(struct virtio_gpu_framebuffer) and pass the object to set_scanout.
Also move code in set_scanout into a do_set_scanout function.

Add helper functions to create a dmabuf for a resource and mmap it.
Also, introduce the fields blob and blob_size so that these helpers
can start to use them but the full picture will emerge only after
adding create_blob API in patch 8 of this series.
To be able to create a dmabuf using the udmabuf driver, Qemu needs
to be lauched with the memfd memory backend like this:
qemu-system-x86_64 -m 8192m -object memory-backend-memfd,id=mem1,size=8192M

On some MIPS system, page size is 16K, and qxl vga device can
be used for VM in kvm mode. Qxl pci rom size is set 8K fixed,
smaller than 16K page size on host system, it fails to be
added into memslots in kvm mode where memory_size and GPA
are required to align with page size.
This patch fixes this issue.

In the failover case configuration, virtio_net_device_realize() uses an
add_migration_state_change_notifier() to add a state notifier, but this
notifier is not removed by the unrealize function when the virtio-net
card is unplugged.
If the card is unplugged and a migration is started, the notifier is
called and as it is not valid anymore QEMU crashes.
This patch fixes the problem by adding the
remove_migration_state_change_notifier() in virtio_net_device_unrealize().
The problem can be reproduced with:

If a PHY does not exist, attempts to read from it should return 0xffff.
Otherwise the Linux kernel will believe that a PHY is there and select
the non-existing PHY. This in turn will result in network errors later
on since the real PHY is not selected or configured.
Since reading from or writing to a non-existing PHY is not an emulation
error, replace guest error messages with traces.

Introduce the cpu_virtio_is_big_endian() generic helper to avoid
calling CPUClass internal virtio_is_big_endian() one.
Similarly to commit bf7663c4bd ("cpu: introduce
CPUClass::virtio_is_big_endian()"), we keep 'virtio' in the method
name to hint this handler shouldn't be called anywhere but from the
virtio code.

check_lba_range expects sectors to be expressed in original qdev blocksize, but
scsi_unmap_complete_noio was translating them to 512 block sizes, which was
causing sense errors in the larger LBAs in devices using a 4k block size.

Per the kconfig.rst:
A device should be listed [...] ``imply`` if (depending on
the QEMU command line) the board may or may not be started

The variable outport_present is a flag to show if the outport
subsection was loaded. Clear the outport_present flag in the
outer pre_load() function. This method is recommended in the QEMU
manual for developers in the chapter "Migration, Subsections".

In 2005 the author of commit daa579632d "PS2 mouse and keyboard
separation (Paul Brook)" and 0e43e99c04 "PS2 mouse and keyboard
separation (Paul Brook)" separated the PS/2 controller code and
the PS/2 keyboard and mouse code. It seems he forgot to remove
a few defines. Remove them now.

Currently the PS/2 controller command KBD_CCMD_MOUSE_DISABLE
doesn't disable the PS/2 mouse communication at all, and the
PS/2 controller commands KBD_CCMD_KBD_DISABLE and
KBD_CCMD_KBD_ENABLE only disable and enable the keyboard
interrupt, which is very different from what a real PS/2
controller does. A guest may notice the difference.
Mask out pending data on disabled queues to correctly disable
the PS/2 controller communication.

Add a separate queue for PS/2 controller responses. The
responses no longer get queued in the keyboard or mouse queues.
The advantage of this can be seen after the next two patches,
where the guest can disable the PS/2 communication with keyboard
and mouse and still talk to the PS/2 controller.

Currently there is only one flag to distinguish between two
interrupt sources and there are no available flags for more
sources. Add an internal state variable to store the interrupt
source. The next patch will introduce an additional interrupt
source. There is no functional change.

