28fe81f052 hw/misc/bcm2835_property: Reduce scope of variables in mbox push function
In bcm2835_property_mbox_push(), some variables are defined at function scope
but used only in a smaller scope of the function:
 * tag, bufsize, resplen are used only in the body of the while() loop
 * tmp is used only for RPI_FWREQ_SET_POWER_STATE (and is badly named)

Declare these variables in the scope where they're needed, so the code
is easier to read.

4b648238b8 hw/misc/bcm2835_property: Restrict scope of start_num, number, otp_row
In the long function bcm2835_property_mbox_push(), the variables
start_num, number and otp_row are used only in the four cases which
access OTP data, and their uses don't overlap with each other.

Make these variables have scope restricted to the cases where they're
used, so it's easier to read each individual case without having to
cross-refer up to the variable declaration at the top of the function
and check whether the variable is also used later in the loop.

32f1c201ee hw/misc/bcm2835_property: Avoid overflow in OTP access properties
Coverity points out that in our handling of the property
RPI_FWREQ_SET_CUSTOMER_OTP we have a potential overflow.  This
happens because we read start_num and number from the guest as
unsigned 32 bit integers, but then the variable 'n' we use as a loop
counter as we iterate from start_num to start_num + number is only an
"int".  That means that if the guest passes us a very large start_num
we will interpret it as negative.  This will result in an assertion
failure inside bcm2835_otp_set_row(), which checks that we didn't
pass it an invalid row number.

A similar issue applies to all the properties for accessing OTP rows
where we are iterating through with a start and length read from the
guest.

Use uint32_t for the loop counter to avoid this problem. Because in
all cases 'n' is only used as a loop counter, we can do this as
part of the for(), restricting its scope to exactly where we need it.

0892fffc2a hw/misc/bcm2835_property: Fix handling of FRAMEBUFFER_SET_PALETTE
The documentation of the "Set palette" mailbox property at
https://github.com/raspberrypi/firmware/wiki/Mailbox-property-interface#set-palette
says it has the form:

    Length: 24..1032
    Value:
        u32: offset: first palette index to set (0-255)
        u32: length: number of palette entries to set (1-256)
        u32...: RGBA palette values (offset to offset+length-1)

We get this wrong in a couple of ways:
 * we aren't checking the offset and length are in range, so the guest
   can make us spin for a long time by providing a large length
 * the bounds check on our loop is wrong: we should iterate through
   'length' palette entries, not 'length - offset' entries

Fix the loop to implement the bounds checks and get the loop
condition right. In the process, make the variables local to
this switch case, rather than function-global, so it's clearer
what type they are when reading the code.

5d5f1b6091 hw/misc: Implement mailbox properties for customer OTP and device specific private keys
Four mailbox properties are implemented as follows:
1. Customer OTP: GET_CUSTOMER_OTP and SET_CUSTOMER_OTP
2. Device-specific private key: GET_PRIVATE_KEY and
SET_PRIVATE_KEY.

The customer OTP is located in the rows 36-43. The device-specific private key
is located in the rows 56-63.

The customer OTP can be locked with the magic numbers 0xffffffff 0xaffe0000
when running the SET_CUSTOMER_OTP mailbox command. Bit 6 of row 32 indicates
this lock, which is undocumented. The lock also applies to the device-specific
private key.

cda5a7d640 hw/misc/bcm2835_property: Add missed BCM2835 properties
Our model of the bcm2835 mailbox is missing a few properties
that we need for the raspi4 kernel:
 * RPI_FWREQ_GET_CLOCKS
 * RPI_FWREQ_GET_THROTTLED
 * RPI_FWREQ_VCHIQ_INIT

Add minimal implementations of them.

