067a3b897d Update the file system snapshot driver: 
- Document the kernel thread.
- Rename some functions and variables.
- Return EROFS where appropriate.
- Use shifts instead of 64-bit divide.
- Use a simple_lock to make it MP-safe.
- Add M_CANFAIL to malloc to avoid panic on large cluster size.
- Allow sparse file for backing store and use VOP_BALLOC() to allocate
  space. Default size of backing store is the size of the file system.

ed68c4e34c Allow vfs_write_suspend() to wait if the file system is already 
suspending.

Move vfs_write_suspend() and vfs_write_resume() from kern/vfs_vnops.c
to kern/vfs_subr.c.

Change vnode write gating in ufs/ffs/ffs_softdep.c (from FreeBSD).

When vnodes are throttled in softdep_trackbufs() check for
file system suspension every 10 msecs to avoid a deadlock.

62eaaceeea Don't define DDXTIME on mac68k. This will let us use GetTimeInMillis()

f3bab2a8fc Implement ``one'' prefix to allow a "one shot" operation as if 
${rcvar}=yes yet all the other prerequisite tests are still performed.
The existing ``force'' prefix is a sledgehammer that ignores all the
prerequisite checks and always returns a zero exit status; this is a
more gentle approach to the problem of "manipulate this disabled
service without editing rc.conf(5)".

0c041019a4 Add support for some more Marvell-based adapters to the sk driver: 
D-Link DGE-530T
	Linksys EG1032v2
	Linksys EG1064v2

The Linux driver treats all of these the same.  Tested with a DGE-530T;
it works, though performance on at least one of my systems is atrocious.

Fix setting of ethernet capabilities into interface capabilites word in
attach routine.

Manual page: note that jumbo support doesn't work and checksum support
doesn't exist.

7db1d33cba Modify the licences of code written by Theo De Raadt from a 4-clause 
to a 2-clause licence (retaining UCB clauses (1) and (2)), per PR
22409 from Joel Baker, approved by Theo de Raadt, and ratified by
myself - the only discrepancy being the handling of the original
clause 3 in src/usr.sbin/yppoll/yppoll.c.

fbae381aaa The file system snapshot pseudo driver. 
Uses a hook in spec_strategy() to save data written from a mounted
file system to its block device and a hook in dounmount().

Not enabled by default in any kernel config.

Enable the in-tree toolchain on sh5, at least for the time being so I
can evaluate the situation.

There are still numerous problems with gcc3's sh5 support, not least
of which is the fact that a native gcc3 doesn't work at all. As a
cross-compiler, it works reasonably well. Certainly enough to build
userland and kernel code.

Binutils also has problems dealing with shared libraries on sh5, so
we're back to static userland for now.

ce29aa2370 build lib{opcodes,bfd,iberty} back in gnu/lib instead of gnu/usr.bin/binutils 
as they are needed earlier than when gnu/usr.bin/binutils is built when

Add Xr to syctl(3) and a bulletted list summarizing some of the
TCP parameters that may be adjusted that are documented therein.

6d246880fb In the various _MKTARGET macros, prepend "${.OBJDIR:T}/" to the ${.TARGET}, 
to provide more context about the operation.  Especially useful for crunched

db71356cd1 - Change callout_setfunc() to require that the callout handle is already 
initialized.  Update the txp(4) to compensate.
- Statically initialize the TCP timer callout handles in the tcpcb
  template.  We still use callout_setfunc(), but that call is now much
  less expensive.  Add a comment that the compiler is likely to unroll
  the loop (so don't sweat that it's there).

	#  runs at MAKEVERBOSE==1, with command lines suppressed

*	Don't bother prefixing commands with a line of  ${_MKCMD}\
	and instead rely upon "make -s".  This is less intrusive on
	all the Makefiles than the former.  Idea from David Laight.

    *	Rename the variables use to print messages.  The scheme now is:
	    _MKMSG_FOO		Run  _MKMSG 'foo'
	    _MKTARGET_FOO	Run  _MKMSG_FOO ${.TARGET}

<sys/bootblock.h>:
    *	Added definitions for the Master Boot Record (MBR) used by
	a variety of systems (primarily i386), including the format
	of the BIOS Parameter Block (BPB).
	This information was cribbed from a variety of sources
	including <sys/disklabel_mbr.h> which this is a superset of.

	As part of this, some data structure elements and #defines
	were renamed to be more "namespace friendly" and consistent
	with other bootblocks and MBR documentation.
	Update all uses of the old names to the new names.

<sys/disklabel_mbr.h>:
    *	Deprecated in favor of <sys/bootblock.h> (the latter is more
	"host tool" friendly).

amd64 & i386:
    *	Renamed /usr/mdec/bootxx_dosfs to /usr/mdec/bootxx_msdos, to
	be consistent with the naming convention of the msdosfs tools.

    *	Removed /usr/mdec/bootxx_ufs, as it's equivalent to bootxx_ffsv1
	and it's confusing to have two functionally equivalent bootblocks,
	especially given that "ufs" has multiple meanings (it could be
	a synonym for "ffs", or the group of ffs/lfs/ext2fs file systems).

    *	Rework pbr.S (the first sector of bootxx_*):
	    +	Ensure that BPB (bytes 11..89) and the partition table
		(bytes 446..509) do not contain code.
	    +	Add support for booting from FAT partitions if BOOT_FROM_FAT
		is defined.  (Only set for bootxx_msdos).
	    +	Remove "dummy" partition 3; if people want to installboot(8)
		these to the start of the disk they can use fdisk(8) to
		create a real MBR partition table...
	    +	Compile with TERSE_ERROR so it fits because of the above.
		Whilst this is less user friendly, I feel it's important
		to have a valid partition table and BPB in the MBR/PBR.

    *	Renamed /usr/mdec/biosboot to /usr/mdec/boot, to be consistent
	with other platforms.

    *	Enable SUPPORT_DOSFS in /usr/mdec/boot (stage2), so that
    	we can boot off FAT partitions.

    *	Crank version of /usr/mdec/boot to 3.1, and fix some of the other
	entries in the version file.

installboot(8) (i386):
    *	Read the existing MBR of the filesystem and retain the BIOS
    	Parameter Block (BPB) in bytes 11..89 and the MBR partition
	table in bytes 446..509.  (Previously installboot(8) would
	trash those two sections of the MBR.)

mbrlabel(8):
    *	Use sys/lib/libkern/xlat_mbr_fstype.c instead of homegrown code
	to map the MBR partition type to the NetBSD disklabel type.


Test built "make release" for i386, and new bootblocks verified to work
(even off FAT!).

58d2d9a196 Set _LIBLDOPTS to set -Wl,-rpath-link -R -L appropriately based 
on the setting of ${SHLIBDIR} and ${SHLIBINSTALLDIR} (_not_ ${_LIBSODIR}).

Fixes cruel and unusual ^W^W^W obscure native-build and not-so-obscure
cross-builds problems I was having with shared libraries with a
non-base LIBDIR (e.g, /usr/X11R6/lib) that use LDADD to pull in other
libraries from /usr/lib (such as libm) which are really in /lib and the
symlink from ${DESTDIR}/usr/lib/libm.so to /lib/libm.so.N.M was confusing
the linker.  Stuffing -rpath-link ${DESTDIR}/lib in solves the problem.

This should mean that shared libraries that depend upon other shared
libraries in other directories should DTRT in a DESTDIR (cross-)build...
