virtio_notify_config() needs to acquire the global mutex, which isn't
allowed from an iothread, and may lead to a deadlock like this:
- main thead
* Has acquired: qemu_global_mutex.
* Is trying the acquire: iothread AioContext lock via
AIO_WAIT_WHILE (after aio_poll).
- iothread
* Has acquired: AioContext lock.

If virtio_blk_resize() is called from an iothread, schedule

When a frontend gracefully disconnects from an offline backend, it will
set its own state to XenbusStateClosed. The code in xen-block.c correctly
deals with this and sets the backend into XenbusStateClosed. Unfortunately
it is possible for toolstack to actually delete the frontend area
before the state key has been read, leading to an apparent frontend state
of XenbusStateUnknown. This prevents the backend state from transitioning
to XenbusStateClosed and hence leaves it limbo.
This patch simply treats a frontend state of XenbusStateUnknown the same
as XenbusStateClosed, which will unblock the backend in these circumstances.

* It pulls in more than a dozen additional headers.

sysemu/runstate.h.
Touching sysemu/sysemu.h now recompiles some 850 objects. qemu/uuid.h

The functionality offered by blk_pread_unthrottled() goes back to commit
498e386c58. Then, we couldn't perform I/O throttling with synchronous
requests because timers wouldn't be executed in polling loops. So the
commit automatically disabled I/O throttling as soon as a synchronous
request was issued.
However, for geometry detection during disk initialisation, we always
used (and still use) synchronous requests even if guest requests use AIO
later. Geometry detection was not wanted to disable I/O throttling, so
bdrv_pread_unthrottled() was introduced which disabled throttling only
temporarily.
All of this isn't necessary any more because we do run timers in polling
loop and even synchronous requests are now using coroutine
infrastructure internally. For this reason, commit 90c78624f already
removed the automatic disabling of I/O throttling.
It's time to get rid of the workaround for the removed code, and its
abuse of blk_root_drained_begin()/end(), as well.

This reverts commit 3ae0343db6.
Stephen Checkoway noticed commit 3ae0343db6 is incorrect.
This commit state all parallel flashes are limited to 16-bit
accesses, however the x32 configuration exists in some models,
such the Cypress S29CL032J, which CFI Device Geometry Definition
announces:
CFI ADDR DATA
0x28,0x29 = 0x0003 (x32-only asynchronous interface)
Guests should not be affected by the previous change, because
QEMU does not announce itself as x32 capable:
/* Flash device interface (8 & 16 bits) */
pfl->cfi_table[0x28] = 0x02;
pfl->cfi_table[0x29] = 0x00;
Commit 3ae0343db6 does not restrict the bus to 16-bit accesses,
but restrict the implementation as 16-bit access max, so a guest
32-bit access will result in 2x 16-bit calls.
Now, we have 2 boards that register the flash device in 32-bit
access:
- PPC: taihu_405ep
The CFI id matches the S29AL008J that is a 1MB in x16, while
the code QEMU forces it to be 2MB, and checking Linux it expects
a 4MB flash.
- ARM: Digic4
While the comment says "Samsung K8P3215UQB 64M Bit (4Mx16)",
this flash is 32Mb (2MB). Also note the CFI id does not match
the comment.
To avoid unexpected side effect, we revert commit 3ae0343db6,
and will clean the board code later.

When erasing the chip, use the typical time specified in the CFI table
rather than arbitrarily selecting 5 seconds.
Since the currently unconfigurable value set in the table is 12, this
means a chip erase takes 4096 ms so this isn't a big change in behavior.

During a sector erase (but not a chip erase), the embeded erase program
can be suspended. Once suspended, the sectors not selected for erasure
may be read and programmed. Autoselect mode is allowed during erase
suspend mode. Presumably, CFI queries are similarly allowed so this
commit allows them as well.
Since guest firmware can use status bits DQ7, DQ6, DQ3, and DQ2 to
determine the current state of sector erasure, these bits are properly
implemented.