29ecf2de02 hw/arm: Move raspberrypi-fw-defs.h to the include/hw/arm/ folder
The file is obviously related to the raspberrypi machine, so
it should reside in hw/arm/ instead of hw/misc/. And while we're
at it, also adjust the wildcard in MAINTAINERS so that it covers
this file, too.

f802ff1e28 hw/arm/bcm2835_property: Implement "get command line" message
This query copies the kernel command line into the message buffer. It
was previously stubbed out to return empty, this commit makes it reflect
the arguments specified with `-append`.

I observed the following peculiarities on my Pi 3B+:
- If the buffer is shorter than the string, the response header gives
  the full length, but no data is actually copied.
- No NUL terminator is added: even if the buffer is long enough to fit
  one, the buffer's original contents are preserved past the string's
  end.
- The VC firmware adds the following extra parameters beside the
  user-supplied ones (via /boot/cmdline.txt): `video`, `vc_mem.mem_base`
  and `vc_mem.mem_size`. This is currently not implemented in qemu.

3b9a030e84 hw/arm/bcm2835_property: Add support for RPI_FIRMWARE_FRAMEBUFFER_GET_NUM_DISPLAYS
In more recent Raspbian OS Linux kernels, the fb driver gives up
immediately if RPI_FIRMWARE_FRAMEBUFFER_GET_NUM_DISPLAYS fails or no
displays are reported.

This change simply always reports one display. It makes bcm2835_fb work
again with these more recent kernels.

a27bd6c779 Include hw/qdev-properties.h less
In my "build everything" tree, changing hw/qdev-properties.h triggers
a recompile of some 2700 out of 6600 objects (not counting tests and
objects that don't depend on qemu/osdep.h).

Many places including hw/qdev-properties.h (directly or via hw/qdev.h)
actually need only hw/qdev-core.h.  Include hw/qdev-core.h there
instead.

hw/qdev.h is actually pointless: all it does is include hw/qdev-core.h
and hw/qdev-properties.h, which in turn includes hw/qdev-core.h.
Replace the remaining uses of hw/qdev.h by hw/qdev-properties.h.

While there, delete a few superfluous inclusions of hw/qdev-core.h.

Touching hw/qdev-properties.h now recompiles some 1200 objects.

objects that don't depend on qemu/osdep.h).

hw/hw.h supposedly includes it for convenience.  Several other headers
include it just to get VMStateDescription.  The previous commit made
that unnecessary.

Include migration/vmstate.h only where it's still needed.  Touching it
now recompiles only some 1600 objects.

hw/hw.h supposedly includes it for convenience.  Several other headers
include it just to get qemu_irq and.or qemu_irq_handler.

Move the qemu_irq and qemu_irq_handler typedefs from hw/irq.h to
qemu/typedefs.h, and then include hw/irq.h only where it's still
needed.  Touching it now recompiles only some 500 objects.

f8add62c0c hw/display/bcm2835_fb: Validate config settings
Validate the config settings that the guest tries to set.

The wiki page documentation is not really accurate here:
generally rather than failing requests to set bad parameters,
the hardware will just clip them to something sensible.

Validate the most important parameters: sizes and
the viewport offsets. This prevents the framebuffer
code from trying to read out-of-range memory.

In the property handling code, we validate the new parameters every
time we encounter a tag that sets them. This means we validate the
config multiple times if the request includes multiple config-setting
tags, but the code would require significant restructuring to do a
validation only once but still return the clipped settings for
get-parameter tags and the buffer allocation tag.

Validation of settings made via the older bcm2835_fb_mbox_push()
function will be done in the next commit.

01f18af98b hw/display/bcm2835_fb: Fix handling of virtual framebuffer
The raspi framebuffir in bcm2835_fb supports the definition
of a virtual "viewport", which is smaller than the full
physical framebuffer size and at an adjustable offset within
it. Only the viewport area is sent to the screen. This allows
the guest to do things like double buffering, or scrolling
by adjusting the viewport origin. Currently QEMU doesn't
implement this at all.

