Support DMA read/write draining should be easy for existing VT-d
emulation since the emulation itself does not have any request queue
there so we don't need to do anything to flush the un-commited queue.
What we need to do is to declare the support.
These capabilities are required to pass Windows SVVP test program. It
is verified that when with parameters "x-aw-bits=48,caching-mode=off"
we can pass the Windows SVVP test with this patch applied. Otherwise
we'll fail with:
IOMMU[0] - DWD (DMA write draining) not supported
IOMMU[0] - DWD (DMA read draining) not supported
Segment 0 has no DMA remapping capable IOMMU units
However since these bits are not declared support for QEMU<=3.1, we'll
need a compatibility bit for it and we turn this on by default only
for QEMU>=4.0.
Please refer to VT-d spec 6.5.4 for more information.

Certain configurations do not allow SynIC to be used in QEMU. In
particular,
- when hyperv_vpindex is off, SINT routes can't be used as they refer to
the destination vCPU by vp_index
- older KVM (which doesn't expose KVM_CAP_HYPERV_SYNIC2) zeroes out
SynIC message and event pages on every msr load, breaking migration
OTOH in-KVM users of SynIC -- SynIC timers -- do work in those
configurations, and we shouldn't stop the guest from using them.
To cover both scenarios, introduce an X86CPU property that makes CPU
init code to skip creation of the SynIC object (and thus disables any
SynIC use in QEMU) but keeps the KVM part of the SynIC working.
The property is clear by default but is set via compat logic for older
machine types.
As a result, when hv_synic and a modern machine type are specified, QEMU
will refuse to run unless vp_index is on and the kernel is recent
enough. OTOH with an older machine type QEMU will run fine with
hv_synic=on against an older kernel and/or without vp_index enabled but
will disallow the in-QEMU uses of SynIC (in e.g. VMBus).

This patch fixes a potential small window that the DMA page table might
be incomplete or invalid when the guest sends domain/context
invalidations to a device. This can cause random DMA errors for
assigned devices.
This is a major change to the VT-d shadow page walking logic. It
includes but is not limited to:
- For each VTDAddressSpace, now we maintain what IOVA ranges we have
mapped and what we have not. With that information, now we only send
MAP or UNMAP when necessary. Say, we don't send MAP notifies if we
know we have already mapped the range, meanwhile we don't send UNMAP
notifies if we know we never mapped the range at all.
- Introduce vtd_sync_shadow_page_table[_range] APIs so that we can call
in any places to resync the shadow page table for a device.
- When we receive domain/context invalidation, we should not really run
the replay logic, instead we use the new sync shadow page table API to
resync the whole shadow page table without unmapping the whole
region. After this change, we'll only do the page walk once for each
domain invalidations (before this, it can be multiple, depending on
number of notifiers per address space).
While at it, the page walking logic is also refactored to be simpler.

SECURITY IMPLICATION: this patch fixes a potential race when multiple

Add a per-iommu big lock to protect IOMMU status. Currently the only
thing to be protected is the IOTLB/context cache, since that can be
accessed even without BQL, e.g., in IO dataplane.
Note that we don't need to protect device page tables since that's fully
controlled by the guest kernel. However there is still possibility that
malicious drivers will program the device to not obey the rule. In that
case QEMU can't really do anything useful, instead the guest itself will
be responsible for all uncertainties.

Currently when running KVM, we expose "KVMKVMKVM\0\0\0" in
the 0x40000000 CPUID leaf. Other hypervisors (VMWare,
HyperV, Xen, BHyve) all do the same thing, which leaves
TCG as the odd one out.
The CPUID signature is used by software to detect which
virtual environment they are running in and (potentially)
change behaviour in certain ways. For example, systemd
supports a ConditionVirtualization= setting in unit files.
The virt-what command can also report the virt type it is
running on
Currently both these apps have to resort to custom hacks
like looking for 'fw-cfg' entry in the /proc/device-tree
file to identify TCG.
This change thus proposes a signature "TCGTCGTCGTCG" to be
reported when running under TCG.
To hide this, the -cpu option tcg-cpuid=off can be used.

