Misaligned thumb PC is architecturally impossible.
Assert is better than proceeding, in case we've missed
something somewhere.

Expand a comment about aligning the pc in gdbstub.
Fail an incoming migrate if a thumb pc is misaligned.

85e7d1e9ff target/arm: Enforce that FPDSCR.LTPSIZE is 4 on inbound migration
Architecturally, for an M-profile CPU with the LOB feature the
LTPSIZE field in FPDSCR is always constant 4.  QEMU's implementation
enforces this everywhere, except that we don't check that it is true
in incoming migration data.

We're going to add come in gen_update_fp_context() which relies on
the "always 4" property.  Since this is TCG-only, we don't actually
need to be robust to bogus incoming migration data, and the effect of
it being wrong would be wrong code generation rather than a QEMU
crash; but if it did ever happen somehow it would be very difficult
to track down the cause.  Add a check so that we fail the inbound
migration if the FPDSCR.LTPSIZE value is incorrect.

b26b5629c0 target/arm: Make FPSCR.LTPSIZE writable for MVE
The M-profile FPSCR has an LTPSIZE field, but if MVE is not
implemented it is read-only and always reads as 4; this is how QEMU
currently handles it.

Make the field writable when MVE is implemented.

We can safely add the field to the MVE migration struct because
currently no CPUs enable MVE and so the migration struct is never
used.

register, which tracks predication information.

af903caed9 target/arm: Don't migrate CPUARMState.features
As feature flags are added or removed, the meanings of bits in the
`features` field can change between QEMU versions, causing migration
failures. Additionally, migrating the field is not useful because it is
a constant function of the CPU being used.

3ddba9a9e9 migration: Replace migration's JSON writer by the general one
Commit 8118f0950f "migration: Append JSON description of migration
stream" needs a JSON writer.  The existing qobject_to_json() wasn't a
good fit, because it requires building a QObject to convert.  Instead,
migration got its very own JSON writer, in commit 190c882ce2 "QJSON:
Add JSON writer".  It tacitly limits numbers to int64_t, and strings
contents to characters that don't need escaping, unlike
qobject_to_json().

The previous commit factored the JSON writer out of qobject_to_json().
Replace migration's JSON writer by it.

7d63183ff1 target/arm: Add isar_feature_aa64_fp_simd, isar_feature_aa32_vfp
We cannot easily create "any" functions for these, because the
ID_AA64PFR0 fields for FP and SIMD signal "enabled" with zero.
Which means that an aarch32-only cpu will return incorrect results
when testing the aarch64 registers.

To use these, we must either have context or additionally test
vs ARM_FEATURE_AARCH64.

e5ac4200b4 target/arm/kvm: Implement virtual time adjustment
When a VM is stopped (such as when it's paused) guest virtual time
should stop counting. Otherwise, when the VM is resumed it will
experience time jumps and its kernel may report soft lockups. Not
counting virtual time while the VM is stopped has the side effect
of making the guest's time appear to lag when compared with real
time, and even with time derived from the physical counter. For
this reason, this change, which is enabled by default, comes with
a KVM CPU feature allowing it to be disabled, restoring legacy
behavior.

This patch only provides the implementation of the virtual time
adjustment. A subsequent patch will provide the CPU property
allowing the change to be enabled and disabled.

12e9493df9 Include hw/boards.h a bit less
hw/boards.h pulls in almost 60 headers.  The less we include it into
headers, the better.  As a first step, drop superfluous inclusions,
and downgrade some more to what's actually needed.  Gets rid of just
one inclusion into a header.

650d103d3e Include hw/hw.h exactly where needed
In my "build everything" tree, changing hw/hw.h triggers a recompile
of some 2600 out of 6600 objects (not counting tests and objects that
don't depend on qemu/osdep.h).

The previous commits have left only the declaration of hw_error() in
hw/hw.h.  This permits dropping most of its inclusions.  Touching it
now recompiles less than 200 objects.

b698e4eef5 arm: Allow system registers for KVM guests to be changed by QEMU code
At the moment the Arm implementations of kvm_arch_{get,put}_registers()
don't support having QEMU change the values of system registers
(aka coprocessor registers for AArch32). This is because although
kvm_arch_get_registers() calls write_list_to_cpustate() to
update the CPU state struct fields (so QEMU code can read the
values in the usual way), kvm_arch_put_registers() does not
call write_cpustate_to_list(), meaning that any changes to
the CPU state struct fields will not be passed back to KVM.

