thorpej e328e13450 Oops, in some delay slot confusion, I ended up clobbering s0 before it
restored pcb_onfault. Make it the way I wrote it originally, which was
correct. Pointed out by Michael Hitch and Charles Hannum.

mycroft 74ad07cef5 Revert the functional change in rev 1.38; permit a msg_iovlen of 0.
There are two reasons for this:
* We should be able to pass file descriptors without sending any data.
* We could send zero-length iovecs anyway (but we shouldn't have to do this).
Also, msg_iovlen is already a u_int, so delete a bunch of casts.

wrstuden f0559087e0 Changes to deal with mac serial ports having clock sources on DCD or CTS.
- When doing a first open, don't enable receive & status interupts before
the MD layer has had a chance to set things up.
- Enable logic to only enable DCD/CTS interupts if we are looking for/
expecting interupts on those pins. Disable otherwise.
- in zs_param, only pass up the state of ZSRR0_DCD if we have enabled
	interupts on that pin.

Henry Hotz (<hotz@jpl.nasa.gov>) and Greg walsh <gwalsh@artec.com> have
tried these changes to get certain printers from hanging at boot. They
work in a 1.3.2 kernel for Greg.

drochner 9effbbe436 some restructuring, more or less to get support for weird IDE controllers,
eg the Cypress ISA bridge:
-put channel mapping into the chip specific part, unify with

-use pointer to channel data as function call argument wherever possible
 instead of the channel number
-allow the "compat" channel number to differ from the per-controller
channel number - for mapping and interrupt functions
-add support for SiS5598 and Cypress 82C693 chips
Mostly done by Manuel, I only contributed to the first 2 items.

drochner 3e38051bc5 in wdc_softc: access the per-channel data via a pointer array instead of
an array of fixed-sized channel_softc elements. This way IDE controllers
which more than 1 channel (pciide) can extend the channel data easily
for private needs.
To avoid the double dereference at runtime, change the argument of
wdcstart() to the channel data pointer instead of the array index.

thorpej ab1b371163 Implement config_detach(), mostly from Chris Demetriou, modified slightly
by Ken Hornstein and myself.

Add flags to struct device, and define one as "active". Devices are
initially active from config_attach(). Their active state may be changed
via config_activate() and config_deactivate().

These new functions assume that the device being manipulated will recursively
perform the action on its children.

Together, config_deactivate() and config_detach() may be used to implement
interrupt-driven device detachment. config_deactivate() will take care of
things that need to be performed at interrupt time, and config_detach()
(which must run in a valid thread context) finishes the job, which may
block.
