4f91740698 hw/pci-host/xilinx-pcie: don't make "io" region be RAM
Currently we use memory_region_init_rom_nomigrate() to create
the "io" memory region to pass to pci_register_root_bus().
This is a dummy region, because this PCI controller doesn't
support accesses to PCI IO space.

There is no reason for the dummy region to be a RAM region;
it is only used as a place where PCI BARs can be mapped,
and if you could get a PCI card to do a bus master access
to the IO space it should not get acts-like-RAM behaviour.
Use a simple container memory region instead. (We do have
one PCI card model which can do bus master accesses to IO
space -- the LSI53C895A SCSI adaptor.)

This avoids the oddity of having a memory region which is
RAM but where the RAM is not migrated.

Note that the size of the region we use here has no
effect on behaviour.

45fefe7c4d uninorth: remove token register from uninorth device
>From observation of various OS sources it can be seen that the token register
introduced in 4e46dcdbd3 "PPC: Newworld: Add uninorth token register" is not
required, since the only register currently implemented is the uninorth hardware
version which is read-only.

Remove the token register implementation and instead return the uninorth
version corresponding to the hardware.

dda53ee93a hw/pci-host/q35: Replace hardcoded value with macro
During smram region initialization some addresses are hardcoded,
replace them with macro to be more clear to readers.

Previous patch forgets about one value and exceeds the line
limit of 90 characters. The v2 breaks a few long lines

0662946aa6 uninorth: create new uninorth device
Commit 4e46dcdbd3 "PPC: Newworld: Add uninorth token register" added a TODO
which was to convert the uninorth registers hack to a proper device. Move
these registers to a new uninorth device, removing the old hacks from
mac_newworld.c.

e226efbb26 uninorth: move PCI IO (ISA) memory region into the uninorth device
Do this for both the uninorth main and uninorth u3 AGP buses, using the main
PCI bus for each machine (this ensures the IO addresses still match those
used by OpenBIOS).

c1d66d378c uninorth: fix PCI and AGP bus mixup
Somewhere in the history of time, the initialisation of the PCI buses for the
AGP and PCI host bridges got mixed up in that the PCI host bridge was
creating an instance of the AGP PCI bus, and the AGP PCI bus was missing.

Swap the PCI host bridge over to use the correct PCI bus (including setting
the kMacRISCPCIAddressSelect register used by MacOS X) and add the missing
reference to the AGP PCI bus.

32cde6154c uninorth: move PCI host bridge bus initialisation into device realize
Since the IO address space is fixed to use the standard system IO address
space then we can also use the opportunity to remove the address_space_io
parameter from pci_pmac_init() and pci_pmac_u3_init().

Note we also move the default mac99 PCI bus to the end of the initialisation
list so that it becomes the default destination for any devices specified
via -device without an explicit PCI bus provided.

This is in preparation for moving the PCI bus wiring inside the uninorth

Add code needed to get a functional PCI subsytem when using in
conjunction with upstream Linux guest (4.13+). Tested to work against
"e1000e" (network adapter, using MSI interrupts) as well as
"usb-ehci" (USB controller, using legacy PCI interrupts).

Based on "i.MX6 Applications Processor Reference Manual" (Document
Number: IMX6DQRM Rev. 4) as well as corresponding dirver in Linux
kernel (circa 4.13 - 4.16 found in drivers/pci/dwc/*)

e688df6bc4 Include qapi/error.h exactly where needed
This cleanup makes the number of objects depending on qapi/error.h
drop from 1910 (out of 4743) to 1612 in my "build everything" tree.

While there, separate #include from file comment with a blank line,
and drop a useless comment on why qemu/osdep.h is included first.

d61a363d3e pci: removed the is_express field since a uniform interface was inserted
according to Eduardo Habkost's commit fd3b02c889 all PCIEs now implement
INTERFACE_PCIE_DEVICE so we don't need is_express field anymore.

Devices that implements only INTERFACE_PCIE_DEVICE (is_express == 1)
or
devices that implements only INTERFACE_CONVENTIONAL_PCI_DEVICE (is_express == 0)
where not affected by the change.

