scw b5ad0bee9e Numerous fixes, and some more debug instrumentation.
NetBSD/sh5 now reaches multi-user, although there is still
an occasional wedging problem after a wee while of running.

scw e7281ceb93 - When casting void * to register_t, go via intptr_t instead of uintptr_t
so the register is correctly sign-extended.

 - Some comment fixes.

 - Restore the FP state from the sigcontext if FP regs were saved.

 - Fix up r0 for the benefit of the syscall stub.

mycroft 6f0fac5efa Pass down an additional flag to _rtld_relocate_nonplt_objects() which
indicates whether we're relocating ld.elf_so itself. Use this in some places

were actually noops, because RTLD_RELOCATE_SELF is not set, and therefore
dodebug is always true.)

mycroft 0df8d18100 Introduce a new flag, `isdynamic', which is used to remember whether the
executable was of type ET_DYN. Use this instead of `mainprog' to determine
whether we need to do base-relative fixups of the PLT. (This allows loading
non-relocatable objects, should we desire to do that at some point...)

gehenna 77a6b82b27 Merge the gehenna-devsw branch into the trunk.
This merge changes the device switch tables from static array to
dynamically generated by config(8).

- All device switches is defined as a constant structure in device drivers.

- The new grammer ``device-major'' is introduced to ``files''.

	device-major <prefix> char <num> [block <num>] [<rules>]

- All device major numbers must be listed up in port dependent majors.<arch>
  by using this grammer.

- Added the new naming convention.
  The name of the device switch must be <prefix>_[bc]devsw for auto-generation
  of device switch tables.

- The backward compatibility of loading block/character device
  switch by LKM framework is broken. This is necessary to convert
  from block/character device major to device name in runtime and vice versa.

- The restriction to assign device major by LKM is completely removed.
  We don't need to reserve LKM entries for dynamic loading of device switch.

- In compile time, device major numbers list is packed into the kernel and
  the LKM framework will refer it to assign device major number dynamically.

lukem c788921e6a In compare_dir(), when files don't match print:
src != dest
instead of:
	dest != src
I think that's less confusing and more consistent.

In do_postfix(), if ${SRC_DIR}/gnu/dist/postfix/conf doesn't exist and
${DEST_DIR}/usr/share/examples/postfix does, use the latter for the
${DEST_DIR}/etc/postfix checks. This means that postinstall can be
run in a temporary directory which has etc.tgz extracted into it
with -s `pwd`, (versus against a source tree), and the postfix upgrade
works correctly.

Remove some unnecessary goop.

jdolecek 8b77a9070a put an explicit .MAIN target before the .if make() condition; apparently
.MAIN must be defined for the implicit target rule to kick in
this fixes compilation with call like 'make', i.e. without specified target

another option would be to move the .if make() condition after config(8)
generated goo, since config(8) implicitly generates a .MAIN: directive too,
but the MD .if make() really belongs into (7) misc settings section IMHO

mycroft a04012e731 Split _rtld_relocate_plt_object() into two MD functions:
* _rtld_relocate_plt_lazy() fixes up all the relocs pointing to the PLT. (On
  most platforms it just does a simple base-relative fixup; on SPARC it does
  nothing.)
* _rtld_relocate_plt_object() does immediate binding for a PLT entry.
The basic gist is that this saves a bit of time on SPARC (where the iteration
through the pltrela table was gratuitous), and a little less time on all other
platforms. A whole lot of #ifdef'ed crap is moved out of reloc.c, too.
