Accounts are now stored in a separate file. Previously they where somehow magically assembled from the chain ids. Now its possible to remove a account temporary by removing the account file form the account folder.
Each account could have an inbound protocol, an outbound protocol and some filters.
Mails are now associated with an account and not with a chain. This required to replace the chain id attribute by an account attribute.
Replace BMailFilter and BMailChain by a less general approach. Basically the chain had a list of filters and call the ProcessMailMessage for each filter. This made it sometime difficult to understand what is going on, e.g. sometimes a filter used information gathered by another filters. The new MailProtocol and MailFilter classes are calling more dedicated hook functions, e.g. HeaderFetched or MessageReadyToSend.
As before all MailProtocol's (plus their filters) are running in their own thread.
Cleaned up the error and status window a bit. Abstracted the interface to these windows. Should be easy to write a BNotification api back-end now.
Parsing of mail headers is much faster now. Fetching the headers of a large mailbox takes ~min and not ~hour now! Initial checkout time is in the same order like Opera. The problem was the massive use of fgets in parse_header (mail_util.cpp) now the complete header is read in one go. Furthermore, only interesting fields are extracted.
Remove some unused files, BeOS relicts... Feel free to translate the mail server and remove the own language system (headers/private/mail/MDRLanguage.h).
Sorry for the remaining old (and new) coding style issues, sometime just ignore them, to many :(

Instead of forcing a click to open rect this just restarts menu tracking if the
mouse was clicked. It seems to work great and is cleaner than my solution which
is removed in this commit as well.
This still fixes the problem of accidentially selecting menu items but also
maintains the API.

This fixes#7022 and is mostly based on the patch attached to that ticket, with
these changes:
- The patch was adding this to the private _TextInput_ class, not BTextView.
- The patch had a Clear menu item too. I removed that due to the different
semantics between Clear in a BTextView and in a TextInput. The former just
clears the selection where the latter clears the whole view.
We could later add a virtual callback for adding menu items to this context
menu which could be used to add Clear with the two semantics in each class
(this is mainly needed for the enabling logic...each class could handle a clear
message in its own way.) This callback could also obviously be used for other
things, like a spell-check menu or whatever an application would want to add.
Since BTextView has 10 free virtual slots it seems reasonable to add.

If the menu opens right under the mouse cursor, do not select or invoke an item
until the mouse is moved. Since this seems to break normal menu bars, I added
the check for fSuper. As a (bad?) side effect BMenuField menus also need mouse
movement before something is selected. If anything else is broken, let me know.
I'm committing this because it does remove some bad behavior in pop up menus
(unintentionally selecting items.)
We may also want to force the openAnyway behavior as discussed on the mailing
list in December.
In general though the menu handling code really should be redesigned/refactored.

This makes the print_server
1) resistant to add-on crashes
2) and memory leaks in add-ons
3) license of an add-on cannot influence the
license of the print_server since it does not
directly load the add-on anymore; might be
an issue with GPL printer drivers like Gutenprint
Transport add-ons directly loaded by the print_server
should be moved outside the print_server too.
Right now I am not aware that the transport add-ons
in the repository have any of the issues.
The Gutenprint driver has 2 + 3 that was the main
motivation to implement that now.
Disabled for now until the launch issue is resolved.
BRoster does not find the application by its
signature until it is opened in Tracker once.

* Modify locale roster method for getting a flag so it is a bit more tolerant. It is case insensitive on the country code, and also works if given a full locale code such as pt_BR.
Known problems :
* The new BitmapTextView doesn't work well with the chinese text as it does line breaks only on space chars (0x20), and there is no such char in chinese text. However, the usual BTextView is also unable to do proper linebreaking. This should
be solved by using tools provided by ICU.
* The way I altered LocaleRoster is not as good as it could be. Locales with variants such as zh-hans are not going to work (the computed country code is now 'NS'). Not sure there is a better way
* The way the list is sorted in ReadOnlyBootPrompt is annoying as it prevents keyboard navigation. As the sorting changes each time you select a language, it's impossible to travel through the whole list. One possible solution is to do the
language change on invoking an item. Another one is to sort the languages in a locale-neutral way.

