345f42b4be xen-bus / xen-block: add support for event channel polling
This patch introduces a poll callback for event channel fd-s and uses
this to invoke the channel callback function.

To properly support polling, it is necessary for the event channel callback
function to return a boolean saying whether it has done any useful work or
not. Thus xen_block_dataplane_event() is modified to directly invoke
xen_block_handle_requests() and the latter only returns true if it actually
processes any requests. This also means that the call to qemu_bh_schedule()
is moved into xen_block_complete_aio(), which is more intuitive since the
only reason for doing a deferred poll of the shared ring should be because
there were previously insufficient resources to fully complete a previous
poll.

c0b336ea19 xen-bus: use a separate fd for each event channel
To better support use of IOThread-s it will be necessary to be able to set
the AioContext for each XenEventChannel and hence it is necessary to open a
separate handle to libxenevtchan for each channel.

This patch stops using NotifierList for event channel callbacks, replacing
that construct by a list of complete XenEventChannel structures. Each of
these now has a xenevtchn_handle pointer in place of the single pointer
previously held in the XenDevice structure. The individual handles are
opened/closed in xen_device_bind/unbind_event_channel(), replacing the
single open/close in xen_device_realize/unrealize().

NOTE: This patch does not add an AioContext parameter to
      xen_device_bind_event_channel(). That will be done in a subsequent
      patch.

500016e5db trace-events: Shorten file names in comments
We spell out sub/dir/ in sub/dir/trace-events' comments pointing to
source files.  That's because when trace-events got split up, the
comments were moved verbatim.

Delete the sub/dir/ part from these comments.  Gets rid of several
misspellings.

67bc8e00f7 xen: fix xen-bus state model to allow frontend re-connection
There is a flaw in the xen-bus state model. To allow a frontend to re-
connect the backend state of an online XenDevice is transitioned from
Closed to InitWait, but this is currently done unilaterally which is
incorrect. The backend state should remain Closed until the frontend state
transitions to Initialising.

This patch removes the automatic backend state transition from
xen_device_backend_state_changed() and, instead, adds an extra check in
xen_device_frontend_state_changed() to determine whether a frontend is
trying to re-connect to a previously Closed XenDevice. Only if this is
found to be the case is the backend state transitioned from Closed to
InitWait. Note that this transition will be common amongst all XenDevice
classes and hence xen_device_frontend_state_changed() returns immediately
afterwards without calling into the XenDeviceClass frontend_changed()
method.

db9ff46eeb xen: automatically create XenBlockDevice-s
This patch adds create and destroy function for XenBlockDevice-s so that
they can be created automatically when the Xen toolstack instantiates a new
PV backend via xenstore. When the XenBlockDevice is created this way it is
also necessary to create a 'drive' which matches the configuration that the
Xen toolstack has written into xenstore. This is done by formulating the
parameters necessary for each 'blockdev' layer of the drive and then using
qmp_blockdev_add() to create the layers. Also, for compatibility with the
legacy 'xen_disk' implementation, an iothread is automatically created for
the new XenBlockDevice. This, like the driver layers, will be destroyed
after the XenBlockDevice is unrealized.

The legacy backend scan for 'qdisk' is removed by this patch, which makes
the 'xen_disk' code is redundant. The code will be removed by a subsequent
patch.

a783f8ad4e xen: add a mechanism to automatically create XenDevice-s...
...that maintains compatibility with existing Xen toolstacks.

Xen toolstacks instantiate PV backends by simply writing information into
xenstore and expecting a backend implementation to be watching for this.

This patch adds a new 'xen-backend' module to allow individual XenDevice
implementations to register create and destroy functions. The creator
will be called when a tool-stack instantiates a new backend in this way,
and the destructor will then be called after the resulting XenDevice
object is unrealized.

To support this it is also necessary to add new watchers into the XenBus
implementation to handle enumeration of new backends and also destruction
of XenDevice-s when the toolstack sets the backend 'online' key to 0.

NOTE: This patch only adds the framework. A subsequent patch will add a
      creator function for xen-block devices.

...and wire in the dataplane.

