4fc30e153a ppc4xx_sdram: QOM'ify
Change the ppc4xx_sdram model to a QOM class derived from the
PPC4xx-dcr-device and name it ppc4xx-sdram-ddr. This is mostly
modelling the DDR SDRAM controller found in the 440EP (used on the
bamboo board) but also backward compatible with the older DDR
controllers on some 405 SoCs so we also use it for those now. This
likely does not cause problems for guests we run as the new features
are just not accessed but to model 405 SoC accurately some features
may have to be disabled or the model split between 440 and older.

Newer SoCs (regardless of their PPC core, e.g. 405EX) may have an
updated DDR2 SDRAM controller implemented by the ppc440_sdram model
(only partially, enough for the 460EX on the sam460ex) that is not yet
QOM'ified in this patch. That is intended to become ppc4xx-sdram-ddr2
when QOM'ified later.

629cae6170 ppc/ppc4xx: Introduce a DCR device model
The Device Control Registers (DCR) of on-SoC devices are accessed by
software through the use of the mtdcr and mfdcr instructions. These
are converted in transactions on a side band bus, the DCR bus, which
connects the on-SoC devices to the CPU.

Ideally, we should model these accesses with a DCR namespace and DCR
memory regions but today the DCR handlers are installed in a DCR table
under the CPU. Instead, introduce a little device model wrapper to hold
a CPU link and handle registration of DCR handlers.

The DCR device inherits from SysBus because most of these devices also
have MMIO regions and/or IRQs. Being a SysBusDevice makes things easier
to install the device model in the overall SoC.

b21e238037 Use g_new() & friends where that makes obvious sense
g_new(T, n) is neater than g_malloc(sizeof(T) * n). It's also safer,
for two reasons. One, it catches multiplication overflowing size_t.
Two, it returns T * rather than void *, which lets the compiler catch
more type errors.

This commit only touches allocations with size arguments of the form
sizeof(T).

Patch created mechanically with:

    $ spatch --in-place --sp-file scripts/coccinelle/use-g_new-etc.cocci \

Currently the PPC UIC ("Universal Interrupt Controller") is implemented

This conversion adds VMState support.

It leaves the LOG_UIC() macro as-is to maximise the extent to which
this is simply code-movement rather than a rewrite (in new code it
would be better to use tracepoints).

64552b6be4 Include hw/irq.h a lot less
In my "build everything" tree, changing hw/irq.h triggers a recompile
of some 5400 out of 6600 objects (not counting tests and objects that
don't depend on qemu/osdep.h).

hw/hw.h supposedly includes it for convenience. Several other headers
include it just to get qemu_irq and.or qemu_irq_handler.

Move the qemu_irq and qemu_irq_handler typedefs from hw/irq.h to
qemu/typedefs.h, and then include hw/irq.h only where it's still
needed. Touching it now recompiles only some 500 objects.

70812bf709 ppc4xx: Pass array index to function instead of pointer into the array
The sdram_set_bcr() function in ppc440_uc.c takes a pointer into an
array then calculates its index from that. It's simpler and easier to
just pass the index which simplifies both the function and its callers.
Do similar cleanup in ppc4xx_devs.c to similar function.

4482e05cbb cpu: make cpu_generic_init() abort QEMU on error
Almost every user of cpu_generic_init() checks for
returned NULL and then reports failure in a custom way
and aborts process.
Some users assume that call can't fail and don't check
for failure, though they should have checked for it.

In either cases cpu_generic_init() failure is fatal,
so instead of checking for failure and reporting
it various ways, make cpu_generic_init() report
errors in consistent way and terminate QEMU on failure.

e206ad4833 ppc: fix -mem-path failure
commit e938ba0c tried to enable -mem-path for ppc but breaked some ppc
boards.

The problems are:

1. it fails when allocating memory for rom, sram whose sizes are less
   than huge page size:

   ./ppc-softmmu/qemu-system-ppc -m 512 -mem-path /hugepages/ \
   -kernel /home/hutao/Downloads/vmlinux-ppc -initrd \
   /home/hutao/Downloads/initrd-ppc.gz
   qemu-system-ppc: /mnt/data/projects/qemu/exec.c:1184: qemu_ram_set_idstr: Assertion `new_block' failed.

2. if there is a numa node backed by memory backend object, qemu fails
   with message:

   ./ppc-softmmu/qemu-system-ppc -m 512 \
   -object memory-backend-file,size=512M,mem-path=/hugepages,id=f0 \
   -numa node,nodeid=0,memdev=f0 \
   -kernel /home/hutao/Downloads/vmlinux-ppc \
   -initrd /home/hutao/Downloads/initrd-ppc.gz
qemu-system-ppc: memory backend f0 is used multiple times. Each -numa option must use a different memdev value.

This patch does following:

1. replaces memory_region_allocate_system_memory() with
memory_region_init_ram() for rom, sram. Then only system memory
is backed by hugepages when specifying mem-path.

2. for memory banks, allocates all ram with
   one memory_region_allocate_system_memory(), and use
   memory_region_init_alias() to initialize memory banks.

Tested machines: default(g3beige), mac99, taihu, bamboo, ref405ep.

e938ba0c35 ppc: memory: Replace memory_region_init_ram with memory_region_allocate_system_memory
Commit 0b183fc871:"memory: move mem_path handling to
memory_region_allocate_system_memory" split memory_region_init_ram and
memory_region_init_ram_from_file. Also it moved mem-path handling a step
up from memory_region_init_ram to memory_region_allocate_system_memory.

Therefore for any board that uses memory_region_init_ram directly,
-mem-path is not supported.

Fix this by replacing memory_region_init_ram with
memory_region_allocate_system_memory.