The only devices that were affected are those that are hybrid and also
had (is_express == 1) - therefor only:
  - hw/vfio/pci.c
  - hw/usb/hcd-xhci.c
  - hw/xen/xen_pt.c

For those 3 I made sure that QEMU_PCI_CAP_EXPRESS is on in instance_init()

9b30179460 apb: rename apb.c to sabre.c
This is the final stage in correcting the naming convention with respect to
sabre, APB and PBM. It is effectively a file rename from apb.c to sabre.c
along with touching up a few constants to remove the remaining references
to APB.

Note that as part of the rename process the configuration variable
CONFIG_PCI_APB is changed to CONFIG_PCI_SABRE.

This is in preparation to split the IOMMU device out of the APB. As part of
this commit we also enforce separation of the IOMMU and APB devices by using
a QOM object link to pass the IOMMU reference and accessing the IOMMU registers
via a separate memory region mapped into the APB config space rather than

4b10c8d701 ebus: wire up OBIO interrupts to APB pbm via qdev GPIOs
This enables us to remove the static array mapping in the ISA IRQ
handler (and the embedded reference to the APB device) by formalising
the interrupt wiring via the qdev GPIO API.

For more clarity we replace the APB OBIO interrupt numbers with constants
designating the interrupt source, and rename isa_irq_handler() to
ebus_isa_irq_handler().

33c5eb02c4 apb: remove busA property from PBMPCIBridge state
Since the previous commit the only remaining use of the qdev busA property is
to configure the PCI bridge in front of the onboard ebus devices differently
to allow early OpenBIOS serial console access.

Instead we can now manually update the PCI configuration for bridge A in
pci_pbm_reset() and thus completely remove the busA property from the
PBMPCIBridge state.

cacd05805e apb: remove pci_apb_init() and instantiate APB device using qdev
By making the special_base and mem_base values qdev properties, we can move

Correct some confusion wrt. the PCI facing
side of the PCI host bridge (not PCIe root complex).
The ref. manual for the mpc8533 (as well as
mpc8540 and mpc8540) give the class code as
PCI_CLASS_PROCESSOR_POWERPC.
While the PCI_HEADER_TYPE field is oddly omitted,
the tables in the "PCI Configuration Header"
section shows a type 0 layout using all 6 BAR
registers (as 2x 32, and 2x 64 bit regions)

So 997505065d
seems to be in error.  Although there was
perhaps some confusion as the mpc8533
has a separate PCIe root complex.
With PCIe, a root complex has PCI_HEADER_TYPE=1.

Neither the PCI host bridge, nor the PCIe
root complex advertise class PCI_CLASS_BRIDGE_PCI.

This was confusing Linux guests, which try
to interpret the host bridge as a pci-pci
bridge, but get confused and re-enumerate
the bus when the primary/secondary/subordinate
bus registers don't have valid values.

fd56e0612b pci: Eliminate redundant PCIDevice::bus pointer
The bus pointer in PCIDevice is basically redundant with QOM information.
It's always initialized to the qdev_get_parent_bus(), the only difference
is the type.

Therefore this patch eliminates the field, instead creating a pci_get_bus()
helper to do the type mangling to derive it conveniently from the QOM
Device object underneath.

1115ff6d26 pci: Rename root bus initialization functions for clarity
pci_bus_init(), pci_bus_new_inplace(), pci_bus_new() and pci_register_bus()
are misleadingly named.  They're not used for initializing *any* PCI bus,
but only for a root PCI bus.

Non-root buses - i.e. ones under a logical PCI to PCI bridge - are instead
created with a direct qbus_create_inplace() (see pci_bridge_initfn()).

This patch renames the functions to make it clear they're only used for
a root bus.

9fa99d2519 hw/pci-host: Fix x86 Host Bridges 64bit PCI hole
Currently there is no MMIO range over 4G
reserved for PCI hotplug. Since the 32bit PCI hole
depends on the number of cold-plugged PCI devices
and other factors, it is very possible is too small
to hotplug PCI devices with large BARs.

