99522f69d6 ui: introduce "password-secret" option for SPICE server
Currently when using SPICE the "password" option provides the password
in plain text on the command line. This is insecure as it is visible
to all processes on the host. As an alternative, the password can be
provided separately via the monitor.

This introduces a "password-secret" option which lets the password be
provided up front.

d1929069e3 ui/cocoa: Fix mouse association state
ui/cocoa deassociates the mouse input and the mouse cursor
position only when relative movement inputs are expected. Such
inputs may let the mouse cursor leave the view and cause undesired
side effects if they are associated. On the other hand, the
problem does not occur when inputting absolute points, and the
association allows seamless cursor movement across views.

However, the synchronization of the association and the expected
input type was only done when grabbing the mouse. In reality, the
state whether the emulated input device expects absolute pointing
inputs or relative movement inputs can vary dynamically due to
USB device hot-plugging, for example.

This change adds association state updates according to input type
expectation changes. It also removes an internal flag representing
the association state because the state can now be determined with
the current input type expectation and it only adds the
complexity of the state tracking.

6d73bb643a ui/cocoa: Clear modifiers whenever possible
ui/cocoa does not receive NSEventTypeFlagsChanged when it is not active,
and the modifier state can be desynchronized in such a situation.

[NSEvent -modifierFlags] tells whether a modifier is *not* pressed, so
check it whenever receiving an event and clear the modifier if it is not
pressed.

Note that [NSEvent -modifierFlags] does not tell if a certain modifier
*is* pressed because the documented mask for [NSEvent -modifierFlags]
generalizes left shift and right shift, for example. CapsLock is the
only exception. The pressed state is synchronized only with
NSEventTypeFlagsChanged.

This change also removes modifier keys from keycode map. If they
are input with NSEventTypeKeyDown or NSEventTypeKeyUp, it leads to
desynchronization. Although such a situation is not observed, they are
removed just in case.

Moreover, QKbdState is introduced for automatic key state tracking.

Thanks to Konstantin Nazarov for testing and finding a bug in this
change:

c821a58ee7 ui/console: Pass placeholder surface to displays
ui/console used to accept NULL as graphic console surface, but its
semantics was inconsistent among displays:
- cocoa and gtk-egl perform NULL dereference.
- egl-headless, spice and spice-egl do nothing.
- gtk releases underlying resources.
- sdl2-2d and sdl2-gl destroys the window.
- vnc shows a message, "Display output is not active."

Fortunately, only virtio-gpu and virtio-gpu-3d assign NULL so
we can study them to figure out the desired behavior. They assign
NULL *except* for the primary display when the device is realized,
reset, or its scanout is disabled. This effectively destroys
windows for the (uninitialized) secondary displays.

To implement the consistent behavior of display device
realization/reset, this change embeds it to the operation
switching the surface. When NULL was given as a new surface when
switching, ui/console will instead passes a placeholder down
to each display listeners.

sdl destroys the window for a secondary console if its surface is a
placeholder. The other displays simply shows the placeholder.

b5a087b071 ui/console: Add placeholder flag to message surface
The surfaces created with former qemu_create_message_surface
did not display the content from the guest and always contained
simple messages describing the reason.

A display backend may want to hide the window showing such a
surface. This change renames the function to
qemu_create_placeholder_surface, and adds "placeholder" flag; the
display can check the flag to decide to do anything special like
hiding the window.

bc6a3565c8 configure: Improve OpenGL dependency detections
This has the following visible changes:

- GBM is required only for OpenGL dma-buf.
- X11 is explicitly required by gtk-egl.
- EGL is now mandatory for the OpenGL displays.

The last one needs some detailed description. Before this change,
EGL was tested only for OpenGL dma-buf with the check of
EGL_MESA_image_dma_buf_export. However, all of the OpenGL
displays depend on EGL and EGL_MESA_image_dma_buf_export is always
defined by epoxy's EGL interface.
Therefore, it makes more sense to always check the presence of EGL
and say the OpenGL displays are available along with OpenGL dma-buf
if it is present.

d9c32b8f7f ui/cocoa: Fix stride resolution of pixman image
A display can receive an image which its stride is greater than its
width. In fact, when a guest requests virtio-gpu to scan out a
smaller part of an image, virtio-gpu passes it to a display as an
image which its width represents the one of the part and its stride
equals to the one of the whole image.

This change makes ui/cocoa to cover such cases.

