wiz ccaa2ac97b Import of texinfo-4.7, as prepared by texinfo2netbsd.
Changes since 4.6:

4.7 (9 April 2004)
* Language:
  . new commands @float, @caption, @shortcaption, @listoffloats for
    initial implementation of floating material (figures, tables, etc).
    Ironically, they do not yet actually float anywhere.
  . new commands @docbook, @ifdocbook, @ifnotdocbook for conditional Docbook.
  . new commands @ordf{} and @ordm{} for Spanish feminine/masculine ordinals.
  . new commands @deftypecv[x] for class variables in typed OO languages.
  . new command @registeredsymbol for the r-in-a-circle symbol.
  . new command @headitem to make a heading row in @multitable.
  . new command @LaTeX{} for the LaTeX logo.
  . new command @comma{} to avoid comma-parsing problems.
  . @url is now a synonym for @uref; new command @indicateurl has the
    old meaning of just displaying a url as text.
  . @quotation now accepts an optional argument for labelling the text
      as a `Note', `Tip', etc.
  . @defun (et al.) heading lines can now be continued with a lone @.
  . @acronym accepts an optional argument for the meaning of the acronym.
* makeinfo:
  . New environment variable TEXINFO_OUTPUT_FORMAT determines the output
    format at runtime, if no options are specified.
  . New option --plaintext, equivalent to --no-headers with Info output.
  . All outputs:
    - sections are numbered by default.
  . Info output:
    - punctuation is inserted after @pxref and @ref, if needed to make
      cross-references valid.
    - line numbers included in index menus, so Info readers can go to
      the exact line of an entry, not just a node. Also in plaintext output.
    - ^@^H[index^@^H] cookie included in index menus, so Info readers
      can handle the ] etc. commands better.
  . HTML output:
    - new algorithm for cross-references to other manuals, for maximum
      portability and stability.
    - include node name in <title> with split output.
    - @multicolumn fractions become percentages.
    - entities used for bullets, quotes, dashes, and others.
    - index entries are links to the exact locations.
    - <h4> and <h5> used for @sub and @subsubsections again.
    - accented dotless i supported.
  . XML output: many new tags and structure to preserve more source features.
  . Docbook output:
    - upgraded DTD to Docbook XML 4.2, no longer using Docbook SGML.
    - improved translation in general, for instance:
    - line annotations and marked quotations.
* texi2dvi:
  . if available, use etex (pdfetex if --pdf) by default.
  . if the input file includes thumbpdf.sty (for LaTeX), then run thumbpdf.
  . more output if --debug.
* texinfo.tex:
  . @defun names are now printed in typewriter (instead of bold), and
    within the arguments, @var text is printed in slanted typewriter.
  . @tex code is executed inside a TeX group, so that any changes must
    be prefixed with \global (or the equivalent) to be effective. (This
    change was actually made years ago, but never made it into the NEWS.)
* info:
  . new option --where (aka --location, -w) to report where an Info file
    would be found, instead of reading it.
  . by default, output ANSI terminal escape sequences as-is; new option
    --no-raw-escapes overrides this.
  . use the newly-generated index line numbers.
* Distribution:
  . new script gendocs.sh (not installed), for use by GNU maintainers in
    getting their manuals on the GNU web site. Documented in
    maintain.texi (http://www.gnu.org/prep/maintain_toc.html).
  . Most code uses ANSI C prototypes, to some extent.
  . New translation: nb.
  . automake 1.8.3, autoconf 2.59, gettext 0.14.1.

christos 3a471759da PR/26201: Jukka Salmi: sysinst dumps core on NetBSD 2.0_BETA i386
The problem is that current_cylsize is used in the menu to select
rounding, and it is un-initialized at this point.
XXX: Must be pulled up to 2.0

jonathan e5f57f3a70 Commit changes from Heimdal-current, as per discussion with Love
(lha@NetBSD.ORG), to incorporate contemporary (last-year-ish)
set-password and change-password extensions derived RFC-3244
(Microsoft set-password/change-password extensions), and the
subsequent MIT-KRB5 APIs for changing and setting passwords.

Required for compatibility with recent (2002/2003-ish) open-source
code which uses the MIT KRB5 APIs for setting passwords, or for
joining Microsoft domains as a "computer account".

Modified files (for pullup tracking purposes):

 	crypto/dist/heimdal/lib/krb5/changepw.c

tsutsui fff3ff1b2c Add a working driver for O2 (IP32) on-board MACE MAC-110 Ethernet.
Note:
- I don't have any hardware docments for this device, so this driver might
  have some odd descriptions guessed by results of try-and-errors.
  (the only info I have is the Linux driver, but I think it doesn't describe
   the hardware specifications very well anyway)
- All RX packets and most TX packets are copied from/to buffers in the driver
  due to hardware restriction, so performance is not so good for now.
  Maybe RX packets can be directly DMA'ed to mbufs by the same method used
  of fxp(4), but the hardware seems to require 4kbyte aligned RX buffers.
- Multicast filter setup function is not tested yet (no info).
- Currently only tested on R5000 O2 with disabled L2 cache, so needs
  more tests on other CPU (i.e. RM5200/R10000/R12000) models.
- Currently BUS_DMA_COHERENT is not used for the device control data DMA
  to avoid performance issue on memcpy() against RX buffers, but it might be
  problematic when L2 cache is enabled or on R10000 models.

nathanw 86906dceb8 Remove SKIP_FUNCn quirks for SC1100 companion chip; the fix to SMM in

(this was the only use and the reason for the invention of the
SKIP_FUNCn quirk; it should probably be removed entirely).

nathanw 7e753fcf97 cyrix6x86_cpu_setup: Save and restore the original value of CCR3
across the "coma bug" workaround to avoid clearing the MAPEN bit if it
was originally set by firmware. This appears necessary for proper
functioning of SMM on Geode CPUs, and thus for proper emulation (ugh)
of access to certain PCI configuration registers or VGA register
spaces. With this change, VGA and soundblaster emulation work on Geode
NX1 systems.

This was also the underlying problem that led to the introduction of
the PCI_QUIRK_SKIP_FUNCn quirks in pci_quirks.c, which are no longer
necessary (and counterproductive if you want to use VGA or a
Geode-specific audio driver). See the thread "pci probe" on port-i386
in August 2003 (The Soekris 4801, apparantly the most popular
Geode-based NetBSD box, has neither VGA nor audio, which may explain
why this wasn't noticed at the time).
