Recently we moved a few options from QemuOptsLists in blockdev.c to
bdrv_runtime_opts in block.c in order to make them accissble using
blockdev-add. However, this has the side effect that these options are
missing from query-command-line-options now, and libvirt consequently
disables the corresponding feature.
This problem was reported as a regression for the 'discard' option,
introduced in commit 818584a4. However, it is more general than that.
Fix it by adding bdrv_runtime_opts to the list of QemuOptsLists that are
returned in query-command-line-options. For the future, libvirt is
advised to use QMP schema introspection for block device options.

Update all qemu_uuid users as well, especially get rid of the duplicated
low level g_strdup_printf, sscanf and snprintf calls with QEMU UUID API.
Since qemu_uuid_parse is quite tangled with qemu_uuid, its switching to
QemuUUID is done here too to keep everything in sync and avoid code
churn.

A number of different places across the code base use CONFIG_UUID. Some
of them are soft dependency, some are not built if libuuid is not
available, some come with dummy fallback, some throws runtime error.
It is hard to maintain, and hard to reason for users.
Since UUID is a simple standard with only a small number of operations,
it is cleaner to have a central support in libqemuutil. This patch adds
qemu_uuid_* functions that all uuid users in the code base can
rely on. Except for qemu_uuid_generate which is new code, all other
functions are just copy from existing fallbacks from other files.
Note that qemu_uuid_parse is moved without updating the function
signature to use QemuUUID, to keep this patch simple.

Instead of reusing DT_SDL for Cocoa, use DT_COCOA to indicate

configure already ensures CONFIG_COCOA and CONFIG_SDL are never
set at the same time. The only case where DT_SDL is used outside
a #ifdef CONFIG_SDL block is in the no_frame/alt_grab/ctrl_grab

start printing a warning if the SDL-specific options are used in
Cocoa mode. This is a bugfix, because no_frame/alt_grab/ctrl_grab

All QMP commands use the "new" handler interface (mhandler.cmd_new).
Most HMP commands still use the traditional interface (mhandler.cmd),
but a few use the "new" one. Complicates handle_user_command() for no
gain, so I'm converting these to the traditional interface.
pcie_aer_inject_error's implementation is split into the
hmp_pcie_aer_inject_error() and pcie_aer_inject_error_print(). The
former is a peculiar crossbreed between HMP and QMP handler. On
success, it works like a QMP handler: store QDict through ret_data
parameter, return 0. Printing the QDict is left to
pcie_aer_inject_error_print(). On failure, it works more like an HMP
handler: print error to monitor, return negative number.
To convert to the traditional interface, turn
pcie_aer_inject_error_print() into a command handler wrapping around
hmp_pcie_aer_inject_error(). By convention, this command handler
should be called hmp_pcie_aer_inject_error(), so rename the existing
hmp_pcie_aer_inject_error() to do_pcie_aer_inject_error().

Together with the new call to qemu_vmstop_requested in vm_start,
qemu_system_vmstop_request_prepare avoids a race where the VM could remain
stopped even though the iostatus of a block device has already been set
(for example).
qemu_system_vmstop_request_prepare however also lets the caller thread
delay observation of the state change until it has itself communicated
that change to the user. This delay avoids any possibility of a wrong
reordering of the BLOCK_IO_ERROR event and the subsequent STOP event.

As suffixes do not make sense for sPAPR's device tree and
there is no way to filter them out on the BusState::get_fw_dev_path()
level, let's add an ability for the external caller to specify
whether to apply suffixes or not.
We could handle suffixes in SLOF (ignored for now) but this would require
serious rework in the node opening code in SLOF, which has no obvious
benefit for the currently emulated sPAPR machine.

Since proprietary FCode ROMs use a resolution of 1152x900, slightly relax the

Currently, -smbios type=T,NAME=VAL,... adds one field (T,NAME) with
value VAL to fw_cfg for each unique NAME. If NAME occurs multiple
times, the last one's VAL is used (before the QemuOpts conversion, the
first one was used).
Multiple -smbios can add multiple fields with the same (T, NAME).
SeaBIOS reads all of them from fw_cfg, but uses only the first field
(T, NAME). The others are ignored.
"First one wins, subsequent ones get ignored silently" isn't nice. We
commonly let the last option win. Useful, because it lets you
-readconfig first, then selectively override with command line
options.
Clean up -smbios to work the common way. Accumulate the settings,
with later ones overwriting earlier ones. Put the result into fw_cfg
(no more useless duplicates).
Bonus cleanup: qemu_uuid_parse() no longer sets SMBIOS system uuid by
side effect.

Currently Xen hvm s3 has a bug coming from the difference between
qemu-traditioanl and qemu-xen. For qemu-traditional, the way to
resume from hvm s3 is via 'xl trigger' command. However, for
qemu-xen, the way to resume from hvm s3 inherited from standard
qemu, i.e. via QMP, and it doesn't work under Xen.
The root cause is, for qemu-xen, 'xl trigger' command didn't reset
devices, while QMP didn't unpause hvm domain though they did qemu
system reset.
We have two qemu patches and one xl patch to fix Xen hvm s3 bug.
This patch is the qemu patch 1. It adjusts qemu wakeup so that
Xen s3 resume logic (which will be implemented at qemu patch 2)
will be notified after qemu system reset.

The generic one is activated in case spice is used without qxl. The
logic for that only caught the "-vga qxl" case, "-device qxl-vga" goes
unnoticed. Fix that by adding a check in the spice interface

hidden which provides a UI that looks very similar to SDL with the exception of
the menu bar.
The menu bar allows a user to toggle the visibility of the tabs. Cairo is used
for rendering.
I used gtk-vnc as a reference. gtk-vnc solves the same basic problems as QEMU
since it was originally written as a remote display for QEMU. So for the most
part, the approach to rendering and keyboard handling should be pretty solid for

read_splashfile() passes the address of an int variable as size_t *
parameter to g_file_get_contents(), with a cast to gag the compiler.
No problem on machines where sizeof(size_t) == sizeof(int).
Happens to work on my x86_64 box (64 bit little endian): the least
significant 32 bits of the file size end up in the right place
(caller's variable file_size), and the most significant 32 bits
clobber a place that gets assigned to before its next use (caller's
variable file_type).
I'd expect it to break on a 64 bit big-endian box.
Fix up the variable types and drop the problematic cast.

Code just now does (simplified for clarity)
if (qemu_savevm_state_iterate(s->file) == 1) {
vm_stop_force_state(RUN_STATE_FINISH_MIGRATE);
qemu_savevm_state_complete(s->file);
}
Problem here is that qemu_savevm_state_iterate() returns 1 when it
knows that remaining memory to sent takes less than max downtime.
But this means that we could end spending 2x max_downtime, one
downtime in qemu_savevm_iterate, and the other in
qemu_savevm_state_complete.
Changed code to:
pending_size = qemu_savevm_state_pending(s->file, max_size);
DPRINTF("pending size %lu max %lu\n", pending_size, max_size);
if (pending_size >= max_size) {
ret = qemu_savevm_state_iterate(s->file);
} else {
vm_stop_force_state(RUN_STATE_FINISH_MIGRATE);
qemu_savevm_state_complete(s->file);
}
So what we do is: at current network speed, we calculate the maximum
number of bytes we can sent: max_size.
Then we ask every save_live section how much they have pending. If
they are less than max_size, we move to complete phase, otherwise we
do an iterate one.
This makes things much simpler, because now individual sections don't
have to caluclate the bandwidth (it was implossible to do right from
there).