8eb13bbbac ui/gtk: vte: fix sending multiple characeters
When using the GTK UI with libvte, multicharacter keystrokes are not
sent correctly (such as arrow keys). gd_vc_in should check the
CharBackend's can_receive instead of assuming multiple characters can be
received. This is not an issue for e.g. the SDL UI because
qemu_chr_be_write is called with len=1 for each character (SDL sends
more than once keystroke).

Modify gd_vc_in to call qemu_chr_be_write multiple times if necessary.

1e8b6f2b49 ui/cocoa: Remove the uses of full screen APIs
The detections of [NSView -enterFullScreen:] and
[NSView -exitFullScreen:] were wrong. A detection is coded as:
[NSView respondsToSelector:@selector(exitFullScreenModeWithOptions:)]
but it should be:
[NSView instancesRespondToSelector:@selector(exitFullScreenModeWithOptions:)]

Because of those APIs were not detected, ui/cocoa always falled
back to a borderless window whose frame matches the screen to
implement fullscreen behavior.

The code using [NSView -enterFullScreen:] and
[NSView -exitFullScreen:] will be used if you fix the detections,
but its behavior is undesirable; the full screen view stretches
the video, changing the aspect ratio, even if zooming is disabled.

This change removes the code as it does nothing good.

4295f8365c ui/cocoa: Interpret left button down as is when command is pressed
Old Macs were not equipped with mice with an ability to perform
"right clicks" and ui/cocoa interpreted left button down with
left command key pressed as right button down as a workaround.

The workaround has an obvious downside: you cannot tell the guest
that the left button is down while the left command key is
pressed.

Today, Macs has trackpads, Apple Mice, or Magic Mice. They are
capable to emulate right clicks with gestures, which also allows
to perform right clicks on "BootCamp" OSes like Windows.

By removing the workaround, we overcome its downside, and provide
a behavior consistent with BootCamp.

c0ff29d188 ui/cocoa: Do not copy members of pixman image
The old CocoaView had an idea of synchronizing the host window
configuration and the guest screen configuration. Here, the guest screen
actually means pixman image given ui/cocoa display implementation.

However, [CocoaView -drawRect:] directly interacts with the pixman
image buffer in reality. There is no such distinction of "host" and
"guest." This change removes the "host" configuration and let drawRect
consistently have the direct reference to pixman image. It allows to
get rid of the error-prone "sync" and reduce code size a bit.

3cddb8b9e0 display/ui: add a callback to indicate GL state is flushed
Displaying rendered resources requires blocking qemu GPU to avoid extra
framebuffer copies. For an external display, via Spice currently, there
is a callback to block/unblock the rendering in the same thread.

But with the vhost-user-gpu backend, the qemu process doesn't handle
the rendering itself, and the blocking callback isn't effective.
Instead, the backend must be notified when the display code is done.

Fix this by adding a new GraphicHwOps callback to indicate the GL state
is flushed, and we are done manipulating the shared GL resources. Call
it from gtk and spice display.

Older gtk-vnc versions can't deal with non-incremental update
requests sending pseudo-encodings, so trying to send full server

pseudo-encodings) doesn't fly. Return to old behavior to send
those only for new connects and when changes happen.

763deea7e9 vnc: add support for extended desktop resize
The extended desktop resize encoding adds support for (a) clients
sending resize requests to the server, and (b) multihead support.

This patch implements (a). All resize requests are rejected by qemu.
Qemu can't resize the framebuffer on its own, this is in the hands of
the guest, so all qemu can do is forward the request to the guest.
Should the guest actually resize the framebuffer we can notify the vnc
client later with a separate message.

This requires support in the display device. Works with virtio-gpu.

9e1632ad07 vnc: move initialization to framebuffer_update_request
qemu sends various state info like current cursor shape to newly connected
clients in response to a set_encoding message. This is not correct according
to the rfb spec. Send that information in response to a full (incremental=0)
framebuffer update request instead. Also send the resize information
unconditionally, not only in case of an actual server-side change.

This makes the qemu vnc server conform to the spec and allows clients to
request the complete vnc server state without reconnect.

7b5fa0b583 ui: add support for remote power control to VNC server
The "XVP" (Xen VNC Proxy) extension defines a mechanism for a VNC client
to issue power control requests to trigger graceful shutdown, reboot, or
hard reset.

This option is not enabled by default, since we cannot assume that users
with VNC access implicitly have administrator access to the guest OS.

Thus is it enabled with a boolean "power-control" option e.g.