Limit the keyboard data rate to the serial link speed. Some old
DOS software relies on being able to read an incoming scan-code
more than once. After reading keyboard data from the i8042
controller, the guest software has 1ms to read the same data
again.
Use -global i8042.kbd-throttle=on to enable this feature.
To see how this patch works, start a FreeDOS 1.2 guest with the
qemu option -global i8042.kbd-throttle=on and open a text file
with the vim 7.3 32 bit for DOS executable. Then use the cursor
keys (not the cursor keys on the numeric keypad) to move through
the text. Without the kbd-throttle option enabled each keystroke
will move the cursor two positions.

ps2_queue() behaves differently than the very similar functions
ps2_queue_2() to ps2_queue_4(). The first one calls update_irq()
even if the queue is full, the others don't. Change ps2_queue()
to be consistent with the others.

Commit 7abe7eb294 "ps2: Fix mouse stream corruption due to lost data"
added code to avoid mouse stream corruptions but the calculation of
the needed free queue size was wrong. Fix this.
To reproduce, open a text file with the vim 7.3 32 bit for DOS exe-
cutable in a FreeDOS client started with -display sdl and move the
mouse around for a few seconds. You will quickly see erratic mouse
movements and unexpected mouse clicks. CuteMouse (ctmouse.exe) in
FreeDOS doesn't try to re-sync the mouse stream.

The SSE-300 has an ITCM at 0x0000_0000 and a DTCM at 0x2000_0000.
Currently we model these in the AN547 board, but this is conceptually
wrong, because they are a part of the SSE-300 itself. Move the
modelling of the TCMs out of mps2-tz.c into sse300.c.
This has no guest-visible effects.

Currently we model the ITCM in the AN547's RAMInfo list. This is incorrect
because this RAM is really a part of the SSE-300. We can't just delete
it from the RAMInfo list, though, because this would make boot_ram_size()
assert because it wouldn't be able to find an entry in the list covering
guest address 0.
Allow a board to specify a boot RAM size manually if it doesn't have
any RAM itself at address 0 and is relying on the SSE for that, and
set the correct value for the AN547. The other boards can continue
to use the "look it up from the RAMInfo list" logic.

The SSE-300 was not correctly modelling its internal SRAMs:
* the SRAM address width default is 18
* the SRAM is mapped at 0x2100_0000, not 0x2000_0000 like
the SSE-200 and IoTKit
The default address width is no longer guest-visible since
our only SSE-300 board sets it explicitly to a non-default
value, but following the hardware's default will help for
any future boards we need to model.

The AN547 sets the SRAM_ADDR_WIDTH for the SSE-300 to 21;
since this is not the default value for the SSE-300, model this

The SRAM at 0x2000_0000 is part of the SSE-200 itself, and we model
it that way in hw/arm/armsse.c (along with the associated MPCs). We
incorrectly also added an entry to the RAMInfo array for the AN524 in
hw/arm/mps2-tz.c, which was pointless because the CPU would never see
it. Delete it.
The bug had no guest-visible effect because devices in the SSE-200
take priority over those in the board model (armsse.c maps
s->board_memory at priority -2).

In icc_eoir_write() we assume that we can identify the group of the
IRQ being completed based purely on which register is being written
to and the current CPU state, and that "CPU state matches group
indicated by register" is the only necessary access check.
This isn't correct: if the CPU is not in Secure state then EOIR1 will
only complete Group 1 NS IRQs, but if the CPU is in EL3 it can
complete both Group 1 S and Group 1 NS IRQs. (The pseudocode
ICC_EOIR1_EL1 makes this clear.) We were also missing the logic to
prevent EOIR0 writes completing G0 IRQs when they should not.
Rearrange the logic to first identify the group of the current
highest priority interrupt and then look at whether we should
complete it or ignore the access based on which register was accessed
and the state of the CPU. The resulting behavioural change is:
* EL3 can now complete G1NS interrupts
* G0 interrupt completion is now ignored if the GIC
and the CPU have the security extension enabled and
the CPU is not secure

6d9cd115b9 ("hw/arm/smmuv3: Enforce invalidation on a power of two range")
failed to completely fix misalignment issues with range
invalidation. For instance invalidations patterns like "invalidate 32
4kB pages starting from 0xff395000 are not correctly handled" due
to the fact the previous fix only made sure the number of invalidated
pages were a power of 2 but did not properly handle the start
address was not aligned with the range. This can be noticed when
boothing a fedora 33 with protected virtio-blk-pci.