Add support for this feature:
 * the property mailbox code needs to distinguish the
   virtual width/height from the physical width/height
 * the framebuffer code needs to do something with the
   virtual width/height/origin information

Note that the wiki documentation on the semantics of the
virtual and physical height and width has it the wrong way
around -- the virtual size is the size of the allocated
buffer, and the physical size is the size of the display,
so the virtual size is always the same as or larger than
the physical.

If the viewport size is set smaller than the physical
screen size, we ignore the viewport settings completely
and just display the physical screen area.

Refactor the fb property setting code so that rather than
using a set of pointers to local variables to track
whether a config value has been updated in the current
mbox and if so what its new value is, we just copy
all the current settings of the fb at the start, and
then update that copy as we go along, before asking
the fb to switch to it at the end.

a02755ece0 hw/misc/bcm2835_fb: Move config fields to their own struct
The handling of framebuffer properties in the bcm2835_property code
is a bit clumsy, because for each of the many fb related properties
we try to track the value we're about to set and whether we're going
to be setting a value, and then we hand all the new values off
to the framebuffer via a function which takes them all as separate
arguments. It would be simpler if the property code could easily
copy all the framebuffer's current settings, update them with
the new specified values and then ask the framebuffer to switch
to the new set.

As the first part of this refactoring, pull all the fb config
settings fields in BCM2835FBState out into their own struct.

27a5dc7be6 bcm2835_property: use cached values when querying framebuffer
As the framebuffer settings are copied into the result message before it is
reconfigured, inconsistent behavior can happen when, for instance, you set with
a single message the width, height, and depth, and ask at the same time to
allocate the buffer and get the pitch and the size.

In this case, the reported pitch and size would be incorrect as they were
computed with the initial values of width, height and depth, not the ones the
client requested.

da34e65cb4 include/qemu/osdep.h: Don't include qapi/error.h
Commit 57cb38b included qapi/error.h into qemu/osdep.h to get the
Error typedef.  Since then, we've moved to include qemu/osdep.h
everywhere.  Its file comment explains: "To avoid getting into
possible circular include dependencies, this file should not include
any other QEMU headers, with the exceptions of config-host.h,
compiler.h, os-posix.h and os-win32.h, all of which are doing a
similar job to this file and are under similar constraints."
qapi/error.h doesn't do a similar job, and it doesn't adhere to
similar constraints: it includes qapi-types.h.  That's in excess of
100KiB of crap most .c files don't actually need.

Add the typedef to qemu/typedefs.h, and include that instead of
qapi/error.h.  Include qapi/error.h in .c files that need it and don't
get it now.  Include qapi-types.h in qom/object.h for uint16List.

Update scripts/clean-includes accordingly.  Update it further to match
reality: replace config.h by config-target.h, add sysemu/os-posix.h,
sysemu/os-win32.h.  Update the list of includes in the qemu/osdep.h
comment quoted above similarly.

This reduces the number of objects depending on qapi/error.h from "all
of them" to less than a third.  Unfortunately, the number depending on
qapi-types.h shrinks only a little.  More work is needed for that one.

355a8ccc5c bcm2835_property: implement framebuffer control/configuration properties
The property channel driver now interfaces with the framebuffer device
to query and set framebuffer parameters. As a result of this, the "get
ARM RAM size" query now correctly returns the video RAM base address
(not total RAM size), and the ram-size property is no longer relevant
here.

eab713941a bcm2835_mbox/property: replace ldl_phys/stl_phys with endian-specific accesses
PMM pointed out that ldl_phys and stl_phys are dependent on the CPU's
endianness, whereas device model code should be independent of
it. This changes the relevant Raspberry Pi devices to explicitly call
the little-endian variants.

f0afa73164 bcm2835_property: implement "get board revision" query
Return a valid value from the BCM2835 property mailbox query "get board
revision". This query is used by U-Boot. Implementing it fixes the first
obvious difference between qemu and real HW.

The value returned is currently hard-coded to match the RPi2 I own. Other
values are legal, e.g. different board manufacturer field values are
likely to exist in the wild.