This patch adds the remaining code to make the xen-block XenDevice
functional. The parameters that a block frontend expects to find are
populated in the backend xenstore area, and the 'ring-ref' and
'event-channel' values specified in the frontend xenstore area are
mapped/bound and used to set up the dataplane.

the type xenevtchn_port_or_error_t, but this isn't avaiable before Xen
4.7. Also the function xen_device_bind_event_channel assign the return
value of xenevtchn_bind_interdomain to channel->local_port but check the
result for error with xendev->local_port.

Fix by:
- removing local_port from struct XenDevice as it isn't use anywere.
- adding a compatibility typedef for xenevtchn_port_or_error_t for Xen
  4.6 and earlier.

As extra, replace the type of XenEventChannel->local_port by
evtchn_port_t.

82a29e3048 xen: add xenstore watcher infrastructure
A Xen PV frontend communicates its state to the PV backend by writing to
the 'state' key in the frontend area in xenstore. It is therefore
necessary for a XenDevice implementation to be notified whenever the
value of this key changes.

This patch adds code to do this as follows:

- an 'fd handler' is registered on the libxenstore handle which will be
  triggered whenever a 'watch' event occurs
- primitives are added to xen-bus-helper to add or remove watch events
- a list of Notifier objects is added to XenBus to provide a mechanism
  to call the appropriate 'watch handler' when its associated event
  occurs

The xen-block implementation is extended with a 'frontend_changed' method,
which calls as-yet stub 'connect' and 'disconnect' functions when the
relevant frontend state transitions occur. A subsequent patch will supply
a full implementation for these functions.

094a22399f xen: create xenstore areas for XenDevice-s
This patch adds a new source module, xen-bus-helper.c, which builds on
basic libxenstore primitives to provide functions to create (setting
permissions appropriately) and destroy xenstore areas, and functions to
'printf' and 'scanf' nodes therein. The main xen-bus code then uses
these primitives [1] to initialize and destroy the frontend and backend
areas for a XenDevice during realize and unrealize respectively.

The 'xen-block' implementation is extended with a 'get_name' method that
returns the VBD number. This number is required to 'name' the xenstore
areas.

NOTE: An exit handler is also added to make sure the xenstore areas are
      cleaned up if QEMU terminates without devices being unrealized.

[1] The 'scanf' functions are actually not yet needed, but they will be
    needed by code delivered in subsequent patches.

108f7bba15 xen: introduce new 'XenBus' and 'XenDevice' object hierarchy
This patch adds the basic boilerplate for a 'XenBus' object that will act
as a parent to 'XenDevice' PV backends.
A new 'XenBridge' object is also added to connect XenBus to the system bus.

The XenBus object is instantiated by a new xen_bus_init() function called
from the same sites as the legacy xen_be_init() function.

Subsequent patches will flesh-out the functionality of these objects.

2d0ed5e642 xen: re-name XenDevice to XenLegacyDevice...
...and xen_backend.h to xen-legacy-backend.h

Rather than attempting to convert the existing backend infrastructure to
be QOM compliant (which would be hard to do in an incremental fashion),
subsequent patches will introduce a completely new framework for Xen PV
backends. Hence it is necessary to re-name parts of existing code to avoid
name clashes. The re-named 'legacy' infrastructure will be removed once all
backends have been ported to the new framework.

This patch is purely cosmetic. No functional change.

92dbfcc6d4 xen/pt: allow passthrough of devices with bogus interrupt pin
For some pci device, even its PCI_INTERRUPT_PIN is not 0, it actually
doesn't support INTx mode, so its machine irq read from host sysfs is 0.
In that case, report PCI_INTERRUPT_PIN as 0 to guest and let passthrough
continue.

6c4f984463 hw/xen/xen_pt_graphics: Don't trust the BIOS ROM contents so much
Coverity (CID 796599) points out that xen_pt_setup_vga() trusts
the rom->size field in the BIOS ROM from a PCI passthrough VGA
device, and uses it as an index into the memory which contains
the BIOS image. A corrupt BIOS ROM could therefore cause us to
index off the end of the buffer.

Check that the size is within bounds before we use it.

We are also trusting the pcioffset field, and assuming that
the whole rom_header is present; Coverity doesn't notice these,
but check them too.