Fix it by reserving 2G for I4400FX chipset
in order to comply with older Win32 Guest OSes
and 32G for Q35 chipset.

Even if the new defaults of pci-hole64-size will appear in
"info qtree" also for older machines, the property was
not implemented so no changes will be visible to guests.

Note this is a regression since prev QEMU versions had
some range reserved for 64bit PCI hotplug.

We exposed gpex_set_irq_num() for machines to set the INTx to
GSI routing. However if the machine forgets to call that
function we currently do not check the association was properly
done. Let's initialize gsi values to -1 and if this value is
found in gpex_route_intx_pin_to_irq, set the routing mode as
disabled.

6864fa3897 sun4u: update PCI topology to include simba PCI bridges
This patch updates the sun4u model to being much closer to a real Ultra 5
by moving devices behind the 2 simba PCI bridges (A and B) as found on real
hardware.

The most noticeable change introduced by this patchset is that in-built devices
are no longer attached to the PCI root bus, but instead behind PCI bridge A.
Along with this the interrupt routing is updated accordingly to match the
official documentation.

Since the existing code currently bypasses the PCI bridge interrupt
swizzling, the interrupt mapping functions are reorganised so that
pci_pbm_map_irq() is used by the PCI bridges and pci_apb_map_irq() is
used by the PCI host bridge.

Behind the sabre PCI host bridge, the PCI IO space now needs to be
split into two separate halves at 0x8000000. Therefore we also setup a new
PCI IO space region of increased size on the PCI host bridge and enable
32-bit PCI IO accesses to allow IO accesses to reach devices behind PCI
bridge B correctly.

As part of this change we also combine the onboard sunhme NIC and the ebus
into a single multi-function device as done on a real Ultra 5. For other
NICs the existing behaviour is preserved, i.e. we initialise them and
place them into the next free slot on PCI bus B.

Finally we mark the physically unavailable slots (plus slot 0 in busA) as
reserved to ensure that users can't plug devices into non-existent slots
which will break interrupt routing.

Note: since this commit changes PCI topology and interrupt routing, an
updated openbios-sparc64 binary is included with this commit containing the
associated changes to maintain bisectability.

INTERFACE_CONVENTIONAL_PCI_DEVICE is added only to the subtypes
that are actually Conventional PCI:

* dec-21154-p2p-bridge
* i82801b11-bridge
* pbm-bridge
* pci-bridge

The direct subtypes of base-pci-bridge not touched by this patch
are:

* xilinx-pcie-root: Already marked as PCIe-only.
* pcie-pci-bridge: Already marked as PCIe-only.
* pcie-port: all non-abstract subtypes of pcie-port are already
  marked as PCIe-only devices.

3) megasas-base

Not all megasas devices are Conventional PCI devices, so the
interface names are added to the subclasses registered by
megasas_register_types(), according to information in the
megasas_devices[] array.

"megasas-gen2" already implements INTERFACE_PCIE_DEVICE, so add
INTERFACE_CONVENTIONAL_PCI_DEVICE only to "megasas".

Modify the pre_save method on VMStateDescription to return an int

Changed zillions of devices to make them return 0; the only

3df9d74806 memory/iommu: QOM'fy IOMMU MemoryRegion
This defines new QOM object - IOMMUMemoryRegion - with MemoryRegion
as a parent.

This moves IOMMU-related fields from MR to IOMMU MR. However to avoid
dymanic QOM casting in fast path (address_space_translate, etc),
this adds an @is_iommu boolean flag to MR and provides new helper to
do simple cast to IOMMU MR - memory_region_get_iommu. The flag
is set in the instance init callback. This defines
memory_region_is_iommu as memory_region_get_iommu()!=NULL.

This switches MemoryRegion to IOMMUMemoryRegion in most places except
the ones where MemoryRegion may be an alias.

3dc6f86936 Convert error_report() to warn_report()
Convert all uses of error_report("warning:"... to use warn_report()
instead. This helps standardise on a single method of printing warnings
to the user.

All of the warnings were changed using these two commands:

Indentation fixed up manually afterwards.