Some flash chips support sectors of different sizes. For example, the
AMD AM29LV160DT has 31 64 kB sectors, one 32 kB sector, two 8 kB
sectors, and a 16 kB sector, in that order. The AM29LV160DB has those in
the reverse order.
The `num-blocks` and `sector-length` properties work exactly as they did
before: a flash device with uniform sector lengths. To get non-uniform
sector lengths for up to four regions, the following properties may be
set
- region 0. `num-blocks0` and `sector-length0`;
- region 1. `num-blocks1` and `sector-length1`;
- region 2. `num-blocks2` and `sector-length2`; and
- region 3. `num-blocks3` and `sector-length3`.
If the uniform and nonuniform properties are set, then both must specify
a flash device with the same total size. It would be better to disallow
both being set, or make `num-blocks0` and `sector-length0` alias
`num-blocks` and `sector-length`, but that would make testing currently
impossible.

A Xen public header have been imported into QEMU (by
f65eadb639 "xen: import ring.h from xen"), but there are other header
that depends on ring.h which come from the system when building QEMU.
This patch resolves the issue of having headers from the system
importing a different copie of ring.h.
This patch is prompt by the build issue described in the previous
patch: 'Revert xen/io/ring.h of "Clean up a few header guard symbols"'
ring.h and the new imported headers are moved to
"include/hw/xen/interface" as those describe interfaces with a guest.
The imported headers are cleaned up a bit while importing them: some
part of the file that QEMU doesn't use are removed (description
of how to make hypercall in grant_table.h have been removed).
Other cleanup:
- xen-mapcache.c and xen-legacy-backend.c don't need grant_table.h.
- xenfb.c doesn't need event_channel.h.

This patch introduces a poll callback for event channel fd-s and uses
this to invoke the channel callback function.
To properly support polling, it is necessary for the event channel callback
function to return a boolean saying whether it has done any useful work or
not. Thus xen_block_dataplane_event() is modified to directly invoke
xen_block_handle_requests() and the latter only returns true if it actually
processes any requests. This also means that the call to qemu_bh_schedule()
is moved into xen_block_complete_aio(), which is more intuitive since the
only reason for doing a deferred poll of the shared ring should be because
there were previously insufficient resources to fully complete a previous
poll.

A recent Xen commit [1] clarified the semantics of sector based quantities
used in the blkif protocol such that it is now safe to create a xen-block
device with a logical_block_size != 512, as long as the device only
connects to a frontend advertizing 'feature-large-block-size'.
This patch modifies xen-block accordingly. It also uses a stack variable
for the BlockBackend in xen_block_realize() to avoid repeated dereferencing
of the BlockConf pointer, and changes the parameters of
xen_block_dataplane_create() so that the BlockBackend pointer and sector
size are passed expicitly rather than implicitly via the BlockConf.
These modifications have been tested against a recent Windows PV XENVBD
driver [2] using a xen-disk device with a 4kB logical block size.

The Xen blkif protocol requires that sector based quantities should be
interpreted strictly as multiples of 512 bytes. Specifically:
"first_sect and last_sect in blkif_request_segment, as well as
sector_number in blkif_request, are always expressed in 512-byte units."
Commit fcab2b464e "xen: add header and build dataplane/xen-block.c"
incorrectly modified behaviour to use the block device logical_block_size
property as the scale, instead of correctly shifting values by the
hardcoded BDRV_SECTOR_BITS (and hence scaling them to 512 byte units).
This patch undoes that change and restores compliance with the spec.
Furthermore, this patch also restores the original xen_disk behaviour
of advertizing a hardcoded 'sector-size' value of 512 in xenstore and
scaling 'sectors' accordingly. The realize() method is also modified to
fail if logical_block_size is set to anything other than 512.

...and properly enable it when synthesizing a drive.
The Xen toolstack sets 'discard-enable' to '1' in xenstore when it wants
to enable discard on a specified image. The code in
xen_block_drive_create() correctly parses this and uses it to set
'discard' to 'unmap' for the file_layer, but fails to do the same for the
driver_layer (which effectively disables it). Meanwhile the code in
xen_block_realize() advertizes discard support to the frontend in the
default case (because conf->discard_granularity defaults to -1), even when
the underlying image may not handle it.
This patch adds the missing option to the driver_layer in
xen_block_driver_create() and checks whether BDRV_O_UNMAP is actually
set on the block device before advertizing discard to the frontend.
In the case that discard is supported it also makes sure that the
granularity is set to the physical block size.

