1f442da51e tests/tcg/multiarch: fix 32bit linux-test on 64bit host
Fix:

  TEST    linux-test on i386
  .../tests/tcg/multiarch/linux-test.c:201: readdir

readdir() calls getdents64() to have the list of the entries in a
directory, and getdents64() can return 64bit d_off values (with ext4,
for instance) that will not fit in the 32bit d_off field of the
readdir() dirent structure.

To avoid that, use readdir64() to use a 64bit d_off field too.

3cea09271b target/s390x: fix PACK reading 1 byte less and writing 1 byte more
PACK fails on the test from the Principles of Operation: F1F2F3F4
becomes 0000234C instead of 0001234C due to an off-by-one error.
Furthermore, it overwrites one extra byte to the left of F1.

If len_dest is 0, then we only want to flip the 1st byte and never loop
over the rest. Therefore, the loop condition should be > and not >=.

If len_src is 1, then we should flip the 1st byte and pack the 2nd.
Since len_src is already decremented before the loop, the first
condition should be >=, and not >.

Likewise for len_src == 2 and the second condition.

478d360cd9 target/s390x: fix IPM polluting irrelevant bits
Suppose psw.mask=0x0000000080000000, cc=2, r1=0 and we do "ipm 1".
This command must touch only bits 32-39, so the expected output
is r1=0x20000000. However, currently qemu yields r1=0x20008000,
because irrelevant parts of PSW leak into r1 during program mask
transfer.

dc95b31dac target/s390x: fix CSST decoding and runtime alignment check
CSST is defined as:

    C(0xc802, CSST,    SSF,   CASS, la1, a2, 0, 0, csst, 0)

It means that the first parameter is handled by in1_la1().
in1_la1() fills addr1 field, and not in1.

Furthermore, when extract32() is used for the alignment check, the
third parameter should specify the number of trailing bits that must
be 0. For FC these numbers are:

    FC=0 (word, 4 bytes):        2
    FC=1 (double word, 8 bytes): 3
    FC=2 (quad word, 16 bytes):  4

For SC these numbers correspond to the size:

    SC=0: 0
    SC=1: 1
    SC=2: 2
    SC=3: 3
    SC=4: 4

1a7fab926b tests: add top-level make dependency for docker builds
One problem with satisfying your docker dependencies in a sub-make it
you might end up trying to satisfy the dependency multiple times. This
is especially a problem with debian-sid based cross compilers and CI
setups. We solve this by doing a docker build pass at the top level
before any sub-makes are called.

We still need to satisfy dependencies in the Makefile.target call so
people can run tests from individual target directories. We introduce
a new Makefile.probe which gets called for each PROBE_TARGET and
allows us to build up the list. It does require multiply including
config-target.mak which shouldn't cause any issues as it shouldn't
define anything that clashes with config-host.mak. However we undefine
a few key variables each time around.

7e97017e7d tests/tcg/Makefile: update to be called from Makefile.target
This make is now invoked from each individual target make with the
appropriate CC and EXTRA_CFLAGS set for each guest. It then includes
additional Makefile.targets from:

  - tests/tcg/multiarch (always)
  - tests/tcg/$(TARGET_BASE_ARCH) (if available)
  - tests/tcg/$(TARGET_NAME)

The order is important as the later Makefile's may want to suppress
TESTS from its base arch profile. Each included Makefile.target is
responsible for adding TESTS as well as defining any special build
instructions for individual tests.

d0ce7e9cfc target/xtensa: fix timers test
The value of CCOUNT special register is calculated as time elapsed
since CCOUNT == 0 multiplied by the core frequency. In icount mode time
increment between consecutive instructions that don't involve time
warps is constant, but unless the result of multiplication of this
constant by the core frequency is a whole number the CCOUNT increment
between these instructions may not be constant. E.g. with icount=7 each
instruction takes 128ns, with core clock of 10MHz CCOUNT values for
consecutive instructions are:

  502: (128 * 502 * 10000000) / 1000000000 = 642.56
  503: (128 * 503 * 10000000) / 1000000000 = 643.84
  504: (128 * 504 * 10000000) / 1000000000 = 645.12

I.e.the CCOUNT increments depend on the absolute time. This results in
varying CCOUNT differences for consecutive instructions in tests that
involve time warps and don't set CCOUNT explicitly.

Change frequency of the core used in tests so that clock cycle takes
exactly 64ns. Change icount power used in tests to 6, so that each
instruction takes exactly 1 clock cycle. With these changes CCOUNT
increments only depend on the number of executed instructions and that's
what timer tests expect, so they work correctly.

