1406b7fc4b virtio: features,fixes
A bunch of improvements:
 - vhost dirty log is now only scanned once, not once per device
 - virtio and vhost now support VIRTIO_F_NOTIFICATION_DATA
 - cxl gained DCD emulation support
 - pvpanic gained shutdown support
 - beginning of patchset for Generic Port Affinity Structure
 - s3 support
 - friendlier error messages when boot fails on some illegal configs
 - for vhost-user, VHOST_USER_SET_LOG_BASE is now only sent once
 - part of vhost-user support for any POSIX system -
   not yet enabled due to qtest failures
 - sr-iov VF setup code has been reworked significantly
 - new tests, particularly for risc-v ACPI

e57173085a util/cpuinfo-riscv: Use linux __riscv_hwprobe syscall
With recent linux kernels, there is a syscall to probe for various
ISA extensions.  These bits were phased in over several kernel
releases, so we still require checks for symbol availability.

4c58843e5d vhost-user-server: do not set memory fd non-blocking
In vhost-user-server we set all fd received from the other peer
in non-blocking mode. For some of them (e.g. memfd, shm_open, etc.)
it's not really needed, because we don't use these fd with blocking
operations, but only to map memory.

In addition, in some systems this operation can fail (e.g. in macOS
setting an fd returned by shm_open() non-blocking fails with errno
= ENOTTY).

So, let's avoid setting fd non-blocking for those messages that we
know carry memory fd (e.g. VHOST_USER_ADD_MEM_REG,
VHOST_USER_SET_MEM_TABLE).

b43b61d5be migration: Add direct-io parameter
Add the direct-io migration parameter that tells the migration code to
use O_DIRECT when opening the migration stream file whenever possible.

This is currently only used with the mapped-ram migration that has a
clear window guaranteed to perform aligned writes.

1cd93fb0bf monitor: Drop monitor_fdset_dup_fd_find/_remove()
Those functions are not needed, one remove function should already
work.  Clean it up.

Here the code doesn't really care about whether we need to keep that dupfd
around if close() failed: when that happens something got very wrong,
keeping the dup_fd around the fdsets may not help that situation so far.

e1e55d346a util/readline: Add C-u shortcut
Add support for the unix-line-discard readline action, which erases from
the cursor position up to the beginning of the line. The default
binding, C-u, was chosen.

This is useful to quickly erase command input while working on the
monitor interface.

C-n and C-p are the default bindings for readline's next-history and
previous-history respectively. They have the same functionality as the
Down and Up arrow keys.

9051350d25 util/readline: Fix lints for readline_handle_byte
While they do not give warnings under our current buildsystem
configuration, my clang's language server daemon was complaining about
missing default: labels in switch statements.

While at it, add /* fallthrough */ annotations where appropriate.

This is a purely style and not functional change.

bfb8c79f89 osdep: Make qemu_madvise() to set errno in all cases
The unspoken premise of qemu_madvise() is that errno is set on
error. And it is mostly the case except for posix_madvise() which
is documented to return either zero (on success) or a positive
error number. This means, we must set errno ourselves. And while
at it, make the function return a negative value on error, just
like other error paths do.

22437b4de9 util/bufferiszero: Add simd acceleration for aarch64
Because non-embedded aarch64 is expected to have AdvSIMD enabled, merely
double-check with the compiler flags for __ARM_NEON and don't bother with
a runtime check.  Otherwise, model the loop after the x86 SSE2 function.

Use UMAXV for the vector reduction.  This is 3 cycles on cortex-a76 and
2 cycles on neoverse-n1.

Use of prefetching in bufferiszero.c is quite questionable:

- prefetches are issued just a few CPU cycles before the corresponding
  line would be hit by demand loads;

- they are done for simple access patterns, i.e. where hardware
  prefetchers can perform better;

- they compete for load ports in loops that should be limited by load
  port throughput rather than ALU throughput.

8a917b99d5 util/bufferiszero: Remove SSE4.1 variant
The SSE4.1 variant is virtually identical to the SSE2 variant, except
for using 'PTEST+JNZ' in place of 'PCMPEQB+PMOVMSKB+CMP+JNE' for testing
if an SSE register is all zeroes. The PTEST instruction decodes to two
uops, so it can be handled only by the complex decoder, and since
CMP+JNE are macro-fused, both sequences decode to three uops. The uops
comprising the PTEST instruction dispatch to p0 and p5 on Intel CPUs, so
PCMPEQB+PMOVMSKB is comparatively more flexible from dispatch
standpoint.

Hence, the use of PTEST brings no benefit from throughput standpoint.
Its latency is not important, since it feeds only a conditional jump,
which terminates the dependency chain.

I never observed PTEST variants to be faster on real hardware.

Address the comment added in commit 4629ed1e98
("qerror: Finally unused, clean up"), from 2015:

Mechanical transformation using:

Manually simplify qemu_opts_create(), and remove the macro definition
in include/qapi/qmp/qerror.h.

3df4c28860 util/qemu-config: Extract QMP commands to qemu-config-qmp.c
QMP is irrelevant for user emulation. Extract the code
related to QMP in a different source file, which won't
be build for user emulation binaries. This avoid pulling
pointless code.
