TLB. However we never actually use the TLB -- all stage 2 lookups
are done by direct calls to get_phys_addr_lpae() followed by a
physical address load via address_space_ld*().
Remove Stage2 from the list of ARM MMU indexes which correspond to
real core MMU indexes, and instead put it in the set of "NOTLB" ARM
MMU indexes.
This allows us to drop NB_MMU_MODES to 11. It also means we can
safely add support for the ARMv8.3-TTS2UXN extension, which adds
permission bits to the stage 2 descriptors which define execute
permission separatel for EL0 and EL1; supporting that while keeping
Stage2 in a QEMU TLB would require us to use separate TLBs for
"Stage2 for an EL0 access" and "Stage2 for an EL1 access", which is a
lot of extra complication given we aren't even using the QEMU TLB.
In the process of updating the comment on our MMU index use,
fix a couple of other minor errors:
* NS EL2 EL2&0 was missing from the list in the comment
* some text hadn't been updated from when we bumped NB_MMU_MODES
above 8

The ARMv8.3-CCIDX extension makes the CCSIDR_EL1 system ID registers
have a format that uses the full 64 bit width of the register, and
adds a new CCSIDR2 register so AArch32 can get at the high 32 bits.
QEMU doesn't implement caches, so we just treat these ID registers as
opaque values that are set to the correct constant values for each
CPU. The only thing we need to do is allow 64-bit values in our
cssidr[] array and provide the CCSIDR2 accessors.
We don't set the CCIDX field in our 'max' CPU because the CCSIDR
constant values we use are the same as the ones used by the
Cortex-A57 and they are in the old 32-bit format. This means
that the extra regdef added here is unused currently, but it
means that whenever in the future we add a CPU that does need
the new 64-bit format it will just work when we set the cssidr
values and the ID registers for it.

These are all in a new subgroup of encodings that sits below the
