Patch introduces acpi_table_begin()/ acpi_table_end() API
that hides pointer/offset arithmetic from user as opposed
to build_header(), to prevent errors caused by it [1].
acpi_table_begin():
initializes table header and keeps track of
table data/offsets
acpi_table_end():
sets actual table length and tells bios loader
where table is for the later initialization on
guest side.

qapi_event_send_mem_unplug_error() deals with @device being NULL by
replacing it with an empty string ("") when emitting the event. Aside
from the fact that this behavior (qapi visitor mapping NULL pointer to
"") can be patched/changed someday, there's also the lack of utility
that the event brings to listeners, e.g. "a memory unplug error happened
somewhere".
In theory we should just avoit emitting this event at all if dev->id is
NULL, but this would be an incompatible change to existing guests.
Instead, let's make the forementioned behavior explicit: if dev->id is
NULL, pass an empty string to qapi_event_send_mem_unplug_error().

Currently various acpi hotplug modules like cpu hotplug, memory hotplug, pci
hotplug, nvdimm hotplug are all pulled in when CONFIG_ACPI_X86 is turned on.
This brings in support for whole lot of subsystems that some targets like
mips does not need. They are added just to satisfy symbol dependencies. This
is ugly and should be avoided. Targets should be able to pull in just what they
need and no more. For example, mips only needs support for PIIX4 and does not
need acpi pci hotplug support or cpu hotplug support or memory hotplug support
etc. This change is an effort to clean this up.
In this change, new config variables are added for various acpi hotplug
subsystems. Targets like mips can only enable PIIX4 support and not the rest
of all the other modules which were being previously pulled in as a part of
CONFIG_ACPI_X86. Function stubs make sure that symbols which piix4 needs but
are not required by mips (for example, symbols specific to pci hotplug etc)
are available to satisfy the dependencies.
Currently, this change only addresses issues with mips malta targets. In future
we might be able to clean up other targets which are similarly pulling in lot
of unnecessary hotplug modules by enabling ACPI_X86.
This change should also address issues such as the following:

Now that we have "acpi-pci-hotplug-with-bridge-support" PIIX4 PM property being
used for both q35 and i440fx machine types, it is better that we defined this
property string at a single place within a header file like other PIIX4
properties. We can then use this single definition at all the places that needs
it instead of duplicating the string everywhere. While at it, this change also
adds a definition for "acpi-root-pci-hotplug" PIIX4 PM property and uses
this definition at all places that were formally using the string value.

Q35 has three different types of PCI devices hot-plug: PCIe Native,
SHPC Native and ACPI hot-plug. This patch changes the default choice
for cold-plugged bridges from PCIe Native to ACPI Hot-plug with
ability to use SHPC and PCIe Native for hot-plugged bridges.
This is a list of the PCIe Native hot-plug issues that led to this
change:
* no racy behavior during boot (see 110c477c2e)
* no delay during deleting - after the actual power off software
must wait at least 1 second before indicating about it. This case
is quite important for users, it even has its own bug:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1594168
* no timer-based behavior - in addition to the previous example,
the attention button has a 5-second waiting period, during which
the operation can be canceled with a second press. While this
looks fine for manual button control, automation will result in
the need to queue or drop events, and the software receiving
events in all sort of unspecified combinations of attention/power
indicator states, which is racy and uppredictable.

Instead of changing the hot-plug type in _OSC register, do not
set the 'Hot-Plug Capable' flag. This way guest will choose ACPI
hot-plug if it is preferred and leave the option to use SHPC with
pcie-pci-bridge.
The ability to control hot-plug for each downstream port is retained,
while 'hotplug=off' on the port means all hot-plug types are disabled.

Allow code elsewhere in the system to check whether the ACPI GHES
table is present, so it can determine whether it is OK to try to
record an error by calling acpi_ghes_record_errors().
(We don't need to migrate the new 'present' field in AcpiGhesState,
because it is set once at system initialization and doesn't change.)

