Groff

o The argument of the command line option `-I' is now also passed to troff
and grops, specifying a directory to search for files on the command line,
files named in `so' and `psbb' requests, and files named in \X'ps: file'
and \X'ps: import' escapes.
o If option `-V' is used more than once, the commands will be both printed
on standard error and run.
Troff
-----
o Two new read-only, string-valued registers `.m' and `.M' return the
name of the current drawing and background color, respectively.
o New read-only register `.U' which is set to 1 if in safer mode and set
to 0 if in unsafe mode.
o An input encoding file for latin-5 (a.k.a. ISO 8859-9) has been added.
Example use:
groff -Tdvi -mlatin5 my_file > my_file.dvi
Note that some output devices don't support all glyphs of this encoding.
o If the `return' request is called with an argument, it exits twice,
namely the current macro and the macro one level higher. This is
used to define a wrapper macro for `return' in trace.tmac.
o For completeness, two new requests have been added: `dei1' and `ami1'.
They are equivalent to `dei' and `ami', respectively, but the macros
are executed with compatibility mode off (similar to `de1' and `am1').
o New command line option `-I' to specify a directory for files (both
those on the command line and those named in `psbb' requests). This is
also handled by the groff wrapper program.
o Since version 1.19 you can say `.vs 0'. Older versions emit a warning
and convert this to `.vs \n[.V]'.
This hasn't been documented properly. Note that `.vs 0' isn't saved in a
diversion since it doesn't result in vertical motion.

Additionally, font description files have been added for the Arial and
Times New Roman family, the MS symbol, and Wingdings fonts.

Bump version to 20040730
Addresses PR 26429; a different version of these mods were verified to
allow a +BUILD_INFO-less binary package to be added by Martin Husemann.
At the moment this only affects the display part, hiding console colors,
border color and/or console scrollback if their respective ioctls are
not supported by the running kernel.
Trying to write to these variables will still fail with the correct ioctl
error message.
WSDISPLAY_BORDER_COLOR option, broken by a last-minute change.
Pointed out by xtraeme@.
Also back out the previous change by dogcow@, which was an attempt
to fix kernel builds that didn't define WSDISPLAY_CUSTOM_BORDER;
shouldn't be needed now. (Problem also introduced by the same
last-minute change; sorry).
libraries to LDADD & DPADD for the current library, using -L OBJDIR-of-DEPLIB
so that the current library can link with the DEPLIB library built but
not installed.
Set DEPLIBS appropriately, rather than explictly adding LDADD/DPADD
for various libraries.
Reorder library build order so that libraries that depend upon any
other library are built at the end.
Whilst this change could be done in a more generic manner (and I
intend to work on that), it does remove the need to implement
top-level build targets such as "do-lib-des" (etc).
at the moment.
This includes the addition of two new wsdisplay ioctls, WSDISPLAY_{G,S}BORDER,
one to get the actual color and one to set it, respectively. Possible colors
match those defined by ANSI (and listed in wsdisplayvar.h).
It also adds two accessops to the underlying graphics device, getborder and
setborder, which mach their ioctl counterparts.
Two kernel options are added: WSDISPLAY_CUSTOM_BORDER, which enables the
ioctls described above (to customize the border color from userland after
boot), and WSDISPLAY_BORDER_COLOR, which sets the color at boot time.
The former is enabled by default on the GENERIC kernel, but not on INSTALL
(among others). The later is always commented out, leaving the usual black
border as a default.
wsconsctl is modified to allow accessing this value easily. For example,
'wsconsctl -d -w border=blue'.
ieee80211_input():
* Do not discard management frames in station mode just because they have
the wrong BSSID.
* Do not discard beacons in station and host-AP mode when not scanning.
* Some minor rearrangement. Update node statistics even if the packet is
rejected.
ieee80211_recv_mgmt():
* Accept probe responses and beacons in station and host-AP even when not
scanning.
* Do not immediately free the node created by a beacon or probe response.
XXX Should I check BSSIDs more carefully in ieee80211_recv_mgmt() --
specifically for ASSOC_RESP, REASSOC_RESP, AUTH, DEAUTH and DISASSOC?
Fix a problem with APs that advertise multiple SSIDs:
Change the footprint of ieee80211_find_node_with_channel() to take a SSID as
well, and, if not empty, compared it with the existing nodes. This causes
us to allocate multiple nodes for the same AP. Without this we were only
leaving one SSID in the node table, which might not be the desired one, and
so the interface would fail to fully initialize. (Reported by he@ with a
Cisco 350 AP.)
gets used if nothing else is defined in MD headers,
introduce a "PCI_MACHDEP_ENUMERATE_BUS" CPP definition which can
be used by MD headers (just 1 port atm) to plug in special code
library objects, rather than using OBJS to refer to them. This gives us
a separate variable to refer to static library objects that does not affect
profile library objects (which has POBJS) or shared library objects (which
has SOBJS).
Two new ioctls are added to the wsdisplay device, named WSDISPLAY_GMSGATTRS
and WSDISPLAY_SMSGATTRS, used to retrieve the actual values and set them,
respectively (the name, if you are wondering, comes from "message attributes").
A new emulop is added to the underlying display driver (only vga, for now)
which sets the new attribute for the whole screen, without having to clear
it. This is optional, which means that this also works with other drivers
that don't have this new operation.
Five new kernel options have been added, although only documented in
i386 kernels (for now):
- WSDISPLAY_CUSTOM_OUTPUT, which enables the ioctls described above to
change the colors dynamically from userland. This is enabled by default
in the GENERIC kernel (as well as others) but disabled on all INSTALL*
kernels (as this feature is useless there).
- WS_DEFAULT_COLATTR, WS_DEFAULT_MONOATTR, WS_DEFAULT_BG and WS_DEFAULT_FG,
which specify the default colors for the console at boot time. These have
the same meaning as the (already existing) WS_KERNEL_* variables.
wsconsctl is modified to add msg.default.{attrs,bg,fg} and
msg.kernel.{attrs,bg,fg} to the display part, so that colors can be changed
after boot.
Tested on NetBSD/i386 with vga (and vga in mono mode), and on NetBSD/mac68k.
No objections in tech-kern@.