The vfio_ccw_unrealize() routine makes an unconditional attempt to
unregister every IRQ notifier, though they may not have been registered
in the first place (when running on an older kernel, for example).
Let's mirror this behavior in the error cleanups in vfio_ccw_realize()
so that if/when new IRQs are added, it is less confusing to recognize
the necessary procedures. The worst case scenario would be some extra
messages about an undefined IRQ, but since this is an error exit that
won't be the only thing to worry about.
And regarding those messages, let's change it to a warning instead of
an error, to better reflect their severity. The existing code in both
paths handles everything anyway.

Commit 690e29b911 ("vfio-ccw: Refactor ccw irq handler") changed
one of the checks for the IRQ notifier registration from saying
"the host needs to recognize the only IRQ that exists" to saying
"the host needs to recognize ANY IRQ that exists."
And this worked fine, because the subsequent change to support the
CRW IRQ notifier doesn't get into this code when running on an older
kernel, thanks to a guard by a capability region. The later addition
of the REQ(uest) IRQ by commit b2f96f9e4f ("vfio-ccw: Connect the
device request notifier") broke this assumption because there is no
matching capability region. Thus, running new QEMU on an older
kernel fails with:
vfio: unexpected number of irqs 2
Let's adapt the message here so that there's a better clue of what
IRQ is missing.
Furthermore, let's make the REQ(uest) IRQ not fail when attempting
to register it, to permit running vfio-ccw on a newer QEMU with an
older kernel.

Moved has_spr to cpu.h as ppc_has_spr and turned it into an inline function.

The function ppc_hash64_filter_pagesizes has been moved from a function
with prototype in mmu-hash64.h and implemented in mmu-hash64.c to
a static function in hw/ppc/spapr_caps.c as it's only used in that file.

The hypercalls h_enter, h_remove, h_bulk_remove, h_protect, and h_read,
have been moved to spapr_softmmu.c with the functions they depend on. The
functions is_ram_address and push_sregs_to_kvm_pr are not static anymore
as functions on both spapr_hcall.c and spapr_softmmu.c depend on them.
The hypercalls h_resize_hpt_prepare and h_resize_hpt_commit have been
divided, the KVM part stayed in spapr_hcall.c while the softmmu part
was moved to spapr_softmmu.c

Starting with Linux kernel v5.12 we dropped support[1] in KVM for
hosts that can't have their threads running in different MMU modes
(POWER9 < DD2.2). In these hosts, KVM will no longer report the
KVM_CAP_PPC_MMU_HASH_V3 capability[2] when the host is running Radix.
For guests that support both MMU modes, the negotiation during CAS
will make sure it selects the correct one.
For guests that only support Hash, such as P8 compat mode guests, the
following error is currently thrown:

Creating a device with a number of queues that isn't supported by the
backend is pointless, the device won't work properly and the error
messages are rather confusing.
Just fail to create the device if num-queues is higher than what the
backend supports.
Since the relationship between num-queues and the number of virtqueues
depends on the specific device, this is an additional value that needs
to be initialised by the device. For convenience, allow leaving it 0 if
the check should be skipped. This makes sense for vhost-user-net where
separate vhost devices are used for the queues and custom initialisation
code is needed to perform the check.

Commit 2943b53f6 (' virtio: force VIRTIO_F_IOMMU_PLATFORM') made sure
that vhost can't just reject VIRTIO_F_IOMMU_PLATFORM when it was
requested. However, just adding it back to the negotiated flags isn't
right either because it promises support to the guest that the device
actually doesn't support. One example of a vhost-user device that
doesn't have support for the flag is the vhost-user-blk export of QEMU.
Instead of successfully creating a device that doesn't work, just fail
to plug the device when it doesn't support the feature, but it was
requested. This results in much clearer error messages.