The q35 machine type currently lets the guest firmware select a 1MB, 2MB
or 8MB TSEG (basically, SMRAM) size. In edk2/OVMF, we use 8MB, but even
that is not enough when a lot of VCPUs (more than approx. 224) are
configured -- SMRAM footprint scales largely proportionally with VCPU
count.
Introduce a new property for "mch" called "extended-tseg-mbytes", which
expresses (in megabytes) the user's choice of TSEG (SMRAM) size.
Invent a new, QEMU-specific register in the config space of the DRAM
Controller, at offset 0x50, in order to allow guest firmware to query the
TSEG (SMRAM) size.
According to Intel Document Number 316966-002, Table 5-1 "DRAM Controller
Register Address Map (D0:F0)":
Warning: Address locations that are not listed are considered Intel
Reserved registers locations. Reads to Reserved registers may
return non-zero values. Writes to reserved locations may
cause system failures.
All registers that are defined in the PCI 2.3 specification,
but are not necessary or implemented in this component are
simply not included in this document. The
reserved/unimplemented space in the PCI configuration header
space is not documented as such in this summary.
Offsets 0x50 and 0x51 are not listed in Table 5-1. They are also not part
of the standard PCI config space header. And they precede the capability
list as well, which starts at 0xe0 for this device.
When the guest writes value 0xffff to this register, the value that can be
read back is that of "mch.extended-tseg-mbytes" -- unless it remains
0xffff. The guest is required to write 0xffff first (as opposed to a
read-only register) because PCI config space is generally not cleared on
QEMU reset, and after S3 resume or reboot, new guest firmware running on
old QEMU could read a guest OS-injected value from this register.
After reading the available "extended" TSEG size, the guest firmware may
actually request that TSEG size by writing pattern 11b to the ESMRAMC
register's TSEG_SZ bit-field. (The Intel spec referenced above defines
only patterns 00b (1MB), 01b (2MB) and 10b (8MB); 11b is reserved.)
On the QEMU command line, the value can be set with
-global mch.extended-tseg-mbytes=N
The default value for 2.10+ q35 machine types is 16. The value is limited
to 0xfff (4095) at the moment, purely so that the product (4095 MB) can be
stored to the uint32_t variable "tseg_size" in mch_update_smram(). Users
are responsible for choosing sensible TSEG sizes.
On 2.9 and earlier q35 machine types, the default value is 0. This lets
the 11b bit pattern in ESMRAMC.TSEG_SZ, and the register at offset 0x50,
keep their original behavior.
When "extended-tseg-mbytes" is nonzero, the new register at offset 0x50 is
set to that value on reset, for completeness.
PCI config space is migrated automatically, so no VMSD changes are
necessary.

Since the automatic cpuid-level code was introduced in commit
c39c0edf9b ("target-i386: Automatically
set level/xlevel/xlevel2 when needed"), the CPU model tables just define
the default CPUID level code (set using "min-level"). Setting
"[x]level" forces CPUID level to a specific value and disable the
automatic-level logic.
But the PC compat code was not updated and the existing "[x]level"
compat properties broke compatibility for people using features that
triggered the auto-level code. To keep previous behavior, we should set
"min-[x]level" instead of "[x]level" on compat_props.
This was not a problem for most cases, because old machine-types don't
have full-cpuid-auto-level enabled. The only common use case it broke
was the CPUID[7] auto-level code, that was already enabled since the
first CPUID[7] feature was introduced (in QEMU 1.4.0).
This causes the regression reported at:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1454641
Change the PC compat code to use "min-[x]level" instead of "[x]level" on

