62d776002c hw/arm/virt: Set virtio-iommu aw-bits default value to 48
On ARM we set 48b as a default (matching SMMUv3 SMMU_IDR5.VAX == 0).

hw_compat_8_2 is used to handle the compatibility for machine types
before 9.0 (default was 64 bits).

0a5b5acdf2 hw/acpi: Implement the SRAT GI affinity structure
ACPI spec provides a scheme to associate "Generic Initiators" [1]
(e.g. heterogeneous processors and accelerators, GPUs, and I/O devices with
integrated compute or DMA engines GPUs) with Proximity Domains. This is
achieved using Generic Initiator Affinity Structure in SRAT. During bootup,
Linux kernel parse the ACPI SRAT to determine the PXM ids and create a NUMA
node for each unique PXM ID encountered. Qemu currently do not implement
these structures while building SRAT.

Add GI structures while building VM ACPI SRAT. The association between
device and node are stored using acpi-generic-initiator object. Lookup
presence of all such objects and use them to build these structures.

The structure needs a PCI device handle [2] that consists of the device BDF.
The vfio-pci device corresponding to the acpi-generic-initiator object is
located to determine the BDF.

a2531bb855 hw/arm: Deprecate various old Arm machine types
QEMU includes some models of old Arm machine types which are
a bit problematic for us because:
 * they're written in a very old way that uses numerous APIs that we
   would like to get away from (eg they don't use qdev, they use
   qemu_system_reset_request(), they use vmstate_register(), etc)
 * they've been that way for a decade plus and nobody particularly has
   stepped up to try to modernise the code (beyond some occasional
   work here and there)
 * we often don't have test cases for them, which means that if we
   do try to do the necessary refactoring work on them we have no
   idea if they even still work at all afterwards

All these machine types are also of hardware that has largely passed
away into history and where I would not be surprised to find that
e.g. the Linux kernel support was never tested on real hardware
any more.

After some consultation with the Linux kernel developers, we
are going to deprecate:

All PXA2xx machines:

akita                Sharp SL-C1000 (Akita) PDA (PXA270)
borzoi               Sharp SL-C3100 (Borzoi) PDA (PXA270)
connex               Gumstix Connex (PXA255)
mainstone            Mainstone II (PXA27x)

n800                 Nokia N800 tablet aka. RX-34 (OMAP2420)

One of the OMAP1 machines:

cheetah              Palm Tungsten|E aka. Cheetah PDA (OMAP310)

Rationale:
 * for QEMU dropping individual machines is much less beneficial
   than if we can drop support for an entire SoC
 * the OMAP2 QEMU code in particular is large, old and unmaintained,
   and none of the OMAP2 kernel maintainers said they were using
   QEMU in any of their testing/development
 * although there is a setup that is booting test kernels on some
   of the PXA2xx machines, nobody seemed to be using them as part
   of their active kernel development and my impression from the
   email thread is that PXA is the closest of all these SoC families
   to being dropped from the kernel soon
 * nobody said they were using cheetah, so it's entirely
   untested and quite probably broken
 * on the other hand the OMAP1 sx1 model does seem to be being
   used as part of kernel development, and there was interest
   in keeping collie around

In particular, the mainstone, tosa and z2 machine types have
already been dropped from Linux.

Mark all these machine types as deprecated.

7dd0b070fa hw/arm/virt-acpi-build.c: Migrate SPCR creation to common location
RISC-V should also generate the SPCR in a manner similar to ARM.
Therefore, instead of replicating the code, relocate this function
to the common AML build.

Now that we can generate reliable clock frequencies from the RCC, remove

d6b55a0fe9 hw/misc/stm32l4x5_rcc: Implement STM32L4x5_RCC skeleton
Add the necessary files to add a simple RCC implementation with just
reads from and writes to registers. Also instantiate the RCC in the
STM32L4x5_SoC. It is needed for accurate emulation of all the SoC
clocks and timers.

bf1da4b308 hw/arm/raspi4b: Temporarily disable unimplemented rpi4b devices
This commit adds RPi4B device tree modifications:
- disable pcie, rng200, thermal sensor and genet devices
  (they're going to be re-enabled in the following commits)
- create additional memory region in device tree
  if RAM amount exceeds VC base address.

db052d0eaf aspeed: fix hardcode boot address 0
In the previous design of ASPEED SOCs QEMU model, it set the boot
address at "0" which was the hardcode setting for ast10x0, ast2600,
ast2500 and ast2400.