The test-qdev-global-props test case was manually updated to ensure that

2f295167e0 q35/mch: implement extended TSEG sizes
The q35 machine type currently lets the guest firmware select a 1MB, 2MB
or 8MB TSEG (basically, SMRAM) size. In edk2/OVMF, we use 8MB, but even
that is not enough when a lot of VCPUs (more than approx. 224) are
configured -- SMRAM footprint scales largely proportionally with VCPU
count.

Introduce a new property for "mch" called "extended-tseg-mbytes", which
expresses (in megabytes) the user's choice of TSEG (SMRAM) size.

Invent a new, QEMU-specific register in the config space of the DRAM
Controller, at offset 0x50, in order to allow guest firmware to query the
TSEG (SMRAM) size.

According to Intel Document Number 316966-002, Table 5-1 "DRAM Controller
Register Address Map (D0:F0)":

    Warning: Address locations that are not listed are considered Intel
             Reserved registers locations. Reads to Reserved registers may
             return non-zero values. Writes to reserved locations may
             cause system failures.

             All registers that are defined in the PCI 2.3 specification,
             but are not necessary or implemented in this component are
             simply not included in this document. The
             reserved/unimplemented space in the PCI configuration header
             space is not documented as such in this summary.

Offsets 0x50 and 0x51 are not listed in Table 5-1. They are also not part
of the standard PCI config space header. And they precede the capability
list as well, which starts at 0xe0 for this device.

When the guest writes value 0xffff to this register, the value that can be
read back is that of "mch.extended-tseg-mbytes" -- unless it remains
0xffff. The guest is required to write 0xffff first (as opposed to a
read-only register) because PCI config space is generally not cleared on
QEMU reset, and after S3 resume or reboot, new guest firmware running on
old QEMU could read a guest OS-injected value from this register.

After reading the available "extended" TSEG size, the guest firmware may
actually request that TSEG size by writing pattern 11b to the ESMRAMC
register's TSEG_SZ bit-field. (The Intel spec referenced above defines
only patterns 00b (1MB), 01b (2MB) and 10b (8MB); 11b is reserved.)

On the QEMU command line, the value can be set with

  -global mch.extended-tseg-mbytes=N

The default value for 2.10+ q35 machine types is 16. The value is limited
to 0xfff (4095) at the moment, purely so that the product (4095 MB) can be
stored to the uint32_t variable "tseg_size" in mch_update_smram(). Users
are responsible for choosing sensible TSEG sizes.

On 2.9 and earlier q35 machine types, the default value is 0. This lets
the 11b bit pattern in ESMRAMC.TSEG_SZ, and the register at offset 0x50,
keep their original behavior.

When "extended-tseg-mbytes" is nonzero, the new register at offset 0x50 is
set to that value on reset, for completeness.

PCI config space is migrated automatically, so no VMSD changes are
necessary.

This patch converts the old "is_write" bool into IOMMUAccessFlags. The
difference is that "is_write" can only express either read/write, but
sometimes what we really want is "none" here (neither read nor write).
Replay is an good example - during replay, we should not check any RW
permission bits since thats not an actual IO at all.

cf83f14005 shutdown: Add source information to SHUTDOWN and RESET
Time to wire up all the call sites that request a shutdown or
reset to use the enum added in the previous patch.

It would have been less churn to keep the common case with no
arguments as meaning guest-triggered, and only modified the
host-triggered code paths, via a wrapper function, but then we'd
still have to audit that I didn't miss any host-triggered spots;
changing the signature forces us to double-check that I correctly
categorized all callers.

Since command line options can change whether a guest reset request
causes an actual reset vs. a shutdown, it's easy to also add the
information to reset requests.

is safe to say it is not a temporary measure, and we won't see
the flag go away soon.

Instead of a long field name that misleads people to believe it
is temporary, replace it a shorter and less misleading field:

d28fca153b versatile: remove cannot_destroy_with_object_finalize_yet
cannot_destroy_with_object_finalize_yet was added by 4c315c2
("qdev: Protect device-list-properties against broken devices")
because "realview_pci" and "versatile_pci" were hanging
during "device-list-properties" cleanup (an infinite loop in
bus_unparent()).

