3b295bcb32 accel: Rename HVF 'struct hvf_vcpu_state' -> AccelCPUState
We want all accelerators to share the same opaque pointer in
CPUState.

Rename the 'hvf_vcpu_state' structure as 'AccelCPUState'.

Use the generic 'accel' field of CPUState instead of 'hvf'.

Replace g_malloc0() by g_new0() for readability.

58e8f1f616 accel/tcg: Store some tlb flags in CPUTLBEntryFull
We have run out of bits we can use within the CPUTLBEntry comparators,
as TLB_FLAGS_MASK cannot overlap alignment.

Store slow_flags[] in CPUTLBEntryFull, and merge with the flags from
the comparator. A new TLB_FORCE_SLOW bit is set within the comparator
as an indication that the slow path must be used.

Move TLB_BSWAP to TLB_SLOW_FLAGS_MASK. Since we are out of bits,
we cannot create a new bit without moving an old one.

3b6f485275 kvm: reuse per-vcpu stats fd to avoid vcpu interruption
A regression has been detected in latency testing of KVM guests.
More specifically, it was observed that the cyclictest
numbers inside of an isolated vcpu (running on isolated pcpu) are:

Where a maximum of 50us is acceptable.

The implementation of KVM_GET_STATS_FD uses run_on_cpu to query
per vcpu statistics, which interrupts the vcpu (and is unnecessary).

To fix this, open the per vcpu stats fd on vcpu initialization,
and read from that fd from QEMU's main thread.

eb2edc42b1 hvf: add guest debugging handlers for Apple Silicon hosts
Guests can now be debugged through the gdbstub. Support is added for

06831001ac atomics: eliminate mb_read/mb_set
qatomic_mb_read and qatomic_mb_set were the very first atomic primitives
introduced for QEMU; their semantics are unclear and they provide a false
sense of safety.

The last use of qatomic_mb_read() has been removed, so delete it.
qatomic_mb_set() instead can survive as an optimized
qatomic_set()+smp_mb(), similar to Linux's smp_store_mb(), but
rename it to qatomic_set_mb() to match the order of the two
operations.

238f43809a tcg: Widen CPUTLBEntry comparators to 64-bits
This makes CPUTLBEntry agnostic to the address size of the guest.
When 32-bit addresses are in effect, we can simply read the low
32 bits of the 64-bit field. Similarly when we need to update
the field for setting TLB_NOTDIRTY.

For TCG backends that could in theory be big-endian, but in
practice are not (arm, loongarch, riscv), use QEMU_BUILD_BUG_ON
to document and ensure this is not accidentally missed.

For s390x, which is always big-endian, use HOST_BIG_ENDIAN anyway,
to document the reason for the adjustment.

For sparc64 and ppc64, always perform a 64-bit load, and rely on
the following 32-bit comparison to ignore the high bits.

Rearrange mips and ppc if ladders for clarity.

367189efae accel/tcg: include cs_base in our hash calculations
We weren't using cs_base in the hash calculations before. Since the
arm front end moved a chunk of flags in a378206a20 (target/arm: Move

part of the execution state.

Widen the tb_hash_func to include cs_base and expand to qemu_xxhash8()

My initial benchmark shows very little difference in the

856e23a0fb kvm: Enable dirty ring for arm64
arm64 has different capability from x86 to enable the dirty ring, which
is KVM_CAP_DIRTY_LOG_RING_ACQ_REL. Besides, arm64 also needs the backup
bitmap extension (KVM_CAP_DIRTY_LOG_RING_WITH_BITMAP) when 'kvm-arm-gicv3'
or 'arm-its-kvm' device is enabled. Here the extension is always enabled
and the unnecessary overhead to do the last stage of dirty log synchronization
when those two devices aren't used is introduced, but the overhead should
be very small and acceptable. The benefit is cover future cases where those
two devices are used without modifying the code.

1e493be587 migration: Add last stage indicator to global dirty log
The global dirty log synchronization is used when KVM and dirty ring
are enabled. There is a particularity for ARM64 where the backup
bitmap is used to track dirty pages in non-running-vcpu situations.
It means the dirty ring works with the combination of ring buffer
and backup bitmap. The dirty bits in the backup bitmap needs to
collected in the last stage of live migration.

In order to identify the last stage of live migration and pass it
down, an extra parameter is added to the relevant functions and
callbacks. This last stage indicator isn't used until the dirty
ring is enabled in the subsequent patches.

83ecdb18eb accel/tcg/tcg-accel-ops-rr: ensure fairness with icount
The round-robin scheduler will iterate over the CPU list with an
assigned budget until the next timer expiry and may exit early because
of a TB exit. This is fine under normal operation but with icount
enabled and SMP it is possible for a CPU to be starved of run time and
the system live-locks.

For example, booting a riscv64 platform with '-icount
shift=0,align=off,sleep=on -smp 2' we observe a livelock once the kernel
has timers enabled and starts performing TLB shootdowns. In this case
we have CPU 0 in M-mode with interrupts disabled sending an IPI to CPU
1. As we enter the TCG loop, we assign the icount budget to next timer
interrupt to CPU 0 and begin executing where the guest is sat in a busy
loop exhausting all of the budget before we try to execute CPU 1 which
is the target of the IPI but CPU 1 is left with no budget with which to
execute and the process repeats.

We try here to add some fairness by splitting the budget across all of
the CPUs on the thread fairly before entering each one. The CPU count
is cached on CPU list generation ID to avoid iterating the list on each
loop iteration. With this change it is possible to boot an SMP rv64
guest with icount enabled and no hangs.

the system and defined in multiple different places for softmmu vs
linux-user vs bsd-user.