7d37435bd5 avoid TABs in files that only contain a few
Most files that have TABs only contain a handful of them.  Change
them to spaces so that we don't confuse people.

disas, standard-headers, linux-headers and libdecnumber are imported
from other projects and probably should be exempted from the check.
Outside those, after this patch the following files still contain both

b58deb344d qemu/queue.h: leave head structs anonymous unless necessary
Most list head structs need not be given a name.  In most cases the
name is given just in case one is going to use QTAILQ_LAST, QTAILQ_PREV
or reverse iteration, but this does not apply to lists of other kinds,
and even for QTAILQ in practice this is only rarely needed.  In addition,
we will soon reimplement those macros completely so that they do not
need a name for the head struct.  So clean up everything, not giving a
name except in the rare case where it is necessary.

fff4c9c325 xen/pt: Fix incomplete conversion to realize()
The conversion of "xen-pci-passthrough" to realize() (commit
5a11d0f754, v2.6.0) neglected to convert the xen_pt_config_init()
error path.  If xen_pt_config_init() fails, xen_pt_realize() reports
the error, then returns success without completing its job.  I don't
know the exact impact, but it can't be good.

Belatedly convert the error path.

6dad8260e8 xen: Don't use memory_region_init_ram_nomigrate() in pci_assign_dev_load_option_rom()
The xen pci_assign_dev_load_option_rom() currently creates a RAM
memory region with memory_region_init_ram_nomigrate(), and then
manually registers it with vmstate_register_ram(). In fact for
its only callsite, the 'owner' pointer we use for the init call
and the '&dev->qdev' pointer we use for the vmstate_register_ram()
call refer to the same object. Simplify the function to only
take a pointer to the device once instead of twice, and use
memory_region_init_ram() which automatically does the vmstate
register for us.

8372d38327 Make MemoryRegion valid.accepts callback take a MemTxAttrs argument
As part of plumbing MemTxAttrs down to the IOMMU translate method,
add MemTxAttrs as an argument to the MemoryRegion valid.accepts
callback. We'll need this for subpage_accepts().

We could take the approach we used with the read and write
callbacks and add new a new _with_attrs version, but since there
are so few implementations of the accepts hook we just change
them all.

E.g. where the OS is FreeBSD or Xen is older than 4.8.0.

This patch introduces an emulation of that operation using

84201604c7 xen/pt: use address_space_memory object for memory region hooks
Commit 99605175c (xen-pt: Fix PCI devices re-attach failed) introduced
a subtle bug. As soon as the guest switches off Bus Mastering on the
device it immediately causes all the BARs be unmapped due to the DMA
address space of the device being changed. This is undesired behavior
because the guest may try to communicate with the device after that
which triggers the following errors in the logs:

4564e63f80 xen: defer call to xen_restrict until just before os_setup_post
We need to restrict *all* the control fds that qemu opens.  Looking in
/proc/PID/fd shows there are many; their allocation seems scattered
throughout Xen support code in qemu.

We must postpone the restrict call until roughly the same time as qemu
changes its uid, chroots (if applicable), and so on.

There doesn't seem to be an appropriate hook already.  The RunState
change hook fires at different times depending on exactly what mode
qemu is operating in.

And it appears that no-one but the Xen code wants a hook at this phase
of execution.  So, introduce a bare call to a new function
xen_setup_post, just before os_setup_post.  Also provide the
appropriate stub for when Xen compilation is disabled.

We do the restriction before rather than after os_setup_post, because
xen_restrict may need to open /dev/null, and os_setup_post might have
called chroot.

Currently this does not work with migration, because when running as
the Xen device model qemu needs to signal to the toolstack that it is
ready.  It currently does this using xenstore, and for incoming
migration (but not for ordinary startup) that happens after
os_setup_post.

It is correct that this happens late: we want the incoming migration
stream to be processed by a restricted qemu.  The fix for this will be
to do the startup notification a different way, without using
xenstore.  (QMP is probably a reasonable choice.)

So for now this restriction feature cannot be used in conjunction with
migration.  (Note that this is not a regression in this patch, because
previously the -xen-restrict-domid call was, in fact, simply
ineffective!)  We will revisit this in the Xen 4.11 release cycle.

922a01a013 Move include qemu/option.h from qemu-common.h to actual users
qemu-common.h includes qemu/option.h, but most places that include the
former don't actually need the latter.  Drop the include, and add it
to the places that actually need it.

While there, drop superfluous includes of both headers, and
separate #include from file comment with a blank line.