Since 2.7 commit (b2a575a Add optionrom compatible with fw_cfg DMA version)
regressed migration during firmware exection time by
abusing fwcfg.dma_enabled property to decide loading
dma version of option rom AND by mistake disabling DMA
for 2.6 and earlier globally instead of only for option rom.
so 2.6 machine type guest is broken when it already runs
firmware in DMA mode but migrated to qemu-2.7(pc-2.6)
at that time;
a) qemu-2.6:pc2.6 (fwcfg.dma=on,firmware=dma,oprom=ioport)
b) qemu-2.7:pc2.6 (fwcfg.dma=off,firmware=ioport,oprom=ioport)
to: a b
from
a OK FAIL
b OK OK
So we currently have broken forward migration from
qemu-2.6 to qemu-2.[789] that however could be fixed
for 2.10 by re-enabling DMA for 2.[56] machine types
and allowing dma capable option rom only since 2.7.
As result qemu should end up with:
c) qemu-2.10:pc2.6 (fwcfg.dma=on,firmware=dma,oprom=ioport)
to: a b c
from
a OK FAIL OK
b OK OK OK
c OK FAIL OK
where forward migration from qemu-2.6 to qemu-2.10 should
work again leaving only qemu-2.[789]:pc-2.6 broken.

This patch is based on Aviv Ben-David (<bd.aviv@gmail.com>)'s patch
upstream:
"IOMMU: enable intel_iommu map and unmap notifiers"
https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/qemu-devel/2016-11/msg01453.html
However I removed/fixed some content, and added my own codes.
Instead of translate() every page for iotlb invalidations (which is
slower), we walk the pages when needed and notify in a hook function.
This patch enables vfio devices for VT-d emulation.
And, since we already have vhost DMAR support via device-iotlb, a
natural benefit that this patch brings is that vt-d enabled vhost can
live even without ATS capability now. Though more tests are needed.

This is preparation work to finally enabled dynamic switching ON/OFF for
VT-d protection. The old VT-d codes is using static IOMMU address space,
and that won't satisfy vfio-pci device listeners.
Let me explain.
vfio-pci devices depend on the memory region listener and IOMMU replay
mechanism to make sure the device mapping is coherent with the guest
even if there are domain switches. And there are two kinds of domain
switches:
(1) switch from domain A -> B
(2) switch from domain A -> no domain (e.g., turn DMAR off)
Case (1) is handled by the context entry invalidation handling by the
VT-d replay logic. What the replay function should do here is to replay
the existing page mappings in domain B.
However for case (2), we don't want to replay any domain mappings - we
just need the default GPA->HPA mappings (the address_space_memory
mapping). And this patch helps on case (2) to build up the mapping
automatically by leveraging the vfio-pci memory listeners.
Another important thing that this patch does is to seperate
IR (Interrupt Remapping) from DMAR (DMA Remapping). IR region should not
depend on the DMAR region (like before this patch). It should be a
standalone region, and it should be able to be activated without
DMAR (which is a common behavior of Linux kernel - by default it enables
IR while disabled DMAR).

Migration from a 2.3.0 qemu results in a reboot on the receiving QEMU
due to a disagreement about SM (System management) interrupts.
2.3.0 didn't have much SMI support, but it did set CPU_INTERRUPT_SMI
and this gets into the migration stream, but on 2.3.0 it
never got delivered.
~2.4.0 SMI interrupt support was added but was broken - so
that when a 2.3.0 stream was received it cleared the CPU_INTERRUPT_SMI
but never actually caused an interrupt.
The SMI delivery was recently fixed by 68c6efe07a, but the
effect now is that an incoming 2.3.0 stream takes the interrupt it
had flagged but it's bios can't actually handle it(I think
partly due to the original interrupt not being taken during boot?).
The consequence is a triple(?) fault and a reboot.