The rationale for this design is documented in a comment in the
AArch32 kvm_arch_put_registers() -- writing the values in the
cpregs list into the CPU state struct is "lossy" because the
write of a register might not succeed, and so if we blindly
copy the CPU state values back again we will incorrectly
change register values for the guest. The assumption was that
no QEMU code would need to write to the registers.

However, when we implemented debug support for KVM guests, we
broke that assumption: the code to handle "set the guest up
to take a breakpoint exception" does so by updating various
guest registers including ESR_EL1.

Support this by making kvm_arch_put_registers() synchronize
CPU state back into the list. We sync only those registers
where the initial write succeeds, which should be sufficient.

This commit is the same as commit 823e1b3818 which we
had to revert in commit 942f99c825, except that the bug
which was preventing EDK2 guest firmware running has been fixed:
kvm_arm_reset_vcpu() now calls write_list_to_cpustate().

d33abe82c7 target/arm: Implement dummy versions of M-profile FP-related registers
The M-profile floating point support has three associated config
registers: FPCAR, FPCCR and FPDSCR. It also makes the registers
CPACR and NSACR have behaviour other than reads-as-zero.
Add support for all of these as simple reads-as-written registers.
We will hook up actual functionality later.

The main complexity here is handling the FPCCR register, which
has a mix of banked and unbanked bits.

Note that we don't share storage with the A-profile
cpu->cp15.nsacr and cpu->cp15.cpacr_el1, though the behaviour
is quite similar, for two reasons:
 * the M profile CPACR is banked between security states
 * it preserves the invariant that M profile uses no state
   inside the cp15 substruct

980ebe8705 target/arm: Swap PMU values before/after migrations
Because of the PMU's design, many register accesses have side effects
which are inter-related, meaning that the normal method of saving CP
registers can result in inconsistent state. These side-effects are
largely handled in pmu_op_start/finish functions which can be called
before and after the state is saved/restored. By doing this and adding
raw read/write functions for the affected registers, we avoid
migration-related inconsistencies.

ed89f078ff target/arm: Track the state of our irq lines from the GIC explicitly
Currently we track the state of the four irq lines from the GIC
only via the cs->interrupt_request or KVM irq state. That means
that we assume that an interrupt is asserted if and only if the
external line is set. This assumption is incorrect for VIRQ
and VFIQ, because the HCR_EL2.{VI,VF} bits allow assertion
of VIRQ and VFIQ separately from the state of the external line.

To handle this, start tracking the state of the external lines
explicitly in a CPU state struct field, as is common practice
for devices.

The complicated part of this is dealing with inbound migration
from an older QEMU which didn't have this state. We assume in
that case that the older QEMU did not implement the HCR_EL2.{VI,VF}
bits as generating interrupts, and so the line state matches
the current state in cs->interrupt_request. (This is not quite
true between commit 8a0fc3a29f and its revert, but
that commit is broken and never made it into any released QEMU
version.)

202ccb6bab target/arm: Add support for VCPU event states
This patch extends the qemu-kvm state sync logic with support for
KVM_GET/SET_VCPU_EVENTS, giving access to yet missing SError exception.
And also it can support the exception state migration.

The SError exception states include SError pending state and ESR value,
the kvm_put/get_vcpu_events() will be called when set or get system
registers. When do migration, if source machine has SError pending,
QEMU will do this migration regardless whether the target machine supports
to specify guest ESR value, because if target machine does not support that,
it can also inject the SError with zero ESR value.

7b69454a12 target/arm: Add dummy needed functions to M profile vmstate subsections
Currently the migration code incorrectly treats a subsection with
no .needed function pointer as if it was the subsection list
terminator -- it is ignored and so is everything after it.
Work around this by giving various M profile vmstate structs
a 'needed' function that always returns true.
We reuse m_needed() for this, since it's always true here.

57bb315681 target/arm: Implement v8M MSPLIM and PSPLIM registers
The v8M architecture includes hardware support for enforcing
stack pointer limits. We don't implement this behaviour yet,
but provide the MSPLIM and PSPLIM stack pointer limit registers
as reads-as-written, so that when we do implement the checks
in future this won't break guest migration.

e1e7cbc904 target/arm: Migrate v7m.other_sp
In commit abc24d86cc we accidentally broke migration of
the stack pointer value for the mode (process, handler) the CPU
is not currently running as. (The commit correctly removed the
no-longer-used v7m.current_sp flag from the VMState but also
deleted the still very much in use v7m.other_sp SP value field.)

Add a subsection to migrate it again. (We don't need to care
about trying to retain compatibility with pre-abc24d86cc0364f
versions of QEMU, because that commit bumped the version_id
and we've since bumped it again a couple of times.)