Generic code in target/arm wants to call acpi_ghes_record_errors();
provide a stub version so that we don't fail to link when
CONFIG_ACPI_APEI is not set. This requires us to add a new
ghes-stub.c file to contain it and the meson.build mechanics

Commit 6be8cf56bc made sure that SCI is enabled in PM1.CNT
on reset in acpi_only mode by modifying acpi_pm1_cnt_reset() and
that worked for q35 as expected.
The function was introduced by commit
eaba51c573 (acpi, acpi_piix, vt82c686: factor out PM1_CNT logic)
that forgot to actually call it at piix4 reset time and as result
SCI_EN wasn't set as was expected by 6be8cf56bc in acpi_only mode.
So Windows crashes when it notices that SCI_EN is not set and FADT is
not providing information about how to enable it anymore.
Reproducer:
qemu-system-x86_64 -enable-kvm -M pc-i440fx-6.0,smm=off -cdrom any_windows_10x64.iso
Fix it by calling acpi_pm1_cnt_reset() at piix4 reset time.
Occasionally this patch adds reset acpi PM related registers on
piix4 reset time and de-assert sci.
piix4_pm_realize() initializes acpi pm tmr, evt, cnt and gpe.
Reset them on device reset. pm_reset() in ich9.c correctly calls
corresponding reset functions.

Let's also set a maximum size for "etc/acpi/rsdp", so the maximum
size doesn't get implicitly set based on the initial table size. In my
experiments, the table size was in the range of 22 bytes, so a single
page (== what we used until now) seems to be good enough.
Now that we have defined maximum sizes for all currently used table types,
let's assert that we catch usage with new tables that need a proper maximum
size definition.
Also assert that our initial size does not exceed the maximum size; while
qemu_ram_alloc_internal() properly asserts that the initial RAMBlock size
is <= its maximum size, the result might differ when the host page size
is bigger than 4k.

We want to have safety margins for all tables based on the table type.
Let's move the maximum size logic into acpi_add_rom_blob() and make it
dependent on the table name, so we don't have to replicate for each and
every instance that creates such tables.

In x86/ACPI world, linux distros are using predictable
network interface naming since systemd v197. Which on
QEMU based VMs results into path based naming scheme,
that names network interfaces based on PCI topology.
With itm on has to plug NIC in exactly the same bus/slot,
which was used when disk image was first provisioned/configured
or one risks to loose network configuration due to NIC being
renamed to actually used topology.
That also restricts freedom to reshape PCI configuration of
VM without need to reconfigure used guest image.
systemd also offers "onboard" naming scheme which is
preferred over PCI slot/topology one, provided that
firmware implements:

that allows to assign user defined index to PCI device,
which systemd will use to name NIC. For example, using
-device e1000,acpi-index=100
guest will rename NIC to 'eno100', where 'eno' is default
prefix for "onboard" naming scheme. This doesn't require
any advance configuration on guest side to com in effect
at 'onboard' scheme takes priority over path based naming.
Hope is that 'acpi-index' it will be easier to consume by
management layer, compared to forcing specific PCI topology
and/or having several disk image templates for different
topologies and will help to simplify process of spawning
VM from the same template without need to reconfigure
guest NIC.
This patch adds, 'acpi-index'* property and wires up
a 32bit register on top of pci hotplug register block
to pass index value to AML code at runtime.
Following patch will add corresponding _DSM code and
wire it up to PCI devices described in ACPI.

If SMM is not supported, ACPI fixed hardware doesn't support
legacy-mode. ACPI-only platform. Where SCI_EN in PM1_CNT register is
always set.
The bit tells OS legacy mode(SCI_EN cleared) or ACPI mode(SCI_EN set).
With the next patch (setting fadt.smi_cmd = 0 when smm isn't enabled),
guest Linux tries to switch to ACPI mode, finds smi_cmd = 0, and then
fails to initialize acpi subsystem. This patch proactively fixes it.
This patch changes guest ABI. To keep compatibility, use
"smm-compat" introduced by earlier patch. If the property is true,
disable new behavior.