   -vnc :1,power-control=on

While, QEMU can easily support shutdown and reset, there's no easy way
to wire up reboot support at this time. In theory it could be done by
issuing a shutdown, followed by a reset, but there's no convenient
wiring for such a pairing in QEMU. It also isn't possible to have the
VNC server directly talk to QEMU guest agent, since the agent chardev is
typically owned by an external mgmt app.

cab82424f6 ui/gtk: update monitor interval on egl displays
When running QEMU's GTK UI without EGL or OGL, the
gd_monitor_update_interval function gets executed and the display refresh
rate gets updated accordingly. However, when using EGL or just regular
OGL, the function never gets executed.

Which is why I decided that the function should be in gd_egl_refresh
where the display output gets updated, in the same vain as how it's done
for normal GTK UIs (aka. those without EGL) - in it's display refresh
function.

Since the gd_monitor_update_interval function now is exposed, we are
going to use it to update the refresh rate.

0fdc99775c ui/gtk: expose gd_monitor_update_interval
The gd_egl_refresh function, as the name suggests, is responsible for
refreshing displays when using EGL graphics with QEMU's GTK UI. This is
a perfect candidate for a function to update the refresh rate in.

Since gd_monitor_update_interval is inaccessible from the gd_egl_refresh
function, we need to expose/globalize it in the include/ui/gtk.h file.

3c4b8f8310 ui/gtk: limit virtual console max update interval
Limit the virtual console maximum update interval to
GUI_REFRESH_INTERVAL_DEFAULT. This papers over a integer
overflow bug in gtk3 on Windows where the reported monitor
refresh frequency can be much smaller than the real refresh
frequency.

The gtk bug report can be found here:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gtk/-/issues/3394

On my Windows 10 system gtk reports a monitor refresh rate of
1.511Hz instead of 60.031Hz and slows down the screen update
rate in qemu to a crawl. Provided you are affected by the gtk
bug on Windows, these are the steps to reproduce the issue:

Start qemu with -display gtk and activate all qemu virtual
consoles and notice the reduced qemu refresh rate. Activating
all virtual consoles is necessary, because gui_update() in
ui/console.c uses the minimum of all display change listeners
update interval and not yet activated virtual consoles report
the default update interval (30ms).

54aa3de72e qapi: Use QAPI_LIST_PREPEND() where possible
Anywhere we create a list of just one item or by prepending items
(typically because order doesn't matter), we can use
QAPI_LIST_PREPEND(). But places where we must keep the list in order
by appending remain open-coded until later patches.

Note that as a side effect, this also performs a cleanup of two minor
issues in qga/commands-posix.c: the old code was performing
 new = g_malloc0(sizeof(*ret));
which 1) is confusing because you have to verify whether 'new' and
'ret' are variables with the same type, and 2) would conflict with C++
compilation (not an actual problem for this file, but makes
copy-and-paste harder).

074a86d0b3 vnc: add alpha cursor support
There is a new vnc extension for cursors with an alpha channel. Use
it if supported by the vnc client, prefer it over the "rich cursor"
extension which supports only a bitmask for transparency.

This is a visible improvement especially on modern desktops which
actually use the alpha channel when defining cursors.

2ddafce7f7 vnc: fix resource leak when websocket channel error
When we connect to vnc by websocket channel, and disconnect
(maybe by some network exception) before handshake,
qemu will left CLOSE_WAIT socket and never close it

After 04d2529da2 ("ui: convert VNC server to use QIOChannelSocket")
and dd154c4d9f ("io: fix handling of EOF / error conditions in websock GSource"),
the vnc call qio_channel_add_watch only care about G_IO_IN,
but mising G_IO_HUP and G_IO_ERR.
When the websocket channel get EOF or error, it cannot callback,
because the caller ignore the event, that leads to resource leak

We need handle G_IO_HUP and G_IO_ERR event, then cleanup the channel

0d9b90ce5c console: make QMP/HMP screendump run in coroutine
Thanks to the monitors' coroutine support (merge commit b7092cda1b),
the screendump handler can trigger a graphic_hw_update(), yield and let
the main loop run until update is done. Then the handler is resumed, and
ppm_save() will write the screen image to disk in the coroutine context.

The IO is still blocking though, as the file is set blocking so far,
this could be addressed by some future change (with other caveats).

7477477ca7 spice: add QemuSpiceOps, move migrate_info
Add QemuSpiceOps struct. This struct holds function pointers to the
spice functions. It will be initialized with pointers to the stub
functions. When spice gets initialized the function pointers will
be re-written to the real functions.

The spice stubs will move from qemu-spice.h to spice-module.c for that,
because they will be needed for both "CONFIG_SPICE=n" and "CONFIG_SPICE=y
but spice module not loaded" cases.