VIRTIO_F_RING_PACKED and VIRTIO_F_IOMMU_PLATFORM need to be supported by
the vhost device, otherwise advertising it to the guest doesn't result
in a working configuration. They are currently not supported by the
vhost-user-blk export in QEMU.

Now that vhost_user_blk_connect() is not called from an event handler
any more, but directly from vhost_user_blk_device_realize(), we can
actually make use of Error again instead of calling error_report() in
the inner function and setting a more generic and therefore less useful
error message in realize() itself.
With Error, the callers are responsible for adding context if necessary
(such as the "-device" option the error refers to). Additional prefixes
are redundant and better omitted.

This is a partial revert of commits 77542d4314 and bc79c87bcd.
Usually, an error during initialisation means that the configuration was
wrong. Reconnecting won't make the error go away, but just turn the
error condition into an endless loop. Avoid this and return errors
again.
Additionally, calling vhost_user_blk_disconnect() from the chardev event
handler could result in use-after-free because none of the
initialisation code expects that the device could just go away in the
middle. So removing the call fixes crashes in several places.
For example, using a num-queues setting that is incompatible with the
backend would result in a crash like this (dereferencing dev->opaque,
which is already NULL):

Note that this removes the ability to reconnect during initialisation
(but not during operation) when there is no permanent error, but the
backend restarts, as the implementation was buggy. This feature can be
added back in a follow-up series after changing error paths to
distinguish cases where retrying could help from cases with permanent

Currently IO Command Set Profile feature is supported, but the feature
support flag not set. Further, this feature is changable. Fix that.

Type 41 defines the attributes of devices that are onboard. The
original intent was to imply the BIOS had some level of control over
the enablement of the associated devices.
If network devices are present in this table, by default, udev will
name the corresponding interfaces enoX, X being the instance number.
Without such information, udev will fallback to using the PCI ID and
this usually gives ens3 or ens4. This can be a bit annoying as the
name of the network card may depend on the order of options and may
change if a new PCI device is added earlier on the commande line.
Being able to provide SMBIOS type 41 entry ensure the name of the
interface won't change and helps the user guess the right name without
booting a first time.
This can be invoked with:

This allows the virtio-scsi-pci device to batch the setup of all its
host notifiers. This significantly improves boot time of VMs with a
high number of vCPUs, e.g. from 6m5.563s down to 1m2.884s for a
pseries machine with 384 vCPUs.
Note that memory_region_transaction_commit() must be called before
virtio_bus_cleanup_host_notifier() because the latter might close
ioeventfds that the transaction still assumes to be around when it
commits.

Host notifiers are guaranteed to be idle until the callbacks are
hooked up with virtio_queue_aio_set_host_notifier_handler(). They
thus don't need to be set or unset with the AioContext lock held.
Do this outside the critical section, like virtio-blk already
does : basically downgrading virtio_scsi_vring_init() to only
setup the host notifier and set the callback in the caller.
This will allow to batch addition/deletion of ioeventds in
a single memory transaction, which is expected to greatly
improve initialization time.

When dataplane multiqueue support was added in QEMU 2.7, the path
that would rollback guest notifiers assignment in case of error
simply got dropped.
Later on, when Error was added to blk_set_aio_context() in QEMU 4.1,
another error path was introduced, but it ommits to rollback both
host and guest notifiers.
It seems cleaner to fix the rollback path in one go. The patch is
simple enough that it can be adjusted if backported to a pre-4.1
QEMU.

Ram block notifiers are currently not aware of resizes. To properly
handle resizes during migration, we want to teach ram block notifiers about
resizeable ram.
Introduce the basic infrastructure but keep using max_size in the
existing notifiers. Supply the max_size when adding and removing ram
blocks. Also, notify on resizes.

