This patch adds support in QEMU to handle "ibm,nmi-register"
and "ibm,nmi-interlock" RTAS calls.
The machine check notification address is saved when the
OS issues "ibm,nmi-register" RTAS call.
This patch also handles the case when multiple processors
experience machine check at or about the same time by
handling "ibm,nmi-interlock" call. In such cases, as per
PAPR, subsequent processors serialize waiting for the first
processor to issue the "ibm,nmi-interlock" call. The second
processor that also received a machine check error waits
till the first processor is done reading the error log.
The first processor issues "ibm,nmi-interlock" call
when the error log is consumed.

Upon a machine check exception (MCE) in a guest address space,
KVM causes a guest exit to enable QEMU to build and pass the
error to the guest in the PAPR defined rtas error log format.
This patch builds the rtas error log, copies it to the rtas_addr
and then invokes the guest registered machine check handler. The
handler in the guest takes suitable action(s) depending on the type
and criticality of the error. For example, if an error is
unrecoverable memory corruption in an application inside the
guest, then the guest kernel sends a SIGBUS to the application.
For recoverable errors, the guest performs recovery actions and
logs the error.

For POWER9 DD2.2 cpus, the best current Spectre v2 indirect branch
mitigation is "count cache disabled", which is configured with:
-machine cap-ibs=fixed-ccd
However, this option isn't available on DD2.3 CPUs with KVM, because they
don't have the count cache disabled.
For POWER9 DD2.3 cpus, it is "count cache flush with assist", configured
with:
-machine cap-ibs=workaround,cap-ccf-assist=on
However this option isn't available on DD2.2 CPUs with KVM, because they
don't have the special CCF assist instruction this relies on.
On current machine types, we default to "count cache flush w/o assist",
that is:
-machine cap-ibs=workaround,cap-ccf-assist=off
This runs, with mitigation on both DD2.2 and DD2.3 host cpus, but has a
fairly significant performance impact.
It turns out we can do better. The special instruction that CCF assist
uses to trigger a count cache flush is a no-op on earlier CPUs, rather than
trapping or causing other badness. It doesn't, of itself, implement the
mitigation, but *if* we have count-cache-disabled, then the count cache
flush is unnecessary, and so using the count cache flush mitigation is
harmless.
Therefore for the new pseries-5.0 machine type, enable cap-ccf-assist by
default. Along with that, suppress throwing an error if cap-ccf-assist
is selected but KVM doesn't support it, as long as KVM *is* giving us
count-cache-disabled. To allow TCG to work out of the box, even though it
doesn't implement the ccf flush assist, downgrade the error in that case to
a warning. This matches several Spectre mitigations where we allow TCG
to operate for debugging, since we don't really make guarantees about TCG
security properties anyway.
While we're there, make the TCG warning for this case match that for other
mitigations.

and LSI interrupt sources as found on a POWER9 system using the XIVE
interrupt controller.
POWER9 processor comes with 3 PHB4 PEC (PCI Express Controller) and
each PEC can have several PHBs. By default,
* PEC0 provides 1 PHB (PHB0)
* PEC1 provides 2 PHBs (PHB1 and PHB2)
* PEC2 provides 3 PHBs (PHB3, PHB4 and PHB5)
Each PEC has a set "global" registers and some "per-stack" (per-PHB)
registers. Those are organized in two XSCOM ranges, the "Nest" range
and the "PCI" range, each range contains both some "PEC" registers and
some "per-stack" registers.
No default device layout is provided and PCI devices can be added on
any of the available PCIe Root Port (pcie.0 .. 2 of a Power9 chip)
with address 0x0 as the firwware (skiboot) only accepts a single
device per root port. To run a simple system with a network and a
storage adapters, use a command line options such as :
-device e1000e,netdev=net0,mac=C0:FF:EE:00:00:02,bus=pcie.0,addr=0x0
-netdev bridge,id=net0,helper=/usr/libexec/qemu-bridge-helper,br=virbr0,id=hostnet0

and its PCI busses. The model doesn't emulate the EEH error handling.

If LPIs are disabled, KVM will just ignore the GICR_PENDBASER.PTZ bit when
restoring GICR_CTLR. Setting PTZ here makes littlt sense in "reduce GIC
initialization time".
And what's worse, PTZ is generally programmed by guest to indicate to the
Redistributor whether the LPI Pending table is zero when enabling LPIs.
If migration is triggered when the PTZ has just been cleared by guest (and
before enabling LPIs), we will see PTZ==1 on the destination side, which
is not as expected. Let's just drop this hackish userspace behavior.