We reject undersized backends with a rather enigmatic "failed to read
the initial flash content" error. For instance:
$ qemu-system-ppc64 -S -display none -M sam460ex -drive if=pflash,format=raw,file=eins.img
qemu-system-ppc64: Initialization of device cfi.pflash02 failed: failed to read the initial flash content
We happily accept oversized images, ignoring their tail. Throwing
away parts of firmware that way is pretty much certain to end in an
even more enigmatic failure to boot.
Require the backend's size to match the device's size exactly. Report
mismatch like this:
qemu-system-ppc64: Initialization of device cfi.pflash01 failed: device requires 1048576 bytes, block backend provides 512 bytes
Improve the error for actual read failures to "can't read block
backend".
To avoid duplicating even more code between the two pflash device
models, do all that in new helper blk_check_size_and_read_all().
The error reporting can still be confusing. For instance:
qemu-system-ppc64 -S -display none -M taihu -drive if=pflash,format=raw,file=eins.img -drive if=pflash,unit=1,format=raw,file=zwei.img
qemu-system-ppc64: Initialization of device cfi.pflash02 failed: device requires 2097152 bytes, block backend provides 512 bytes
Leaves the user guessing which of the two -drive is wrong. Mention
the issue in a TODO comment.

The roots of the parsing are default-configs/*.mak, Kconfig.host and

have to be defined in a Kconfig file, including those coming from the
configure script. This is the reason for the Kconfig.host file introduced
in the previous patch. Whenever a file in default-configs/*.mak used

virtio_blk_dma_restart_bh() submits new requests, so in order to make
sure that these requests are not started inside a drained section of the
attached BlockBackend, we need to make sure that draining the
BlockBackend waits for the BH to be executed.
This BH is still questionable because its scheduled in the main thread
instead of the configured iothread. Leave a FIXME comment for this.
But with this fix, enabling the data plane at least waits for these
requests (in bdrv_set_aio_context()) instead of changing the AioContext
under their feet and making them run in the wrong thread, causing
crashes and failures (e.g. due to missing locking).

This patch adds the support of DISCARD and WRITE_ZEROES commands,
that have been introduced in the virtio-blk protocol to have
better performance when using SSD backend.
We support only one segment per request since multiple segments
are not widely used and there are no userspace APIs that allow
applications to submit multiple segments in a single call.

In order to avoid migration issues, we enable DISCARD and
WRITE_ZEROES features only for machine type >= 4.0
As discussed with Michael S. Tsirkin and Stefan Hajnoczi on the
list [1], DISCARD operation should not have security implications
(eg. page cache attacks), so we can enable it by default.

Since configurable features for virtio-blk are growing, this patch
adds host_features field in the struct VirtIOBlock. (as in virtio-net)
In this way, we can avoid to add new fields for new properties and
we can directly set VIRTIO_BLK_F* flags in the host_features.
We update "config-wce" and "scsi" property definition to use the new
host_features field without change the behaviour.

Commit caa1ee43 "vhost-user-blk: add discard/write zeroes features
support" added fields to struct virtio_blk_config. This changes
the size of the config space and breaks migration from QEMU 3.1
and older:
qemu-system-ppc64: get_pci_config_device: Bad config data: i=0x10 read: 41 device: 1 cmask: ff wmask: 80 w1cmask:0
qemu-system-ppc64: Failed to load PCIDevice:config

qemu-system-ppc64: error while loading state for instance 0x0 of device 'pci@800000020000000:01.0/virtio-blk'
qemu-system-ppc64: load of migration failed: Invalid argument
Since virtio-blk doesn't support the "discard" and "write zeroes"
features, it shouldn't even expose the associated fields in the
config space actually. Just include all fields up to num_queues to
match QEMU 3.1 and older.

Memset vhost_dev to zero in the vhost_dev_cleanup function.
This causes dev.vqs to be NULL, so that
vqs does not free up space when calling the g_free function.
This will result in a memory leak. But you can't release vqs
directly in the vhost_dev_cleanup function, because vhost_net
will also call this function, and vhost_net's vqs is assigned by array.
In order to solve this problem, we first save the pointer of vqs,
and release the space of vqs after vhost_dev_cleanup is called.

The xen-block dataplane currently allocates memory to hold the data for
each request as that request is used, and frees it afterwards. Because
it requires page-aligned blocks, this interacts poorly with non-page-
aligned allocations and balloons the heap.
Instead, allocate the maximum possible buffer size required for the
protocol, which is BLKIF_MAX_SEGMENTS_PER_REQUEST (currently 11) pages
when the request structure is created, and keep that buffer until it is
destroyed. Since the requests are re-used via a free list, this should
actually improve memory usage.