While we're making this change, use qatomic_read() and qatomic_set()

3cfb0456c3 make one-insn-per-tb an accel option
This commit adds 'one-insn-per-tb' as a property on the TCG
accelerator object, so you can enable it with
   -accel tcg,one-insn-per-tb=on

It has the same behaviour as the existing '-singlestep' command line
option. We use a different name because 'singlestep' has always been
a confusing choice, because it doesn't have anything to do with
single-stepping the CPU. What it does do is force TCG emulation to
put one guest instruction in each TB, which can be useful in some
situations (such as analysing debug logs).

The existing '-singlestep' commandline options are decoupled from the
global 'singlestep' variable and instead now are syntactic sugar for
setting the accel property. (These can then go away after a
deprecation period.)

The global variable remains for the moment as:
 * what the TCG code looks at to change its behaviour
 * what HMP and QMP use to query and set the behaviour

In the following commits we'll clean those up to not directly

56adee407f kvm: dirty-ring: Fix race with vcpu creation
It's possible that we want to reap a dirty ring on a vcpu that is during
creation, because the vcpu is put onto list (CPU_FOREACH visible) before
initialization of the structures. In this case:

qemu_init_vcpu
    x86_cpu_realizefn
        cpu_exec_realizefn
            cpu_list_add      <---- can be probed by CPU_FOREACH
        qemu_init_vcpu
            cpus_accel->create_vcpu_thread(cpu);
                kvm_init_vcpu
                    map kvm_dirty_gfns  <--- kvm_dirty_gfns valid

Don't try to reap dirty ring on vcpus during creation or it'll crash.

1ff4a81bd3 tcg: use QTree instead of GTree
qemu-user can hang in a multi-threaded fork. One common
reason is that when creating a TB, between fork and exec
we manipulate a GTree whose memory allocator (GSlice) is
not fork-safe.

Although POSIX does not mandate it, the system's allocator
(e.g. tcmalloc, libc malloc) is probably fork-safe.

Fix some of these hangs by using QTree, which uses the system's
allocator regardless of the Glib version that we used at
configuration time.

Tested with the test program in the original bug report, i.e.:
```
void garble() {
  int pid = fork();
  if (pid == 0) {
    exit(0);
  } else {
    int wstatus;
    waitpid(pid, &wstatus, 0);
  }
}
void supragarble(unsigned depth) {
  if (depth == 0)
    return ;
  std::thread a(supragarble, depth-1);
  std::thread b(supragarble, depth-1);
  garble();
  a.join();
  b.join();
}
int main() {
  supragarble(10);
}
f75e4f2234 accel/xen: Fix DM state change notification in dm_restrict mode
When dm_restrict is set, QEMU isn't permitted to update the XenStore node
to indicate its running status. Previously, the xs_write() call would fail
but the failure was ignored.
However, in refactoring to allow for emulated XenStore operations, a new
call to xs_open() was added. That one didn't fail gracefully, causing a
fatal error when running in dm_restrict mode.
Partially revert the offending patch, removing the additional call to
xs_open() because the global 'xenstore' variable is still available; it
just needs to be used with qemu_xen_xs_write() now instead of directly
with the xs_write() libxenstore function.
Also make the whole thing conditional on !xen_domid_restrict. There's no
point even registering the state change handler to attempt to update the
XenStore node when we know it's destined to fail.
e2abfe5ec6 hw/xen: Rename xen_common.h to xen_native.h
This header is now only for native Xen code, not PV backends that may be
used in Xen emulation. Since the toolstack libraries may depend on the
the rule is that xen_native.h (and thus the toolstack library headers)
1770b2f2d3 accel/tcg: Add 'size' param to probe_access_flags()
probe_access_flags() as it is today uses probe_access_full(), which in
turn uses probe_access_internal() with size = 0. probe_access_internal()
then uses the size to call the tlb_fill() callback for the given CPU.
This size param ('fault_size' as probe_access_internal() calls it) is
ignored by most existing .tlb_fill callback implementations, e.g.
arm_cpu_tlb_fill(), ppc_cpu_tlb_fill(), x86_cpu_tlb_fill() and
mips_cpu_tlb_fill() to name a few.
But RISC-V riscv_cpu_tlb_fill() actually uses it. The 'size' parameter
is used to check for PMP (Physical Memory Protection) access. This is
necessary because PMP does not make any guarantees about all the bytes
of the same page having the same permissions, i.e. the same page can
have different PMP properties, so we're forced to make sub-page range
checks. To allow RISC-V emulation to do a probe_acess_flags() that
covers PMP, we need to either add a 'size' param to the existing
probe_acess_flags() or create a new interface (e.g.
probe_access_range_flags).
There are quite a few probe_* APIs already, so let's add a 'size' param
to probe_access_flags() and re-use this API. This is done by open coding
what probe_access_full() does inside probe_acess_flags() and passing the
'size' param to probe_acess_internal(). Existing probe_access_flags()
callers use size = 0 to not change their current API usage. 'size' is
asserted to enforce single page access like probe_access() already does.
No behavioral changes intended.
5b5968c477 replay: Extract core API to 'exec/replay-core.h'
replay API is used deeply within TCG common code (common to user
and system emulation). Unfortunately "sysemu/replay.h" requires
some QAPI headers for few system-specific declarations, example:
  void replay_input_event(QemuConsole *src, InputEvent *evt);
Since commit c2651c0eaa ("qapi/meson: Restrict UI module to system
emulation and tools") the QAPI header defining the InputEvent is
not generated anymore.
To keep it simple, extract the 'core' replay prototypes to a new
"exec/replay-core.h" header which we include in the TCG code that
doesn't need the rest of the replay API.