We have this problem because the child is not removed from
the list of the PCI bus children because it has no defined parent:
qdev_set_parent_bus() set the device parent_bus pointer to bus, and
adds the device in the bus children list, but doesn't update the
device parent pointer.

To fix the problem, move all the involved parts to the realize function.

fb38ebfbfe hw/pci-host/prep: Do not use hw_error() in realize function
hw_error() is for CPU related errors only (it prints out a
register dump and calls abort()), so we should not use it
if we just failed to load the bios image. Apart from that,
realize() functions should not exit directly but always set
the errp with error_setg() in case of errors instead.
Additionally, move some code around and delete the bios memory
subregion again in case of such an error, so that we leave a
clean state when returning to the caller.

39d97e14a1 ppc: Make uninorth interrupt swizzling identical to Grackle
It's currently broken as it uses an incorrect shift, it tries
to use the slot number but uses the top bits of the bus number
instead.

Note: Neither implementation matches what OpenBIOS ends up putting
in the device-tree either, which will have to be fixed separately.

This is not quite correct for modelling a real Mac since Apple
tend to tie all 4 interrupt lines of a slot together and have
separate interrupts for every slot and every motherboard devices
going straight to the PIC but we'll sort that out later.

01c9742d9d pc: Eliminate PcPciInfo
PcPciInfo has two (ill-named) members: Range w32 is the PCI hole, and
w64 is the PCI64 hole.

Three users:

* I440FXState and MCHPCIState have a member PcPciInfo pci_info, but
  only pci_info.w32 is actually used.  This is confusing.  Replace by
  Range pci_hole.

* acpi_build() uses auto PcPciInfo pci_info to forward both PCI holes
  from acpi_get_pci_info() to build_dsdt().  Replace by two variables
  Range pci_hole, pci_hole64.  Rename acpi_get_pci_info() to
  acpi_get_pci_holes().

PcPciInfo is now unused; drop it.

97a83ec3a9 piix: Set I440FXState member pci_info.w32 in one place
Range pci_info.w32 records the location of the PCI hole.

It's initialized to empty when QOM zeroes I440FXState.  That's a fine
value for a still unknown PCI hole.

i440fx_init() sets pci_info.w32.begin = below_4g_mem_size.  Changes
the PCI hole from empty to [below_4g_mem_size, UINT64_MAX].  That's a
bogus value.

i440fx_pcihost_initfn() sets pci_info.end = IO_APIC_DEFAULT_ADDRESS.
Since i440fx_init() ran already, this changes the PCI hole to
[below_4g_mem_size, IO_APIC_DEFAULT_ADDRESS-1].  That's the correct
value.

Setting the bounds of the PCI hole in two separate places is
confusing, and begs the question whether the bogus intermediate value
could be used by something, or what would happen if we somehow managed
to realize an i440FX device without having run the board init function
i440fx_init() first.

Avoid the confusion by setting the (constant) upper bound along with
the lower bound in i440fx_init().

da34e65cb4 include/qemu/osdep.h: Don't include qapi/error.h
Commit 57cb38b included qapi/error.h into qemu/osdep.h to get the
Error typedef.  Since then, we've moved to include qemu/osdep.h
everywhere.  Its file comment explains: "To avoid getting into
possible circular include dependencies, this file should not include
any other QEMU headers, with the exceptions of config-host.h,
compiler.h, os-posix.h and os-win32.h, all of which are doing a
similar job to this file and are under similar constraints."
qapi/error.h doesn't do a similar job, and it doesn't adhere to
similar constraints: it includes qapi-types.h.  That's in excess of
100KiB of crap most .c files don't actually need.

Add the typedef to qemu/typedefs.h, and include that instead of
qapi/error.h.  Include qapi/error.h in .c files that need it and don't
get it now.  Include qapi-types.h in qom/object.h for uint16List.

