95ea96e8b1 hw/arm/virt: KVM: Enable PAuth when supported by the host
Add basic support for Pointer Authentication when running a KVM
guest and that the host supports it, loosely based on the SVE
support.

Although the feature is enabled by default when the host advertises
it, it is possible to disable it by setting the 'pauth=off' CPU
property. The 'pauth' comment is removed from cpu-features.rst,
as it is now common to both TCG and KVM.

Tested on an Apple M1 running 5.16-rc6.

e31c70ac04 target-arm: Add support for Fujitsu A64FX
Add a definition for the Fujitsu A64FX processor.

The A64FX processor does not implement the AArch32 Execution state,
so there are no associated AArch32 Identification registers.

For SVE, the A64FX processor supports only 128,256 and 512bit vector
lengths.

The Identification register values are defined based on the FX700,
and have been tested and confirmed.

022707e5d6 target/arm/cpu64: Validate sve vector lengths are supported
Future CPU types may specify which vector lengths are supported.
We can apply nearly the same logic to validate those lengths
as we do for KVM's supported vector lengths. We merge the code
where we can, but unfortunately can't completely merge it because
KVM requires all vector lengths, power-of-two or not, smaller than
the maximum enabled length to also be enabled. The architecture
only requires all the power-of-two lengths, though, so TCG will
only enforce that.

5401b1e08d target/arm/cpu: Introduce sve_vq_supported bitmap
Allow CPUs that support SVE to specify which SVE vector lengths they
support by setting them in this bitmap. Currently only the 'max' and
'host' CPU types supports SVE and 'host' requires KVM which obtains
its supported bitmap from the host. So, we only need to initialize the
bitmap for 'max' with TCG. And, since 'max' should support all SVE
vector lengths we simply fill the bitmap. Future CPU types may have
less trivial maps though.

Mirror the behavour of /proc/sys/abi/sve_default_vector_length

21c2dd77a6 Revert "target/arm: Make number of counters in PMCR follow the CPU"
This reverts commit f7fb73b8cd.

This change turned out to be a bit half-baked, and doesn't
work with KVM, which fails with the error:
   "qemu-system-aarch64: Failed to retrieve host CPU features"

because KVM does not allow accessing of the PMCR_EL0 value in
the scratch "query CPU ID registers" VM unless we have first
set the KVM_ARM_VCPU_PMU_V3 feature on the VM.

Revert the change for 6.0.

f7fb73b8cd target/arm: Make number of counters in PMCR follow the CPU
Currently we give all the v7-and-up CPUs a PMU with 4 counters. This
means that we don't provide the 6 counters that are required by the
Arm BSA (Base System Architecture) specification if the CPU supports
the Virtualization extensions.

Instead of having a single PMCR_NUM_COUNTERS, make each CPU type
specify the PMCR reset value (obtained from the appropriate TRM), and
use the 'N' field of that value to define the number of counters
provided.

This means that we now supply 6 counters for Cortex-A53, A57, A72,
A15 and A9 as well as '-cpu max'; Cortex-A7 and A8 stay at 4; and
Cortex-R5 goes down to 3.

Note that because we now use the PMCR reset value of the specific
implementation, we no longer set the LC bit out of reset. This has
an UNKNOWN value out of reset for all cores with any AArch32 support,
so guest software should be setting it anyway if it wants it.

7827168471 cpu: tcg_ops: move to tcg-cpu-ops.h, keep a pointer in CPUClass
we cannot in principle make the TCG Operations field definitions
conditional on CONFIG_TCG in code that is included by both common_ss
and specific_ss modules.

Therefore, what we can do safely to restrict the TCG fields to TCG-only
builds, is to move all tcg cpu operations into a separate header file,
which is only included by TCG, target-specific code.

This leaves just a NULL pointer in the cpu.h for the non-TCG builds.

This also tidies up the code in all targets a bit, having all TCG cpu
operations neatly contained by a dedicated data struct.

Not exactly elegant, I'm afraid.

The "when != lbl:" is necessary to avoid transforming

         if (fun(args, &err)) {
             goto out
         }
         ...
     out:
         error_propagate(errp, err);

even though other paths to label out still need the error_propagate().
For an actual example, see sclp_realize().

Without the "when strict", Coccinelle transforms vfio_msix_setup(),
incorrectly. I don't know what exactly "when strict" does, only that
it helps here.

The match of return is narrower than what I want, but I can't figure
out how to express "return where the operand doesn't use @err". For
an example where it's too narrow, see vfio_intx_enable().

Silently fails to convert hw/arm/armsse.c, because Coccinelle gets
confused by ARMSSE being used both as typedef and function-like macro
there.  Converted manually.

Line breaks tidied up manually. One nested declaration of @local_err
deleted manually. Preexisting unwanted blank line dropped in
hw/riscv/sifive_e.c.

This is because in frame #2, cpu->kvm_state is still NULL
(the vCPU is not yet realized).

KVM has a hard requirement of all cores supporting the same
feature set. We only need to check if the accelerator supports
a feature, not each vCPU individually.

Fix by removing the 'CPUState *cpu' argument from the
kvm_arm_<FEATURE>_supported() functions.

d2623129a7 qom: Drop parameter @errp of object_property_add() & friends
The only way object_property_add() can fail is when a property with
the same name already exists. Since our property names are all
hardcoded, failure is a programming error, and the appropriate way to
handle it is passing &error_abort.