Factor it out into common code when a new notifier is registered, just
as done with the memory region notifier. This keeps logic about how to
process existing ram blocks at a central place.
Just like when adding a new ram block, we have to register the max_length.
Ram blocks are only "fake resized". All memory (max_length) is mapped.
Print the warning from inside qemu_vfio_ram_block_added().

The bulk stage is kind of weird: migration_bitmap_find_dirty() will
indicate a dirty page, however, ram_save_host_page() will never save it, as
migration_bitmap_clear_dirty() detects that it is not dirty.
We already fill the bitmap in ram_list_init_bitmaps() with ones, marking
everything dirty - it didn't used to be that way, which is why we needed
an explicit first bulk stage.
Let's simplify: make the bitmap the single source of thuth. Explicitly
handle the "xbzrle_enabled after first round" case.
Regarding XBZRLE (implicitly handled via "ram_bulk_stage = false" right
now), there is now a slight change in behavior:
- Colo: When starting, it will be disabled (was implicitly enabled)
until the first round actually finishes.
- Free page hinting: When starting, XBZRLE will be disabled (was implicitly
enabled) until the first round actually finished.
- Snapshots: When starting, XBZRLE will be disabled. We essentially only
do a single run, so I guess it will never actually get disabled.
Postcopy seems to indirectly disable it in ram_save_page(), so there
shouldn't be really any change.

sparse-mem.c is added to the 'mem_ss' source set, which itself
is conditionally added to softmmu_ss if CONFIG_MEM_DEVICE is
selected.
But if CONFIG_MEM_DEVICE isn't selected, we get a link failure

TYPE_MC146818_RTC is an ISA device, so its DeviceClass::reset()
handler is called automatically when its qbus parent is reset
(we don't need to register it manually).
We have 2 reset() methods: a generic one and the qdev one.
Merge them into a reset_enter handler (keeping the IRQ lowering
to a reset_hold one), and remove the qemu_register_reset() call.

When no mapping is requested, it is pointless to create
alias regions.
Only create them when multiple mappings are requested to
simplify the memory layout. The flatview is not changed.

The ROMD mode isn't related to mapping setup.
Ideally we'd set this mode when the state machine resets,

Commit dfc388797c ("hw/arm: xlnx: Set all boards' GEM 'phy-addr'
property value to 23") configured the PHY address for xilinx-zynq-a9
to 23. When trying to boot xilinx-zynq-a9 with zynq-zc702.dtb or
zynq-zc706.dtb, this results in the following error message when
trying to use the Ethernet interface.

The devicetree files for ZC702 and ZC706 configure PHY address 7. The
documentation for the ZC702 and ZC706 evaluation boards suggest that the
PHY address is 7, not 23. Other boards use PHY address 0, 1, 3, or 7.
I was unable to find a documentation or a devicetree file suggesting
or using PHY address 23. The Ethernet interface starts working with
zynq-zc702.dtb and zynq-zc706.dtb when setting the PHY address to 7,
so let's use it.

The AN524 FPGA image supports two memory maps, which differ in where
the QSPI and BRAM are. In the default map, the BRAM is at
0x0000_0000, and the QSPI at 0x2800_0000. In the second map, they
are the other way around.
In hardware, the initial mapping can be selected by the user by
writing either "REMAP: BRAM" (the default) or "REMAP: QSPI" in the
board configuration file. The board config file is acted on by the
"Motherboard Configuration Controller", which is an entirely separate
microcontroller on the dev board but outside the FPGA.
The guest can also dynamically change the mapping via the SCC
CFG_REG0 register.
Implement this functionality for QEMU, using a machine property
"remap" with valid values "BRAM" and "QSPI" to allow the user to set
the initial mapping, in the same way they can on the FPGA, and
wiring up the bit from the SCC register to also switch the mapping.