This cleanup makes the number of objects depending on qemu/option.h
drop from 4545 (out of 4743) to 284 in my "build everything" tree.

d61a363d3e pci: removed the is_express field since a uniform interface was inserted
according to Eduardo Habkost's commit fd3b02c889 all PCIEs now implement
INTERFACE_PCIE_DEVICE so we don't need is_express field anymore.

Devices that implements only INTERFACE_PCIE_DEVICE (is_express == 1)
or
devices that implements only INTERFACE_CONVENTIONAL_PCI_DEVICE (is_express == 0)
where not affected by the change.

The only devices that were affected are those that are hybrid and also
had (is_express == 1) - therefor only:
  - hw/vfio/pci.c
  - hw/usb/hcd-xhci.c
  - hw/xen/xen_pt.c

For those 3 I made sure that QEMU_PCI_CAP_EXPRESS is on in instance_init()

0bd1909da6 machine: Replace has_dynamic_sysbus with list of allowed devices
The existing has_dynamic_sysbus flag makes the machine accept
every user-creatable sysbus device type on the command-line.
Replace it with a list of allowed device types, so machines can
easily accept some sysbus devices while rejecting others.

To keep exactly the same behavior as before, the existing
has_dynamic_sysbus=true assignments are replaced with a
TYPE_SYS_BUS_DEVICE entry on the allowed list.  Other patches
will replace the TYPE_SYS_BUS_DEVICE entries with more specific
lists of devices.

2e63eb2bec xen/pt: Set is_express to avoid out-of-bounds write
The passed-through device might be an express device. In this case the
old code allocated a too small emulated config space in
pci_config_alloc() since pci_config_size() returned the size for a
non-express device. This leads to an out-of-bound write in

fd56e0612b pci: Eliminate redundant PCIDevice::bus pointer
The bus pointer in PCIDevice is basically redundant with QOM information.
It's always initialized to the qdev_get_parent_bus(), the only difference
is the type.

Therefore this patch eliminates the field, instead creating a pci_get_bus()
helper to do the type mangling to derive it conveniently from the QOM
Device object underneath.

b5e397a79e xen: add a global indicator for grant copy being available
The Xen qdisk backend needs to test whether grant copy operations is
available in the kernel. Unfortunately this collides with using
xengnttab_set_max_grants() on some kernels as this operation has to
be the first one after opening the gnttab device.

In order to solve this problem test for the availability of grant copy
in xen_be_init() opening the gnttab device just for that purpose and
closing it again afterwards. Advertise the availability via a global
flag and use that flag in the qdisk backend.

2) base-pci-bridge

Not all PCI bridges are Conventional PCI devices, so
INTERFACE_CONVENTIONAL_PCI_DEVICE is added only to the subtypes
that are actually Conventional PCI:

* dec-21154-p2p-bridge
* i82801b11-bridge
* pbm-bridge
* pci-bridge

The direct subtypes of base-pci-bridge not touched by this patch
are:

* xilinx-pcie-root: Already marked as PCIe-only.
* pcie-pci-bridge: Already marked as PCIe-only.
* pcie-port: all non-abstract subtypes of pcie-port are already
  marked as PCIe-only devices.

3) megasas-base

Not all megasas devices are Conventional PCI devices, so the
interface names are added to the subclasses registered by
megasas_register_types(), according to information in the
megasas_devices[] array.

"megasas-gen2" already implements INTERFACE_PCIE_DEVICE, so add
INTERFACE_CONVENTIONAL_PCI_DEVICE only to "megasas".

a803633660 xen/pt: allow QEMU to request MSI unmasking at bind time
When a MSI interrupt is bound to a guest using
xc_domain_update_msi_irq (XEN_DOMCTL_bind_pt_irq) the interrupt is
left masked by default.

This causes problems with guests that first configure interrupts and
clean the per-entry MSIX table mask bit and afterwards enable MSIX
globally. In such scenario the Xen internal msixtbl handlers would not
detect the unmasking of MSIX entries because vectors are not yet
registered since MSIX is not enabled, and vectors would be left
masked.

Introduce a new flag in the gflags field to signal Xen whether a MSI
interrupt should be unmasked after being bound.