According to the design of ast2700, it has a bootmcu(riscv-32) which
is used for executing SPL and initialize DRAM and copy u-boot image
from SPI/Flash to DRAM at address 0x400000000 at SPL boot stage.
Then, CPUs(cortex-a35) execute u-boot, kernel and rofs.

Currently, qemu not support emulate two CPU architectures
at the same machine. Therefore, qemu will only support
to emulate CPU(cortex-a35) side for ast2700 and the boot
address is "0x4 00000000".

Fixed hardcode boot address "0" for future models using
a different mapping address.

944128ee8e aspeed: introduce a new UART0 device name
The Aspeed datasheet refers to the UART controllers
as UART1 - UART13 for the ast10x0, ast2600, ast2500
and ast2400 SoCs and the Aspeed ast2700 introduces an UART0
and the UART controllers as UART0 - UART12.

To keep the naming in the QEMU models
in sync with the datasheet, let's introduce a new  UART0 device name
and do the required adjustements.

15f07fb821 hw/usb: extract sysbus-ohci to a separate file
Split the sysbus version to a separate file so that it is not
included in PCI-only machines, and adjust Kconfig for machines
that do need sysbus-ohci.  The copyrights are based on the
time and employer of balrog and Paul Brook's contributions.

While adjusting the SM501 dependency, move it to the right place
instead of keeping it in the R4D machine.

a71e264614 hw/arm/mps3r: Add UARTs
This board has a lot of UARTs: there is one UART per CPU in the
per-CPU peripheral part of the address map, whose interrupts are
connected as per-CPU interrupt lines.  Then there are 4 UARTs in the
normal part of the peripheral space, whose interrupts are shared
peripheral interrupts.

Connect and wire them all up; this involves some OR gates where
multiple overflow interrupts are wired into one GIC input.

273a70ae82 hw/arm/mps3r: Initial skeleton for mps3-an536 board
The AN536 is another FPGA image for the MPS3 development board. Unlike
the existing FPGA images we already model, this board uses a Cortex-R
family CPU, and it does not use any equivalent to the M-profile
"Subsystem for Embedded" SoC-equivalent that we model in hw/arm/armsse.c.
It's therefore more convenient for us to model it as a completely
separate C file.

This commit adds the basic skeleton of the board model, and the
code to create all the RAM and ROM. We assume that we're probably
going to want to add more images in future, so use the same
base class/subclass setup that mps2-tz.c uses, even though at
the moment there's only a single subclass.

Following commits will add the CPUs and the peripherals.

The patchset adding the GMAC ethernet to this SoC crossed in the
mail with the patchset cleaning up the NIC handling. When we
create the GMAC modules we must call qemu_configure_nic_device()
so that the user has the opportunity to use the -nic commandline
option to create a network backend and connect it to the GMACs.

Add the missing call.

1ec896fe7c hw/arm/virt: Wire up non-secure EL2 virtual timer IRQ
Armv8.1+ CPUs have the Virtual Host Extension (VHE) which adds a
non-secure EL2 virtual timer.  We implemented the timer itself in the
CPU model, but never wired up its IRQ line to the GIC.

Wire up the IRQ line (this is always safe whether the CPU has the
interrupt or not, since it always creates the outbound IRQ line).
Report it to the guest via dtb and ACPI if the CPU has the feature.

The DTB binding is documented in the kernel's
Documentation/devicetree/bindings/timer/arm\,arch_timer.yaml
and the ACPI table entries are documented in the ACPI specification
version 6.3 or later.

Because the IRQ line ACPI binding is new in 6.3, we need to bump the
FADT table rev to show that we might be using 6.3 features.

Note that exposing this IRQ in the DTB will trigger a bug in EDK2
versions prior to edk2-stable202311, for users who use the virt board
with 'virtualization=on' to enable EL2 emulation and are booting an
EDK2 guest BIOS, if that EDK2 has assertions enabled.  The effect is
that EDK2 will assert on bootup:

 ASSERT [ArmTimerDxe] /home/kraxel/projects/qemu/roms/edk2/ArmVirtPkg/Library/ArmVirtTimerFdtClientLib/ArmVirtTimerFdtClientLib.c(72): PropSize == 36 || PropSize == 48

If you see that assertion you should do one of:
 * update your EDK2 binaries to edk2-stable202311 or newer
 * use the 'virt-8.2' versioned machine type
 * not use 'virtualization=on'

(The versions shipped with QEMU itself have the fix.)