The generic edk2 SMM infrastructure prefers
EFI_SMM_CONTROL2_PROTOCOL.Trigger() to inject an SMI on each processor. If
Trigger() only brings the current processor into SMM, then edk2 handles it
in the following ways:
(1) If Trigger() is executed by the BSP (which is guaranteed before
ExitBootServices(), but is not necessarily true at runtime), then:
(a) If edk2 has been configured for "traditional" SMM synchronization,
then the BSP sends directed SMIs to the APs with APIC delivery,
bringing them into SMM individually. Then the BSP runs the SMI
handler / dispatcher.
(b) If edk2 has been configured for "relaxed" SMM synchronization,
then the APs that are not already in SMM are not brought in, and
the BSP runs the SMI handler / dispatcher.
(2) If Trigger() is executed by an AP (which is possible after
ExitBootServices(), and can be forced e.g. by "taskset -c 1
efibootmgr"), then the AP in question brings in the BSP with a
directed SMI, and the BSP runs the SMI handler / dispatcher.
The smaller problem with (1a) and (2) is that the BSP and AP
synchronization is slow. For example, the "taskset -c 1 efibootmgr"
command from (2) can take more than 3 seconds to complete, because
efibootmgr accesses non-volatile UEFI variables intensively.
The larger problem is that QEMU's current behavior diverges from the
behavior usually seen on physical hardware, and that keeps exposing
obscure corner cases, race conditions and other instabilities in edk2,
which generally expects / prefers a software SMI to affect all CPUs at
once.
Therefore introduce the "broadcast SMI" feature that causes QEMU to inject
the SMI on all VCPUs.
While the original posting of this patch
<http://lists.nongnu.org/archive/html/qemu-devel/2015-10/msg05658.html>
only intended to speed up (2), based on our recent "stress testing" of SMM
this patch actually provides functional improvements.

Introduce the following fw_cfg files:
- "etc/smi/supported-features": a little endian uint64_t feature bitmap,
presenting the features known by the host to the guest. Read-only for
the guest.
The content of this file will be determined via bit-granularity ICH9-LPC
device properties, to be introduced later. For now, the bitmask is left
zeroed. The bits will be set from machine type compat properties and on
the QEMU command line, hence this file is not migrated.
- "etc/smi/requested-features": a little endian uint64_t feature bitmap,
representing the features the guest would like to request. Read-write
for the guest.
The guest can freely (re)write this file, it has no direct consequence.
Initial value is zero. A nonzero value causes the SMI-related fw_cfg
files and fields that are under guest influence to be migrated.
- "etc/smi/features-ok": contains a uint8_t value, and it is read-only for
the guest. When the guest selects the associated fw_cfg key, the guest
features are validated against the host features. In case of error, the
negotiation doesn't proceed, and the "features-ok" file remains zero. In
case of success, the "features-ok" file becomes (uint8_t)1, and the
negotiated features are locked down internally (to which no further
changes are possible until reset).
The initial value is zero. A nonzero value causes the SMI-related
fw_cfg files and fields that are under guest influence to be migrated.
The C-language fields backing the "supported-features" and
"requested-features" files are uint8_t arrays. This is because they carry
guest-side representation (our choice is little endian), while
VMSTATE_UINT64() assumes / implies host-side endianness for any uint64_t
fields. If we migrate a guest between hosts with different endiannesses
(which is possible with TCG), then the host-side value is preserved, and
the host-side representation is translated. This would be visible to the
guest through fw_cfg, unless we used plain byte arrays. So we do.

Cluster x2APIC cannot work without KVM's x2apic API when the maximal
APIC ID is greater than 8 and only KVM's LAPIC can support x2APIC, so we
forbid other APICs and also the old KVM case with less than 9, to
simplify the code.
There is no point in enabling EIM in forbidden APICs, so we keep it
enabled only for the KVM APIC; unconditionally, because making the
option depend on KVM version would be a maintanance burden.
Old QEMUs would enable eim whenever intremap was on, which would trick
guests into thinking that they can enable cluster x2APIC even if any
interrupt destination would get clamped to 8 bits.
Depending on your configuration, QEMU could notice that the destination
LAPIC is not present and report it with a very non-obvious:
KVM: injection failed, MSI lost (Operation not permitted)
Or the guest could say something about unexpected interrupts, because
clamping leads to aliasing so interrupts were being delivered to
incorrect VCPUs.
KVM_X2APIC_API is the feature that allows us to enable EIM for KVM.
QEMU 2.7 allowed EIM whenever interrupt remapping was enabled. In order
to keep backward compatibility, we again allow guests to misbehave in
non-obvious ways, and make it the default for old machine types.