This patch adds the infrastructure and starts with moving
qemu_spice_migrate_info() to QemuSpiceOps.

c734cd40a1 qom: Remove ParentClassType argument from OBJECT_DECLARE_SIMPLE_TYPE
The requirement to specify the parent class type makes the macro
harder to use and easy to misuse (silent bugs can be introduced
if the wrong struct type is specified).

Simplify the macro by just not declaring any class struct,
allowing us to remove the class_size field from the TypeInfo
variables for those types.

b15e402fc8 trace-events: Fix attribution of trace points to source
Some trace points are attributed to the wrong source file. Happens
when we neglect to update trace-events for code motion, or add events
in the wrong place, or misspell the file name.

Clean up with help of scripts/cleanup-trace-events.pl. Funnies
requiring manual post-processing:

* accel/tcg/cputlb.c trace points are in trace-events.

* block.c and blockdev.c trace points are in block/trace-events.

* hw/block/nvme.c uses the preprocessor to hide its trace point use
  from cleanup-trace-events.pl.

* hw/tpm/tpm_spapr.c uses pseudo trace point tpm_spapr_show_buffer to
  guard debug code.

* include/hw/xen/xen_common.h trace points are in hw/xen/trace-events.

* linux-user/trace-events abbreviates a tedious list of filenames to
  */signal.c.

* net/colo-compare and net/filter-rewriter.c use pseudo trace points
  colo_compare_miscompare and colo_filter_rewriter_debug to guard
  debug code.

db1015e92e Move QOM typedefs and add missing includes
Some typedefs and macros are defined after the type check macros.
This makes it difficult to automatically replace their
definitions with OBJECT_DECLARE_TYPE.

Patch generated using:

 $ ./scripts/codeconverter/converter.py -i \
   --pattern=QOMStructTypedefSplit $(git grep -l '' -- '*.[ch]')

which will split "typdef struct { ... } TypedefName"
declarations.

Followed by:

 $ ./scripts/codeconverter/converter.py -i --pattern=MoveSymbols \
    $(git grep -l '' -- '*.[ch]')

which will:
- move the typedefs and #defines above the type check macros
- add missing #include "qom/object.h" lines if necessary

feabc71dfa configure: do not include dependency flags in QEMU_CFLAGS and LIBS
All Meson executables should specify their dependencies explicitly, either
directly or indirectly via declare_dependency. Makefiles instead did
not propagate dependencies correctly from static libraries, for example.
Therefore, flags for dependencies need not be included in QEMU_CFLAGS.
LIBS is not used at all, so drop that one as well.

In a few cases the dependencies were not yet specified, so add them.

dc26435edb ui/gtk: Update refresh interval after widget is realized
Nikola reported on Windows when gd_vc_gfx_init() is called, the
window is not yet realized, so we run gd_refresh_rate_millihz(NULL)
which returns 0 milli-Hertz.
When a Widget is realized, it fires a 'realized' event. We already
have the gd_draw_event() handler registered for this even, so simply
move the gd_refresh_rate_millihz() there. When the event fires, the
window is known to exist.
This completes commit c4c00922cc original intention.

Add support for SIDE and EXTRA buttons.

The constants for buttons in both SPICE and QEMU are defined as
  LEFT
  MIDDLE
  RIGHT
  UP
  DOWN
  SIDE
  EXTRA
(same order).

"button_mask" contains for each bit the state of a button. Qemu currently
uses bits 0, 1, 2 respectively as LEFT, RIGHT, MIDDLE; also add bits 4
and 5 as UP and DOWN (using wheel movements). SPICE protocol uses
a bitmask based on the order above where LEFT is bit 0, MIDDLE is
bit 1 and so on till EXTRA being bit 6. To avoid clash with Qemu usage
SPICE bitmask from SIDE are move a bit more resulting respectively
in 0x40 and 0x80 values.

139c1837db meson: rename included C source files to .c.inc
With Makefiles that have automatically generated dependencies, you
generated includes are set as dependencies of the Makefile, so that they
are built before everything else and they are available when first
building the .c files.

Alternatively you can use a fine-grained dependency, e.g.

        target/arm/translate.o: target/arm/decode-neon-shared.inc.c

With Meson you have only one choice and it is a third option, namely
"build at the beginning of the corresponding target"; the way you
express it is to list the includes in the sources of that target.

The problem is that Meson decides if something is a source vs. a
generated include by looking at the extension: '.c', '.cc', '.m', '.C'
are sources, while everything else is considered an include---including
'.inc.c'.

Use '.c.inc' to avoid this, as it is consistent with our other convention
of using '.rst.inc' for included reStructuredText files. The editorconfig
file is adjusted.

