27c5cee1c3 cuda: rename frequency property to tb_frequency
This allows us to more easily differentiate between the timebase frequency used
to calibrate the MacOS timers and the actual frequency of the hardware clock as
indicated by CUDA_TIMER_FREQ.

2562755ee7 maint: Fix macros with broken 'do/while(0); ' usage
The point of writing a macro embedded in a 'do { ... } while (0)'
loop (particularly if the macro has multiple statements or would
otherwise end with an 'if' statement) is so that the macro can be
used as a drop-in statement with the caller supplying the
trailing ';'.  Although our coding style frowns on brace-less 'if':
  if (cond)
    statement;
  else
    something else;
that is the classic case where failure to use do/while(0) wrapping
would cause the 'else' to pair with any embedded 'if' in the macro
rather than the intended outer 'if'.  But conversely, if the macro
includes an embedded ';', then the same brace-less coding style
would now have two statements, making the 'else' a syntax error
rather than pairing with the outer 'if'.  Thus, even though our
coding style with required braces is not impacted, ending a macro
with ';' makes our code harder to port to projects that use
brace-less styles.

The change should have no semantic impact.  I was not able to
fully compile-test all of the changes (as some of them are
examples of the ugly bit-rotting debug print statements that are
completely elided by default, and I didn't want to recompile
with the necessary -D witnesses - cleaning those up is left as a
bite-sized task for another day); I did, however, audit that for
all files touched, all callers of the changed macros DID supply
a trailing ';' at the callsite, and did not appear to be used
as part of a brace-less conditional.

fd3b02c889 pci: Add INTERFACE_CONVENTIONAL_PCI_DEVICE to Conventional PCI devices
Add INTERFACE_CONVENTIONAL_PCI_DEVICE to all direct subtypes of
TYPE_PCI_DEVICE, except:

1) The ones that already have INTERFACE_PCIE_DEVICE set:

* base-xhci
* e1000e
* nvme
* pvscsi
* vfio-pci
* virtio-pci
* vmxnet3

2) base-pci-bridge

Not all PCI bridges are Conventional PCI devices, so
INTERFACE_CONVENTIONAL_PCI_DEVICE is added only to the subtypes
that are actually Conventional PCI:

* dec-21154-p2p-bridge
* i82801b11-bridge
* pbm-bridge
* pci-bridge

The direct subtypes of base-pci-bridge not touched by this patch
are:

* xilinx-pcie-root: Already marked as PCIe-only.
* pcie-pci-bridge: Already marked as PCIe-only.
* pcie-port: all non-abstract subtypes of pcie-port are already
  marked as PCIe-only devices.

3) megasas-base

Not all megasas devices are Conventional PCI devices, so the
interface names are added to the subclasses registered by
megasas_register_types(), according to information in the
megasas_devices[] array.

"megasas-gen2" already implements INTERFACE_PCIE_DEVICE, so add
INTERFACE_CONVENTIONAL_PCI_DEVICE only to "megasas".

e451b85f1b macio: use object link between MACIO_IDE and MAC_DBDMA object
Using a standard QOM object link we can pass a reference to the MAC_DBDMA
controller to the MACIO_IDE object which removes the last external parameter
to macio_ide_register_dma().

0fc84331d6 macio: pass channel into MACIOIDEState via qdev property
One of the reasons macio_ide_register_dma() needs to exist is because the
channel id isn't passed into the MACIO_IDE object. Pass in the channel id
using a qdev property to remove this requirement.

ecba28dbf2 mac_dbdma: remove DBDMA_init() function
Instead we can now instantiate the MAC_DBDMA object directly within the
macio device. We also add the DBDMA device as a child property so that
it is possible to retrieve later.

2bb4a98f90 mac_dbdma: remove unused IO fields from DBDMAState
These fields were used to manually handle IO requests that weren't aligned
to a sector boundary before this feature was supported by the block API.

Once the block API changed to support byte-aligned IO requests, the macio
controller was switched over to use it in commit be1e343 but these fields
were accidentally left behind. Remove them, including the initialisation
in DBDMA_init().

7745388249 ppc/mac: More rework of the DBDMA emulation
This completely reworks the handling of the control register
according to my understanding of the HW and the spec.

It should (hopefully ... still testing) fix a number of issues
most notably cases of MacOS hanging.