On some boards, SCC config register CFG0 bit 0 controls whether
parts of the board memory map are remapped. Support this with:
* a device property scc-cfg0 so the board can specify the
initial value of the CFG0 register
* an outbound GPIO line which tracks bit 0 and which the board
can wire up to provide the remapping

The i.MX25 PDK board has 2 banks for SDRAM, each can
address up to 256 MiB. So the total RAM usable for this
board is 512M. When we ask for more we get a misleading
error message:

qemu-system-arm: Invalid RAM size, should be 128 MiB
Update the error message to better match the reality:
$ qemu-system-arm -M imx25-pdk -m 513M
qemu-system-arm: RAM size more than 512 MiB is not supported

The omap_mmc_reset() function resets its SD card via
device_legacy_reset(). We know that the SD card does not have a qbus
of its own, so the new device_cold_reset() function (which resets
both the device and its child buses) is equivalent here to
device_legacy_reset() and we can just switch to the new API.

When we're replacing the existing mapping there is possibility of a race
on memory map with other threads doing mmap operations - the address being
unmapped/re-mapped could be occupied by another thread in between.
Linux mmap man page recommends keeping the existing mappings in place to
reserve the place and instead utilize the fact that the next mmap operation
with MAP_FIXED flag passed will implicitly destroy the existing mappings
behind the chosen address. This behavior is guaranteed by POSIX / BSD and
therefore is portable.
Note that it wouldn't make the replacement atomic for parallel accesses to
the replaced region - those might still fail with SIGBUS due to
xenforeignmemory_map not being atomic. So we're still not expecting those.

Now that we have separated the gl and non-gl code flows to two different
devices there is little reason turn on and off virglrenderer usage at
runtime. The gl code can simply use virglrenderer unconditionally.

Move device init (realize) and properties.
Drop the virgl property, the virtio-gpu-gl-device has virgl enabled no
matter what. Just use virtio-gpu-device instead if you don't want

dma_memory_map() may map only a part of the request. Happens if the
request can't be mapped in one go, for example due to a iommu creating
a linear dma mapping for scattered physical pages. Should that be the
case virtio-gpu must call dma_memory_map() again with the remaining
range instead of simply throwing an error.
Note that this change implies the number of iov entries may differ from
the number of mapping entries sent by the guest. Therefore the iov_len
bookkeeping needs some updates too, we have to explicitly pass around
the iov length now.

The Detailed Timing Descriptor has only 12 bits to store the
resolution. This limits the guest to 4095 pixels.
This patch adds support for the DisplayID extension, that has 2 full
bytes for that purpose, thus allowing 5k resolutions and above.

Some of the EDID extensions like DisplayID do checksums of their
subsections. Currently checksums can be only applied to the whole
extension blocks which are 128 bytes.
This patch allows to checksum arbitrary parts of EDID, and not only
whole extension blocks.

usb-host and usb-redirect try to batch bulk transfers by combining many
small usb packets into a single, large transfer request, to reduce the
overhead and improve performance.
This patch adds a size limit of 1 MiB for those combined packets to
restrict the host resources the guest can bind that way.

Since cpu_check_irqs() doesn't reference to anything outside
of CPUSPARCState, it better belongs to the architectural code
in target/, rather than the hardware specific code in hw/.
Note: while we moved the trace events, we don't rename them.
Remark: this allows us to build the leon3 machine stand alone,
fixing this link failure (because cpu_check_irqs is defined in

When building without the leon3 machine, we get this link failure:
/usr/bin/ld: target_sparc_int32_helper.c.o: in function `leon3_irq_manager':
target/sparc/int32_helper.c:172: undefined reference to `leon3_irq_ack'
This is because the leon3_irq_ack() is declared in hw/sparc/leon3.c,
which is only build when CONFIG_LEON3 is selected.
Fix by moving the leon3_cache_control_int() / leon3_irq_manager()
(which are specific to the leon3 machine) to hw/sparc/leon3.c.
Move the trace events along (but don't rename them).
leon3_irq_ack() is now locally used, declare it static to reduce
its scope.