8a6b3f4dc9 smmu: Clear SMMUPciBus pointer cache when system reset
s->smmu_pcibus_by_bus_num is a SMMUPciBus pointer cache indexed
by bus number, bus number may not always be a fixed value,
i.e., guest reboot to different kernel which set bus number with
different algorithm.

This could lead to smmu_iommu_mr() providing the wrong iommu MR.

1328084588 hw/arm/stellaris: use qemu_find_nic_info()
Rather than just using qemu_configure_nic_device(), populate the MAC
address in the system-registers device by peeking at the NICInfo before
it's assigned to the device.

Generate the MAC address early, if there is no matching -nic option.
Otherwise the MAC address wouldn't be generated until net_client_init1()
runs.

f09c2b7ba9 hw/arm: Connect SPI Controller to BCM2835
This patch will allow the SPI controller to be accessible from BCM2835 based
boards as SPI0. SPI driver is usually disabled by default and config.txt does
not work.

Instead, dtmerge can be used to apply spi=on on a bcm2835 dtb file.

on trace events should be able to opt-in to each trace event and rely on
QEMU's log redirection, instead of stderr by default.

This commit converts DPRINTFs in this file that are used for tracing
into trace events. Errors or warnings are converted to error_report and
warn_report calls.

3fd941f3f1 hw/arm: Hook up FSI module in AST2600
This patchset introduces IBM's Flexible Service Interface(FSI).

Time for some fun with inter-processor buses. FSI allows a service
processor access to the internal buses of a host POWER processor to
perform configuration or debugging.

FSI has long existed in POWER processes and so comes with some baggage,
including how it has been integrated into the ASPEED SoC.

Working backwards from the POWER processor, the fundamental pieces of
interest for the implementation are:

1. The Common FRU Access Macro (CFAM), an address space containing
   various "engines" that drive accesses on buses internal and external
   to the POWER chip. Examples include the SBEFIFO and I2C masters. The
   engines hang off of an internal Local Bus (LBUS) which is described
   by the CFAM configuration block.

2. The FSI slave: The slave is the terminal point of the FSI bus for
   FSI symbols addressed to it. Slaves can be cascaded off of one
   another. The slave's configuration registers appear in address space
   of the CFAM to which it is attached.

3. The FSI master: A controller in the platform service processor (e.g.
   BMC) driving CFAM engine accesses into the POWER chip. At the
   hardware level FSI is a bit-based protocol supporting synchronous and
   DMA-driven accesses of engines in a CFAM.

4. The On-Chip Peripheral Bus (OPB): A low-speed bus typically found in
   POWER processors. This now makes an appearance in the ASPEED SoC due
   to tight integration of the FSI master IP with the OPB, mainly the
   existence of an MMIO-mapping of the CFAM address straight onto a
   sub-region of the OPB address space.

5. An APB-to-OPB bridge enabling access to the OPB from the ARM core in
   the AST2600. Hardware limitations prevent the OPB from being directly
   mapped into APB, so all accesses are indirect through the bridge.

The LBUS is modelled to maintain the qdev bus hierarchy and to take
advantage of the object model to automatically generate the CFAM
configuration block. The configuration block presents engines in the
order they are attached to the CFAM's LBUS. Engine implementations
should subclass the LBusDevice and set the 'config' member of
LBusDeviceClass to match the engine's type.

CFAM designs offer a lot of flexibility, for instance it is possible for
a CFAM to be simultaneously driven from multiple FSI links. The modeling
is not so complete; it's assumed that each CFAM is attached to a single
FSI slave (as a consequence the CFAM subclasses the FSI slave).

As for FSI, its symbols and wire-protocol are not modelled at all. This
is not necessary to get FSI off the ground thanks to the mapping of the
CFAM address space onto the OPB address space - the models follow this
directly and map the CFAM memory region into the OPB's memory region.
Future work includes supporting more advanced accesses that drive the
FSI master directly rather than indirectly via the CFAM mapping, which
will require implementing the FSI state machine and methods for each of
the FSI symbols on the slave. Further down the track we can also look at
supporting the bitbanged SoftFSI drivers in Linux by extending the FSI
slave model to resolve sequences of GPIO IRQs into FSI symbols, and
calling the associated symbol method on the slave to map the access onto
the CFAM.

Testing:
    Tested by reading cfam config address 0 on rainier machine type.

b0d1021ed9 fsl-imx6ul: Add various missing unimplemented devices
Add MMDC, OCOTP, SQPI, CAAM, and USBMISC as unimplemented devices.