Qemu's ACPI table generation sets the fields OEM ID and OEM table ID
to "BOCHS " and "BXPCxxxx" where "xxxx" is replaced by the ACPI
table name.
Some games like Red Dead Redemption 2 seem to check the ACPI OEM ID
and OEM table ID for the strings "BOCHS" and "BXPC" and if they are
found, the game crashes(this may be an intentional detection
mechanism to prevent playing the game in a virtualized environment).
This patch allows you to override these default values.
The feature can be used in this manner:
qemu -machine oem-id=ABCDEF,oem-table-id=GHIJKLMN
The oem-id string can be up to 6 bytes in size, and the
oem-table-id string can be up to 8 bytes in size. If the string are
smaller than their respective sizes they will be padded with space.
If either of these parameters is not set, the current default values
will be used for the one missing.
Note that the the OEM Table ID field will not be extended with the
name of the table, but will use either the default name or the user
provided one.
This does not affect the -acpitable option (for user-defined ACPI
tables), which has precedence over -machine option.

AML needs Address Translation offset to describe how a bridge translates
addresses accross the bridge when using an address descriptor, and
especially on ARM, the translation offset of pio resource is usually
non zero.
Therefore, it's necessary to pass offset for pio, mmio32, mmio64 and bus
number into build_crs.

Adds bit #4 to status/control field of CPU hotplug MMIO interface.
New bit will be used OSPM to mark CPUs as pending for removal by firmware,
when it calls _EJ0 method on CPU device node. Later on, when firmware
sees this bit set, it will perform CPU eject which will clear bit #4
as well.

Extract crs build form acpi_build.c, the function could also be used
to build the crs for pxbs for arm. The resources are composed by two parts:
1. The bar space of pci-bridge/pcie-root-ports
2. The resources needed by devices behind PXBs.
The base and limit of memory/io are obtained from the config via two APIs:
pci_bridge_get_base and pci_bridge_get_limit

Extracting the ACPI commands to their own schema reduces the size of
the qapi-misc* headers generated, and pulls less QAPI-generated code

When acpi hotplug is turned off for both root pci bus as well as for pci
bridges, we should not generate the related ACPI code for DSDT table or
initialize related hw ports or reserve hw resources. This change makes
sure all those operations are turned off in the case ACPI pci hotplug is
off globally.
In this change, we also make sure ACPI code for the PCNT method are only
added when bsel is enabled for the corresponding pci bus or bridge hotplug
is turned on.
As q35 machines do not use bsel for it's pci buses at this point in time, this
change affects DSDT acpi table for q35 machines as well. Therefore, we will
also need to commit the updated golden master DSDT table acpi binary blobs as
well. Following is the list of blobs which needs updating:

When ACPI hotplug for the root bus is disabled, the bsel property for that
bus is not set. Please see the following commit:
3d7e78aa77 ("Introduce a new flag for i440fx to disable PCI hotplug on the
root bus").
As a result, when acpi_pcihp_find_hotplug_bus() is called
with bsel set to 0, it may return the root bus. This can cause devices
attached to the root bus to get hot-unplugged if the user issues the following
set of commmands:

In this patch, we fix the issue in this function by checking if the bus which
is returned by the function is actually hotpluggable. If not, we simply return
NULL. This avoids the scenario where we were returning a non-hotpluggable bus.

In case firmware has negotiated CPU hotplug SMI feature, generate
AML to describe SMI IO port region and send SMI to firmware
on each CPU hotplug SCI in case new CPUs were hotplugged.
Since new CPUs can be hotplugged while CPU_SCAN_METHOD is running
we can't send SMI before new CPUs are fetched from QEMU as it
could cause sending Notify to a CPU that firmware hasn't seen yet.
So fetch new CPUs into local cache first, then send SMI and
after that send Notify events to cached CPUs. This should ensure
that Notify is sent only to CPUs which were processed by firmware
first.
Any CPUs that were hotplugged after caching will be processed
by the next CPU_SCAN_METHOD, when pending SCI is handled.