243af0225a trace: switch position of headers to what Meson requires
Meson doesn't enjoy the same flexibility we have with Make in choosing
the include path. In particular the tracing headers are using
$(build_root)/$(<D).

In order to keep the include directives unchanged,
the simplest solution is to generate headers with patterns like
"trace/trace-audio.h" and place forwarding headers in the source tree
such that for example "audio/trace.h" includes "trace/trace-audio.h".

This patch is too ugly to be applied to the Makefiles now. It's only
a way to separate the changes to the tracing header files from the
Meson rewrite of the tracing logic.

7b23d121f9 ui: increase min required GTK version to 3.22.0
Based on a mail on the qemu-devel mailing list at
https://lists.nongnu.org/archive/html/qemu-devel/2020-05/msg02909.html
and some internet research the GTK3 versions on supported
platforms are:

    RHEL-7.4: 3.22.10
    RHEL-7.5: 3.22.26
    Debian (Stretch): 3.22.11
    Debian (Buster): 3.24.5
    OpenBSD (Ports): 3.22.30
    FreeBSD (Ports): 3.22.29
    OpenSUSE Leap 15: 3.22.30
    SLE12-SP2: Unknown
    SLE15: 3.22.30
    Ubuntu (Bionic): 3.22.30
    Ubuntu (Focal): 3.24.18
    macOS (Homebrew): 3.22.30

This justifies increasing the minimum required GTK version in
QEMU to 3.22.0.

1454192746 ui/gtk: use native keyboard scancodes on Windows
Since GTK 3.22 the function gdk_event_get_scancode() is
available. On Windows this function returns keyboard scancodes
and some extended flags. These raw keyboard scancodes are much
better suited for this use case than the half-cooked win32
virtual-key codes because scancodes report the key position on
the keyboard and the positions are independent of national
language settings.

d3953bf797 ui/gtk: don't pass on win keys without keyboard grab
Without keyboard grab Windows currently handles the two win keys

keyboard is not grabbed" from project spice-gtk to ui/gtk.c to

d2623129a7 qom: Drop parameter @errp of object_property_add() & friends
The only way object_property_add() can fail is when a property with
the same name already exists. Since our property names are all
hardcoded, failure is a programming error, and the appropriate way to
handle it is passing &error_abort.

Same for its variants, except for object_property_add_child(), which
additionally fails when the child already has a parent. Parentage is
also under program control, so this is a programming error, too.

We have a bit over 500 callers. Almost half of them pass
&error_abort, slightly fewer ignore errors, one test case handles
errors, and the remaining few callers pass them to their own callers.

The previous few commits demonstrated once again that ignoring
programming errors is a bad idea.

Of the few ones that pass on errors, several violate the Error API.
The Error ** argument must be NULL, &error_abort, &error_fatal, or a
pointer to a variable containing NULL. Passing an argument of the
latter kind twice without clearing it in between is wrong: if the
first call sets an error, it no longer points to NULL for the second
call.  ich9_pm_add_properties(), sparc32_ledma_realize(),
sparc32_dma_realize(), xilinx_axidma_realize(), xilinx_enet_realize()
are wrong that way.

When the one appropriate choice of argument is &error_abort, letting
users pick the argument is a bad idea.

Drop parameter @errp and assert the preconditions instead.

There's one exception to "duplicate property name is a programming
error": the way object_property_add() implements the magic (and
undocumented) "automatic arrayification". Don't drop @errp there.
Instead, rename object_property_add() to object_property_try_add(),
and add the obvious wrapper object_property_add().

836e1b3813 qom/object: enable setter for uint types
Traditionally, the uint-specific property helpers only offer getters.
When adding object (or class) uint types, one must therefore use the
generic property helper if a setter is needed (and probably duplicate
some code writing their own getters/setters).

This enhances the uint-specific property helper APIs by adding a
bitwise-or'd 'flags' field and modifying all clients of that API to set
this paramater to OBJ_PROP_FLAG_READ. This maintains the current
behaviour whilst allowing others to also set OBJ_PROP_FLAG_WRITE (or use
the more convenient OBJ_PROP_FLAG_READWRITE) in the future (which will
automatically install a setter). Other flags may be added later.

483644c25b ui/cocoa: Drop workarounds for pre-10.12 OSX
Our official OSX support policy covers the last two released versions.
Currently that is 10.14 and 10.15. We also may work on older versions, but
don't guarantee it.