Integrated the classes in the Network Kit (libbnetapi.so). Only the foundation
classed BUrl, BUrlContext, BNetworkCookie, BNetworkCookieJar and the private
HttpTime code is currently compiled. The BUrlProtocol currently contains some
misplaced BUrlProtocolHttp specific stuff, and the HTTP stuff itself has a
dependency on libcrypto and should live in an add-on instead. I've sprinkled
some TODOs in the code, and I've done some renaming compared to the last
version of the GSoC patch. Any help to bring this further along is appreciated.

AVFormatWriter:
* Adjust the AVCodecContext flags not only for video, but also

mixes the formatting conventions into the current language's locale
when formatting dates and times (needs to be done for number- and
currency-formatting, too, since the digits may not be in the

with B_OP_COPY (still the default). Should not have any
consequences in any existing use-case. The MediaPlayer can
use BTextViews to render semi-transparent subtitles this way.

the super type is only regarded for "installed" MIME types.
The comment says that uninstalled MIME types are assumed
to be application MIME types, but this is clearly not always
the case. Initializing the secondary signature regardless
fixes the problem that unkown document MIME types open in
a random application, even though their super type has a
preferred handler. If the type is indeed an application
itself, I suppose no harm is done, since the primary
signature takes precedence anyway. Closes ticket #4501.

SeekedTo(), since it's only informative to decoders. They
can't modify the seeked frame/time. This also mirrors what
all existing decoders were doing in Seek(). BMediaTrack
is simplified accordingly (resolved two TODOs).

modified the time, don't let the decoder
overwrite the actually seeked time. I am thinking
the API should be called SeekedTo() or Seeked(),
and would be purely informative for decoders,
without even a return value.

removed rows in OutlineView::RemoveRow(BRow* row). It also
contained a bug (tracked down by Duggan in ticket #3897, thanks!)
which caused it to skip the sub-tree height computation when
FindParent() returns false, which it does for root items.
Now the computation is simple: The subTreeHeight is the height
of the row itself, if a) the row doesn't have a parent or b)
the parent is visible and expanded. Then if the row being removed
is expanded, we calculate the sub-tree height recursively.
Removed a lot of duplicated or even trippled checks along the
way and solved two easily solvable TODOs with regards to what is
invalidated. Previously the entire list view was invalidated
for each row being removed, even if they were scrolled out the
view bounds.

error. It could even try again in the case of launch-by-signature to make
it more robust.
* _ResolveApp() now only updates the MIME type's app hint if there is no hint
already. This means that only the first app launch will update the hint, not
the ones after that; ie. if you had two installations of an app, launching
it by signature will now always launch the first app, not the one started
last.
* This is done since the app hint is written before its known whether or not
the app could be started at all. Now, if an app could not be started, the
hint is removed, which means it can be reset on next try.

* Once I understood better how everthing is supposed
to work, I've fixed some bugs.
* The most important problem was that AddDirectory()
placed the wrong entry (resolved symlinks) into the
entry list it keeps for each directory. This resulted
in the mechanisms not working at all when an add-on
was a symlink.
* There was a hidden TODO, which would mean that moving
an add-on from one watched directory into another,
like from home/config/add-ons/... into common/add-ons/...
would drop the client application (media_server,
input_server, ...) into the debugger.
* The fFormerEntries list did not seem to serve any
purpose. Basically it would not disable add-ons
removed from a watched directory unless it changed
it's name at the same time. I've removed it completely,
since it didn't seem to be an optimization
(entry cache) either.
* Each actual add-on file is now node-monitored for
stat changes. So if you have a link in the add-on
folder, and the linked to add-on changes, it triggers
a reload of the add-on now. This will make it much
more pleasant to develop add-ons and have them affective
immediately.
I tested with a fresh image, but there are no immediate
regressions I am aware of. I could imagine that messing
with certain add-ons can have a bad effect now, like
removing the keyboard input_server add-on may trigger the
keyboard to stop working immediately without an input_server
restart, but Tracker should warn before it happens.

API will call AddDirectory() in whatever random thread, not in the AddOnMonitor
looper thread however. The looper thread will try to process pending node
monitor events every second which may happen concurrently to the thread
adding to the fPendingEntries list for initial processing of new directories.
Could have affected any of the AddOnMonitor clients, like media_server and
input_server.