This does not impact the behavior for the following reasons:
+ at this point resettable just call the old reset methods of devices

+ resettable handlers registered with qemu_register_reset are
serialized; there is no interleaving.
+ eventual explicit calls to legacy reset API (device_reset or

This commit make use of the resettable API to reset the device being
hotplugged when it is realized. Also it ensures it is put in a reset
state coherent with the parent it is plugged into.
Note that there is a difference in the reset. Instead of resetting
only the hotplugged device, we reset also its subtree (switch to
resettable API). This is not expected to be a problem because
sub-buses are just realized too. If a hotplugged device has any
sub-buses it is logical to reset them too at this point.
The recently added should_be_hidden and PCI's partially_hotplugged
mechanisms do not interfere with realize operation:
+ In the should_be_hidden use case, device creation is
delayed.
+ The partially_hotplugged mechanism prevents a device to be
unplugged and unrealized from qdev POV and unrealized.

Add a function resettable_change_parent() to do the required
plumbing when changing the parent a of Resettable object.
We need to make sure that the reset state of the object remains
coherent with the reset state of the new parent.
We make the 2 following hypothesis:
+ when an object is put in a parent under reset, the object goes in
reset.
+ when an object is removed from a parent under reset, the object
leaves reset.
The added function avoids any glitch if both old and new parent are
already in reset.

This commit adds support of Resettable interface to buses and devices:
+ ResettableState structure is added in the Bus/Device state
+ Resettable methods are implemented.
+ device/bus_is_in_reset function defined
This commit allows to transition the objects to the new
multi-phase interface without changing the reset behavior at all.
Object single reset method can be split into the 3 different phases
but the 3 phases are still executed in a row for a given object.
From the qdev/qbus reset api point of view, nothing is changed.
qdev_reset_all() and qbus_reset_all() are not modified as well as
device_legacy_reset().
Transition of an object must be done from parent class to child class.
Care has been taken to allow the transition of a parent class
without requiring the child classes to be transitioned at the same
time. Note that SysBus and SysBusDevice class do not need any transition
because they do not override the legacy reset method.

This commit defines an interface allowing multi-phase reset. This aims
to solve a problem of the actual single-phase reset (built in
DeviceClass and BusClass): reset behavior is dependent on the order
in which reset handlers are called. In particular doing external
side-effect (like setting an qemu_irq) is problematic because receiving
object may not be reset yet.
The Resettable interface divides the reset in 3 well defined phases.
To reset an object tree, all 1st phases are executed then all 2nd then
all 3rd. See the comments in include/hw/resettable.h for a more complete
description. The interface defines 3 phases to let the future
possibility of holding an object into reset for some time.
The qdev/qbus reset in DeviceClass and BusClass will be modified in
following commits to use this interface. A mechanism is provided
to allow executing a transitional reset handler in place of the 2nd
phase which is executed in children-then-parent order inside a tree.
This will allow to transition devices and buses smoothly while
keeping the exact current qdev/qbus reset behavior for now.
Documentation will be added in a following commit.

All occurrence of device_reset in the code tree are also replaced

The num-lines property of the TYPE_OR_GATE device sets the number
of input lines it has. An assert() in or_irq_realize() restricts
this to the maximum supported by the implementation. However we
got the condition in the assert wrong: it should be using <=,
because num-lines == MAX_OR_LINES is permitted, and means that
all entries from 0 to MAX_OR_LINES-1 in the s->levels[] array
are used.
We didn't notice this previously because no user has so far

While loading the executable, some platforms (like AVR) need to
detect CPU type that executable is built for - and, with this patch,
this is enabled by reading the field 'e_flags' of the ELF header of
the executable in question. The change expands functionality of
the following functions:
- load_elf()
- load_elf_as()
- load_elf_ram()
- load_elf_ram_sym()
The argument added to these functions is called 'pflags' and is of
type 'uint32_t*' (that matches 'pointer to 'elf_word'', 'elf_word'
being the type of the field 'e_flags', in both 32-bit and 64-bit
variants of ELF header). Callers are allowed to pass NULL as that
argument, and in such case no lookup to the field 'e_flags' will
happen, and no information will be returned, of course.