In commit 50290c002c in mid-2019 we introduced some uses of
CLOCK_MONOTONIC which incidentally broke compilation for pre-10.12 OSX
versions (see LP:1861551). We don't intend to fix that, so we might
as well drop the code in ui/cocoa.m which caters for pre-10.12
versions as well. (For reference, 10.11 fell out of Apple extended
security support in September 2018.)

a1e8853ed2 ui/console: Display the 'none' backend in '-display help'
Commit c388f408b5 added the possibility to list the display
backends using '-display help'. Since the 'none' backend is
is not implemented as a DisplayChangeListenerOps, it is not
registered to the dpys[] array with qemu_display_register(),
and is not listed in the help output.

This might be confusing, as we list it in the man page:

  -display type
Select type of display to use. This option is a replacement for
the old style -sdl/-curses/... options. Valid values for type are

      none
Do not display video output. The guest will still see an
emulated graphics card, but its output will not be displayed
to the QEMU user. This option differs from the -nographic
option in that it only affects what is done with video
output; -nographic also changes the destination of the serial
          and parallel port data.

Fix by manually listing the special 'none' backend in the help.

557ba0e572 vnc: prioritize ZRLE compression over ZLIB
In my investigation, ZRLE always compresses better than ZLIB so
prioritize ZRLE over ZLIB, even if the client hints that ZLIB is

0780ec7be8 Revert "vnc: allow fall back to RAW encoding"
This reverts commit de3f7de7f4.

Remove VNC optimization to reencode framebuffer update as raw if it's
smaller than the default encoding.

QEMU's implementation was naive and didn't account for the ZLIB z_stream
mutating with each compression. Because of the mutation, simply
resetting the output buffer's offset wasn't sufficient to "rewind" the
operation. The mutated z_stream would generate future zlib blocks which
referred to symbols in past blocks which weren't sent. This would lead
to artifacting.

Considering that ZRLE is never larger than raw and even though ZLIB can
occasionally be fractionally larger than raw, the overhead of
implementing this optimization correctly isn't worth it.

GTK+ provides convenient definition in <gdk/gdkversionmacros.h>
(already include by <gdk/gdk.h>) to check which API are available.

We only use the GdkMonitor API to get the monitor refresh rate.

Extract this code as a new gd_refresh_rate_millihz() function,
and check GDK_VERSION_3_22 is defined before calling its API.
If it is not defined, return 0. This is safe and fixes our build
failure (see https://travis-ci.org/qemu/qemu/builds/636992508).

c4c00922cc display/gtk: get proper refreshrate
Because some VMs in QEMU can get GPU virtualization (using technologies
such as iGVT-g, as mentioned previously), they could produce a video
output that had a higher display refresh rate than of what the GTK
display was displaying. (fxp. Playing a video game inside of a Windows
VM at 60 Hz, while the output stood locked at 33 Hz because of defaults
set in include/ui/console.h)

Since QEMU does indeed have internal systems for determining frame
times as defined in ui/console.c.
The code checks for a variable called update_interval that it later
uses for time calculation. This variable, however, isn't defined
anywhere in ui/gtk.c and instead ui/console.c just sets it to
GUI_REFRESH_INTERVAL_DEFAULT which is 30

update_interval represents the number of milliseconds per display
refresh, and by doing some math we get that 1000/30 = 33.33... Hz

This creates the mentioned problem and what this patch does is that it
checks for the display refresh rate reported by GTK itself (we can take
this as a safe value) and just converts it back to a number of
milliseconds per display refresh.

6bf21f3d83 vnc: fix memory leak when vnc disconnect
Currently when qemu receives a vnc connect, it creates a 'VncState' to
represent this connection. In 'vnc_worker_thread_loop' it creates a
local 'VncState'. The connection 'VcnState' and local 'VncState' exchange
data in 'vnc_async_encoding_start' and 'vnc_async_encoding_end'.
In 'zrle_compress_data' it calls 'deflateInit2' to allocate the libz library
opaque data. The 'VncState' used in 'zrle_compress_data' is the local
'VncState'. In 'vnc_zrle_clear' it calls 'deflateEnd' to free the libz
library opaque data. The 'VncState' used in 'vnc_zrle_clear' is the connection
'VncState'. In currently implementation there will be a memory leak when the
vnc disconnect. Following is the asan output backtrack:

Direct leak of 29760 byte(s) in 5 object(s) allocated from:
    0 0xffffa67ef3c3 in __interceptor_calloc (/lib64/libasan.so.4+0xd33c3)
    1 0xffffa65071cb in g_malloc0 (/lib64/libglib-2.0.so.0+0x571cb)
    2 0xffffa5e968f7 in deflateInit2_ (/lib64/libz.so.1+0x78f7)

    9 0xffffa544e8bb in start_thread (/lib64/libpthread.so.0+0x78bb)
    10 0xffffa53965cb in thread_start (/lib64/libc.so.6+0xd55cb)

This is because the opaque allocated in 'deflateInit2' is not freed in
'deflateEnd'. The reason is that the 'deflateEnd' calls 'deflateStateCheck'
and in the latter will check whether 's->strm != strm'(libz's data structure).
This check will be true so in 'deflateEnd' it just return 'Z_STREAM_ERROR' and
not free the data allocated in 'deflateInit2'.