This also requires to track the mask register for MSI interrupts, so
QEMU can also notify to Xen whether the MSI interrupt should be bound
masked or unmasked

a19bae42e3 hw/xen: Set emu_mask for igd_opregion register
In igd passthrough environment, guest could only access opregion at the
first bootup time. Once guest shutdown, later guest couldn't access
opregion anymore.
This is because qemu set emulated guest opregion base address to host
register. Later guest get a wrong host opregion base address, and couldn't
access it anymore.

This patch set emu_mask for igd_opregion register, so guest won't set
guest opregion base address to host.

e4f4fb1eca sysbus: Set user_creatable=false by default on TYPE_SYS_BUS_DEVICE
commit 33cd52b5d7 unset
cannot_instantiate_with_device_add_yet in TYPE_SYSBUS, making all
sysbus devices appear on "-device help" and lack the "no-user"
flag in "info qdm".

To fix this, we can set user_creatable=false by default on
TYPE_SYS_BUS_DEVICE, but this requires setting
user_creatable=true explicitly on the sysbus devices that
actually work with -device.

Fortunately today we have just a few has_dynamic_sysbus=1
machines: virt, pc-q35-*, ppce500, and spapr.

virt, ppce500, and spapr have extra checks to ensure just a few
device types can be instantiated:

* virt supports only TYPE_VFIO_CALXEDA_XGMAC, TYPE_VFIO_AMD_XGBE.
* ppce500 supports only TYPE_ETSEC_COMMON.
* spapr supports only TYPE_SPAPR_PCI_HOST_BRIDGE.

This patch sets user_creatable=true explicitly on those 4 device
classes.

Now, the more complex cases:

pc-q35-*: q35 has no sysbus device whitelist yet (which is a
separate bug). We are in the process of fixing it and building a
sysbus whitelist on q35, but in the meantime we can fix the
"-device help" and "info qdm" bugs mentioned above. Also, despite
not being strictly necessary for fixing the q35 bug, reducing the
list of user_creatable=true devices will help us be more
confident when building the q35 whitelist.

xen: We also have a hack at xen_set_dynamic_sysbus(), that sets
has_dynamic_sysbus=true at runtime when using the Xen
accelerator. This hack is only used to allow xen-backend devices
to be dynamically plugged/unplugged.

This means today we can use -device with the following 22 device
types, that are the ones compiled into the qemu-system-x86_64 and
qemu-system-i386 binaries:

This patch adds user_creatable=true explicitly to those devices,
temporarily, just to keep 100% compatibility with existing
behavior of q35. Subsequent patches will remove
user_creatable=true from the devices that are really not meant to
user-creatable on any machine, and remove the FIXME comment from
the ones that are really supposed to be user-creatable. This is
being done in separate patches because we still don't have an
obvious list of devices that will be whitelisted by q35, and I
would like to get each device reviewed individually.

1c599472b0 xen: use libxendevice model to restrict operations
This patch adds a command-line option (-xen-domid-restrict) which will
use the new libxendevicemodel API to restrict devicemodel [1] operations
to the specified domid. (Such operations are not applicable to the xenpv
machine type).

This patch also adds a tracepoint to allow successful enabling of the
restriction to be monitored.

[1] I.e. operations issued by libxendevicemodel. Operation issued by other
    xen libraries (e.g. libxenforeignmemory) are currently still unrestricted
    but this will be rectified by subsequent patches.

Create a qdev plugged to the xen-sysbus for each new backend device.
This device can be used as a parent for all needed devices of that
backend. The id of the new device will be "xen-<type>-<dev>" with

c8e36e865c xen: when removing a backend don't remove many of them
When a Xenstore watch fires indicating a backend has to be removed
don't remove all backends for that domain with the specified device
index, but just the one which has the correct type.

The easiest way to achieve this is to use the already determined
xendev as parameter for xen_be_del_xendev() instead of only the domid
and device index.

This at once removes the open coded QTAILQ_FOREACH_SAVE() in
xen_be_del_xendev() as there is no need to search for the correct
xendev any longer.

system device to serve as an anchor for removable virtual buses. This
introduced a build failure for non-x86 builds with CONFIG_XEN_BACKEND
set, as xen_sysdev was defined in a x86 specific file while being
consumed in an architecture independent source.

Move the xen_sysdev definition and initialization to xen_backend.c to
avoid the build failure.

637c53ffcb xen: write information about supported backends
Add a Xenstore directory for each supported pv backend. This will allow
Xen tools to decide which backend type to use in case there are
multiple possibilities.