The commit a718978ed5 from July 2015 introduced the assertion which
implies that the size of successful DMA transfers handled in ide_dma_cb()
should be multiple of 512 (the size of a sector). But guest systems can
initiate DMA transfers that don't fit this requirement.
For fixing that let's check the number of bytes prepared for the transfer
by the prepare_buf() handler. The code in ide_dma_cb() must behave
according to the Programming Interface for Bus Master IDE Controller
(Revision 1.0 5/16/94):
1. If PRDs specified a smaller size than the IDE transfer
size, then the Interrupt and Active bits in the Controller
status register are not set (Error Condition).
2. If the size of the physical memory regions was equal to
the IDE device transfer size, the Interrupt bit in the
Controller status register is set to 1, Active bit is set to 0.
3. If PRDs specified a larger size than the IDE transfer size,
the Interrupt and Active bits in the Controller status register
are both set to 1.

The region in range [0xf0000000 - 0xf1000000] is the PDC area
(Processor Dependent Code), where the firmware is loaded.
This region has higher priority than the main memory.
When the machine has more than 3840MB of RAM, there is an
overlap. Since the PDC is closer to the CPU in the bus
hierarchy, it gets accessed first, and the CPU does not have
access to the RAM in this range.
To model the same behavior and keep a simple memory layout,
reduce the priority of the RAM region. The PDC region ends
overlapping the RAM.

The hardware expects DIMM slots of 1 or 2 GB, allowing up to
4 GB of memory. We want to accept the same amount of memory the
hardware can deal with. DIMMs of 768MB are not available.
However we have to deal with a firmware limitation: currently
SeaBIOS only supports 32-bit, and expects the RAM size in a
32-bit register. When using a 4GB configuration, the 32-bit
register get truncated and we report a size of 0MB to SeaBIOS,
which ends halting the machine:
$ qemu-system-hppa -m 4g -serial stdio
SeaBIOS: Machine configured with too little memory (0 MB), minimum is 16 MB.
SeaBIOS wants SYSTEM HALT.
The easiest way is to restrict the machine to 3GB of memory.

If the kernel irqchip has been disabled, we don't want the
{add,release}_adapter_routes routines to call any kvm_irqchip_*
interfaces, as they may rely on an irqchip actually having been
created. Just take a quick exit in that case instead. If you are
trying to use irqfd without a kernel irqchip, we will fail with
an error.
Also initialize routes->gsi[] with -1 in the virtio-ccw handling,
to make sure we don't trip over other errors, either. (Nobody
else uses the gsi array in that structure.)

'out' label from write_event_mask() and write_event_data()
can be replaced by 'return'.
The 'out' label from read_event_data() can also be replaced.
However, as suggested by Cornelia Huck, instead of simply
replacing the 'out' label, let's also change the code flow
a bit to make it clearer that sccb events are always handled
regardless of the mask for unconditional reads, while selective
reads are handled if the mask is valid.

Use class properties facilities to add properties to the class during
device_class_set_props().
qdev_property_add_static() must be adapted as PropertyInfo now
operates with classes (and not instances), so we must
set_default_value() on the ObjectProperty, before calling its init()
method on the object instance.
Also, PropertyInfo.create() is now exclusively used for class
properties. Fortunately, qdev_property_add_static() is only used in
target/arm/cpu.c so far, which doesn't use "link" properties (that
require create()).

This patch set contains a handful of collected fixes that I'd like to target
for the 5.0 soft freeze (I know that's a long way away, I just don't know what
else to call these):
* A fix for a memory leak initializing the sifive_u board.
* Fixes to privilege mode emulation related to interrupts and fstatus.
Notably absent is the H extension implementation. That's pretty much reviewed,
but not quite ready to go yet and I didn't want to hold back these important
fixes. This boots 32-bit and 64-bit Linux (buildroot this time, just for fun)
and passes "make check".

To support receive DMA, we need to inform the DMA controller if receive data
is available. Otherwise the DMA controller keeps requesting data, causing
receive errors.
Implement this using an interrupt line. The instantiating code then needs
to connect the interrupt with the matching DMA controller GPIO pin.

First parameter to exynos4210_get_irq() is not the SPI port number,
but the interrupt group number. Interrupt groups are 20 for mdma
and 21 for pdma. Interrupts are not inverted. Controllers support 32

interrupt line. Set other parameters as documented in Exynos4210 datasheet,

I added hugepage alignment code in c1ece84e7c to deal with
vhost-user + postcopy which needs aligned pages when using userfault.
However, on x86 the lower 2MB of address space tends to be shotgun'd
with small fragments around the 512-640k range - e.g. video RAM, and
with HyperV synic pages tend to sit around there - again splitting
it up. The alignment code complains with a 'Section rounded to ...'
error and gives up.
Since vhost-user already filters out devices without an fd
(see vhost-user.c vhost_user_mem_section_filter) it shouldn't be
affected by those overlaps.
Turn the alignment off on vhost-kernel so that it doesn't try
and align, and thus won't hit the rounding issues.

