qemu-ga's socket activation support was not obeying the LISTEN_PID
environment variable, which avoids that a process uses a socket-activation
file descriptor meant for its parent.
Mess can for example ensue if a process forks a children before consuming
the socket-activation file descriptor and therefore setting O_CLOEXEC
on it.
Luckily, qemu-nbd also got socket activation code, and its copy does
support LISTEN_PID. Some extra fixups are needed to ensure that the
code can be used for both, but that's what this patch does. The
main change is to replace get_listen_fds's "consume" argument with
the FIRST_SOCKET_ACTIVATION_FD macro from the qemu-nbd code.

We traditionally mark optional members #optional in the doc comment.
Before commit 3313b61, this was entirely manual.
Commit 3313b61 added some automation because its qapi2texi.py relied
on #optional to determine whether a member is optional. This is no
longer the case since the previous commit: the only thing qapi2texi.py
still does with #optional is stripping it out. We still reject bogus
qapi-schema.json and six places for qga/qapi-schema.json.
Thus, you can't actually rely on #optional to see whether something is
optional. Yet we still make people add it manually. That's just
busy-work.
Drop the code to check, fix up and strip out #optional, along with all
instances of #optional. To keep it out, add code to reject it, to be
dropped again once the dust settles.

Since we added the documentation generator in commit 3313b61, doc
comments are mandatory. That's a very good idea for a schema that
needs to be documented, but has proven to be annoying for testing.
Make doc comments optional again, but add a new directive
{ 'pragma': { 'doc-required': true } }
to let a QAPI schema require them.
Add test cases for the new pragma directive. While there, plug a
minor hole in includ directive test coverage.
Require documentation in the schemas we actually want documented:
qapi-schema.json and qga/qapi-schema.json.
We could probably make qapi2texi.py cope with incomplete
documentation, but for now, simply make it refuse to run unless the
schema has 'doc-required': true.

AF_UNIX and AF_VSOCK listen sockets can be passed in by systemd on
startup. This allows systemd to manage the listen socket until the
first client connects and between restarts. Advantages of socket
activation are that parallel startup of network services becomes
possible and that unused daemons do not consume memory.
The key to achieving this is the LISTEN_FDS environment variable, which
is a stable ABI as shown here:
https://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/systemd/InterfacePortabilityAndStabilityChart/
We could link against libsystemd and use sd_listen_fds(3) but it's easy
to implement the tiny LISTEN_FDS ABI so that qemu-ga does not depend on
libsystemd. Some systems may not have systemd installed and wish to
avoid the dependency. Other init systems or socket activation servers
may implement the same ABI without systemd involvement.
Test as follows:

The way we get QMP commands registered is high tech:
* qapi-commands.py generates qmp_init_marshal() that does the actual work
* it also generates the magic to register it as a MODULE_INIT_QAPI
function, so it runs when someone calls
module_call_init(MODULE_INIT_QAPI)
* main() calls module_call_init()
QEMU needs to register a few non-qapified commands. Same high tech
works: monitor.c has its own qmp_init_marshal() along with the magic
to make it run in module_call_init(MODULE_INIT_QAPI).
QEMU also needs to unregister commands that are not wanted in this
build's configuration (commit 5032a16). Simple enough:
qmp_unregister_commands_hack(). The difficulty is to make it run
after the generated qmp_init_marshal(). We can't simply run it in
monitor.c's qmp_init_marshal(), because the order in which the
registered functions run is indeterminate. So qmp_init_marshal()
registers qmp_unregister_commands_hack() separately. Since
registering *appends* to the list of registered functions, this will
make it run after all the functions that have been registered already.
I suspect it takes a long and expensive computer science education to
not find this silly.
Dumb it down as follows:
* Drop MODULE_INIT_QAPI entirely
* Give the generated qmp_init_marshal() external linkage.
* Call it instead of module_call_init(MODULE_INIT_QAPI)
* Except in QEMU proper, call new monitor_init_qmp_commands() that in
turn calls the generated qmp_init_marshal(), registers the
additional commands and unregisters the unwanted ones.

