The ARM_CPU_IRQ/FIQ definitions are used to index the GPIO
IRQ created calling qdev_init_gpio_in() in ARMCPU instance_init()
handler. To allow non-ARM code to raise interrupt on ARM cores,
move they to 'target/arm/cpu-qom.h' which is non-ARM specific and
can be included by any hw/ file.

Now than we can access the M-profile bank index
definitions from the target-agnostic "cpu-qom.h"
header, we don't need the huge "cpu.h" anymore
(except in hw/arm/armv7m.c). Reduce its inclusion
to the source unit.

A SoC will not have a direct access to the NVIC embedded in its ARM
core. By aliasing the "num-prio-bits" property similarly to what is
done for the "num-irq" one, a SoC can easily configure it on its
armv7m instance.

The 'start-powered-off' property has been added to ARM CPUs in
commit 5de164304a ("arm: Allow secondary KVM CPUs to be booted
via PSCI"), then eventually got generalized to all CPUs in commit
c1b701587e ("target/arm: Move start-powered-off property to generic
CPUState"). Since all CPUs have it, no need to check whether it is
available. Updating this property can't fail, so use &error_abort.

The feature test functions isar_feature_*() now take up nearly
a thousand lines in target/arm/cpu.h. This header file is included
by a lot of source files, most of which don't need these functions.

M-profile CPUs generally allow configuration of the number of MPU
regions that they have. We don't currently model this, so our
implementations of some of the board models provide CPUs with the
wrong number of regions. RTOSes like Zephyr that hardcode the
expected number of regions may therefore not run on the model if they
are set up to run on real hardware.
Add properties mpu-ns-regions and mpu-s-regions to the ARMV7M object,
matching the ability of hardware to configure the number of Secure
and NonSecure regions separately. Our actual CPU implementation
doesn't currently support that, and it happens that none of the MPS
boards we model set the number of regions differently for Secure vs
NonSecure, so we provide an interface to the boards and SoCs that
won't need to change if we ever do add that functionality in future,
but make it an error to configure the two properties to different
values.
(The property name on the CPU is the somewhat misnamed-for-M-profile
"pmsav7-dregion", so we don't follow that naming convention for
the properties here. The TRM doesn't say what the CPU configuration
variable names are, so we pick something, and follow the lowercase
convention we already have for properties here.)

Currently armv7m_load_kernel() takes the size of the block of memory
where it should load the initial guest image, but assumes that it
should always load it at address 0. This happens to be true of all
our M-profile boards at the moment, but it isn't guaranteed to always
be so: M-profile CPUs can be configured (via init-svtor and
init-nsvtor, which match equivalent hardware configuration signals)
to have the initial vector table at any address, not just zero. (For
instance the Teeny board has the boot ROM at address 0x0200_0000.)
Add a base address argument to armv7m_load_kernel(), so that
callers now pass in both base address and size. All the current
callers pass 0, so this is not a behaviour change.

Arm system emulation targets always have TARGET_BIG_ENDIAN clear, so
there is no need to have handling in armv7m_load_kernel() for the
case when it is defined. Remove the unnecessary code.
Side notes:
* our M-profile implementation is always little-endian (that is, it
makes the IMPDEF choice that the read-only AIRCR.ENDIANNESS is 0)
* if we did want to handle big-endian ELF files here we should do it
the way that hw/arm/boot.c:arm_load_elf() does, by looking at the
ELF header to see what endianness the file itself is

Various loader functions return an int which limits images to 2GB which
is fine for things like a BIOS/kernel image, but if we want to be able
to load memory images or large ramdisks then any file over 2GB would
silently fail to load.

In the armv7m object, handle clock inputs that aren't connected.
This is always an error for 'cpuclk'. For 'refclk' it is OK for this
to be disconnected, but we need to handle it by not trying to connect
a sourceless-clock to the systick device.
This fixes a bug where on the mps2-an521 and similar boards (which
do not have a refclk) the systick device incorrectly reset with
SYST_CSR.CLKSOURCE 0 ("use refclk") rather than 1 ("use CPU clock").

In commit d5093d9615 we added a VMStateDescription to
the TYPE_ARMV7M object, to handle migration of its Clocks.
However a cut-and-paste error meant we used the wrong struct
name in the VMSTATE_CLOCK() macro arguments. The result was
that attempting a 'savevm' might result in an assertion
failure.

Instead of having the NVIC device provide a single sysbus memory
region covering the whole of the "System PPB" space, which implements
the default behaviour for unimplemented ranges and provides the NS
alias window to the sysregs as well as the main sysreg MR, move this
handling to the container armv7m device. The NVIC now provides a
single memory region which just implements the system registers.
This consolidates all the handling of "map various devices in the
PPB" into the armv7m container where it belongs.

There's no particular reason why the NVIC should be owning the
SysTick device objects; move them into the ARMv7M container object
instead, as part of consolidating the "create the devices which are
built into an M-profile CPU and map them into their architected
locations in the address space" work into one place.
This involves temporarily creating a duplicate copy of the
nvic_sysreg_ns_ops struct and its read/write functions (renamed as
v7m_sysreg_ns_*), but we will delete the NVIC's copy of this code in
a subsequent patch.