CPU hot-unplug with SMM requires firmware participation to prevent
guest crash (i.e. CPU can be removed only after OS _and_ firmware
were prepared for the action).
Previous patches introduced ICH9_LPC_SMI_F_CPU_HOT_UNPLUG_BIT
feature bit, which is advertised by firmware when it has support
for CPU hot-unplug. Use it to check if guest is able to handle
unplug and make device_del fail gracefully if hot-unplug feature
hasn't been negotiated.

There were reports of guest crash on CPU hotplug, when using q35 machine
type and OVMF with SMM, due to hotplugged CPU trying to process SMI at
default SMI handler location without it being relocated by firmware first.
Fix it by refusing hotplug if firmware hasn't negotiated CPU hotplug with
SMI support while SMI broadcast is in use.

This makes it difficult to automatically replace their
definitions with OBJECT_DECLARE_TYPE.

We introduce a new global flag 'acpi-root-pci-hotplug' for i440fx with which
we can turn on or off PCI device hotplug on the root bus. This flag can be
used to prevent all PCI devices from getting hotplugged or unplugged from the
root PCI bus.
This feature is targetted mostly towards Windows VMs. It is useful in cases
where some hypervisor admins want to deploy guest VMs in a way so that the
users of the guest OSes are not able to hot-eject certain PCI devices from
the Windows system tray. Laine has explained the use case here in detail:

Julia has resolved this issue for PCIE buses with the following commit:
530a096318 ("pcie_root_port: Add hotplug disabling option")
This commit attempts to introduce similar behavior for PCI root buses used in
i440fx machine types (although in this case, we do not have a per-slot
capability to turn hotplug on or off).
Usage:
-global PIIX4_PM.acpi-root-pci-hotplug=off
By default, this option is enabled which means that hotplug is turned on for
the PCI root bus.
The previously existing flag 'acpi-pci-hotplug-with-bridge-support' for PCI-PCI
bridges remain as is and can be used along with this new flag to control PCI
hotplug on PCI bridges.
This change has been tested using a Windows 2012R2 server guest image and also
with a Windows 2019 server guest image on a Ubuntu 18.04 host using the latest
master qemu from upstream.

Meson doesn't enjoy the same flexibility we have with Make in choosing
the include path. In particular the tracing headers are using
$(build_root)/$(<D).
In order to keep the include directives unchanged,
the simplest solution is to generate headers with patterns like
"trace/trace-audio.h" and place forwarding headers in the source tree
such that for example "audio/trace.h" includes "trace/trace-audio.h".
This patch is too ugly to be applied to the Makefiles now. It's only
a way to separate the changes to the tracing header files from the
Meson rewrite of the tracing logic.

qbus_set_hotplug_handler() is a simple wrapper around
object_property_set_link().
object_property_set_link() fails when the property doesn't exist, is
not settable, or its .check() method fails. These are all programming
errors here, so passing &error_abort to qbus_set_hotplug_handler() is
appropriate.
Most of its callers do. Exceptions:
* pcie_cap_slot_init(), shpc_init(), spapr_phb_realize() pass NULL,
i.e. they ignore errors.
* spapr_machine_init() passes &error_fatal.
* s390_pcihost_realize(), virtio_serial_device_realize(),
s390_pcihost_plug() pass the error to their callers. The latter two
keep going after the error, which looks wrong.
Drop the @errp parameter, and instead pass &error_abort to
object_property_set_link().

NVDIMMs can belong to their own proximity domains, as described by the
NFIT. In such cases, the SRAT needs to have Memory Affinity structures
in the SRAT for these NVDIMMs, otherwise Linux doesn't populate node
data structures properly during NUMA initialization. See the following

Introduce a new helper, nvdimm_build_srat(), and call it for both the
i386 and arm versions of 'build_srat()' to augment the SRAT with
memory affinity information for NVDIMMs.