Same for its variants, except for object_property_add_child(), which
additionally fails when the child already has a parent. Parentage is
also under program control, so this is a programming error, too.

We have a bit over 500 callers. Almost half of them pass
&error_abort, slightly fewer ignore errors, one test case handles
errors, and the remaining few callers pass them to their own callers.

The previous few commits demonstrated once again that ignoring
programming errors is a bad idea.

Of the few ones that pass on errors, several violate the Error API.
The Error ** argument must be NULL, &error_abort, &error_fatal, or a
pointer to a variable containing NULL. Passing an argument of the
latter kind twice without clearing it in between is wrong: if the
first call sets an error, it no longer points to NULL for the second
call.  ich9_pm_add_properties(), sparc32_ledma_realize(),
sparc32_dma_realize(), xilinx_axidma_realize(), xilinx_enet_realize()
are wrong that way.

When the one appropriate choice of argument is &error_abort, letting
users pick the argument is a bad idea.

Drop parameter @errp and assert the preconditions instead.

There's one exception to "duplicate property name is a programming
error": the way object_property_add() implements the magic (and
undocumented) "automatic arrayification". Don't drop @errp there.
Instead, rename object_property_add() to object_property_try_add(),
and add the obvious wrapper object_property_add().

7eecec7d12 qom: Drop object_property_set_description() parameter @errp
object_property_set_description() and
object_class_property_set_description() fail only when property @name
is not found.

There are 85 calls of object_property_set_description() and
object_class_property_set_description(). None of them can fail:

* 84 immediately follow the creation of the property.

* The one in spapr_rng_instance_init() refers to a property created in
  spapr_rng_class_init(), from spapr_rng_properties[].

Every one of them still gets to decide what to pass for @errp.

51 calls pass &error_abort, 32 calls pass NULL, one receives the error
and propagates it to &error_abort, and one propagates it to
&error_fatal. I'm actually surprised none of them violates the Error
API.

What are we gaining by letting callers handle the "property not found"
error? Use when the property is not known to exist is simpler: you
don't have to guard the call with a check. We haven't found such a
use in 5+ years. Until we do, let's make life a bit simpler and drop
the @errp parameter.

In aarch64_max_initfn() we update both 32-bit and 64-bit ID

ID_AA64DFR0 we accidentally used 'u', meaning that the top 32 bits of

41a4bf1fea target/arm: Implement (trivially) ARMv8.2-TTCNP
The ARMv8.2-TTCNP extension allows an implementation to optimize by
sharing TLB entries between multiple cores, provided that software
declares that it's ready to deal with this by setting a CnP bit in
the TTBRn_ELx. It is mandatory from ARMv8.2 onward.

For QEMU's TLB implementation, sharing TLB entries between different
cores would not really benefit us and would be a lot of work to
implement. So we implement this extension in the "trivial" manner:
we allow the guest to set and read back the CnP bit, but don't change
our behaviour (this is an architecturally valid implementation
choice).

The only code path which looks at the TTBRn_ELx values for the
long-descriptor format where the CnP bit is defined is already doing
enough masking to not get confused when the CnP bit at the bottom of
the register is set, so we can simply add a comment noting why we're
relying on that mask.

f6287c24c6 target/arm: Correctly implement ACTLR2, HACTLR2
The ACTLR2 and HACTLR2 AArch32 system registers didn't exist in ARMv7
or the original ARMv8. They were later added as optional registers,

they are mandatory (ie ID_MMFR4.AC2 must be non-zero).

We implemented HACTLR2 in commit 0e0456ab88, but we
incorrectly made it exist for all v8 CPUs, and we didn't implement
ACTLR2 at all.

Sort this out by implementing both registers only when they are
supposed to exist, and setting the ID_MMFR4 bit for -cpu max.

Note that this removes HACTLR2 from our Cortex-A53, -A47 and -A72

a617953855 target/arm: Define an aa32_pmu_8_1 isar feature test function
Instead of open-coding a check on the ID_DFR0 PerfMon ID register
field, create a standardly-named isar_feature for "does AArch32 have
a v8.1 PMUv3" and use it.

This entails moving the id_dfr0 field into the ARMISARegisters struct.

dc7a88d081 target/arm: Implement ARMv8.1-VMID16 extension
The ARMv8.1-VMID16 extension extends the VMID from 8 bits to 16 bits:

 * the ID_AA64MMFR1_EL1.VMIDBits field specifies whether the VMID is
   8 or 16 bits
 * the VMID field in VTTBR_EL2 is extended to 16 bits
 * VTCR_EL2.VS lets the guest specify whether to use the full 16 bits,
   or use the backwards-compatible 8 bits

For QEMU implementing this is trivial:
 * we do not track VMIDs in TLB entries, so we never use the VMID field
 * we treat any write to VTTBR_EL2, not just a change to the VMID field
   bits, as a "possible VMID change" that causes us to throw away TLB
   entries, so that code doesn't need changing
 * we allow the guest to read/write the VTCR_EL2.VS bit already

So all that's missing is the ID register part: report that we support
VMID16 in our 'max' CPU.