The reason this happens is that the 'VncState' contains the whole 'VncZrle',
so when calling 'deflateInit2', the 's->strm' will be the local address.
So 's->strm != strm' will be true.

To fix this issue, we need to make 'zrle' of 'VncState' to be a pointer.
Then the connection 'VncState' and local 'VncState' exchange mechanism will
work as expection. The 'tight' of 'VncState' has the same issue, let's also turn
it to a pointer.

  section: screens
      localhost:
          ...
      VM-1:
          ...
      end

  section: links
      localhost:
          right = VM-1
      VM-1:
          left = localhost
  end

Then on the QEMU command line:

    ... -object input-barrier,id=barrie0,name=VM-1 ...

When the mouse will move out of the screen of the local host on
the right, the mouse and the keyboard will be grabbed and all
related events will be send to the guest OS.

This is usefull when qemu is configured without emulated graphic card
but with a VFIO attached graphic card.

More information about Barrier can be found at:

  https://github.com/debauchee/barrier

This avoids to install the Barrier server in the guest OS,
for instance when it is not supported or during the installation.

d2329237af ui/egl: fix framebuffer reads
Fix egl_fb_read() to use the (destination) surface size instead of the
(source) framebuffer source for glReadPixels. Pass the DisplaySurface
instead of the pixeldata pointer to egl_fb_read() to make this possible.

With that in place framebuffer reads work fine even if the surface and
framebuffer sizes don't match, so we can remove the guest-triggerable
asserts in egl_scanout_flush().

54d31236b9 sysemu: Split sysemu/runstate.h off sysemu/sysemu.h
sysemu/sysemu.h is a rather unfocused dumping ground for stuff related
to the system-emulator. Evidence:

* It's included widely: in my "build everything" tree, changing
sysemu/sysemu.h still triggers a recompile of some 1100 out of 6600
objects (not counting tests and objects that don't depend on
qemu/osdep.h, down from 5400 due to the previous two commits).

* It pulls in more than a dozen additional headers.

Split stuff related to run state management into its own header
sysemu/runstate.h.

Touching sysemu/sysemu.h now recompiles some 850 objects. qemu/uuid.h
also drops from 1100 to 850, and qapi/qapi-types-run-state.h from 4400
to 4200. Touching new sysemu/runstate.h recompiles some 500 objects.

Since I'm touching MAINTAINERS to add sysemu/runstate.h anyway, also
add qemu/main-loop.h.

d5938f29fe Clean up inclusion of sysemu/sysemu.h
In my "build everything" tree, changing sysemu/sysemu.h triggers a
recompile of some 5400 out of 6600 objects (not counting tests and
objects that don't depend on qemu/osdep.h).

Almost a third of its inclusions are actually superfluous. Delete
them. Downgrade two more to qapi/qapi-types-run-state.h, and move one
from char/serial.h to char/serial.c.

hw/semihosting/config.c, monitor/monitor.c, qdev-monitor.c, and
stubs/semihost.c define variables declared in sysemu/sysemu.h without
including it. The compiler is cool with that, but include it anyway.

This doesn't reduce actual use much, as it's still included into
widely included headers. The next commit will tackle that.

In my "build everything" tree, changing qemu/main-loop.h triggers a

qemu/processor.h, qemu/qsp.h, qemu/queue.h, qemu/thread-posix.h,
qemu/thread.h, qemu/timer.h, and a few more.

Include qemu/main-loop.h only where it's needed. Touching it now
recompiles only some 1700 objects. For block/aio.h and
qemu/event_notifier.h, these numbers drop from 5600 to 2800. For the
others, they shrink only slightly.

13d4ff07e8 trace: Do not include qom/cpu.h into generated trace.h
docs/devel/tracing.txt explains "since many source files include
trace.h, [the generated trace.h use] a minimum of types and other
header files included to keep the namespace clean and compile times
and dependencies down."

Commit 4815185902 "trace: Add per-vCPU tracing states for events with
the 'vcpu' property" made them all include qom/cpu.h via
control-internal.h. qom/cpu.h in turn includes about thirty headers.
Ouch.