This allows operating systems such as Linux to run emulations such as
mcimx6ul-evk.

Before commit 0cd4926b85 ("Refactor i.MX6UL processor code"), the affected
memory ranges were covered by the unimplemented DAP device. The commit
reduced the DAP address range from 0x100000 to 4kB, and the emulation
thus no longer covered the various unimplemented devices in the affected
address range.

ff7888dcc6 hw/arm/musicpal: Convert to qemu_add_kbd_event_handler()
Convert the musicpal key input device to use
qemu_add_kbd_event_handler().  This lets us simplify it because we no
longer need to track whether we're in the middle of a PS/2 multibyte
key sequence.

In the conversion we move the keyboard handler registration from init
to realize, because devices shouldn't disturb the state of the
simulation by doing things like registering input handlers until
they're realized, so that device objects can be introspected
safely.

The behaviour where key-repeat is permitted for the arrow-keys only
is intentional (added in commit 7c6ce4baed), so we retain it,
and add a comment to that effect.

This is a migration compatibility break for musicpal.

4859da572b hw/arm/virt.c: Remove newline from error_report() string
error_report() strings should not include trailing newlines; remove
the newline from the error we print when devices won't fit into the
address space of the CPU.

This commit also fixes the accidental hardcoded tabs that were in
this line, since we have to touch the line anyway.

CPU types are invalid because their corresponding classes aren't
registered, as reported by Peter Maydell.

This commit adds a new B-L475E-IOT01A board using the STM32L475VG SoC
as well as a dedicated documentation file.
The implementation is derived from the Netduino Plus 2 machine.

287fa32324 hw: Simplify accesses to the CPUState::'start-powered-off' property
The 'start-powered-off' property has been added to ARM CPUs in
commit 5de164304a ("arm: Allow secondary KVM CPUs to be booted
via PSCI"), then eventually got generalized to all CPUs in commit
c1b701587e ("target/arm: Move start-powered-off property to generic
CPUState"). Since all CPUs have it, no need to check whether it is
available. Updating this property can't fail, so use &error_abort.

The 'host' CPU model isn't available until KVM or HVF is enabled.
For example, the following error messages are seen when the guest
is started with option '-cpu cortex-a8' on tcg after the next commit
is applied to check the CPU type in machine_run_board_init().

Set the MachineClass::valid_cpu_types field (introduced in commit
c9cf636d48 "machine: Add a valid_cpu_types property").
Remove the now unused MachineClass::default_cpu_type field.

We now get:

  $ qemu-system-aarch64 -M stm32vldiscovery -cpu neoverse-n1
  qemu-system-aarch64: Invalid CPU type: neoverse-n1-arm-cpu
  The valid types are: cortex-m3-arm-cpu

Since the SoC family can only use Cortex-M3 CPUs, hard-code the
CPU type name at the SoC level, removing the QOM property
entirely.

e1b72c55b1 hw/arm/stm32f405: Report error when incorrect CPU is used
Both 'netduinoplus2' and 'olimex-stm32-h405' machines ignore the
CPU type requested by the command line. This might confuse users,
since the following will create a machine with a Cortex-M4 CPU:

  $ qemu-system-aarch64 -M netduinoplus2 -cpu cortex-r5f

Set the MachineClass::valid_cpu_types field (introduced in commit
c9cf636d48 "machine: Add a valid_cpu_types property").
Remove the now unused MachineClass::default_cpu_type field.

We now get:

  $ qemu-system-aarch64 -M netduinoplus2 -cpu cortex-r5f
  qemu-system-aarch64: Invalid CPU type: cortex-r5f-arm-cpu
  The valid types are: cortex-m4-arm-cpu

1d675e59ea hw/arm/virt: fix GIC maintenance IRQ registration
Since commit 9036e917f8 ("{include/}hw/arm: refactor virt PPI logic"),
GIC maintenance IRQ registration fails on arm64:

[    0.979743] kvm [1]: Cannot register interrupt 9

That commit re-defined VIRTUAL_PMU_IRQ to be a INTID but missed a case
where the maintenance IRQ is actually referred by its PPI index. Just
like commit fa68ecb330 ("hw/arm/virt: fix PMU IRQ registration"), use
INITID_TO_PPI(). A search of "GIC_FDT_IRQ_TYPE_PPI" indicates that there
shouldn't be more similar issues.