If the I/O ring is full, the guest cannot send any more requests
until some responses are sent. Only sending all available responses
just before checking for new work does not leave much time for the
guest to supply new work, so this will cause stalls if the ring gets
full. Also, not completing reads as soon as possible adds latency
to the guest.
To alleviate that, complete IO requests as soon as they come back.
xen_block_send_response() already returns a value indicating whether
a notify should be sent, which is all the batching we need.

When I/O consists of many small requests, performance is improved by
batching them together in a single io_submit() call. When there are
relatively few requests, the extra overhead is not worth it. This
introduces a check to start batching I/O requests via blk_io_plug()/
blk_io_unplug() in an amount proportional to the number which were
already in flight at the time we started reading the ring.

This patch adds create and destroy function for XenBlockDevice-s so that
they can be created automatically when the Xen toolstack instantiates a new
PV backend via xenstore. When the XenBlockDevice is created this way it is
also necessary to create a 'drive' which matches the configuration that the
Xen toolstack has written into xenstore. This is done by formulating the
parameters necessary for each 'blockdev' layer of the drive and then using
qmp_blockdev_add() to create the layers. Also, for compatibility with the
legacy 'xen_disk' implementation, an iothread is automatically created for
the new XenBlockDevice. This, like the driver layers, will be destroyed
after the XenBlockDevice is unrealized.
The legacy backend scan for 'qdisk' is removed by this patch, which makes
the 'xen_disk' code is redundant. The code will be removed by a subsequent

A Xen PV frontend communicates its state to the PV backend by writing to
the 'state' key in the frontend area in xenstore. It is therefore
necessary for a XenDevice implementation to be notified whenever the
value of this key changes.
This patch adds code to do this as follows:
- an 'fd handler' is registered on the libxenstore handle which will be
triggered whenever a 'watch' event occurs
- primitives are added to xen-bus-helper to add or remove watch events
- a list of Notifier objects is added to XenBus to provide a mechanism
to call the appropriate 'watch handler' when its associated event
occurs
The xen-block implementation is extended with a 'frontend_changed' method,
which calls as-yet stub 'connect' and 'disconnect' functions when the
relevant frontend state transitions occur. A subsequent patch will supply
a full implementation for these functions.

these primitives [1] to initialize and destroy the frontend and backend
areas for a XenDevice during realize and unrealize respectively.
The 'xen-block' implementation is extended with a 'get_name' method that
returns the VBD number. This number is required to 'name' the xenstore
areas.

This patch adds new XenDevice-s: 'xen-disk' and 'xen-cdrom', both derived
from a common 'xen-block' parent type. These will eventually replace the
'xen_disk' (note the underscore rather than hyphen) legacy PV backend but
it is illustrative to build up the implementation incrementally, along with
the XenBus/XenDevice framework. Subsequent patches will therefore add to
these devices' implementation as new features are added to the framework.
After this patch has been applied it is possible to instantiate new
'xen-disk' or 'xen-cdrom' devices with a single 'vdev' parameter, which
accepts values adhering to the Xen VBD naming scheme [1]. For example, a
command-line instantiation of a xen-disk can be done with an argument
similar to the following:
-device xen-disk,vdev=hda
The implementation of the vdev parameter formulates the appropriate VBD
number for use in the PV protocol.

When the submission and completion queues are being torn down
the IRQ will be asserted for the completion queue when the

is deleted it stays asserted. Thus, on systems that do
not use MSI, no further interrupts can be triggered on the host.
Linux sees this as a long delay when unbinding the nvme device.
Eventually the interrupt timeout occurs and it continues.

Commit c8a35f1cf0 "fdc: use IsaDma interface instead of global DMA_*
functions" accidentally introduced a segfault in fdctrl_stop_transfer() for
non-DMA transfers.
If fdctrl->dma_chann has not been configured then the fdctrl->dma interface
reference isn't initialised during isabus_fdc_realize(). Unfortunately
fdctrl_stop_transfer() unconditionally references the DMA interface when
finishing the transfer causing a NULL pointer dereference.
Fix the issue by adding a check in fdctrl_stop_transfer() so that the DMA
interface reference and release method is only invoked if fdctrl->dma_chann
has been set.

