1a7a31aec4 spapr: Migrate ail-mode-3 spapr cap
This cap did not add the migration code when it was introduced. This
results in migration failure when changing the default using the
command line.

f8df577286 hw/ppc: remove obsolete manual deprecation reason string of spapr machines
The automatic deprecation mechanism introduced in the preceeding patches
will mark every spapr machine upto and including 2.12 as deprecated. As
such we can revert the manually added deprecation which was a subset:

a391eeb129 hw: skip registration of outdated versioned machine types
This calls the MACHINE_VER_DELETION() macro in the machine type
registration method, so that when a versioned machine type reaches
the end of its life, it is no longer registered with QOM and thus
cannot be used.

The actual definition of the machine type should be deleted at
this point, but experience shows that can easily be forgotten.
By skipping registration the manual code deletion task can be
done at any later date.

8d3122a806 hw: set deprecation info for all versioned machine types
This calls the MACHINE_VER_DEPRECATION() macro in the definition of
all machine type classes which support versioning. This ensures
that they will automatically get deprecation info set when they
reach the appropriate point in their lifecycle.

8d40cc1483 hw/ppc: convert 'spapr' machine definitions to use new macros
This changes the DEFINE_SPAPR_MACHINE macro to use the common
helpers for constructing versioned symbol names and strings,
bringing greater consistency across targets.

The added benefit is that it avoids the need to repeat the
version number twice in two different formats in the calls
to DEFINE_SPAPR_MACHINE.

A DEFINE_SPAPR_MACHINE_AS_LATEST helper is added so that it
is not required to pass 'false' for every single historical
machine type.

Due to the odd-ball '2.12-sxxm' machine type version, this
commit introduces a DEFINE_SPAPR_MACHINE_TAGGED helper to
allow defining of "tagged" machine types which have a string
suffix.

95912ce1eb ppc/spapr: Add ibm,pi-features
The ibm,pi-features property has a bit to say whether or not
msgsndp should be used. Linux checks if it is being run under
KVM and avoids msgsndp anyway, but it would be preferable to
rely on this bit.

01c3ac681b migration: Add Error** argument to .save_setup() handler
The purpose is to record a potential error in the migration stream if
qemu_savevm_state_setup() fails. Most of the current .save_setup()
handlers can be modified to use the Error argument instead of managing
their own and calling locally error_report().

00a238b1a8 ppc/pef: switch to use confidential_guest_kvm_init/reset()
Use the unified interface to call confidential guest related kvm_init()
and kvm_reset(), to avoid exposing pef specific functions.

As a bonus, pef.h goes away since there is no direct call from sPAPR
board code to PEF code anymore.

API for nested guests. This new API is to enable support for KVM on PowerVM

21a8d22f58 spapr: nested: keep nested-hv related code restricted to its API.
spapr_exit_nested and spapr_get_pate_nested_hv contains code which
is specific to nested-hv API. Isolating code flows based on API
helps extending it to be used with different API as well.

c2813a3570 spapr: nested: move nested part of spapr_get_pate into spapr_nested.c
Most of the nested code has already been moved to spapr_nested.c
This logic inside spapr_get_pate is related to nested guests and
better suited for spapr_nested.c, hence moving there.

6026fdbdbd spapr: nested: register nested-hv api hcalls only for cap-nested-hv
Since cap-nested-hv is an optional capability, it makes sense to register
api specfic hcalls only when respective capability is enabled. This
requires to introduce a new API to unregister hypercalls to maintain
sanity across guest reboot since caps are re-applied across reboots and
re-registeration of hypercalls would hit assert otherwise.

d83d350cb2 ppc/spapr: Add pa-features for POWER10 machines
Add POWER10 pa-features entry.

Notably DEXCR and [P]HASHST/[P]HASHCHK instruction support is
advertised. Each DEXCR aspect is allocated a bit in the device tree,
using the 68--71 byte range (inclusive). The functionality of the
[P]HASHST/[P]HASHCHK instructions is separately declared in byte 72,
bit 0 (BE).

a5a5778622 ppc/spapr|pnv: Remove SAO from pa-features
SAO is a page table attribute that strengthens the memory ordering of
accesses. QEMU with MTTCG does not implement this, so clear it in
ibm,pa-features. This is an obscure feature that has been removed from
POWER10 ISA v3.1, there isn't much concern with removing it.

ae1011d430 hw/ppc/pseries: do not require CONFIG_USB
With --without-default-devices it is possible to build a binary that
does not include any USB host controller and therefore that does not
include the code guarded by CONFIG_USB.  While the simpler creation
functions such as usb_create_simple can be inlined, this is not true
of usb_bus_find().  Remove it, replacing it with a search of the single
USB bus on the machine.