Currently we implement the RAS register block within the NVIC device.
It isn't really very tightly coupled with the NVIC proper, so instead
move it out into a sysbus device of its own and have the top level
ARMv7M container create it and map it into memory at the right
address.

Currently we allow board models to specify the initial value of the
Secure VTOR register, using an init-svtor property on the TYPE_ARMV7M
object which is plumbed through to the CPU. Allow board models to
also specify the initial value of the Non-secure VTOR via a similar
init-nsvtor property.

For M-profile CPUs, the range from 0xe0000000 to 0xe00fffff is the
Private Peripheral Bus range, which includes all of the memory mapped
devices and registers that are part of the CPU itself, including the
NVIC, systick timer, and debug and trace components like the Data
Watchpoint and Trace unit (DWT). Within this large region, the range
0xe000e000 to 0xe000efff is the System Control Space (NVIC, system
registers, systick) and 0xe002e000 to 0exe002efff is its Non-secure
alias.
The architecture is clear that within the SCS unimplemented registers
should be RES0 for privileged accesses and generate BusFault for
unprivileged accesses, and we currently implement this.
It is less clear about how to handle accesses to unimplemented
regions of the wider PPB. Unprivileged accesses should definitely
cause BusFaults (R_DQQS), but the behaviour of privileged accesses is
not given as a general rule. However, the register definitions of
individual registers for components like the DWT all state that they
are RES0 if the relevant component is not implemented, so the
simplest way to provide that is to provide RAZ/WI for the whole range
for privileged accesses. (The v7M Arm ARM does say that reserved
registers should be UNK/SBZP.)
Expand the container MemoryRegion that the NVIC exposes so that
it covers the whole PPB space. This means:
* moving the address that the ARMV7M device maps it to down by
0xe000 bytes
* moving the off and the offsets within the container of all the
subregions forward by 0xe000 bytes
* adding a new default MemoryRegion that covers the whole container
at a lower priority than anything else and which provides the
RAZWI/BusFault behaviour

Several callers of load_elf() pass pointers for lowaddr and highaddr
parameters which are then not used for anything. This may stem from a
misunderstanding that load_elf need a value here but in fact it can
take NULL to ignore these values. Remove such unused variables and
pass NULL instead from callers that don't need these.

When debugging QEMU it is often useful to put a breakpoint on the
error_setg_internal method impl.
Unfortunately the object_property_add / object_class_property_add
methods call object_property_find / object_class_property_find methods
to check if a property exists already before adding the new property.
As a result there are a huge number of calls to error_setg_internal
on startup of most QEMU commands, making it very painful to set a
breakpoint on this method.
Most callers of object_find_property and object_class_find_property,
however, pass in a NULL for the Error parameter. This simplifies the
methods to remove the Error parameter entirely, and then adds some
new wrapper methods that are able to raise an Error when needed.

This is the same transformation as in the previous commit, except
sysbus_init_child_obj() and realize are too separated for the commit's
Coccinelle script to handle, typically because sysbus_init_child_obj()
is in a device's instance_init() method, and the matching realize is
in its realize() method.
Perhaps a Coccinelle wizard could make it transform that pattern, but
I'm just a bungler, and the best I can do is transforming the two
separate parts separately:

This script is *unsound*: we need to manually verify init and realize
conversions are properly paired.
This commit has only the pairs where object_initialize_child()'s
@child and sysbus_realize()'s @dev argument text match exactly within
the same source file.

These devices are optional, and enabled by property "enable-bitband".
armv7m_instance_init() creates them unconditionally, because the
property has not been set then. armv7m_realize() realizes them only
when the property is true. Works, although it leaves unrealized
devices hanging around in the QOM composition tree. Affects machines
microbit, mps2-an505, mps2-an521, musca-a, and musca-b1.
Delete the unused devices by making armv7m_realize() unparent them.

The only way object_property_add() can fail is when a property with
the same name already exists. Since our property names are all
hardcoded, failure is a programming error, and the appropriate way to
handle it is passing &error_abort.
Same for its variants, except for object_property_add_child(), which
additionally fails when the child already has a parent. Parentage is
also under program control, so this is a programming error, too.
We have a bit over 500 callers. Almost half of them pass
&error_abort, slightly fewer ignore errors, one test case handles
errors, and the remaining few callers pass them to their own callers.
The previous few commits demonstrated once again that ignoring
programming errors is a bad idea.
Of the few ones that pass on errors, several violate the Error API.
The Error ** argument must be NULL, &error_abort, &error_fatal, or a
pointer to a variable containing NULL. Passing an argument of the
latter kind twice without clearing it in between is wrong: if the
first call sets an error, it no longer points to NULL for the second
call. ich9_pm_add_properties(), sparc32_ledma_realize(),
sparc32_dma_realize(), xilinx_axidma_realize(), xilinx_enet_realize()
are wrong that way.
When the one appropriate choice of argument is &error_abort, letting
users pick the argument is a bad idea.
Drop parameter @errp and assert the preconditions instead.
There's one exception to "duplicate property name is a programming
error": the way object_property_add() implements the magic (and
undocumented) "automatic arrayification". Don't drop @errp there.
Instead, rename object_property_add() to object_property_try_add(),
and add the obvious wrapper object_property_add().