Also update dbdma_unassigned_rw() and dbdma_unassigned_flush() to
have the expected behaviour now that flush is handled slightly
differently.

cf83f14005 shutdown: Add source information to SHUTDOWN and RESET
Time to wire up all the call sites that request a shutdown or
reset to use the enum added in the previous patch.

It would have been less churn to keep the common case with no
arguments as meaning guest-triggered, and only modified the
host-triggered code paths, via a wrapper function, but then we'd
still have to audit that I didn't miss any host-triggered spots;
changing the signature forces us to double-check that I correctly
categorized all callers.

Since command line options can change whether a guest reset request
causes an actual reset vs. a shutdown, it's easy to also add the
information to reset requests.

dd2fa4f72d ppc: Fix macio ESCC legacy mapping
The current mapping, while correct for the base ports (which is all the
driver uses these days), is wrong for the extended registers.

I suspect the bugs come from incorrect tables in the CHRP IO Ref document,
I have verified the new values here match Apple's MacTech.pdf.

Note: Nothing that I know of actually uses these registers so it's not a
huge deal, but this patch has the added advantage of adding comments to
document what the registers are.

3e49c43940 dbdma: add per-channel debugging enabled via DEBUG_DBDMA_CHANMASK
By default large amounts of DBDMA debugging are produced when often it is just
1 or 2 channels that are of interest. Introduce DEBUG_DBDMA_CHANMASK to allow
the developer to select the channels of interest at compile time, and then
further add the extra channel information to each debug statement where
possible.

Also clearly mark the start/end of DBDMA_run_bh to allow tracking the bottom
half execution.

ed3d807b0a cuda: fix off-by-one error in SET_TIME command
With the new framework the cuda_cmd_set_time command directly receive
the data, without the command byte. Therefore the time is stored at
in_data[0], not at in_data[1].

This fixes the "hwclock --systohc" command in a guest.

73bcb24d93 Replaced get_tick_per_sec() by NANOSECONDS_PER_SECOND
This patch replaces get_ticks_per_sec() calls with the macro
NANOSECONDS_PER_SECOND. Also, as there are no callers, get_ticks_per_sec()
is then removed.  This replacement improves the readability and
understandability of code.

For example,

    timer_mod(fdctrl->result_timer,
	      qemu_clock_get_ns(QEMU_CLOCK_VIRTUAL) + (get_ticks_per_sec() / 50));

NANOSECONDS_PER_SECOND makes it obvious that qemu_clock_get_ns
matches the unit of the expression on the right side of the plus.

da34e65cb4 include/qemu/osdep.h: Don't include qapi/error.h
Commit 57cb38b included qapi/error.h into qemu/osdep.h to get the
Error typedef.  Since then, we've moved to include qemu/osdep.h
everywhere.  Its file comment explains: "To avoid getting into
possible circular include dependencies, this file should not include
any other QEMU headers, with the exceptions of config-host.h,
compiler.h, os-posix.h and os-win32.h, all of which are doing a
similar job to this file and are under similar constraints."
qapi/error.h doesn't do a similar job, and it doesn't adhere to
similar constraints: it includes qapi-types.h.  That's in excess of
100KiB of crap most .c files don't actually need.

Add the typedef to qemu/typedefs.h, and include that instead of
qapi/error.h.  Include qapi/error.h in .c files that need it and don't
get it now.  Include qapi-types.h in qom/object.h for uint16List.

Update scripts/clean-includes accordingly.  Update it further to match
reality: replace config.h by config-target.h, add sysemu/os-posix.h,
sysemu/os-win32.h.  Update the list of includes in the qemu/osdep.h
comment quoted above similarly.

This reduces the number of objects depending on qapi/error.h from "all
of them" to less than a third.  Unfortunately, the number depending on
qapi-types.h shrinks only a little.  More work is needed for that one.

dbdma_from_ch() uses channel field to return the right DBDMA object.
Previous code was working if guest OS was only using registered DMA channels.
However, it lead to QEMU crashes if guest OS was using unregistered DMA channels.

81e0ab48dd hw: do not pass NULL to memory_region_init from instance_init
This causes the region to outlive the object, because it attaches the
region to /machine.  This is not nice for the "realize" method, but
much worse for "instance_init" because it can cause dangling pointers

1cde732d88 mac_dbdma: always clear FLUSH bit once DBDMA channel flush is complete
The code to flush the DBDMA channel was effectively duplicated in
dbdma_control_write(), except for the fact that the copy executed outside of a
RUN bit transition was broken by not clearing the FLUSH bit once the flush was
complete.

