gwr 371ce0e795 Remove _ZLIB_PRIVATE and all related changes. The "exported" API 
of this library includes the typedefs in zconf.h so export it too.
Our zlib should now work with "png" (fixes PR lib/3030).

phil 80e042614d Update gcc2netbsd to generate the current gcc tree when given gcc-2.7.2. 
Added a new patch mechanism to gcc2netbsd so changes from the FSF source
are seen in gcc2netbsd.  Sync some Makefiles to output of current gcc2netbsd.
(Cosmetic changes only to the Makefiles.)

jtc d46e665a16 Faster versions of bcmp(), bcopy(), bzero(), and memset(). 
The implementation of these functions is losely based on the original
BSD code plus versions I was working on which would yeild code tuned
for a particular m68k or coldfire family cpu, code space or run time
efficiency, etc. depending on the values of various macros.

My original code was intended for use in OS-less embedded systems.
Because NetBSD can not benefit from the considerable complexity, I've
removed the extraneous preprocessor goop.  The resulting code is tuned
for the '020 - '060.  It will not function on the '000 or coldfire.

augustss 9d5e7c9a4c Add audio utility programs. 
The audio device can be inspected and changed by audioctl,
and the mixer device by mixerctl.  The command syntax was
inspired by sysctl.

scottr 5b80f9077f Tweak sbc_drq_intr() (interrupt-driven PDMA interrupt handler); it 
now works properly on at least some disks.  Further testing is
necessary.

fvdl fe28924160 * If nfs_reconnect fails, be sure to release the sndlock, otherwise no 
other requests will get through and the mount point will be effectively dead.
  This could happen for mounts using TCP and -i and/or -s.
* Reserve enough space for UDP sockets. Fixes PR 3008, from Naofumi Honda.

thorpej e98c5a9b1c Fix two boundary/overflow errors in extent_alloc_subregion(): 
(1): "substart == ex->ex_end" and "subend == ex->ex_start"
     are completely legal parameters for extent_alloc_subregion()
(2): "(subend - substart) + 1" can cause an overflow if the whole
    numeric range is covered by the extent.

kleink 9c03d5cf55 When doing a CREATE, RENAME or DELETE w/ DOWHITEOUT and ISWHITEOUT lookup on a 
non-existent file and the end of the pathname is reached, and this `current'
directory resides on a read-only mounted file system, don't update/prepare
its inode for the actual operation but return EROFS.