[Two semantic rebase conflicts resolved]
While loading the executable, some platforms (like AVR) need to
detect CPU type that executable is built for - and, with this patch,
this is enabled by reading the field 'e_flags' of the ELF header of
the executable in question. The change expands functionality of
the following functions:
- load_elf()
- load_elf_as()
- load_elf_ram()
- load_elf_ram_sym()
The argument added to these functions is called 'pflags' and is of
type 'uint32_t*' (that matches 'pointer to 'elf_word'', 'elf_word'
being the type of the field 'e_flags', in both 32-bit and 64-bit
variants of ELF header). Callers are allowed to pass NULL as that
argument, and in such case no lookup to the field 'e_flags' will
happen, and no information will be returned, of course.

In my "build everything" tree, changing hw/qdev-properties.h triggers
a recompile of some 2700 out of 6600 objects (not counting tests and
objects that don't depend on qemu/osdep.h).
Many places including hw/qdev-properties.h (directly or via hw/qdev.h)
actually need only hw/qdev-core.h. Include hw/qdev-core.h there
instead.
hw/qdev.h is actually pointless: all it does is include hw/qdev-core.h
and hw/qdev-properties.h, which in turn includes hw/qdev-core.h.
Replace the remaining uses of hw/qdev.h by hw/qdev-properties.h.
While there, delete a few superfluous inclusions of hw/qdev-core.h.
Touching hw/qdev-properties.h now recompiles some 1200 objects.

The main culprit is hw/hw.h, which supposedly includes it for
convenience.
Include sysemu/reset.h only where it's needed. Touching it now

The header file hw/arm/arm.h now includes only declarations
relating to hw/arm/boot.c functionality. Rename it accordingly,
and adjust its header comment.
The bulk of this commit was created via
perl -pi -e 's|hw/arm/arm.h|hw/arm/boot.h|' hw/arm/*.c include/hw/arm/*.h
In a few cases we can just delete the #include:
hw/arm/msf2-soc.c, include/hw/arm/aspeed_soc.h and
include/hw/arm/bcm2836.h did not require it.

This patch adds an optional function pointer, 'elf_note_fn', to
load_elf() which causes load_elf() to additionally parse any
ELF program headers of type PT_NOTE and check to see if the ELF
Note is of the type specified by the 'translate_opaque' arg.
If a matching ELF Note is found then the specfied function pointer
is called to process the ELF note.
Passing a NULL function pointer results in ELF Notes being skipped.
The first consumer of this functionality is the PVHboot support
which needs to read the XEN_ELFNOTE_PHYS32_ENTRY ELF Note while
loading the uncompressed kernel binary in order to discover the
boot entry address for the x86/HVM direct boot ABI.

Expose "start-powered-off" as a property of the ARMv7M container,
which we just pass through to the CPU object in the same way that we
do for "init-svtor" and "idau". (We want this for the SSE-200, which
powers up only the first CPU at reset and leaves the second powered
down.)
As with the other CPU properties here, we can't just use alias
properties, because the CPU QOM object is not created until armv7m
realize time.

Rather than just creating the CPUs with object_new, make them child
objects of the armv7m container. This will allow the cluster code to
find the CPUs if an armv7m object is made a child of a cluster object.
object_new_with_props() will do the parenting for us.

Currently the ARMv7M NVIC object's realize method assumes that the
CPU the NVIC is attached to is CPU 0, because it thinks there can
only ever be one CPU in the system. To allow a dual-Cortex-M33
setup we need to remove this assumption; instead the armv7m
wrapper object tells the NVIC its CPU, in the same way that it
already tells the CPU what the NVIC is.

The generic loader device (-device loader,file=kernel.bin) can be used
to load a kernel instead of the -kernel option. Some boards have flash
memory (pflash) that is set via the -pflash or -drive options.
Allow starting QEMU without the -kernel option to accommodate these
scenarios.

On real v7M hardware, the NMI line is an externally visible signal
that an SoC or board can toggle to assert an NMI. Expose it in
our QEMU NVIC and armv7m container objects so that a board model
can wire it up if it needs to.
In particular, the MPS2 watchdog is wired to NMI.

Some ARM CPUs have bitbanded IO, a memory region that allows convenient
bit access via 32-bit memory loads/stores. This eliminates the need for
read-modify-update instruction sequences.
This patch makes this optional feature an ARMv7MState qdev property,
allowing boards to choose whether they want bitbanding or not.
Status of boards:
* iotkit (Cortex M33), no bitband
* mps2 (Cortex M3), bitband
* msf2 (Cortex M3), bitband
* stellaris (Cortex M3), bitband
* stm32f205 (Cortex M3), bitband
As a side-effect of this patch, Peter Maydell noted that the Ethernet
controller on mps2 board is now accessible. Previously they were hidden
by the bitband region (which does not exist on the real board).
