4034159c1a Revert "hw/virtio: Add support for VDPA network simulation devices"
This reverts commit cd341fd1ff.

The patch adds non-upstream code in
include/standard-headers/linux/virtio_pci.h
which would make maintainance harder.

Revert for now.

8700ee15de hw/cxl: Standardize all references on CXL r3.1 and minor updates
Previously not all references mentioned any spec version at all.
Given r3.1 is the current specification available for evaluation at
www.computeexpresslink.org update references to refer to that.
Hopefully this won't become a never ending job.

A few structure definitions have been updated to add new fields.
Defaults of 0 and read only are valid choices for these new DVSEC
registers so go with that for now.

There are additional error codes and some of the 'questions' in
the comments are resolved now.

Update documentation reference to point to the CXL r3.1 specification
with naming closer to what is on the cover.

For cases where there are structure version numbers, add defines
so they can be found next to the register definitions.

In converting, I have dropped the sections on the device's command

I have also removed the reference to Memnic, because the URL is dead
and a web search suggests that whatever this was it's pretty much
sunk without trace.

6b90a4cdc0 escc: emulate dip switch language layout settings on SUN keyboard
SUN Type 4, 5 and 5c keyboards have dip switches to choose the language layout
of the keyboard. Solaris makes an ioctl to query the value of the dipswitches
and uses that value to select keyboard layout. Also the SUN bios like the one
in the file ss5.bin uses this value to support at least some keyboard layouts.
However, the OpenBIOS provided with qemu is hardcoded to always use an US
keyboard layout.

Before this patch, qemu allways gave dip switch value 0x21 (US keyboard),
this patch uses a command line switch like
"-global escc.chnA-sunkbd-layout=de" to select dip switch value. A table is
used to lookup values from arguments like:

-global escc.chnA-sunkbd-layout=fr
-global escc.chnA-sunkbd-layout=es

But the patch also accepts numeric dip switch values directly:

-global escc.chnA-sunkbd-layout=0x2b
-global escc.chnA-sunkbd-layout=43

Both values above are the same and select swedish keyboard as explained in
table 3-15 at
https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E19683-01/806-6642/new-43/index.html

Unless you want to do a full Solaris installation but happen to have
access to a Sun bios file, the easiest way to test that the patch works
is to:

qemu-system-sparc -global escc.chnA-sunkbd-layout=sv -bios /path/to/ss5.bin

If you already happen to have a Solaris installation in a qemu disk image
file you can easily try different keyboard layouts after this patch is
applied.

adacc814f5 hw/cxl: Multi-Region CXL Type-3 Devices (Volatile and Persistent)
This commit enables each CXL Type-3 device to contain one volatile
memory region and one persistent region.

Two new properties have been added to cxl-type3 device initialization:
    [volatile-memdev] and [persistent-memdev]

The existing [memdev] property has been deprecated and will default the
memory region to a persistent memory region (although a user may assign
the region to a ram or file backed region). It cannot be used in
combination with the new [persistent-memdev] property.

Partitioning volatile memory from persistent memory is not yet supported.

Volatile memory is mapped at DPA(0x0), while Persistent memory is mapped
at DPA(vmem->size), per CXL Spec 8.2.9.8.2.0 - Get Partition Info.

91608e2a44 docs: Convert u2f.txt to rST
Convert the u2f.txt file to rST, and place it in the right place
in our manual layout. The old text didn't fit very well into our
manual style, so the new version ends up looking like a rewrite,
although some of the original text is preserved:

 * the 'building' section of the old file is removed, since we
generally assume that users have already built QEMU
 * some rather verbose text has been cut back
 * document the passthrough device first, on the assumption
that's most likely to be of interest to users
 * cut back on the duplication of text between sections
 * format example command lines etc with rST

As it's a short document it seemed simplest to do this all
in one go rather than try to do a minimal syntactic conversion
and then clean up the wording and layout.

d6359e150d docs: Remove unused weirdly-named cross-reference targets
In the doc sources, we have a few cross-reference targets with odd
names "pcsys_005fxyz". These are the legacy of the semi-automated
conversion of the old info docs to rST (the '005f' is because ASCII
0x5f is '_' and the old info link names had underscores in them).

Remove the targets which nothing links to, and rename the two targets
which are used to something a bit more descriptive.

146b5fa505 hw/nvme: fix example serial in documentation
The serial prop on the controller is actually describing the nvme
subsystem serial, which has to be identical for all controllers within
the same nvme subsystem.

This is enforced since commit a859eb9f8f ("hw/nvme: enforce common
serial per subsystem").

Fix the documentation, so that people copying the qemu command line
example won't get an error on qemu start.

03b39fcf64 hw/cxl: Make the CXL fixed memory window setup a machine parameter.
Paolo Bonzini requested this change to simplify the ongoing
effort to allow machine setup entirely via RPC.

Includes shortening the command line form cxl-fixed-memory-window
to cxl-fmw as the command lines are extremely long even with this
change.

The json change is needed to ensure that there is
a CXLFixedMemoryWindowOptionsList even though the actual
element in the json is never used. Similar to existing
SgxEpcProperties.

Update qemu-options.hx to reflect that this is now a -machine
parameter. The bulk of -M / -machine parameters are documented
under machine, so use that in preference to M.

Update cxl-test and bios-tables-test to reflect new parameters.

aa69abe6e8 docs/cxl: Add initial Compute eXpress Link (CXL) documentation.
Provide an introduction to the main components of a CXL system,
with detailed explanation of memory interleaving, example command
lines and kernel configuration.

This was a challenging document to write due to the need to extract
only that subset of CXL information which is relevant to either
users of QEMU emulation of CXL or to those interested in the
implementation. Much of CXL is concerned with specific elements of
the protocol, management of memory pooling etc which is simply
not relevant to what is currently planned for CXL emulation
in QEMU. All comments welcome