43bbce7fbe hw/intc/armv7m_nvic: Implement cache ID registers
M profile cores have a similar setup for cache ID registers
to A profile:
 * Cache Level ID Register (CLIDR) is a fixed value
 * Cache Type Register (CTR) is a fixed value
 * Cache Size ID Registers (CCSIDR) are a bank of registers;
   which one you see is selected by the Cache Size Selection
   Register (CSSELR)

The only difference is that they're in the NVIC memory mapped
register space rather than being coprocessor registers.
Implement the M profile view of them.

Since neither Cortex-M3 nor Cortex-M4 implement caches,
we don't need to update their init functions and can leave
the ctr/clidr/ccsidr[] fields in their ARMCPU structs at zero.
Newer cores (like the Cortex-M33) will want to be able to
set these ID registers to non-zero values, though.

9901c576f6 nvic: Implement Security Attribution Unit registers
Implement the register interface for the SAU: SAU_CTRL,
SAU_TYPE, SAU_RNR, SAU_RBAR and SAU_RLAR. None of the
actual behaviour is implemented here; registers just
read back as written.

When the CPU definition for Cortex-M33 is eventually
added, its initfn will set cpu->sau_sregion, in the same
way that we currently set cpu->pmsav7_dregion for the
M3 and M4.

Number of SAU regions is typically a configurable
CPU parameter, but this patch doesn't provide a
QEMU CPU property for it. We can easily add one when
we have a board that requires it.

44b1ff319c migration: pre_save return int
Modify the pre_save method on VMStateDescription to return an int
rather than void so that it potentially can fail.

Changed zillions of devices to make them return 0; the only
case I've made it return non-0 is hw/intc/s390_flic_kvm.c that already
had an error_report/return case.

Note: If you add an error exit in your pre_save you must emit
an error_report to say why.

fb602cb726 target/arm: Implement BXNS, and banked stack pointers
Implement the BXNS v8M instruction, which is like BX but will do a
jump-and-switch-to-NonSecure if the branch target address has bit 0
clear.

This is the first piece of code which implements "switch to the
other security state", so the commit also includes the code to
switch the stack pointers around, which is the only complicated
part of switching security state.

BLXNS is more complicated than just "BXNS but set the link register",
so we leave it for a separate commit.

9d40cd8a68 target/arm: Make CCR register banked for v8M
Make the CCR register banked if v8M security extensions are enabled.

This is slightly more complicated than the other "add banking"
patches because there is one bit in the register which is not
banked. We keep the live data in the NS copy of the register,
and adjust it on register reads and writes. (Since we don't
currently implement the behaviour that the bit controls, there
is nowhere else that needs to care.)

This patch includes the enforcement of the bits which are newly
RES1 in ARMv8M.

Note that we do not yet implement the functionality of the new
AIRCR.PRIS bit (which allows the effect of the NS copy of FAULTMASK to
be restricted).

This patch includes the code to determine for v8M which copy
of FAULTMASK should be updated on exception exit; further
changes will be required to the exception exit code in general
to support v8M, so this is just a small piece of that.

The v8M ARM ARM introduces a notation where individual paragraphs
are labelled with R (for rule) or I (for information) followed
by a random group of subscript letters. In comments where we want
to refer to a particular part of the manual we use this convention,
which should be more stable across document revisions than using
section or page numbers.

0e1a46bbd2 target/arm: Implement ARMv8M's PMSAv8 registers
As part of ARMv8M, we need to add support for the PMSAv8 MPU
architecture.

PMSAv8 differs from PMSAv7 both in register/data layout (for instance
using base and limit registers rather than base and size) and also in
behaviour (for example it does not have subregions); rather than
trying to wedge it into the existing PMSAv7 code and data structures,
we define separate ones.

This commit adds the data structures which hold the state for a
PMSAv8 MPU and the register interface to it.  The implementation of
the MPU behaviour will be added in a subsequent commit.

eeade00176 target/arm: Don't use cpsr_write/cpsr_read to transfer M profile XPSR
For M profile the XPSR is a similar but not identical format to the
A profile CPSR/SPSR. (For instance the Thumb bit is in a different
place.) For guest accesses we make the M profile code go through
xpsr_read() and xpsr_write() which handle the different layout.
However for migration we use cpsr_read() and cpsr_write() to
marshal state into and out of the migration data stream. This
is pretty confusing and works more by luck than anything else.
Make M profile migration use xpsr_read() and xpsr_write() instead.

The most complicated part of this is handling the possibility
that the migration source is an older QEMU which hands us a
CPSR format value; helpfully we can always tell the two apart.
