a72248beab Reduce unnecessary differences between this and Makefile.arm32. 
Also (more significantly), use the compiler's default -mcpu setting.  This
means I can now build APCS-32 kernels.  They work, too.

3862a24d20 Remove prototype for long-defunct i386_user_cleanup(). 
Remove duplicate prototype for i386_{set,get}_ldt() from sys_machdep.c.

Change i386_iopl() and i386_{set,get}_{ldt,ioperm}() to take a second
argument of "void *" instead of "char *", for consistency with other syscalls.

284047a2b2 Move sendsig() and sys___sigreturn14() from arm26/arm26/vm_machdep.c and 
arm32/arm32/machdep.c into arm/arm/sig_machdep.c, merging and ANSIfying in
the process.

The code is based on the arm32 version, so I don't think anything should break
there.

460bc0a0fc Recover the ~64KB gap in between the text/rodata & data segments that's being 
generated by the linker in sparc/ELF images. The physical pages in this gap
are unmapped from the kernel and given to the VM manager.

d8cd14d437 Rip the guts out of pmap_remove() and create pmap_do_remove(), called with 
a flag that determines whether or not wired mapping should be removed.
pmap_collect() calls pmap_do_remove() without this flag, and pmap_remove()
calls with it.
Pointed out on port-mac68k with suggested fix from chs.

fb20946774 keep V0 value (system call number) and restore it in exception frame, 
when error is ERESTART. otherwise, user process will re-issue syscall
with broken system call number and get SIGSYS signal and terminate.

a4e55e0f13 Shared ARM ptrace(2) implementation. Mostly the same as the arm32 
version, but with some #ifdefs for arm26.

Also, don't define PT_STEP, since we don't implement it.  This should
reduce code size a little.

%cacr bits added on 68030 don't cause any sideeffect on 68020.

25ad09d3d2 Fully implement bus_space(9) access to the z8530 SCC registers. 
This adds the missing wbflush() calls after writing register data.

At same time tidy up several comments and make several KNF changes.

XXX: The z8530 MI driver doesn't support bus_space access to the registers
     (lacks a hook for storing a bus space tag, and stores register
     addresses directly)
     Until other ports catch up (this is the first) we have overlayed
     the missing data in the MD structures

e96035c57c Tsubai has convinced me that openpic_init() should remain machine-dependant

40c4d1e0c3 Rename the CLI/STI/ECLI/ESTI macros to more descriptive names, 
and add comments to describe exactly what they do (because it's
not totally obvious at a glance, due to the number juggling necessary
to frob the correct bits in SR):

CLI -> EXCEPT_DISABLE (sets SR.BL)
STI -> EXCEPT_ENABLE (clears SR.BL)

ECLI -> INTR_DISABLE (sets SR.I[0-3])
ESTI -> INTR_ENABLE (clears SR.I[0-3])

XXX - Add them to LOBJS. (We're not building lint libraries, but having them
in LOBJS and MKLINT=no results in objects building anyways. This needs to be
cleaner but nothing in the standard mk files jumps out as "other object files")

044caccfff Split OpenPIC support into powerpc so ports only need minimal custom

ef2315d256 Rewrite how mod/ref emulation is done. In particular, make 
modified attribute checking actually work.  Previously, a
page could be reported as modified even if it wasn't!  This
is very bad, and e.g. caused the VM system to attempt to
"clean" pages of read-only files.

Only lip-services is paid to referenced attribute emulation.
This could be improved.

fbfc0872d8 New PowerVR display driver, based on the TURBOchannel "cfb" 
driver by Tohru Nisimura (a very good framework for a FB driver,
BTW!), using bits of Marcus's original driver for the hardware
access.

The main advantage of this version is that is uses rasops (which
is faster than the rcons stuff) and wsfont, so you can select the
console font in the kernel config file.  Using the BOLD8x16 font,
you get an 80x30 console (vast improvement compared to the Gallant12x22
font).

9f82193c0e ignore garbage left in registers by some APM bios (IBM thinkpad) when