Update scripts/clean-includes accordingly.  Update it further to match
reality: replace config.h by config-target.h, add sysemu/os-posix.h,
sysemu/os-win32.h.  Update the list of includes in the qemu/osdep.h
comment quoted above similarly.

This reduces the number of objects depending on qapi/error.h from "all
of them" to less than a third.  Unfortunately, the number depending on
qapi-types.h shrinks only a little.  More work is needed for that one.

7ef295ea5b loader: Add data swap option to load-elf
Some CPUs are of an opposite data-endianness to other components in the
system. Sometimes elfs have the data sections layed out with this CPU
data-endianness accounting for when loaded via the CPU, so byte swaps
(relative to other system components) will occur.

The leading example, is ARM's BE32 mode, which is is basically LE with
address manipulation on half-word and byte accesses to access the
hw/byte reversed address. This means that word data is invariant
across LE and BE32. This also means that instructions are still LE.
The expectation is that the elf will be loaded via the CPU in this
endianness scheme, which means the data in the elf is reversed at
compile time.

As QEMU loads via the system memory directly, rather than the CPU, we
need a mechanism to reverse elf data endianness to implement this
possibility.

d7bce9999d qom: Swap 'name' next to visitor in ObjectPropertyAccessor
Similar to the previous patch, it's nice to have all functions
in the tree that involve a visitor and a name for conversion to
or from QAPI to consistently stick the 'name' parameter next

then running this Coccinelle script and touching up the fallout

51e72bc1dd qapi: Swap visit_* arguments for consistent 'name' placement
JSON uses "name":value, but many of our visitor interfaces were
called with visit_type_FOO(v, &value, name, errp).  This can be
a bit confusing to have to mentally swap the parameter order to
match JSON order.  It's particularly bad for visit_start_struct(),
where the 'name' parameter is smack in the middle of the
otherwise-related group of 'obj, kind, size' parameters! It's
time to do a global swap of the parameter ordering, so that the
'name' parameter is always immediately after the Visitor argument.

Additional reason in favor of the swap: the existing include/qjson.h
prefers listing 'name' first in json_prop_*(), and I have plans to
unify that file with the qapi visitors; listing 'name' first in
qapi will minimize churn to the (admittedly few) qjson.h clients.

Later patches will then fix docs, object.h, visitor-impl.h, and
those clients to match.

Done by first patching scripts/qapi*.py by hand to make generated
files do what I want, then by running the following Coccinelle
script to affect the rest of the code base:

I then had to apply some touchups (Coccinelle insisted on TAB
indentation in visitor.h, and botched the signature of
visit_type_enum() by rewriting 'const char *const strings[]' to

movement of parameters is sufficient to provoke compiler errors
if any callers were missed.

98ae3b27d5 uninorth.c: add support for UniNorth kMacRISCPCIAddressSelect (0x48) register
Darwin/OS X use the undocumented kMacRISCPCIAddressSelect (0x48) to
configure PCI memory space size for mac99 machines. Without this
register, warnings similar to below are emitted to the console during boot:

AppleMacRiscPCI: bad range 2(80000000:01000000)
AppleMacRiscPCI: bad range 2(81000000:00001000)
AppleMacRiscPCI: bad range 2(81080000:00080000)

Based upon the algorithm in Darwin's AppleMacRiscPCI.cpp driver, set the
kMacRISCPCIAddressSelect register so that Darwin considers the PCI
memory space to be at 0x80000000 (size 0x10000000) which matches that
currently used by QEMU and OpenBIOS.

d10e54329b isa: Clean up error handling around isa_bus_new()
We can have at most one ISA bus.  If you try to create another one,
isa_bus_new() complains to stderr and returns null.

isa_bus_new() is called in two contexts, machine's init() and device's
realize() methods.  Since complaining to stderr is not proper in the
latter context, convert isa_bus_new() to Error.

Machine's init():

* mips_jazz_init(), called from the init() methods of machines
  "magnum" and "pica"

* mips_r4k_init(), the init() method of machine "mips"

* pc_init1() called from the init() methods of non-q35 PC machines

* typhoon_init(), called from clipper_init(), the init() method of
  machine "clipper"

These callers always create the first ISA bus, hence isa_bus_new()
can't fail.  Simply pass &error_abort.