Devices may have component devices and buses.
Device realization may fail. Realization is recursive: a device's
realize() method realizes its components, and device_set_realized()
realizes its buses (which should in turn realize the devices on that
bus, except bus_set_realized() doesn't implement that, yet).
When realization of a component or bus fails, we need to roll back:
unrealize everything we realized so far. If any of these unrealizes
failed, the device would be left in an inconsistent state. Must not
happen.
device_set_realized() lets it happen: it ignores errors in the roll
back code starting at label child_realize_fail.
Since realization is recursive, unrealization must be recursive, too.
But how could a partly failed unrealize be rolled back? We'd have to
re-realize, which can fail. This design is fundamentally broken.
device_set_realized() does not roll back at all. Instead, it keeps
unrealizing, ignoring further errors.
It can screw up even for a device with no buses: if the lone
dc->unrealize() fails, it still unregisters vmstate, and calls
listeners' unrealize() callback.
bus_set_realized() does not roll back either. Instead, it stops
unrealizing.
Fortunately, no unrealize method can fail, as we'll see below.
To fix the design error, drop parameter @errp from all the unrealize
methods.
Any unrealize method that uses @errp now needs an update. This leads
us to unrealize() methods that can fail. Merely passing it to another
unrealize method cannot cause failure, though. Here are the ones that
do other things with @errp:
* virtio_serial_device_unrealize()
Fails when qbus_set_hotplug_handler() fails, but still does all the
other work. On failure, the device would stay realized with its
resources completely gone. Oops. Can't happen, because
qbus_set_hotplug_handler() can't actually fail here. Pass
&error_abort to qbus_set_hotplug_handler() instead.
* hw/ppc/spapr_drc.c's unrealize()
Fails when object_property_del() fails, but all the other work is
already done. On failure, the device would stay realized with its
vmstate registration gone. Oops. Can't happen, because
object_property_del() can't actually fail here. Pass &error_abort
to object_property_del() instead.
* spapr_phb_unrealize()
Fails and bails out when remove_drcs() fails, but other work is
already done. On failure, the device would stay realized with some
of its resources gone. Oops. remove_drcs() fails only when
chassis_from_bus()'s object_property_get_uint() fails, and it can't
here. Pass &error_abort to remove_drcs() instead.
Therefore, no unrealize method can fail before this patch.
device_set_realized()'s recursive unrealization via bus uses
object_property_set_bool(). Can't drop @errp there, so pass
&error_abort.
We similarly unrealize with object_property_set_bool() elsewhere,
always ignoring errors. Pass &error_abort instead.
Several unrealize methods no longer handle errors from other unrealize
methods: virtio_9p_device_unrealize(),
virtio_input_device_unrealize(), scsi_qdev_unrealize(), ...
Much of the deleted error handling looks wrong anyway.
One unrealize methods no longer ignore such errors:
usb_ehci_pci_exit().
Several realize methods no longer ignore errors when rolling back:
v9fs_device_realize_common(), pci_qdev_unrealize(),
spapr_phb_realize(), usb_qdev_realize(), vfio_ccw_realize(),
virtio_device_realize().

The only way object_property_add() can fail is when a property with
the same name already exists. Since our property names are all
hardcoded, failure is a programming error, and the appropriate way to
handle it is passing &error_abort.
Same for its variants, except for object_property_add_child(), which
additionally fails when the child already has a parent. Parentage is
also under program control, so this is a programming error, too.
We have a bit over 500 callers. Almost half of them pass
&error_abort, slightly fewer ignore errors, one test case handles
errors, and the remaining few callers pass them to their own callers.
The previous few commits demonstrated once again that ignoring
programming errors is a bad idea.
Of the few ones that pass on errors, several violate the Error API.
The Error ** argument must be NULL, &error_abort, &error_fatal, or a
pointer to a variable containing NULL. Passing an argument of the
latter kind twice without clearing it in between is wrong: if the
first call sets an error, it no longer points to NULL for the second
call. ich9_pm_add_properties(), sparc32_ledma_realize(),
sparc32_dma_realize(), xilinx_axidma_realize(), xilinx_enet_realize()
are wrong that way.
When the one appropriate choice of argument is &error_abort, letting
users pick the argument is a bad idea.
Drop parameter @errp and assert the preconditions instead.
There's one exception to "duplicate property name is a programming
error": the way object_property_add() implements the magic (and
undocumented) "automatic arrayification". Don't drop @errp there.
Instead, rename object_property_add() to object_property_try_add(),
and add the obvious wrapper object_property_add().