AMD IOMMU PTEs have a special mode allowing to specify an arbitrary page
size. Quoting the AMD IOMMU specification: "When the Next Level bits [of
a pte] are 7h, the size of the page is determined by the first zero bit
in the page address, starting from bit 12."
So if the lowest bits of the page address is 0, the page is 8kB. If the
lowest bits are 011, the page is 32kB. Currently pte_override_page_mask()
doesn't compute the right value for this page size and amdvi_translate()
can return the wrong guest-physical address. With a Linux guest, DMA
from SATA devices accesses the wrong memory and causes probe failure:

* to reset a XiveSource object it has
Neither it nor the XiveSource have any qbuses, so the new
device_cold_reset() function (which resets both the device and its
child buses) is equivalent here to device_legacy_reset() and we can
just switch to the new API.

At this moment, PAPR does not provide a way to report errors during a
device removal operation. This led the pSeries machine to implement
extra mechanisms to try to fallback and recover from an error that might
have happened during the hotunplug in the guest side. This started to
change a bit with commit fe1831eff8 ("spapr_drc.c: use DRC
reconfiguration to cleanup DIMM unplug state"), where one way to
fallback from a memory removal error was introduced.
Around the same time, in [1], the idea of using RTAS set-indicator for
this role was first introduced. The RTAS set-indicator call, when
attempting to UNISOLATE a DRC that is already UNISOLATED or CONFIGURED,
returns RTAS_OK and does nothing else for both QEMU and phyp. This gives
us an opportunity to use this behavior to signal the hypervisor layer
when a device removal errir happens, allowing QEMU/phyp to do a proper
error handling. Using set-indicator to report HP errors isn't strange to
PAPR, as per R1-13.5.3.4-4. of table 13.7 of current PAPR [2]:
"For all DR options: If this is a DR operation that involves the user
insert- ing a DR entity, then if the firmware can determine that the
inserted entity would cause a system disturbance, then the set-indicator
RTAS call must not unisolate the entity and must return an error status
which is unique to the particular error."
A change was proposed to the pSeries Linux kernel to call set-indicator
to move a DRC to 'unisolate' in the case of a hotunplug error in the
guest side [3]. Setting a DRC that is already unisolated or configured to
'unisolate' is a no-op (returns RTAS_OK) for QEMU and also for phyp.
Being a benign change for hypervisors that doesn't care about handling
such errors, we expect the kernel to accept this change at some point.
This patch prepares the pSeries machine for this new kernel feature by
changing drc_unisolate_logical() to handle guest side hotunplug errors.
For CPUs it's a simple matter of setting drc->unplug_requested to 'false',
while for LMBs the process is similar to the rollback that is done in
rtas_ibm_configure_connector().

Up to this patch, 'max_cpus' value is hardcoded to 1024 (commit
6244bb7e58). In theory this patch would simply bump it to 2048, since
it's the default NR_CPUS kernel setting for ppc64 servers nowadays, but
the whole mechanic of MachineClass:max_cpus is flawed for the pSeries
machine. The two supported accelerators, KVM and TCG, can live without
it.
TCG guests don't have a theoretical limit. The user must be free to
emulate as many CPUs as the hardware is capable of. And even if there
were a limit, max_cpus is not the proper way to report it since it's a
common value checked by SMP code in machine_smp_parse() for KVM as well.
For KVM guests, the proper way to limit KVM CPUs is by host
configuration via NR_CPUS, not a QEMU hardcoded value. There is no
technical reason for a pSeries QEMU guest to forcefully stay below
NR_CPUS.
This hardcoded value also disregard hosts that might have a lower
NR_CPUS limit, say 512. In this case, machine.c:machine_smp_parse() will
allow a 1024 value to pass, but then kvm_init() will complain about it
because it will exceed NR_CPUS:
Number of SMP cpus requested (1024) exceeds the maximum cpus supported
by KVM (512)
A better 'max_cpus' value would consider host settings, but
MachineClass::max_cpus is defined well before machine_init() and
kvm_init(). We can't check for KVM limits because it's too soon, so we
end up making a guess.
This patch makes MachineClass:max_cpus settings innocuous by setting it
to INT32_MAX. machine.c:machine_smp_parse() will not fail the
verification based on max_cpus, letting kvm_init() do the checking with
actual host settings. And TCG guests get to do whatever the hardware is
capable of emulating.

