Upgraded sendmail from revision 8.1C to 8.3;
...
this version of sendmail tries to use sysconf() if the _SC_* macros
are defined in unistd.h. We have the macros but not
the function. A temporary "fix" has been made to avoid
the issue.

integer arguments were not coerced to strings for the `:' operator.
...
bad things: core dumps, etc. will happen if integer values make it
up the parse tree.

ps -o command
outputs blank lines [or, in NetBSD, seg faults]
ps -o time,command
works.

allocate out of kmem_map, not buffer_map. buffer_map is for
...
*buffers*... hopefully this won't fragment kmem_map too much.
it should probably be put into its own map, but doesn't need to be
right now.