Current CPU definition for AMD Opteron third generation includes
features like SSE4a and LAHF_LM support in emulated CPUID. These
features are present in K8 rev.E or K10 CPUs and later. However,
current G3 family and model describe 2nd generation K8 cores instead.
This is incorrect but was considered harmless until our tests found a
problem with linux kernels >= 3.10 (and maybe earlier) which specifically
check for Opteron K8 model when parsing CPUID leaf 0x80000001:
http://lxr.free-electrons.com/source/arch/x86/kernel/cpu/amd.c?v=3.16#L552
This code will disable LAHF_LM feature in /proc/cpuinfo if model number
is inconsistent.
This change sets Opteron_G3 family/model/stepping to 16/2/3 which is
a proper Opteron 3rd generation 2350 CPU.

Some software algorithms are based on the hardware's cache info, for example,
for x86 linux kernel, when cpu1 want to wakeup a task on cpu2, cpu1 will trigger
a resched IPI and told cpu2 to do the wakeup if they don't share low level
cache. Oppositely, cpu1 will access cpu2's runqueue directly if they share llc.
The relevant linux-kernel code as bellow:
static void ttwu_queue(struct task_struct *p, int cpu)
{
struct rq *rq = cpu_rq(cpu);
......
if (... && !cpus_share_cache(smp_processor_id(), cpu)) {
......
ttwu_queue_remote(p, cpu); /* will trigger RES IPI */
return;
}
......
ttwu_do_activate(rq, p, 0); /* access target's rq directly */
......
}
In real hardware, the cpus on the same socket share L3 cache, so one won't
trigger a resched IPIs when wakeup a task on others. But QEMU doesn't present a
virtual L3 cache info for VM, then the linux guest will trigger lots of RES IPIs
under some workloads even if the virtual cpus belongs to the same virtual socket.
For KVM, there will be lots of vmexit due to guest send IPIs.
The workload is a SAP HANA's testsuite, we run it one round(about 40 minuates)
and observe the (Suse11sp3)Guest's amounts of RES IPIs which triggering during

Some old Linux kernels (upstream before v4.0), or any released RHEL
kernels has problem in sending APIC EOI when IR is enabled. Meanwhile,
many of them only support explicit EOI for IOAPIC, which is only
introduced in IOAPIC version 0x20. This patch provide a way to boost
QEMU IOAPIC to version 0x20, in order for QEMU to correctly receive EOI
messages.
Without boosting IOAPIC version to 0x20, kernels before commit d32932d
("x86/irq: Convert IOAPIC to use hierarchical irqdomain interfaces")
will have trouble enabling both IR and level-triggered interrupt devices
(like e1000).
To upgrade IOAPIC to version 0x20, we need to specify:
-global ioapic.version=0x20
To be compatible with old systems, 0x11 will still be the default IOAPIC
version. Here 0x11 and 0x20 are the only versions to be supported.
One thing to mention: this patch only applies to emulated IOAPIC. It
does not affect kernel IOAPIC behavior.

receives IR invalidation requests, IOAPIC will be notified to update

In split irqchip mode, IOAPIC is working in user space, only update
kernel irq routes when entry changed. When IR is enabled, we directly
update the kernel with translated messages. It works just like a kernel
cache for the remapping entries.
Since KVM irqfd is using kernel gsi routes to deliver interrupts, as
long as we can support split irqchip, we will support irqfd as
well. Also, since kernel gsi routes will cache translated interrupts,
irqfd delivery will not suffer from any performance impact due to IR.
And, since we supported irqfd, vhost devices will be able to work
seamlessly with IR now. Logically this should contain both vhost-net and
vhost-user case.