The quiet-command make rule currently takes two arguments:
the command and arguments to run, and a string to print if
the V flag is not set (ie we are not being verbose).
By convention, the string printed is of the form
" NAME some args". Unfortunately to get nicely lined up
output all the strings have to agree about what column the
arguments should start in, which means that if we add a
new quiet-command usage which wants a slightly longer CMD
name then we either put up with misalignment or change
every quiet-command string.
Split the quiet-mode string into two, the "NAME" and
the "same args" part, and use printf(1) to format the
string automatically. This means we only need to change
one place if we want to support a longer maximum name.
In particular, we can now print 7-character names lined
up properly (they are needed for the OSX "SETTOOL" invocation).
Change all the uses of quiet-command to the new syntax.
(Any which are missed or inadvertently reintroduced
via later merges will result in slightly misformatted
quiet output rather than disaster.)
A few places in the pc-bios/ makefiles are updated to use
"BUILD", "SIGN" and "STRIP" rather than "Building",
"Signing" and "Stripping" for consistency and to keep them
below 7 characters. Module .mo links now print "LD" rather
than the nonstandard "LD -r".

mingw-glib uses helper process to assist gspawn() api. There are two
versions of helpers, one with main() and another with WinMain() startup
routines.
Whenever gspawn() detects consoleless environment (and qemu-ga is running
in such environment as Win32 service), it chooses helper with main()
instead of WinMain. It is done by name, e.g.
gspawn-win32-helper-console.exe vs gspawn-win32-helper.exe
Running console-aware application like any win32 console apps from main()
crt initalized process results in redirection of stdout to console created
in crt startup instead of parent-provided handle connected to subprocess
pipe. Thus, stdout/stderr redirection do not work correctly.
The patch makes WinMain()'s version of helper be used as the only helper
shipped with qemu-ga package. Using only win32 helper ensures console
is created before any redirection and fixes stdout/stderr redirection
issue.

Commit 57cb38b included qapi/error.h into qemu/osdep.h to get the
Error typedef. Since then, we've moved to include qemu/osdep.h
everywhere. Its file comment explains: "To avoid getting into
possible circular include dependencies, this file should not include
any other QEMU headers, with the exceptions of config-host.h,
compiler.h, os-posix.h and os-win32.h, all of which are doing a
similar job to this file and are under similar constraints."
qapi/error.h doesn't do a similar job, and it doesn't adhere to
similar constraints: it includes qapi-types.h. That's in excess of
100KiB of crap most .c files don't actually need.
Add the typedef to qemu/typedefs.h, and include that instead of
qapi/error.h. Include qapi/error.h in .c files that need it and don't
get it now. Include qapi-types.h in qom/object.h for uint16List.
Update scripts/clean-includes accordingly. Update it further to match
reality: replace config.h by config-target.h, add sysemu/os-posix.h,
sysemu/os-win32.h. Update the list of includes in the qemu/osdep.h
comment quoted above similarly.
This reduces the number of objects depending on qapi/error.h from "all
of them" to less than a third. Unfortunately, the number depending on
qapi-types.h shrinks only a little. More work is needed for that one.

Exposing OS-specific SEEK_ constants in our qapi was a mistake
(if the host has SEEK_CUR as 1, but the guest has it as 2, then
the semantics are unclear what should happen); if we had a time
machine, we would instead expose only a symbolic enum. It's too
late to change the fact that we have an integer in qapi, but we
can at least document what mapping we want to enforce for all
qga clients (and luckily, it happens to be the mapping that both
Linux and Windows use); then fix the code to match that mapping.
It also helps us filter out unsupported SEEK_DATA and SEEK_HOLE.
In the future, we may wish to move our QGA_SEEK_* constants into
qga/qapi-schema.json, along with updating the schema to take an
alternate type (either the integer, or the string value of the
enum name) - but that's too much risk during hard freeze.

"the application shall ensure that output is not directly followed by
input without an intervening call to fflush() or to a file positioning
function (fseek(), fsetpos(), or rewind()), and input is not directly
followed by output without an intervening call to a file positioning

Without this change, an fwrite() followed by an fread() may lose the

g_new(T, n) is neater than g_malloc(sizeof(T) * n). It's also safer,
for two reasons. One, it catches multiplication overflowing size_t.
Two, it returns T * rather than void *, which lets the compiler catch
more type errors.
This commit only touches allocations with size arguments of the form
sizeof(T). Same Coccinelle semantic patch as in commit b45c03f.