Newer PPC Linux kernels would timeout waiting for the FLUSH bit to clear again
after submitting a FLUSH command. Fix this by always clearing the FLUSH bit
once the channel flush is complete and removing the repeated code.

5c464f66f5 macio: remove nonexistent interrupt on pin 1
The current macio implementation declares an interrupt that doesn't appear to
exist in the hardware or any other emulator implementation. OpenBIOS detects
this interrupt and generates an 'interrupts' property in the macio device tree
entry. Mac OS 9 halts boot when it detects this interrupt, so it has been
removed to permit further progress in the boot process.

b981289c49 PPC: Cuda: Use cuda timer to expose tbfreq to guest
Mac OS X calibrates a number of frequencies on bootup based on reading
tb values on bootup and comparing them to via cuda timer values.

The only variable we can really steer well (thanks to KVM) is the cuda
frequency. So let's use that one to fake Mac OS X into believing the
bus frequency is tbfreq * 4. That way Mac OS X will automatically
calculate the correct timebase frequency.

With this patch and the patch set I posted earlier I can successfully
run Mac OS X 10.2, 10.3 and 10.4 guests with -M mac99 on TCG and KVM.

3e300fa6ad macio ide: Do remainder access asynchronously
The macio IDE controller has some pretty nasty magic in its implementation to
allow for unaligned sector accesses. We used to handle these accesses
synchronously inside the IO callback handler.

However, the block infrastructure changed below our feet and now it's impossible
to call a synchronous block read/write from the aio callback handler of a
previous block access.

Work around that limitation by making the unaligned handling bits also go
through our asynchronous handler.

This fixes booting Mac OS X for me.

35d08458a9 savevm: Remove all the unneeded version_minimum_id_old (rest)
After previous Peter patch, they are redundant.  This way we don't
assign them except when needed.  Once there, there were lots of case
where the ".fields" indentation was wrong:

     .fields = (VMStateField []) {
and
     .fields =      (VMStateField []) {

Change all the combinations to:

     .fields = (VMStateField[]){

The biggest problem (appart from aesthetics) was that checkpatch complained
when we copy&pasted the code from one place to another.

a0f9fdfd98 PPC: Add timer handler for newworld mac-io
Mac OS X accesses fancy timer registers inside of the mac-io on bootup.

These really should be ticking at the mac-io bus frequency, but I don't
see anyone upset when we just make them as fast as we want to.

With this patch on top of my previous patch queue and latest OpenBIOS
I am able to boot Mac OS X 10.4 with -M mac99.

Soon we will introduce intermediate processing pauses which will
allow the bottom half to restart a DMA request that couldn't be
fulfilled yet.

For that to work, move the processing variable into the io struct
which is what DMA providers work with.

7eaba824b6 PPC: dbdma: Allow new commands in RUN state
The DBDMA controller can not change its command stream while it's
actively streaming data, true. But the fact that it's in RUN state
doesn't actually indicate anything. It could just as well be in
WAIT while in RUN. And then it's legal to change commands.

This fixes a real world issue I've encountered with Mac OS X.

33ce36bb33 PPC: Mac: Add debug prints in macio and dbdma code
The macio code is basically undebuggable as it stands today, with no
debug prints anywhere whatsoever. DBDMA was better, but I needed a
few more to create reasonable logs that tell me where breakage is.

Add a DPRINTF macro in the macio source file and add a bunch of debug
prints that are all disabled by default of course.

0d54a5024f mac-io: Add escc-legacy memory alias region
Mac OS X's debugging serial driver accesses the ESCC through a different
register layout, called "escc-legacy". This layout differs from the normal
escc register layout purely by the location of the respective registers.

This patch adds a memory alias region that takes normal escc registers and
maps them into the escc-legacy register space.

With this patch applied, a Mac OS X guest successfully emits debug output
on the serial port when run with debug parameters set, for example by running:

  $ qemu-system-ppc -prom-env -'boot-args=-v debug=0x8 io=0xff serial=0x3' \
                    -cdrom 10.4.iso -boot d