PCMachineState.node_cpu was used for mapping APIC ID
to numa node id as CPU entries in SRAT used to be
built on sparse APIC ID bitmap (up to apic_id_limit).
However since commit
5803fce pc: acpi: SRAT: create only valid processor lapic entries
CPU entries in SRAT aren't build using apic bitmap
but using 0..maxcpus index instead which is also used
for creating numa_info[x].node_cpu map.
So instead of doing useless intermediate conversion from
1. node by cpu index -> node by apic id
i.e. numa_info[x].node_cpu -> PCMachineState.node_cpu
2. apic id -> srat entry PMX
PCMachineState.node_cpu[apic id] -> PMX value
use numa_info[x].node_cpu map directly like ARM does and do
1. numa_info[x].node_cpu -> PMX value using index
in range 0..maxcpus
and drop not necessary PCMachineState.node_cpu and related
code.
That also removes the last (not counting legacy hotplug)
dependency of ACPI code on apic_id_limit and need to allocate
huge sparse PCMachineState.node_cpu array in case of 32-bit
APIC IDs.

on x86 currently range 0..max_cpus is used to generate
architecture-dependent CPU ID (APIC Id) for each present
and possible CPUs. However architecture-dependent CPU IDs
list could be sparse and code that needs to enumerate
all IDs (ACPI) ended up doing guess work enumerating all
possible and impossible IDs up to
apic_id_limit = x86_cpu_apic_id_from_index(max_cpus).
That leads to creation of MADT entries and Processor
objects in ACPI tables for not possible CPUs.
Fix it by allowing board specify a concrete list of
CPU IDs accourding its own rules (which for x86 depends
on topology). So that code that needs this list could
request it from board instead of trying to guess
what IDs are correct on its own.
This interface will also allow to help making AML
part of CPU hotplug target independent so it could
be reused for ARM target.

destination machine supports TSC scaling, guest programs will
observe a consistent TSC rate across the migration.
If TSC scaling is not supported on the destination machine, the
migration will not be aborted and QEMU on the destination will
not set vcpu's TSC rate to the migrated value.
If vcpu's TSC rate specified by CPU option 'tsc-freq' on the

NFIT is defined in ACPI 6.0: 5.2.25 NVDIMM Firmware Interface Table (NFIT)
Currently, we only support PMEM mode. Each device has 3 structures:
- SPA structure, defines the PMEM region info
- MEM DEV structure, it has the @handle which is used to associate specified
ACPI NVDIMM device we will introduce in later patch.
Also we can happily ignored the memory device's interleave, the real
nvdimm hardware access is hidden behind host
- DCR structure, it defines vendor ID used to associate specified vendor
nvdimm driver. Since we only implement PMEM mode this time, Command
window and Data window are not needed
The NVDIMM functionality is controlled by the parameter, 'nvdimm', which
is introduced for the machine, there is a example to enable it:
-machine pc,nvdimm -m 8G,maxmem=100G,slots=100 -object \
memory-backend-file,id=mem1,share,mem-path=/tmp/nvdimm1,size=10G -device \
nvdimm,memdev=mem1,id=nv1
It is disabled on default

This patch adds support for split IRQ chip mode. When
KVM_CAP_SPLIT_IRQCHIP is enabled:
1.) The PIC, PIT, and IOAPIC are implemented in userspace while
the LAPIC is implemented by KVM.
2.) The software IOAPIC delivers interrupts to the KVM LAPIC via
kvm_set_irq. Interrupt delivery is configured via the MSI routing
table, for which routes are reserved in target-i386/kvm.c then
configured in hw/intc/ioapic.c
3.) KVM delivers IOAPIC EOIs via a new exit KVM_EXIT_IOAPIC_EOI,