Device's realize():

* i82378_realize(), of PCI device "i82378"

* ich9_lpc_realize(), of PCI device "ICH9-LPC"

* pci_ebus_realize(), of PCI device "ebus"

* piix3_realize(), of PCI device "pci-piix3", abstract parent of
  "PIIX3" and "PIIX3-xen"

* piix4_realize(), of PCI device "PIIX4"

* vt82c686b_realize(), of PCI device "VT82C686B"

Propagate the error.  Note that these devices are typically created
only by machine init() methods with qdev_init_nofail() or similar.  If
we screwed up and created an ISA bus before that call, we now give up
right away.  Before, we'd hobble on, and typically die in
isa_bus_irqs().  Similar if someone finds a way to hot-plug one of
these critters.

7df953bd45 intel_iommu: Add support for translation for devices behind bridges
- Use a hash table indexed on bus pointers to store information about buses
  instead of using the bus numbers.
  Bus pointers are stored in a new VTDBus struct together with the vector
  of device address space pointers indexed by devfn.
- The bus number is still used for lookup for selective SID based invalidate,
  in which case the bus number is lazily resolved from the bus hash table and
  cached in a separate index.

4c315c2766 qdev: Protect device-list-properties against broken devices
Several devices don't survive object_unref(object_new(T)): they crash
or hang during cleanup, or they leave dangling pointers behind.

This breaks at least device-list-properties, because
qmp_device_list_properties() needs to create a device to find its
properties.  Broken in commit f4eb32b "qmp: show QOM properties in
device-list-properties", v2.1.  Example reproducer:

Unfortunately, I can't fix the problems in these devices right now.
Instead, add DeviceClass member cannot_destroy_with_object_finalize_yet
to mark them:

* Hang during cleanup (didn't debug, so I can't say why):
  "realview_pci", "versatile_pci".

* Dangling pointer in cpus: most CPUs, plus "allwinner-a10", "digic",
  "fsl,imx25", "fsl,imx31", "xlnx,zynqmp", because they create such
  CPUs

* Assert kvm_enabled(): "host-x86_64-cpu", host-i386-cpu",
  "host-powerpc64-cpu", "host-embedded-powerpc-cpu",
  "host-powerpc-cpu" (the powerpc ones can't currently reach the
  assertion, because the CPUs are only registered when KVM is enabled,
  but the assertion is arguably in the wrong place all the same)

Make qmp_device_list_properties() fail cleanly when the device is so
marked.  This improves device-list-properties from "crashes, hangs or
leaves dangling pointers behind" to "fails".  Not a complete fix, just
a better-than-nothing work-around.  In the above reproducer,
device-list-properties now fails with "Can't list properties of device
'pxa2xx-pcmcia'".

This also protects -device FOO,help, which uses the same machinery
since commit ef52358 "qdev-monitor: include QOM properties in -device
FOO, help output", v2.2.  Example reproducer:

    $ qemu-system-aarch64 -machine none -device pxa2xx-pcmcia,help

Before:

f8ed85ac99 Fix bad error handling after memory_region_init_ram()
Symptom:

    $ qemu-system-x86_64 -m 10000000
    Unexpected error in ram_block_add() at /work/armbru/qemu/exec.c:1456:
    upstream-qemu: cannot set up guest memory 'pc.ram': Cannot allocate memory
    Aborted (core dumped)

Root cause: commit ef701d7 screwed up handling of out-of-memory
conditions.  Before the commit, we report the error and exit(1), in
one place, ram_block_add().  The commit lifts the error handling up
the call chain some, to three places.  Fine.  Except it uses
&error_abort in these places, changing the behavior from exit(1) to
abort(), and thus undoing the work of commit 3922825 "exec: Don't
abort when we can't allocate guest memory".

* memory_region_init_ram()

  Commit 4994653 (right after commit ef701d7) lifted the error
  handling further, through memory_region_init_ram(), multiplying the
  incorrect use of &error_abort.  Later on, imitation of existing
  (bad) code may have created more.