Firmware can enumerate present at boot APs by broadcasting wakeup IPI,
so that woken up secondary CPUs could register them-selves.
However in CPU hotplug case, it would need to know architecture
specific CPU IDs for possible and hotplugged CPUs so it could
prepare environment for and wake hotplugged AP.
Reuse and extend existing CPU hotplug interface to return architecture
specific ID for currently selected CPU in 2 registers:
- lower 32 bits in ACPI_CPU_CMD_DATA_OFFSET_RW
- upper 32 bits in ACPI_CPU_CMD_DATA2_OFFSET_R
On x86, firmware will use CPHP_GET_CPU_ID_CMD for fetching the APIC ID
when handling hotplug SMI.
Later, CPHP_GET_CPU_ID_CMD will be used on ARM to retrieve MPIDR,
which serves the similar to APIC ID purpose.

It's not what real HW does, implementing which would be overkill [**]
and would require complex cross stack changes (QEMU+firmware) to make
it work.
So considering that SMRAM is owned by MCH, for simplicity (ab)use
reserved Q35 register, which allows QEMU and firmware easily init
and make RAM at SMBASE available only from SMM context.
Patch uses commit (2f295167e0 q35/mch: implement extended TSEG sizes)
for inspiration and uses reserved register in config space at 0x9c
offset [*] to extend q35 pci-host with ability to use 128K at
0x30000 as SMRAM and hide it (like TSEG) from non-SMM context.
Usage:
1: write 0xff in the register
2: if the feature is supported, follow up read from the register
should return 0x01. At this point RAM at 0x30000 is still
available for SMI handler configuration from non-SMM context
3: writing 0x02 in the register, locks SMBASE area, making its contents
available only from SMM context. In non-SMM context, reads return
0xff and writes are ignored. Further writes into the register are
ignored until the system reset.

init_in_iov_from_pdu might not be able to allocate the full buffer size
requested, which comes from the client and could be larger than the
transport has available at the time of the request. Specifically, this
can happen with read operations, with the client requesting a read up to
the max allowed, which might be more than the transport has available at
the time.
Today the implementation of init_in_iov_from_pdu throws an error, both
Xen and Virtio.
Instead, change the V9fsTransport interface so that the size becomes a
pointer and can be limited by the implementation of
init_in_iov_from_pdu.
Change both the Xen and Virtio implementations to set the size to the
size of the buffer they managed to allocate, instead of throwing an
error. However, if the allocated buffer size is less than P9_IOHDRSZ
(the size of the header) still throw an error as the case is unhandable.

local_unlinkat_common() is supposed to always return -1 on error.
This is being done by jumps to the 'err_out' label, which is
a 'return ret' call, and 'ret' is initialized with -1.
Unfortunately there is a condition in which the function will
return 0 on error: in a case where flags == AT_REMOVEDIR, 'ret'
will be 0 when reaching
map_dirfd = openat_dir(...)
And, if map_dirfd == -1 and errno != ENOENT, the existing 'err_out'
jump will execute 'return ret', when ret is still set to zero
at that point.
This patch fixes it by changing all 'err_out' labels by
'return -1' calls, ensuring that the function will always
return -1 on error conditions. 'ret' can be left unintialized
since it's now being used just to store the result of 'unlinkat'
calls.

Migration is silently broken now with x2apic config like this:
-smp 200,maxcpus=288,sockets=2,cores=72,threads=2 \
-device intel-iommu,intremap=on,eim=on
After migration, the guest kernel could hang at anything, due to
x2apic bit not migrated correctly in IA32_APIC_BASE on some vcpus, so
any operations related to x2apic could be broken then (e.g., RDMSR on
x2apic MSRs could fail because KVM would think that the vcpu hasn't
enabled x2apic at all).
The issue is that the x2apic bit was never applied correctly for vcpus
whose ID > 255 when migrate completes, and that's because when we
migrate APIC we use the APICCommonState.id as instance ID of the
migration stream, while that's too short for x2apic.
Let's use the newly introduced initial_apic_id for that.