[Two semantic rebase conflicts resolved]
kvm_arch_on_sigbus_vcpu() error injection uses source_id as
index in etc/hardware_errors to find out Error Status Data
Block entry corresponding to error source. So supported source_id
values should be assigned here and not be changed afterwards to
make sure that guest will write error into expected Error Status
Data Block.
Before QEMU writes a new error to ACPI table, it will check whether
previous error has been acknowledged. If not acknowledged, the new
errors will be ignored and not be recorded. For the errors section
type, QEMU simulate it to memory section error.

Record the GHEB address via fw_cfg file, when recording
a error to CPER, it will use this address to find out
Generic Error Data Entries and write the error.
In order to avoid migration failure, make hardware
error table address to a part of GED device instead
of global variable, then this address will be migrated
to target QEMU.

This patch builds Hardware Error Source Table(HEST) via fw_cfg blobs.
Now it only supports ARMv8 SEA, a type of Generic Hardware Error
Source version 2(GHESv2) error source. Afterwards, we can extend
the supported types if needed. For the CPER section, currently it
is memory section because kernel mainly wants userspace to handle
the memory errors.
This patch follows the spec ACPI 6.2 to build the Hardware Error
Source table. For more detailed information, please refer to
document: docs/specs/acpi_hest_ghes.rst
build_ghes_hw_error_notification() helper will help to add Hardware
Error Notification to ACPI tables without using packed C structures
and avoid endianness issues as API doesn't need explicit conversion.

This patch builds error_block_address and read_ack_register fields
in hardware errors table , the error_block_address points to Generic
Error Status Block(GESB) via bios_linker. The max size for one GESB
is 1kb, For more detailed information, please refer to
document: docs/specs/acpi_hest_ghes.rst
Now we only support one Error source, if necessary, we can extend to
support more.

This adds support for nvdimm hotplug events through GED
and enables nvdimm for the arm/virt. Now Guests with ACPI
can have both cold and hot plug of nvdimms.
Hot removal functionality is not yet supported.

This patch makes IO base and size configurable to create NPIO AML for
ACPI NFIT. Since a different architecture like AArch64 does not use
port-mapped IO, a configurable IO base is required to create correct
mapping of ACPI IO address and size.

As per ACPI spec 6.3, Table 19-419 Object Conversion Rules, if
the Buffer Field <= to the size of an Integer (in bits), it will
be treated as an integer. Moreover, the integer size depends on
DSDT tables revision number. If revision number is < 2, integer
size is 32 bits, otherwise it is 64 bits. Current NVDIMM common
DSM aml code (NCAL) uses CreateField() for creating DSM output
buffer. This creates an issue in arm/virt platform where DSDT
revision number is 2 and results in DSM buffer with a wrong
size(8 bytes) gets returned when actual length is < 8 bytes.
This causes guest kernel to report,
"nfit ACPI0012:00: found a zero length table '0' parsing nfit"
In order to fix this, aml code is now modified such that it builds
the DSM output buffer in a byte by byte fashion when length is
smaller than Integer size.

Several objects implemented their own uint property getters and setters,
despite them being straightforward (without any checks/validations on
the values themselves) and identical across objects. This makes use of
an enhanced API for object_property_add_uintXX_ptr() which offers
default setters.
Some of these setters used to update the value even if the type visit
failed (eg. because the value being set overflowed over the given type).
The new setter introduces a check for these errors, not updating the
value if an error occurred. The error is propagated.