This is particularly useful when we abort in error_propagate(),
because there the stack backtrace doesn't lead to where the error was
created. Looks like this:
Unexpected error in parse_block_error_action() at .../qemu/blockdev.c:322:
qemu-system-x86_64: -drive if=none,werror=foo: 'foo' invalid write error action
Aborted (core dumped)
Note: to get this example output, I monkey-patched drive_new() to pass
&error_abort to blockdev_init().
To keep the error handling boiler plate from growing even more, all
error_setFOO() become macros expanding into error_setFOO_internal()
with additional __FILE__, __LINE__, __func__ arguments. Not exactly
pretty, but it works.
The macro trickery breaks down when you take the address of an
error_setFOO(). Fortunately, we do that in just one place: qemu-ga's
Windows VSS provider and requester DLL wants to call
error_setg_win32() through a function pointer "to avoid linking glib
to the DLL". Use error_setg_win32_internal() there. The use of the
function pointer is already wrapped in a macro, so the churn isn't
bad.
Code size increases by some 35KiB for me (0.7%). Tolerable. Could be
less if we passed relative rather than absolute source file names to
the compiler, or forwent reporting __func__.

requester.cpp uses this pattern to receive an error and pass it on to
the caller (err_is_set() macro peeled off for clarity):
... code that may set errset->errp ...
if (errset->errp && *errset->errp) {
... handle error ...
}
This breaks when errset->errp is null. As far as I can tell, it
currently isn't, so this is merely fragile, not actually broken.
The robust way to do this is to receive the error in a local variable,
then propagate it up, like this:
Error *err = NULL;
... code that may set err ...
if (err)
... handle error ...
error_propagate(errset->errp, err);
}

qga_vss_fsfreeze() casts error_set_win32() from
void (*)(Error **, int, ErrorClass, const char *, ...)
to
void (*)(void **, int, int, const char *, ...)
The result is later called. Since the two types are not compatible,
the call is undefined behavior. It works in practice anyway.
However, there's no real need for trickery here. Clean it up as
follows:
* Declare struct Error, and fix the first parameter.
* Switch to error_setg_win32(). This gets rid of the troublesome
ErrorClass parameter. Requires converting error_setg_win32() from
macro to function, but that's trivially easy, because this is the

This behavior caused the service to be registered only after the INITIAL installation, and any subsequent run of the .msi (to redo, repair, or upgrade the installation) ended in the service being unregistered.
Now, the VSS service is still unregistered if QEMU GA is already installed (so that a fix or an update could be performed) but then it is registered again (if the GA is not being uninstalled) thus finishing the repair/upgrade correctly. PCIAddress inforfation is obtained via SetupApi, which provides the
information about address, bus, etc. We look throught entire device tree
in the system and try to find device object for given volume. For this PDO
SetupDiGetDeviceRegistryProperty is called, which reads PCI configuration
for a given devicei if it is possible.
This is the most convinient way for a userspace service. The lookup is
performed for every volume available. However, this information is
not mandatory for vss-provider.
In order to use SetupApi we need to notify linker about it. We do not need
to install additional libs, so we do not make separate configuration
option to use libsetupapi.su
SetupApi gives as the same information as kernel driver
with IRP_MN_QUERY_INTERFACE.

We should use GetVolumeXXX api to work with volumes. This will help us to
resolve the situation with volumes without drive letter, i.e. when the
volume is mounted as a folder. Such volume is called mounted folder.
This volume is a regular mounted volume from all other points of view.
The information about non mounted volume is reported as System Reserved.
This volume is not mounted and thus it is not writable.
GuestDiskAddressList API is not used because operations are performed with
volumes but no with disks. This means that spanned disk will
be counted and handled as a single volume. It is worth mentioning
that the information about every disk in the volume can be queried
via IOCTL_VOLUME_GET_VOLUME_DISK_EXTENTS.

to those returned by GetAdaptersInfo. IPv6 prefixes can not be

In Windows Vista/2008 guests and newer, both IPv4 and IPv6 prefixes
can be retrieved from OnLinkPrefixLength. Setting --extra-cflags

The current guest-fstrim support only returns an error if some
mountpoint was unable to be trimmed, skipping any possible additional
mountpoints. The result of the TRIM operation itself is also discarded.
This change returns a per mountpoint result of the TRIM operation. If an
error occurs on some mountpoints that error is returned and the
guest-fstrim continue with any additional mountpoints.
The returned values for errors, minimum and trimmed are dependant on the

The FITRIM ioctl updates the fstrim_range structure it receives. This
way the caller can determine how many bytes were trimmed. The
guest-fstrim logic reuses the same fstrim_range for each filesystem,
effectively limiting each filesystem to trim at most as much as the
previous was able to trim.
If a previous filesystem would have trimmed 0 bytes, than the next
filesystem would report an error 'Invalid argument' because a FITRIM
request with length 0 is not valid.
This change resets the fstrim_range structure for each filesystem.