Add support for H_SCM_HEALTH hcall described at [1] for spapr
nvdimms. This enables guest to detect the 'unarmed' status of a
specific spapr nvdimm identified by its DRC and if its unarmed, mark
the region backed by the nvdimm as read-only.
The patch adds h_scm_health() to handle the H_SCM_HEALTH hcall which
returns two 64-bit bitmaps (health bitmap, health bitmap mask) derived
from 'struct nvdimm->unarmed' member.
Linux kernel side changes to enable handling of 'unarmed' nvdimms for
ppc64 are proposed at [2].

Add new machine called pegasos2 emulating the Genesi/bPlan Pegasos II,
a PowerPC board based on the Marvell MV64361 system controller and the
VIA VT8231 integrated south bridge/superio chips. It can run Linux,
AmigaOS and a wide range of MorphOS versions. Currently a firmware ROM
image is needed to boot and only MorphOS has a video driver to produce
graphics output. Linux could work too but distros that supported this
machine don't include usual video drivers so those only run with
serial console for now.

The Marvell Discovery II aka. MV64361 is a PowerPC system controller
chip that is used on the pegasos2 PPC board. This adds emulation of it
that models the device enough to boot guests on this board. The
mv643xx.h header with register definitions is taken from Linux 4.15.10
only fixing white space errors, removing not needed parts and changing
formatting for QEMU coding style.

To allow reusing ISA bridge emulation for vt8231_isa move the device
state of vt82c686b_isa emulation in an abstract via_isa class. This
change breaks migration back compatibility but this is not an issue
for Fuloong2E machine which is not versioned or migration supported.

The VT8231 south bridge is very similar to VT82C686B but there are
some differences in register addresses and functionality, e.g. the
VT8231 only has one serial port. This commit adds VT8231_SUPERIO
subclass based on the abstract VIA_SUPERIO class to emulate the
superio part of VT8231.

On Mac99 and newer machines, the Uninorth PCI host bridge maps
the PCI hole region at 2GiB, so the RAM area beside 2GiB is not
accessible by the CPU. Restrict the memory to 2GiB to avoid
problems such the one reported in the buglink.

When we introduced support for the AST2600 SoC, the XDMA controller
was forgotten. It went unnoticed because it's not used under emulation.
But the register layout being different, the reset procedure is bogus
and this breaks kexec.
Add a AspeedXDMAClass to take into account the register differences.

The HACE (Hash and Crypto Engine) is a device that offloads MD5, SHA1,
SHA2, RSA and other cryptographic algorithms.
This initial model implements a subset of the device's functionality;
currently only MD5/SHA hashing, and on the ast2600's scatter gather
engine.

Currently the gpex PCI controller implements no special behaviour for
guest accesses to areas of the PIO and MMIO where it has not mapped
any PCI devices, which means that for Arm you end up with a CPU
exception due to a data abort.
Most host OSes expect "like an x86 PC" behaviour, where bad accesses
like this return -1 for reads and ignore writes. In the interests of
not being surprising, make host CPU accesses to these windows behave
as -1/discard where there's no mapped PCI device.
The old behaviour generally didn't cause any problems, because
almost always the guest OS will map the PCI devices and then only
access where it has mapped them. One corner case where you will see
this kind of access is if Linux attempts to probe legacy ISA
devices via a PIO window access. So far the only case where we've
seen this has been via the syzkaller fuzzer.