1392617d35 spapr: Tag pseries-2.1 - 2.11 machines as deprecated
pseries machines before version 2.11 have undergone many changes to
correct issues, mostly regarding migration compatibility. This is
obfuscating the code uselessly and makes maintenance more difficult.
Remove them and only keep the last version of the 2.x series, 2.12,
still in use by old distros.

c4f91d7b7b ppc/spapr: Initialize max_cpus limit to SPAPR_IRQ_NR_IPIS.
Initialize the machine specific max_cpus limit as per the maximum range
of CPU IPIs available. Keeping between 4096 to 8192 will throw IRQ not
free error due to XIVE/XICS limitation and keeping beyond 8192 will hit
assert in tcg_region_init or spapr_xive_claim_irq.

195801d700 system/cpus: rename qemu_mutex_lock_iothread() to bql_lock()
The Big QEMU Lock (BQL) has many names and they are confusing. The
actual QemuMutex variable is called qemu_global_mutex but it's commonly
referred to as the BQL in discussions and some code comments. The
locking APIs, however, are called qemu_mutex_lock_iothread() and
qemu_mutex_unlock_iothread().

The "iothread" name is historic and comes from when the main thread was
split into into KVM vcpu threads and the "iothread" (now called the main
loop thread). I have contributed to the confusion myself by introducing
a separate --object iothread, a separate concept unrelated to the BQL.

The "iothread" name is no longer appropriate for the BQL. Rename the
locking APIs to:
- void bql_lock(void)
- void bql_unlock(void)
- bool bql_locked(void)

There are more APIs with "iothread" in their names. Subsequent patches
will rename them. There are also comments and documentation that will be
updated in later patches.

485fb95546 migration: Hack to maintain backwards compatibility for ppc
Current code does:
- register pre_2_10_vmstate_dummy_icp with "icp/server" and instance
  dependinfg on cpu number
- for newer machines, it register vmstate_icp with "icp/server" name
  and instance 0
- now it unregisters "icp/server" for the 1st instance.

This is wrong at many levels:
- we shouldn't have two VMSTATEDescriptions with the same name
- In case this is the only solution that we can came with, it needs to
  be:
  * register pre_2_10_vmstate_dummy_icp
  * unregister pre_2_10_vmstate_dummy_icp
  * register real vmstate_icp

Created vmstate_replace_hack_for_ppc() with warnings left and right
that it is a hack.

c8a7fc5179 migration: simplify blockers
Modify migrate_add_blocker and migrate_del_blocker to take an Error **
reason.  This allows migration to own the Error object, so that if
an error occurs in migrate_add_blocker, migration code can free the Error
and clear the client handle, simplifying client code.  It also simplifies
the migrate_del_blocker call site.

In addition, this is a pre-requisite for a proposed future patch that would
add a mode argument to migration requests to support live update, and
maintain a list of blockers for each mode.  A blocker may apply to a single
mode or to multiple modes, and passing Error** will allow one Error object
to be registered for multiple modes.

No functional change.

NVLink2 support was removed from the PPC PowerNV platform and VFIO in
Linux 5.13 with commits :

  562d1e207d32 ("powerpc/powernv: remove the nvlink support")
  b392a1989170 ("vfio/pci: remove vfio_pci_nvlink2")

This was 2.5 years ago. Do the same in QEMU with a revert of commit
ec132efaa8 ("spapr: Support NVIDIA V100 GPU with NVLink2"). Some
adjustements are required on the NUMA part.

b27fcb288b spapr: Fix record-replay machine reset consuming too many events
spapr_machine_reset gets a random number to populate the device-tree
rng seed with. When loading a snapshot for record-replay, the machine
is reset again, and that tries to consume the random event record
again, crashing due to inconsistent record

Fix this by saving the seed to populate the device tree with, and
skipping the rng on snapshot load.

bc3e41a0e8 accel/kvm: Use negative KVM type for error propagation
On MIPS, kvm_arch_get_default_type() returns a negative value when an
error occurred so handle the case. Also, let other machines return
negative values when errors occur and declare returning a negative
value as the correct way to propagate an error that happened when
determining KVM type.

c0ce7b4acb hw/ppc/spapr: Use machine_memory_devices_init()
Let's use our new helper and stop always allocating ms->device_memory.
There is no difference in common memory-device code anymore between
ms->device_memory being NULL or the size being 0. So we only have to
teach spapr code that ms->device_memory isn't always around.

We can now modify two maxram_size checks to rely on ms->device_memory
for detecting whether we have memory devices.