Referring to "type" as both a meta-type (built-in, enum, union,
alternate, or struct) and a specific type (the name that the
schema uses for declaring structs) is confusing. Do the bulk of
the conversion to "struct" in qapi schema, with a fairly
mechanical:
for f in `find -name '*.json'; do sed -i "s/'type'/'struct'/"; done
followed by manually filtering out the places where we have a
'type' embedded in 'data'. Then tweak a couple of tests whose
output changes slightly due to longer lines.
I also verified that the generated files for QMP and QGA (such
as qmp-commands.h) are the same before and after, as assurance
that I didn't leave in any accidental member name changes.

For a few QMP commands, we are forced to pass an arbitrary type
without tracking it properly in QAPI. Among the existing clients,
this unnamed type was spelled 'dict', 'visitor', and '**'; this
patch standardizes on '**', matching the documentation changes
earlier in the series.
Meanwhile, for the 'gen' key, we have been ignoring the value,
although the schema consistently used "'no'" ('success-response'
was hard-coded to checking for 'no'). But now that we can support
a literal "false" in the schema, we might as well use that rather
than ignoring the value or special-casing a random string. Note
that these are one-way switches (use of 'gen':true is not the same
as omitting 'gen'). Also, the use of '**' requires 'gen':false,
but the use of 'gen':false does not mandate the use of '**'.
There is no difference to the generated code. Add some tests on
what we'd like to guarantee, although it will take later patches
to clean up test results and actually enforce the use of a bool
parameter.

Add a new 'guest-set-user-password' command for changing the password
of guest OS user accounts. This command is needed to enable OpenStack
to support its API for changing the admin password of guests running
on KVM/QEMU. It is not practical to provide a command at the QEMU
level explicitly targetting administrator account password change
only, since different guest OS have different names for the admin
account. While UNIX systems use 'root', Windows systems typically
use 'Administrator' and even that can be renamed. Higher level apps
like OpenStack have the ability to figure out the correct admin
account name since they have info that QEMU/libvirt do not.
The command accepts either the clear text password string, encoded
in base64 to make it 8-bit safe in JSON:
$ echo -n "123456" | base64
MTIzNDU2
$ virsh -c qemu:///system qemu-agent-command f21x86_64 \
'{ "execute": "guest-set-user-password",
"arguments": { "crypted": false,
"username": "root",
"password": "MTIzNDU2" } }'
{"return":{}}
Or a password that has already been run though a crypt(3) like
algorithm appropriate for the guest, again then base64 encoded:
$ echo -n '$6$n01A2Tau$e...snip...DfMOP7of9AJ1I8q0' | base64
JDYkb...snip...YT2Ey
$ virsh -c qemu:///system qemu-agent-command f21x86_64 \

This patch adds a check into CQGAVssProvider::IsVolumeSupported() to reject
the request from other VSS requesters, so that the other provider is chosen.
The check of requester is done by confirming event channels between
qemu-ga's requester and provider established. To ensure that the events are
initialized when CQGAVssProvider::IsVolumeSupported() is called, it moves
the initialization earlier.

Adds VSS provider and requester as a qga-vss.dll, which is loaded by
Windows VSS service as well as by qemu-ga.
"provider.cpp" implements a basic stub of a software VSS provider.
Currently, this module only relays a frozen event from VSS service to the
agent, and thaw event from the agent to VSS service, to block VSS process
to keep the system frozen while snapshots are taken at the host.
To register the provider to the guest system as COM+ application, the type
library (.tlb) for qga-vss.dll is required. To build it from COM IDL (.idl),
VisualC++, MIDL and stdole2.tlb in Windows SDK are required. This patch also
adds pre-compiled .tlb file in the repository in order to enable
cross-compile qemu-ga.exe for Windows with VSS support.
"requester.cpp" provides the VSS requester to kick the VSS snapshot process.
Qemu-ga.exe works without the DLL, although fsfreeze features are disabled.
These functions are only supported in Windows 2003 or later. In older
systems, fsfreeze features are disabled.
In several versions of Windows which don't support attribute
VSS_VOLSNAP_ATTR_NO_AUTORECOVERY, DoSnapshotSet fails with error
VSS_E_OBJECT_NOT_FOUND. In this patch, we just ignore this error.
To solve this fundamentally, we need a framework to handle mount writable
snapshot on guests, which is required by VSS auto-recovery feature
(cleanup phase after a snapshot is taken).