Traditionally, the uint-specific property helpers only offer getters.
When adding object (or class) uint types, one must therefore use the
generic property helper if a setter is needed (and probably duplicate
some code writing their own getters/setters).
This enhances the uint-specific property helper APIs by adding a
bitwise-or'd 'flags' field and modifying all clients of that API to set
this paramater to OBJ_PROP_FLAG_READ. This maintains the current
behaviour whilst allowing others to also set OBJ_PROP_FLAG_WRITE (or use
the more convenient OBJ_PROP_FLAG_READWRITE) in the future (which will
automatically install a setter). Other flags may be added later.

The current codebase makes use of the zero-length array language
extension to the C90 standard, but the preferred mechanism to
declare variable-length types such as these ones is a flexible
array member [1], introduced in C99:

By making use of the mechanism above, we will get a compiler
warning in case the flexible array does not occur last in the
structure, which will help us prevent some kind of undefined
behavior bugs from being unadvertenly introduced [2] to the

Firmware can enumerate present at boot APs by broadcasting wakeup IPI,
so that woken up secondary CPUs could register them-selves.
However in CPU hotplug case, it would need to know architecture
specific CPU IDs for possible and hotplugged CPUs so it could
prepare environment for and wake hotplugged AP.
Reuse and extend existing CPU hotplug interface to return architecture
specific ID for currently selected CPU in 2 registers:
- lower 32 bits in ACPI_CPU_CMD_DATA_OFFSET_RW
- upper 32 bits in ACPI_CPU_CMD_DATA2_OFFSET_R
On x86, firmware will use CPHP_GET_CPU_ID_CMD for fetching the APIC ID
when handling hotplug SMI.
Later, CPHP_GET_CPU_ID_CMD will be used on ARM to retrieve MPIDR,
which serves the similar to APIC ID purpose.

No functional change in practice, patch only aims to properly
document (in spec and code) intended usage of the reserved space.
The new field is to be used for 2 purposes:
- detection of modern CPU hotplug interface using
CPHP_GET_NEXT_CPU_WITH_EVENT_CMD command.
procedure will be described in follow up patch:
"acpi: cpuhp: spec: add typical usecases"
- for returning upper 32 bits of architecture specific CPU ID,
for new CPHP_GET_CPU_ID_CMD command added by follow up patch:
"acpi: cpuhp: add CPHP_GET_CPU_ID_CMD command"
Change is backward compatible with 4.2 and older machines, as field was
unconditionally reserved and always returned 0x0 if modern CPU hotplug
interface was enabled.

This structure describes memory side cache information for memory
proximity domains if the memory side cache is present and the
physical device forms the memory side cache.
The software could use this information to effectively place
the data in memory to maximize the performance of the system
memory that use the memory side cache.

HMAT is defined in ACPI 6.3: 5.2.27 Heterogeneous Memory Attribute Table
(HMAT). The specification references below link:

It describes the memory attributes, such as memory side cache
attributes and bandwidth and latency details, related to the
Memory Proximity Domain. The software is
expected to use this information as hint for optimization.
This structure describes Memory Proximity Domain Attributes by memory
subsystem and its associativity with processor proximity domain as well as
hint for memory usage.
In the linux kernel, the codes in drivers/acpi/hmat/hmat.c parse and report
the platform's HMAT tables.

legacy_acpi_cpu_plug_cb() dereferences @errp when
acpi_set_cpu_present_bit() fails. That's wrong; see the big comment
in error.h. Introduced in commit cc43364de7 "acpi/cpu-hotplug:
introduce helper function to keep bit setting in one place".
No caller actually passes null, and acpi_set_cpu_present_bit() can't
actually fail.
Fix anyway: drop acpi_set_cpu_present_bit()'s @errp parameter.

These devices implemented their load_state_old() handler 10 years
ago, previous to QEMU v0.12.
Since commit cc425b5ddf removed the pc-0.10 and pc-0.11 machines,
we can drop this code.
Note: the mips_r4k machine started to use the i8254 device just
after QEMU v0.5.0, but the MIPS machine types are not versioned,
so there is no migration compatibility issue removing this handler.