* memory_region_init_ram_ptr()

  The &error_abort is still there.

* memory_region_init_rom_device()

  Doesn't need fixing, because commit 33e0eb5 (soon after commit
  ef701d7) lifted the error handling further, and in the process
  changed it from &error_abort to passing it up the call chain.
  Correct, because the callers are realize() methods.

Fix the error handling after memory_region_init_ram() with a
Coccinelle semantic patch:

When the last argument is &error_abort, it gets replaced by
&error_fatal.  This is the fix.

If the last argument is anything else, its position is reported.  This
lets us check the fix is complete.  Four positions get reported:

* ram_backend_memory_alloc()

  Error is passed up the call chain, ultimately through
  user_creatable_complete().  As far as I can tell, it's callers all
  handle the error sanely.

* fsl_imx25_realize(), fsl_imx31_realize(), dp8393x_realize()

  DeviceClass.realize() methods, errors handled sanely further up the
  call chain.

We're good.  Test case again behaves:

The next commits will repair the rest of commit ef701d7's damage.

58d479786b hw/pci-host/bonito: Avoid buffer overrun for bad LDMA/COP accesses
The LDMA and COP memory regions represent four 32 bit registers
each, but the memory regions themselves are 0x100 bytes large.
Add guards to the read and write accessors so that bogus accesses
beyond the four defined registers don't just run off the end of
the bonldma and boncop structs and into whatever lies beyond.

e33d22fab3 piix: Document coreboot-specific RAM size config register
The existing i440fx initialization code sets a PCI config register that
isn't documented anywhere in the Intel 440FX datasheet. Register 0x57 is
DRAMC (DRAM Control) and has nothing to do with the RAM size.

This was implemented in commit ec5f92ce6a
because old coreboot code tried to read registers 0x5a-0x5f,0x56,0x57 to
get the RAM size from QEMU, but I couldn't find out why coreboot did
that. I assume it was a mistake, and the original code was supposed to
be reading the DRB[0-7] registers (offsets 0x60-0x67).

Document that coreboot-specific register offset in a macro and a
comment, for future reference.

5cd8cadae8 migration: Use normal VMStateDescriptions for Subsections
We create optional sections with this patch.  But we already have
optional subsections.  Instead of having two mechanism that do the
same, we can just generalize it.

For subsections we just change:

- Add a needed function to VMStateDescription
- Remove VMStateSubsection (after removal of the needed function
  it is just a VMStateDescription)
- Adjust the whole tree, moving the needed function to the corresponding
  VMStateDescription

TSEG provides larger amounts of SMRAM than the 128 KB available with
legacy SMRAM and high SMRAM.

Route access to tseg into nowhere when enabled, for both cpus and

68c77acfb1 q35: implement SMRAM.D_LCK
Once the SMRAM.D_LCK bit has been set by the guest several bits in SMRAM
and ESMRAMC become readonly until the next machine reset.  Implement
this by updating the wmask accordingly when the guest sets the lock bit.
As the lock it itself is locked down too we don't need to worry about
the guest clearing the lock bit.

When H_SMRAME is 1, low memory at 0xa0000 is left alone by
SMM, and instead the chipset maps the 0xa0000-0xbffff window at
0xfeda0000-0xfedbffff.  This affects both the "non-SMM" view controlled
by D_OPEN and the SMM view controlled by G_SMRAME, so add two new
MemoryRegions and toggle the enabled/disabled state of all four
in mch_update_smram.

fe6567d5fd hw/i386: add a separate region that tracks the SMRAME bit
This region is exported at /machine/smram.  It is "empty" if
SMRAME=0 and points to SMRAM if SMRAME=1.  The CPU will
enable/disable it as it enters or exits SMRAM.

While touching nearby code, the existing memory region setup was
slightly inconsistent.  The smram_region is *disabled* in order to open
SMRAM (because the smram_region shows the low VRAM instead of the RAM
at 0xa0000).  Because SMRAM is closed at startup, the smram_region must
be enabled when creating the i440fx or q35 devices.