I've got a case where usbredir_write manages to call back into itself
via spice; this patch causes the recursion to fail (0 bytes) the write;
this seems to avoid the deadlock I was previously seeing.
I can't say I fully understand the interaction of usbredir and spice;
but there are a few similar guards in spice and usbredir
to catch other cases especially onces also related to spice_server_char_device_wakeup
This case seems to be triggered by repeated migration+repeated
reconnection of the viewer; but my debugging suggests the migration
finished before this hits.
The backtrace of the hang looks like:
reds_handle_ticket
reds_handle_other_links
reds_channel_do_link
red_channel_connect
spicevmc_connect
usbredir_create_parser
usbredirparser_do_write
usbredir_write

vmc_write
usbredirparser_do_write
usbredir_write
qemu_chr_fe_write

and we fail as we lang through qemu_chr_write_buffer's lock
twice.

If the redirected device has this capability, Windows guest may
place the device into D2 and expect it to wake when the device
becomes active, but this will never happen. For example, when
internal Bluetooth adapter is redirected, keyboards and mice
connected to it do not work. Current commit removes this
capability (starting from machine 5.0)

Provides a blocking call to read a character from the console using
semihosting.chardev, if specified. This takes some careful command
line options to use stdio successfully as the serial ports, monitor
and semihost all want to use stdio. Here's a sample set of command
line options which share stdio between semihost, monitor and serial
ports:
qemu \
-chardev stdio,mux=on,id=stdio0 \
-serial chardev:stdio0 \
-semihosting-config enable=on,chardev=stdio0 \
-mon chardev=stdio0,mode=readline
This creates a chardev hooked to stdio and then connects all of the
subsystems to it. A shorter mechanism would be good to hear about.

The Chardev events are listed in the QEMUChrEvent enum.
By using the enum in the IOEventHandler typedef we:
- make the IOEventHandler type more explicit (this handler
process out-of-band information, while the IOReadHandler
is in-band),
- help static code analyzers.
This patch was produced with the following spatch script:
@match@

identifier fd_can_read, fd_read, fd_event, be_change;

qemu_chr_fe_set_handlers(backend, fd_can_read, fd_read, fd_event,

Now that the spapr and pnv machines do set the "xive-fabric" link, the
use of the XIVE fabric pointer becomes mandatory. This is checked with

look for a matching target when an event notification is being
delivered. An assert checks that spapr_match_nvt() is called only when
the machine has selected the XIVE interrupt mode but it is redundant
with the XIVE_PRESENTER() dynamic cast.
Apply the cast to spapr->active_intc and remove the assert.

The number of CPU chips of the powernv machine is configurable through a
"num-chips" property. This doesn't fit well with the CPU topology, eg.
some configurations can come up with more CPUs than the maximum of CPUs
set in the toplogy. This causes assertion to be hit with mttcg:
-machine powernv,num-chips=2 -smp cores=2 -accel tcg,thread=multi
ERROR:
tcg/tcg.c:789:tcg_register_thread: assertion failed: (n < ms->smp.max_cpus)
Aborted (core dumped)
Mttcg mandates the CPU topology to be dimensioned to the actual number
of CPUs, depending on the number of chips the user asked for. That is,
'-machine num-chips=N' should always have a '-smp' companion with a
topology that meats the resulting number of CPUs, typically
'-smp sockets=N'.
It thus seems that "num-chips" doesn't bring anything but forcing the user
to specify the requested number of chips on the command line twice. Simplify
the command line by computing the number of chips based on the CPU topology
exclusively. The powernv machine isn't a production thing ; it is mostly
used by developpers to prepare the bringup of real HW. Because of this and
for simplicity, this deliberately ignores the official deprecation process
and dumps "num-chips" right away : '-smp sockets=N' is now the only way to
control the number of CPU chips.
This is done at machine init because smp_parse() is called after instance
init.

A pseries guest can be run as a secure guest on Ultravisor-enabled
POWER platforms. When such a secure guest is reset, we need to
release/reset a few resources both on ultravisor and hypervisor side.
This is achieved by invoking this new ioctl KVM_PPC_SVM_OFF from the
machine reset path.
As part of this ioctl, the secure guest is essentially transitioned
back to normal mode so that it can reboot like a regular guest and
become secure again.
This ioctl has no effect when invoked for a normal guest. If this ioctl
fails for a secure guest, the guest is terminated.