The default CPU model (qemu64) have some issues today: it enables some
features (ABM and SSE4a) that are not present in many host CPUs. That
means many hosts (but not all of them) had those features silently
disabled in the default configuration in QEMU 2.4 and older.
With the new "check=on" default, this causes warnings to be printed in
the default configuration, because of the lack of SSE4A on all Intel
hosts, and the lack of ABM on Sandy Bridge and older hosts:
$ qemu-system-x86_64 -machine pc,accel=kvm

warning: host doesn't support requested feature: CPUID.80000001H:ECX.sse4a [bit 6]
Those issues will be fixed in pc-*-2.5 and newer. But as we can't change
the guest ABI in pc-*-2.4, disable "check" mode by default in pc-*-2.4

Currently IGD drivers always need to access PCH by 1f.0. But we
don't want to poke that directly to get ID, and although in real
world different GPU should have different PCH. But actually the
different PCH DIDs likely map to different PCH SKUs. We do the
same thing for the GPU. For PCH, the different SKUs are going to
be all the same silicon design and implementation, just different
features turn on and off with fuses. The SW interfaces should be
consistent across all SKUs in a given family (eg LPT). But just
same features may not be supported.
Most of these different PCH features probably don't matter to the
Gfx driver, but obviously any difference in display port connections
will so it should be fine with any PCH in case of passthrough.
So currently use one PCH version, 0x8c4e, to cover all HSW(Haswell)
scenarios, 0x9cc3 for BDW(Broadwell).

W10 insider has a bug where it ignores CPUID level and interprets
CPUID.(EAX=07H, ECX=0H) incorrectly, because CPUID in fact returned
CPUID.(EAX=04H, ECX=0H); this resulted in execution of unsupported

While it's a Windows bug, there is no reason to emulate incorrect level.
I used http://instlatx64.atw.hu/ as a source of CPUID and checked that
it matches Penryn Xeon X5472, Westmere Xeon W3520, SandyBridge i5-2540M,

If the signal is sampled high, this indicates that the system is
strapped to the "No Reboot" mode (ICH9 will disable the TCO Timer system
reboot feature). The status of this strap is readable via the NO_REBOOT
bit (CC: offset 0x3410:bit 5).
The NO_REBOOT bit is set when SPKR pin on ICH9 is sampled high. This bit
may be set or cleared by software if the strap is sampled low but may
not override the strap when it indicates "No Reboot".
This patch implements the logic where hardware has ability to set SPKR
pin through a property named "noreboot" and it's sampled high by
default.

This interface provides some registers within a 32-byte range and can be
acessed through PCI-to-LPC bridge interface (PMBASE + 0x60).
It's commonly used as a watchdog timer to detect system lockups through
SMIs that are generated -- if TCO_EN bit is set -- on every timeout. If
NO_REBOOT bit is not set in GCS (General Control and Status register),
the system will be resetted upon second timeout if TCO_RLD register
wasn't previously written to prevent timeout.
This patch adds support to TCO watchdog logic and few other features
like mapping NMIs to SMIs (NMI2SMI_EN bit), system intruder detection,

This PIIX4 init function has no more reason to receive a pointer to the
FwCfg object. Remove the parameter from the prototype, and update callers.
As a result, the pc_init1() function no longer needs to save the return
value of pc_memory_init() and xen_load_linux(), which makes it more
similar to pc_q35_init().
The return type & value of pc_memory_init() and xen_load_linux() are not
changed themselves; maybe we'll need their return values sometime later.

This patch introduces no observable change, but it allows the callers of
pc_basic_device_init(), ie. pc_init1() and pc_q35_init(), to request (or
not request) the creation of the FDC explicitly.
At the moment both callers pass constant create_fdctrl=true (hence no
observable change).
Assuming a board passes create_fdctrl=false, "floppy" will be NULL on
output, and (beyond the FDC not being created) that NULL will be passed on
to pc_cmos_init(). Luckily, pc_cmos_init() already handles that case.