2562755ee7 maint: Fix macros with broken 'do/while(0); ' usage
The point of writing a macro embedded in a 'do { ... } while (0)'
loop (particularly if the macro has multiple statements or would
otherwise end with an 'if' statement) is so that the macro can be
used as a drop-in statement with the caller supplying the
trailing ';'. Although our coding style frowns on brace-less 'if':
  if (cond)
    statement;
  else
    something else;
that is the classic case where failure to use do/while(0) wrapping
would cause the 'else' to pair with any embedded 'if' in the macro
rather than the intended outer 'if'. But conversely, if the macro
includes an embedded ';', then the same brace-less coding style
would now have two statements, making the 'else' a syntax error
rather than pairing with the outer 'if'. Thus, even though our
coding style with required braces is not impacted, ending a macro
with ';' makes our code harder to port to projects that use
brace-less styles.

The change should have no semantic impact. I was not able to
fully compile-test all of the changes (as some of them are
examples of the ugly bit-rotting debug print statements that are
completely elided by default, and I didn't want to recompile
with the necessary -D witnesses - cleaning those up is left as a
bite-sized task for another day); I did, however, audit that for
all files touched, all callers of the changed macros DID supply
a trailing ';' at the callsite, and did not appear to be used
as part of a brace-less conditional.

Found mechanically via: $ git grep -B1 'while (0);' | grep -A1 \\\\

b43671f80c tests: Avoid non-portable 'echo -ARG'
POSIX says that backslashes in the arguments to 'echo', as well as
any use of 'echo -n' and 'echo -e', are non-portable; it recommends
people should favor 'printf' instead. This is definitely true where
we do not control which shell is running (such as in makefile snippets
or in documentation examples). But even for scripts where we
require bash (and therefore, where echo does what we want by default),
it is still possible to use 'shopt -s xpg_echo' to change bash's
behavior of echo. And setting a good example never hurts when we are
not sure if a snippet will be copied from a bash-only script to a
general shell script (although I don't change the use of non-portable
\e for ESC when we know the running shell is bash).

Replace 'echo -n "..."' with 'printf %s "..."', and 'echo -e "..."'
with 'printf %b "...\n"', with the optimization that the %s/%b
argument can be omitted if the string being printed is a strict
literal with no '%', '$', or '`' (we could technically also make
this optimization when there are $ or `` substitutions but where
we can prove their results will not be problematic, but proving
that such substitutions are safe makes the patch less trivial
compared to just being consistent).

In the qemu-iotests check script, fix unusual shell quoting
that would result in word-splitting if 'date' outputs a space.

In test 051, take an opportunity to shorten the line.

In test 068, get rid of a pointless second invocation of bash.

fcf5ef2ab5 Move target-* CPU file into a target/ folder
We've currently got 18 architectures in QEMU, and thus 18 target-xxx
folders in the root folder of the QEMU source tree. More architectures
(e.g. RISC-V, AVR) are likely to be included soon, too, so the main
folder of the QEMU sources slowly gets quite overcrowded with the
target-xxx folders.
To disburden the main folder a little bit, let's move the target-xxx
folders into a dedicated target/ folder, so that target-xxx/ simply
becomes target/xxx/ instead.

Tracked down with an ugly, brittle and probably buggy Perl script.

Also move includes converted to <...> up so they get included before
ours where that's obviously okay.

20303e42d4 target-xtensa: tests: pre-process tests linker script
Xtensa cores have configurable interrupt vectors and endiannes. This
information is needed to link executable images correctly for a specific
core configuration. Instead of hard-coding dc232 defaults pull endianness,
number of high-priority interrupts and location of vectors from the core
configuration and pass it through the C preprocessor.

While at it clean up tabs and align the initial stack on 16 bytes.

ad0a118fa3 tests/tcg: Fix compilation of test_path
The test_path binary is (unlike the other test binaries in tests/tcg)
actually intended to be compiled with the same compiler used to build
the main QEMU executables. It actually #includes a number of the
QEMU source files in an attempt to unit-test the util/path.c functions,
and so if it is not compiled with the same compiler used by configure
to set CONFIG_ settings then it is liable to fail to build.
Fix the makefile to build it with the default C compiler rules, not
CC_I386, and fix the test itself not to include a lot of unnecessary
trace related source files which cause the build to fail if the trace
backend is anything other than 'simple'.

6d4adef48d tests: Fix 'make test' for i686 hosts (build regression)
'make test' is broken at least since commit
baacf04799. Several source files were moved
to util/, and some of them there split, so add the missing prefix and new
files to fix the compiler and linker errors.

There remain more issues, but these changes allow running the test on a
Linux i686 host.