Hi,
QDEV_PROP_PTR is marked in multiple places as "FIXME/TODO/remove
me". In most cases, it can be easily replaced with QDEV_PROP_LINK when
the pointer points to an Object.
There are a few places where such substitution isn't possible. For
those places, it seems reasonable to use a specific setter method
instead, and keep the user_creatable = false. In other places,
proper usage of qdev or other facilies is the solution.
The serial code wasn't converted to qdev, which makes it a bit more
archaic to deal with. Let's convert it first, so we can more easily
embed it from other devices, and re-export some properties and drop
QDEV_PROP_PTR usage.

becomes necessary to handle their migration. Various options exist to
transfer their state:
1) as the VM memory, RAM or devices (we could say that's how
vhost-user devices can be handled today, they are expected to
restore from ring state)
2) other "vmstate" (as with TPM emulator state blobs)
3) left to be handled by management layer
1) is not practical, since an external processes may legitimatelly
need arbitrary state date to back a device or a service, or may not
even have an associated device.
2) needs ad-hoc code for each helper, but is simple and working
3) is complicated for management layer, QEMU has the migration timing
The proposed "dbus-vmstate" object will connect to a given D-Bus
address, and save/load from org.qemu.VMState1 owners on migration.
Thus helpers can easily have their state migrated with QEMU, without
implementing ad-hoc support (such as done for TPM emulation)
D-Bus is ubiquitous on Linux (it is systemd IPC), and can be made to
work on various other OSes. There are several implementations and good
bindings for various languages. (the tests/dbus-vmstate-test.c is a
good example of how simple the implementation of services can be, even
in C)

Before the patch, seg_max parameter was immutable and hardcoded
to 126 (128 - 2) without respect to queue size. This has two negative effects:
1. when queue size is < 128, we have Virtio 1.1 specfication violation:
(2.6.5.3.1 Driver Requirements) seq_max must be <= queue_size.
This violation affects the old Linux guests (ver < 4.14). These guests
crash on these queue_size setups.
2. when queue_size > 128, as was pointed out by Denis Lunev <den@virtuozzo.com>,
seg_max restrics guest's block request length which affects guests'
performance making them issues more block request than needed.
https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/qemu-devel/2017-12/msg03721.html
To mitigate this two effects, the patch adds the property adjusting seg_max
to queue size automaticaly. Since seg_max is a guest visible parameter,
the property is machine type managable and allows to choose between
old (seg_max = 126 always) and new (seg_max = queue_size - 2) behaviors.
Not to change the behavior of the older VMs, prevent setting the default
seg_max_adjust value for older machine types.

Hi,
The following patches have been extracted from the "[PATCH v6 00/25]
monitor: add asynchronous command type", as they are
reviewable/mergeable independantly.
They introduce some internal API changes, and fix
qemu_open()/qemu_close()/unlink() misusages which should be quite
harmless.

Since commit 1930616b98 "audio: make mixeng optional" the
function hda_audio_output_cb can no longer assume the function
parameter avail contains the free buffer size. With the playback
mixing-engine turned off this leads to a broken playback rate
control and playback buffer drops in regular intervals.
This patch moves down the rate calculation, so the correct
buffer fill level is used for the calculation.

5.0 machine type uses 4.2 compats. This seems to be incorrect, since
the latests machine type by now is 5.0 and it should use its own
compat or shouldn't use any relying on the defaults.
Seems, like this appeared because of some problems on merge/rebase.

If the vhost-user-scsi backend supports the VHOST_USER_F_RESET_DEVICE
protocol feature, then the device can be reset when requested.
If this feature is not supported, do not try a reset as this will send
a VHOST_USER_RESET_OWNER that the backend is not expecting,
potentially putting into an inoperable state.

Add a VHOST_USER_RESET_DEVICE message which will reset the vhost user
backend. Disabling all rings, and resetting all internal state, ready
for the backend to be reinitialized.
A backend has to report it supports this features with the
VHOST_USER_PROTOCOL_F_RESET_DEVICE protocol feature bit. If it does
so, the new message is used instead of sending a RESET_OWNER which has
had inconsistent implementations.

Both functions are called by MemoryRegionOps.[read/write] handlers
with unsigned 'size' argument. Both functions call
pci_host_config_[read/write]_common() which expect a uint32_t 'len'
parameter (also unsigned).
Since it is pointless (and confuse) to use a signed value, use a
unsigned type.

In commit 3bf4dfdd11 we introduced the pci_cfg_[read/write]

We have the following call trace:
pci_host_data_[read/write]()
- PCI_DPRINTF()
- pci_data_[read/write]()
- PCI_DPRINTF()
- pci_host_config_[read/write]_common()
trace_pci_cfg_[read/write]()
Since the PCI_DPRINTF() calls are redundant with the trace