Hosts hold on to handles provided by guest-file-open for periods that can
span beyond the life of the qemu-ga process that issued them. Since these
are issued starting from 0 on every restart, we run the risk of issuing
duplicate handles after restarts/reboots.
As a result, users with a stale copy of these handles may end up
reading/writing corrupted data due to their existing handles effectively
being re-assigned to an unexpected file or offset.
We unfortunately do not issue handles as strings, but as integers, so a
solution such as using UUIDs can't be implemented without introducing a
new interface.
As a workaround, we fix this by implementing a persistent key-value store
that will be used to track the value of the last handle that was issued
across restarts/reboots to avoid issuing duplicates.
The store is automatically written to the same directory we currently
set via --statedir to track fsfreeze state, and so should be applicable
for stable releases where this flag is supported.
A follow-up can use this same store for handling fsfreeze state, but
that change is cosmetic and left out for now.

which will be expanded to "qga/../qapi-generated/qga-qapi-types.o" when
building qemu-ga.
In top-level Makefile, we defined a target "qapi-generated/qga-qapi-types.o"
which was not equal to "qga/../qapi-generated/qga-qapi-types" in the
Makefile world. So "No such file" error happened when qemu-ga was linking.
The easy approach to fix is to change the target name to
"qga/../qapi-generated/qga-qapi-types.o", but it is weird.
So, in order to solve it more graciously, I move those temporary

this makes dependencies more clearer.

POSIX mandates[1] that a child process of a multi-thread program uses
only async-signal-safe functions before exec(). We consider qemu-ga
to be multi-thread, because it uses glib.
However, qmp_guest_shutdown() uses functions that are not
async-signal-safe. Fix it the following way:
- fclose() -> reopen_fd_to_null()
- execl() -> execle()
- exit() -> _exit()

Last commit dropped qemu-ga's SIGCHLD handler, used to automatically
reap terminated children processes. This introduced a bug to
qmp_guest_shutdown(): it will generate zombies.
This problem probably doesn't matter in the success case, as the VM
will shutdown anyway, but let's do the right thing and reap the
created process. This ultimately means that guest-shutdown is now a
synchronous command.
An interesting side effect is that guest-shutdown is now able to
report an error to the client if shutting down fails.

Currently, qemu-ga has a SIGCHLD handler that automatically reaps terminated
children processes. The idea is to avoid having qemu-ga commands blocked
waiting for children to terminate.
That approach has two problems:
1. qemu-ga is unable to detect errors in the child, meaning that qemu-ga
returns success even if the child fails to perform its task
2. if a command does depend on the child exit status, the command has to
play tricks to bypass the automatic reaper
Case 2 impacts the guest-suspend-* API, because it has to execute an external
program to check for suspend support. Today, to bypass the automatic reaper,
suspend code has to double fork and pass exit status information through a
pipe. Besides being complex, this is prone to race condition bugs. Indeed,
the current code does have such bugs.
Making the guest-suspend-* API synchronous (ie. by dropping the SIGCHLD
handler and calling waitpid() from commands) is a much simpler approach,
which fixes current race conditions bugs and enables commands to detect
errors in the child.
This commit does just that. There's a side effect though, guest-shutdown
will generate zombies if shutting down fails. This will be fixed by the
next commit.

guest-fsfreeze-thaw relies on state information obtained from
guest-fsfreeze-freeze to determine what filesystems to unfreeze.
This is unreliable due to the fact that that state does not account
for FIFREEZE being issued by other processes, or previous instances
of qemu-ga. This means in certain situations we cannot thaw
filesystems even with a responsive qemu-ga instance at our disposal.
This patch allows guest-fsfreeze-thaw to be issued unconditionally.
It also adds some additional logic to allow us to thaw filesystems
regardless of how many times the filesystem's "frozen" refcount has
been incremented by any guest processes.
Also, guest-fsfreeze-freeze now operates atomically: on success all
freezable filesystems are frozen, and on error all filesystems are
thawed. The ambiguous "GUEST_FSFREEZE_STATUS_ERROR" state is no
longer entered.

guest-sync leaves it as an exercise to the user as to how to reliably
obtain the response to guest-sync if the client had previously read in a
partial response (due qemu-ga previously being restarted mid-"sentence"
due to reboot, forced restart, etc).
qemu-ga handles this situation on its end by having a client precede
their guest-sync request with a 0xFF byte (invalid UTF-8), which
qemu-ga/QEMU JSON parsers will treat as a flush event. Thus we can
reliably flush the qemu-ga parser state in preparation for receiving
the guest-sync request.
guest-sync-delimited provides the same functionality for a client: when
a guest-sync-delimited is issued, qemu-ga will precede it's response
with a 0xFF byte that the client can use as an indicator to flush its
buffer/parser state in preparation for reliably receiving the
guest-sync-delimited response.
It is also useful as an optimization for clients, since, after issuing a
guest-sync-delimited, clients can safely discard all stale data read
from the channel until the 0xFF is found.