For machines 4.2 or higher with ACPI boot use GED for system_powerdown
event instead of GPIO. Guest boot with DT still uses GPIO.

The ACPI Generic Event Device (GED) is a hardware-reduced specific
device[ACPI v6.1 Section 5.6.9] that handles all platform events,
including the hotplug ones. This patch generates the AML code that
defines GEDs.
Platforms need to specify their own GED Event bitmap to describe
what kind of events they want to support through GED. Also this
uses a a single interrupt for the GED device, relying on IO
memory region to communicate the type of device affected by the
interrupt. This way, we can support up to 32 events with a unique
interrupt.
This supports only memory hotplug for now.

With Hardware-reduced ACPI, the GED device will manage ACPI
hotplug entirely. As a consequence, make the memory specific
events AML generation optional. The code will only be added
when the method name is not NULL.

This is in preparation for adding support for ARM64 platforms
where it doesn't use port mapped IO for ACPI IO space. We are
making changes so that MMIO region can be accommodated
and board can pass the base address into the aml build function.
Also move few MEMORY_* definitions to header so that other memory
hotplug event signalling mechanisms (eg. Generic Event Device on
HW-reduced acpi platforms) can use the same from their respective
event handler code.

Add struct NumaState in MachineState and move existing numa global
nb_numa_nodes(renamed as "num_nodes") into NumaState. And add variable
numa_support into MachineClass to decide which submachines support NUMA.

sysemu/sysemu.h is a rather unfocused dumping ground for stuff related
to the system-emulator. Evidence:
* It's included widely: in my "build everything" tree, changing
sysemu/sysemu.h still triggers a recompile of some 1100 out of 6600
objects (not counting tests and objects that don't depend on
qemu/osdep.h, down from 5400 due to the previous two commits).
* It pulls in more than a dozen additional headers.
Split stuff related to run state management into its own header
sysemu/runstate.h.
Touching sysemu/sysemu.h now recompiles some 850 objects. qemu/uuid.h
also drops from 1100 to 850, and qapi/qapi-types-run-state.h from 4400
to 4200. Touching new sysemu/runstate.h recompiles some 500 objects.
Since I'm touching MAINTAINERS to add sysemu/runstate.h anyway, also
add qemu/main-loop.h.

In my "build everything" tree, changing sysemu/sysemu.h triggers a
recompile of some 5400 out of 6600 objects (not counting tests and
objects that don't depend on qemu/osdep.h).
Almost a third of its inclusions are actually superfluous. Delete
them. Downgrade two more to qapi/qapi-types-run-state.h, and move one
from char/serial.h to char/serial.c.
hw/semihosting/config.c, monitor/monitor.c, qdev-monitor.c, and
stubs/semihost.c define variables declared in sysemu/sysemu.h without
including it. The compiler is cool with that, but include it anyway.
This doesn't reduce actual use much, as it's still included into
widely included headers. The next commit will tackle that.

hw/boards.h pulls in almost 60 headers. The less we include it into
headers, the better. As a first step, drop superfluous inclusions,
and downgrade some more to what's actually needed. Gets rid of just
one inclusion into a header.

In my "build everything" tree, changing hw/qdev-properties.h triggers
a recompile of some 2700 out of 6600 objects (not counting tests and
objects that don't depend on qemu/osdep.h).
Many places including hw/qdev-properties.h (directly or via hw/qdev.h)
actually need only hw/qdev-core.h. Include hw/qdev-core.h there
instead.
hw/qdev.h is actually pointless: all it does is include hw/qdev-core.h
and hw/qdev-properties.h, which in turn includes hw/qdev-core.h.
Replace the remaining uses of hw/qdev.h by hw/qdev-properties.h.
While there, delete a few superfluous inclusions of hw/qdev-core.h.
Touching hw/qdev-properties.h now recompiles some 1200 objects.