Use assert() instead of error_setg(&error_abort),
as suggested by the "qapi/error.h" documentation:
Please don't error_setg(&error_fatal, ...), use error_report() and
exit(), because that's more obvious.
Likewise, don't error_setg(&error_abort, ...), use assert().

Certain functions in xen_disk are called with a pointer to xendev
(struct XenDevice *). They then use container_of() to acces the surrounding
blkdev (struct XenBlkDev) but then in various places use &blkdev->xendev
when use of the original xendev pointer is shorter to express and clearly
equivalent.
This patch is a purely cosmetic patch which makes sure there is a xendev
pointer on stack for any function where the pointer is need on multiple
occasions modified those functions to use it consistently.

Commit 5b2ffbe4d9 ("virtio-blk: dataplane:
notify guest as a batch") deferred guest notification to a BH in order
batch notifications, with purpose of avoiding flooding the guest with
interruptions.
This optimization came with a cost. The average latency perceived in the
guest is increased by a few microseconds, but also when multiple IO
operations finish at the same time, the guest won't be notified until
all completions from each operation has been run. On the contrary,
virtio-scsi issues the notification at the end of each completion.
On the other hand, nowadays we have the EVENT_IDX feature that allows a
better coordination between QEMU and the Guest OS to avoid sending
unnecessary interruptions.
With this change, virtio-blk/dataplane only batches notifications if the
EVENT_IDX feature is not present.

In my "build everything" tree, a change to the types in
qapi-schema.json triggers a recompile of about 4800 out of 5100
objects.
The previous commit split up qmp-commands.h, qmp-event.h, qmp-visit.h,
qapi-types.h. Each of these headers still includes all its shards.
Reduce compile time by including just the shards we actually need.
To illustrate the benefits: adding a type to qapi/migration.json now
recompiles some 2300 instead of 4800 objects. The next commit will
improve it further.

Warning: /usr/bin/dtrace:trace-dtrace-root.dtrace:66: syntax error near:

Warning: Proceeding as if --no-pyparsing was given.
This is a limitation in current SystemTap releases. I have sent a patch
upstream to accept "char const" since it is valid C:
https://sourceware.org/ml/systemtap/2018-q1/msg00017.html
In QEMU we still wish to avoid warnings in the current SystemTap
release. It's simple enough to replace "char const" with "const char".
I'm not changing the documentation or implementing checks to prevent
this from occurring again in the future. The next release of SystemTap

according to Eduardo Habkost's commit fd3b02c889 all PCIEs now implement
INTERFACE_PCIE_DEVICE so we don't need is_express field anymore.
Devices that implements only INTERFACE_PCIE_DEVICE (is_express == 1)
or
devices that implements only INTERFACE_CONVENTIONAL_PCI_DEVICE (is_express == 0)
where not affected by the change.
The only devices that were affected are those that are hybrid and also
had (is_express == 1) - therefor only:
- hw/vfio/pci.c
- hw/usb/hcd-xhci.c
- hw/xen/xen_pt.c

This commit introduces a new vhost-user device for block, it uses a
chardev to connect with the backend, same with Qemu virito-blk device,
Guest OS still uses the virtio-blk frontend driver.
To use it, start QEMU with command line like this:
qemu-system-x86_64 \
-chardev socket,id=char0,path=/path/vhost.socket \
-device vhost-user-blk-pci,chardev=char0,num-queues=2, \
bootindex=2... \
Users can use different parameters for `num-queues` and `bootindex`.
Different with exist Qemu virtio-blk host device, it makes more easy
for users to implement their own I/O processing logic, such as all
user space I/O stack against hardware block device. It uses the new
vhost messages(VHOST_USER_GET_CONFIG) to get block virtio config
information from backend process.