Implement guest-suspend-disk RPC for Windows. Functionally this should be
equivalent to the posix implementation.
Signed-off-by: Gal Hammer <ghammer@redhat.com>
As the command name implies, this command suspends the guest to disk.
The suspend operation is implemented by two functions: bios_supports_mode()
and guest_suspend(). Both functions are generic enough to be used by
other suspend modes (introduced by next commits).
Both functions will try to use the scripts provided by the pm-utils
package if it's available. If it's not available, a manual method,
which consists of directly writing to '/sys/power/state', will be used.
To reap terminated children, a new signal handler is installed in the
parent to catch SIGCHLD signals and a non-blocking call to waitpid()
is done to collect their exit statuses. The statuses, however, are
discarded.
The approach used to query the guest for suspend support deserves some
explanation. It's implemented by bios_supports_mode() and shown below:
qemu-ga
|
create pipe
|
fork()
-----------------
| |
| |
| fork()
| --------------------------
| | |
| | |
| | exec('pm-is-supported')
| |
| wait()
| write exit status to pipe
| exit
|
read pipe
This might look complex, but the resulting code is quite simple.
The purpose of that approach is to allow qemu-ga to reap its children
(semi-)automatically from its SIGCHLD handler.
Implementing this the obvious way, that's, doing the exec() call from
the first child process, would force us to introduce a more complex way
to reap qemu-ga's children. Like registering PIDs to be reaped and
having a way to wait for them when returning their exit status to
qemu-ga is necessary. The approach explained above avoids that complexity.

Original patch by Gal Hammer <ghammer@redhat.com>
This adds a win32 channel implementation that makes qemu-ga functional
on Windows using virtio-serial (unix-listen/isa-serial not currently
implemented). Unlike with the posix implementation, we do not use
GIOChannel for the following reasons:
- glib calls stat() on an fd to check whether S_IFCHR is set, which is
the case for virtio-serial on win32. Because of that, a one-time
check to determine whether the channel is readable is done by making
a call to PeekConsoleInput(), which reports the underlying handle is
not a valid console handle, and thus we can never read from the
channel.
- if one goes as far as to "trick" glib into thinking it is a normal
file descripter, the buffering is done in such a way that data
written to the output stream will subsequently result in that same
data being read back as if it were input, causing an error loop.
furthermore, a forced flush of the channel only moves the data into a
secondary buffer managed by glib, so there's no way to prevent output
from getting read back as input.
The implementation here ties into the glib main loop by implementing a
custom GSource that continually submits asynchronous/overlapped I/O to
fill an GAChannel-managed read buffer, and tells glib to poll the
corresponding event handle for a completion whenever there is no
data/RPC in the read buffer to notify the main application about.
Various stubs and #ifdefs to compile for Windows using mingw
cross-build. Still has 1 linker error due to a dependency on the
forthcoming win32 versions of the GAChannel/transport class.
Many of the current RPC implementations are very much POSIX-specific
and require complete re-writes for Windows. There are however a small
set of core guest agent commands that are common to both, and other
commands such as guest-file-* which *may* be portable. So we introduce
commands.c for the latter, and will rename guest-agent-commands.c to
commands-posix.c in a future commit. Windows implementations will go in
commands-win32.c, eventually.
This is mostly in preparation for the win32 port, which won't use
GIO channels for reasons that will be made clearer later. Here the
GAChannel class is just a loose wrapper around GIOChannel
calls/callbacks, but we also roll in the logic/configuration for
various channel types and managing unix socket connections, which makes
the abstraction much more complete and further aids in the win32 port
since isa-serial/unix-listen will not be supported initially.
There's also a bit of refactoring in the main logic to consolidate the
exit paths so we can do common cleanup for things like pid files, which
weren't always cleaned up previously.
Not that there is blacklisting functionality we can no longer infer
the agent's capabilities via version. This patch extends the current
guest-info RPC to also return a list of dictionaries containing the name
of each supported RPC, along with a boolean indicating whether or not
the command has been disabled by a guest administrator/distro.
