wiz 05686e9c80 While we provide gettimeofday, it's only needed by texindex if
mkstemp is not found. The configure test for gettimeofday is thus
only run in that case, which explains why HAVE_GETTIMEOFDAY was
not defined by default in the resulting config.h. Since we don't
need gettimeofday, don't define HAVE_GETTIMEOFDAY manually to
simplify updates to this file.

uwe 96538bcf9e * add ${GCCARCH} to .PATH to make hconfig.h a real file target.
* use ${G_HCONFIG_H} instead of hconfig.h as a dependency.
* hconfig.h: auto-build.h dependency is bogus, remove.
* misc cleanup of ".c depends on .h" -> ".o depends on .h"
* options.h was missing from CLEANFILES.

With these changes running make in this directory doesn't do a
*complete* rebuild anymore. Still not foolproof, because gen* host
tools do not overwrite generated files that are not changed, so we
really need to use stamp file style dependencies for those, like gcc
makefile does.

code to emit profile counters and the FUNCTION_PROFILER macro in this

because FUNCTION_PROFILER used local numeric labels instead of using
LABELNO, so it caused no conflict.

This makes -pg code compilable.

lukem 64b5a0fe7b Add INCSYMLINKS to <bsd.inc.mk> and <bsd.kinc.mk>, and use that instead of
SYMLINKS to install symlinked header files. INCSYMLINKS are installed with
'make includes'. This avoids using SYMLINKS and hacks with the 'linkinstall'
target in <bsd.links.mk>, as linksinstall occurs in 'make install' and hacks
to get it to occur in 'make includes' weren't robust, as seen in lib/libdes.

lukem a93ea220fc Rework how dependency generation is performed:
* DPSRCS contains extra dependencies, but is _NOT_ added to CLEANFILES.
  This is a change of behaviour. If a Makefile wants the clean semantics
  it must specifically append to CLEANFILES.
  Resolves PR toolchain/5204.

* To recap: .d (depend) files are generated for all files in SRCS and DPSRCS
  that have a suffix of: .c .m .s .S .C .cc .cpp .cxx

* If YHEADER is set, automatically add the .y->.h to DPSRCS & CLEANFILES

* Ensure that ${OBJS} ${POBJS} ${LOBJS} ${SOBJS} *.d  depend upon ${DPSRCS}

* Deprecate the (short lived) DEPENDSRCS

Update the various Makefiles to these new semantics; generally either
adding to CLEANFILES (because DPSRCS doesn't do that anymore), or replacing
specific .o dependencies with DPSRCS entries.

Tested with "make -j 8 distribution" and "make distribution".

lukem 001c68bd94 Rename a large chunk of the make(1) variables which refer to a

	TOOL_ASN1_COMPILE  TOOL_CAP_MKDB  TOOL_CAT  TOOL_CKSUM  TOOL_COMPILE_ET
	TOOL_CONFIG  TOOL_CRUNCHGEN  TOOL_CTAGS  TOOL_DB  TOOL_EQN  TOOL_FGEN

	TOOL_ROFF_RAW  TOOL_RPCGEN  TOOL_SOELIM  TOOL_SUNLABEL  TOOL_TBL
	TOOL_UUDECODE  TOOL_VGRIND  TOOL_ZIC

For each, provide default in <bsd.sys.mk> of the form:
	TOOL_FOO?=	foo
and for the ${USETOOLS}=="yes" case in <bsd.own.mk>, provide override:
	TOOL_FOO=	${TOOLDIR}/bin/${_TOOL_PREFIX}foo

Document all of these in bsd.README.

This cleans up a chunk of potential (and actual) namespace collision
within our build infrastructure, as well as improves consistency in
the share/mk documentation and provision of appropriate defaults for
each of these variables.

installing two new libraries (and two lint thingys, but no shared or

Shared libraries (etc) could be built, but as I'm currently unsure of
the ABI/API stability, I'm going to examine it more closely before
enabling it, as opposed to finding out later that it's volatile and
disabling it.

NOTE! We really ought to have a generic rc.d script to start the
milters (before sendmail or any other MTA that you have that uses
them), but I haven't finished it yet. The milter support here is
being enabled to satisfy current popular demand. I'll come up with a
script soon. Unless someone feels like beating me to it. So until
then, you're on your own.