The point of writing a macro embedded in a 'do { ... } while (0)'
loop (particularly if the macro has multiple statements or would
otherwise end with an 'if' statement) is so that the macro can be
used as a drop-in statement with the caller supplying the
trailing ';'. Although our coding style frowns on brace-less 'if':
if (cond)
statement;
else
something else;
that is the classic case where failure to use do/while(0) wrapping
would cause the 'else' to pair with any embedded 'if' in the macro
rather than the intended outer 'if'. But conversely, if the macro
includes an embedded ';', then the same brace-less coding style
would now have two statements, making the 'else' a syntax error
rather than pairing with the outer 'if'. Thus, even though our
coding style with required braces is not impacted, ending a macro
with ';' makes our code harder to port to projects that use
brace-less styles.
The change should have no semantic impact. I was not able to
fully compile-test all of the changes (as some of them are
examples of the ugly bit-rotting debug print statements that are
completely elided by default, and I didn't want to recompile
with the necessary -D witnesses - cleaning those up is left as a
bite-sized task for another day); I did, however, audit that for
all files touched, all callers of the changed macros DID supply
a trailing ';' at the callsite, and did not appear to be used
as part of a brace-less conditional.
Found mechanically via: $ git grep -B1 'while (0);' | grep -A1 \\\\

virtio-blk logical block size should never be larger than physical block

have a way to effectively express this condition; the best it can do is
report the physical block exponent as 0 - indicating the logical block size
equals the physical block size.

When the function no success value to transmit, it usually make the
function return void. It has turned out not to be a success, because
it means that the extra local_err variable and error_propagate() will
be needed. It leads to cumbersome code, therefore, transmit success/
failure in the return value is worth.
So fix the return type of blkconf_apply_backend_options(),
blkconf_geometry() and virtio_blk_data_plane_create() to avoid it.

Trying to call xengnttab_set_max_grants() with the same file handle
might fail on some kernels, as this operation is allowed only once.
This is a problem for the qdisk backend as blk_connect() can be
called multiple times for a domain, e.g. in case grub-xen is being
used to boot it.
So instead of letting the generic backend code open the gnttab device
do it in blk_connect() and close it again in blk_disconnect.

The number of queues that should be return by the admin command should:
1) Only mention the number of non-admin queues.
2) It is zero-based, meaning that '0 == one non-admin queue',
'1 == two non-admin queues', and so forth.
Because our `num_queues` means the number of queues _plus_ the admin
queue, then the right calculation for the number returned from the admin
command is `num_queues - 2`, combining the two requirements mentioned.
The issue was discovered by reducing num_queues from 64 to 8 and running
a Linux VM with an SMP parameter larger than that (e.g. 22). It tries to
utilize all queues, and therefore fails with an invalid queue number
when trying to queue I/Os on the last queue.

Since we pass the same DeviceState object to

we can switch to using memory_region_init_rom_device() instead.

Rename memory_region_init_ram() to memory_region_init_ram_nomigrate().
This leaves the way clear for us to provide a memory_region_init_ram()
which does handle migration.

It is hard to analyze trace logs with multiple virtio-blk devices
because none of the trace events include the VirtIODevice *vdev.
This patch adds vdev so it's clear which device a request is associated
with.
I considered using VirtIOBlock *s instead but VirtIODevice *vdev is more
general and may be correlated with generic virtio trace events like
virtio_set_status.

In some cases a failing VMSTATE_*_EQUAL does not mean we detected a bug,
but it's actually the best we can do. Especially in these cases a verbose
error message is required.
Let's introduce infrastructure for specifying a error hint to be used if
equal check fails. Let's do this by adding a parameter to the _EQUAL
macros called _err_hint. Also change all current users to pass NULL as
last parameter so nothing changes for them.

The blkif protocol has had provision for negotiation of multi-page shared
rings for some time now and many guest OS have support in their frontend
drivers.
This patch makes the necessary modifications to xen-disk support a shared
ring up to order 4 (i.e. 16 pages).

Rather than constructing a local structure instance on the stack, fill
the fields directly on the shared ring, just like other (Linux)

actually identical (aside from alignment and padding at the end).
This is XSA-216.

Add the ability for the NVMe model to support both the RDS and WDS
modes in the Controller Memory Buffer.
Although not currently supported in the upstreamed Linux kernel a fork
with support exists [1] and user-space test programs that build on
this also exist [2].
Useful for testing CMB functionality in preperation for real CMB
enabled NVMe devices (coming soon).

Implement NVMe Controller Memory Buffers (CMBs) which were added in
version 1.2 of the NVMe Specification. This patch adds an optional
argument (cmb_size_mb) which indicates the size of the CMB (in
MB). Currently only the Submission Queue Support (SQS) is enabled
which aligns with the current Linux driver for NVMe.