Per-vCPU tracing is currently not supported in sub-directories'
trace-events. In other words, qom/cpu.h can only be used in
trace-root.h, not in any trace.h.

Split trace/control-vcpu.h off trace/control.h and
trace/control-internal.h. Have the generated trace.h include
trace/control.h (which no longer includes qom/cpu.h), and trace-root.h
include trace/control-vcpu.h (which includes it).

The resulting improvement is a bit disappointing: in my "build
everything" tree, some 1100 out of 6600 objects (not counting tests
and objects that don't depend on qemu/osdep.h) depend on a trace.h,
and about 600 of them no longer depend on qom/cpu.h. But more than
1300 others depend on trace-root.h. More work is clearly needed.
Left for another day.

2ae16a6aa4 Include generated QAPI headers less
Some of the generated qapi-types-MODULE.h are included all over the
place. Changing a QAPI type can trigger massive recompiling. Top
scorers recompile more than 1000 out of some 6600 objects (not
counting tests and objects that don't depend on qemu/osdep.h):

    6300 qapi/qapi-builtin-types.h
    5700 qapi/qapi-types-run-state.h
    3900 qapi/qapi-types-common.h
    3300 qapi/qapi-types-sockets.h

    3000 qapi/qapi-types-crypto.h
    3000 qapi/qapi-types-job.h
    3000 qapi/qapi-types-block-core.h
    2800 qapi/qapi-types-block.h
    1300 qapi/qapi-types-net.h

Clean up headers to include generated QAPI headers only where needed.
Impact is negligible except for hw/qdev-properties.h.

This header includes qapi/qapi-types-block.h and
qapi/qapi-types-misc.h. They are used only in expansions of property
definition macros such as DEFINE_PROP_BLOCKDEV_ON_ERROR() and
DEFINE_PROP_OFF_AUTO().  Moving their inclusion from
hw/qdev-properties.h to the users of these macros avoids pointless
recompiles. This is how other property definition macros, such as
DEFINE_PROP_NETDEV(), already work.

Improves things for some of the top scorers:

    3600 qapi/qapi-types-common.h
    2800 qapi/qapi-types-sockets.h
     900 qapi/qapi-types-misc.h
    2200 qapi/qapi-types-crypto.h
    2100 qapi/qapi-types-job.h
    2100 qapi/qapi-types-block-core.h

5b8541c6c7 console: fix cell overflow
Linux terminal behavior (coming from vt100 I think) is somewhat strange
when it comes to line wraps: When a character is printed to the last
char cell of a line the cursor does NOT jump to the next line but stays
where it is. The line feed happens when the next character is printed.

So the valid range for the cursor position is not 0 .. width-1 but
0 .. width, where x == width represents the state where the line is
full but the cursor didn't jump to the next line yet.

The code for the 'clear from start of line' control sequence (ESC[1K)
fails to handle this corner case correctly and may call
console_clear_xy() with x == width. That will incorrectly clear the
first char cell of the next line, or in case the cursor happens to be on
the last line overflow the cell buffer by one character (three bytes).

Add a check to the loop to fix that.

Didn't spot any other places with the same problem. But it's easy to
miss that corner case, so also allocate one extra cell as precaution, so
in case we have simliar issues lurking elsewhere it at least wouldn't be
a buffer overflow.

v2: squashed in additional checks suggested by Christophe de Dinechin.

2044dff870 ui/cocoa: Fix absolute input device grabbing issue on Mojave
On Mojave, absolute input device, i.e. tablet, had trouble re-grabbing
the cursor in re-entry into the virtual screen area. In some cases,
the `window` property of NSEvent object was nil after cursor exiting from
window, hinting that the `-locationInWindow` method would return value in
screen coordinates. The current implementation used raw locations from
NSEvent without considering whether the value was for the window coordinates
or the macOS screen coordinates, nor the zooming factor for Zoom-to-Fit in
fullscreen mode.

In fullscreen mode, the fullscreen cocoa window might not be the key
window, therefore the location of event in virtual coordinates should
suffice.

This patches fixed boundary check methods for cursor in normal
and fullscreen with/without Zoom-to-Fit in Mojave.

Note: CGRect, -convertRectToScreen: and -convertRectFromScreen: were
used in coordinates conversion for compatibility reason.

5fff13f245 kbd-state: fix autorepeat handling
When allowing multiple down-events in a row (key autorepeat) we can't
use change_bit() any more to update the state, because autorepeat events
don't change the key state. We have to explicitly use set_bit() and
clear_bit() instead.