The information is added under
/local/domain/<backend-domid>/device-model/<domid>/backends
before the "running" state is written to Xenstore. Using a directory
for each backend enables us to add parameters for specific backends
in the future.

This interface is documented in the Xen source repository in the file
docs/misc/qemu-backends.txt

In order to reuse the Xenstore directory creation already present in
hw/xen/xen_devconfig.c move the related functions to
hw/xen/xen_backend.c where they fit better.

da34e65cb4 include/qemu/osdep.h: Don't include qapi/error.h
Commit 57cb38b included qapi/error.h into qemu/osdep.h to get the
Error typedef.  Since then, we've moved to include qemu/osdep.h
everywhere.  Its file comment explains: "To avoid getting into
possible circular include dependencies, this file should not include
any other QEMU headers, with the exceptions of config-host.h,
compiler.h, os-posix.h and os-win32.h, all of which are doing a
similar job to this file and are under similar constraints."
qapi/error.h doesn't do a similar job, and it doesn't adhere to
similar constraints: it includes qapi-types.h.  That's in excess of
100KiB of crap most .c files don't actually need.

Add the typedef to qemu/typedefs.h, and include that instead of
qapi/error.h.  Include qapi/error.h in .c files that need it and don't
get it now.  Include qapi-types.h in qom/object.h for uint16List.

Update scripts/clean-includes accordingly.  Update it further to match
reality: replace config.h by config-target.h, add sysemu/os-posix.h,
sysemu/os-win32.h.  Update the list of includes in the qemu/osdep.h
comment quoted above similarly.

This reduces the number of objects depending on qapi/error.h from "all
of them" to less than a third.  Unfortunately, the number depending on
qapi-types.h shrinks only a little.  More work is needed for that one.

81daba5880 xen: drop XenXC and associated interface wrappers
Now that 4.2 and earlier are no longer supported "xc_interface *" is
always the right type for the xc interface handle.

With this we can also simplify the handling of the xenforeignmemory
compatibility wrapper by making xenforeignmemory_handle ==
xc_interface, instead of an xc_interface* and remove various uses of &
and *h.

428c3ece97 fix MSI injection on Xen
On Xen MSIs can be remapped into pirqs, which are a type of event
channels. It's mostly for the benefit of PCI passthrough devices, to
avoid the overhead of interacting with the emulated lapic.

However remapping interrupts and MSIs is also supported for emulated
devices, such as the e1000 and virtio-net.

When an interrupt or an MSI is remapped into a pirq, masking and
unmasking is done by masking and unmasking the event channel. The
masking bit on the PCI config space or MSI-X table should be ignored,
but it isn't at the moment.

As a consequence emulated devices which use MSI or MSI-X, such as
virtio-net, don't work properly (the guest doesn't receive any
notifications). The mechanism was working properly when xen_apic was
introduced, but I haven't narrowed down which commit in particular is
causing the regression.

Fix the issue by ignoring the masking bit for MSI and MSI-X which have
been remapped into pirqs.

e0cb42ae4b xen: Switch uses of xc_map_foreign_{pages,bulk} to use libxenforeignmemory API.
In Xen 4.7 we are refactoring parts libxenctrl into a number of
separate libraries which will provide backward and forward API and ABI
compatiblity.

One such library will be libxenforeignmemory which provides access to
privileged foreign mappings and which will provide an interface
equivalent to xc_map_foreign_{pages,bulk}.

The new xenforeignmemory_map() function behaves like
xc_map_foreign_pages() when the err argument is NULL and like
xc_map_foreign_bulk() when err is non-NULL, which maps into the shim
here onto checking err == NULL and calling the appropriate old
function.

Note that xenforeignmemory_map() takes the number of pages before the
arrays themselves, in order to support potentially future use of
variable-length-arrays in the prototype (in the future, when Xen's
baseline toolchain requirements are new enough to ensure VLAs are
supported).

In preparation for adding support for libxenforeignmemory add support
to the <=4.0 and <=4.6 compat code in xen_common.h to allow us to
switch to using the new API. These shims will disappear for versions
of Xen which include libxenforeignmemory.

Since libxenforeignmemory will have its own handle type but for <= 4.6
the functionality is provided by using a libxenctrl handle we
introduce a new global xen_fmem alongside the existing xen_xc. In fact
we make xen_fmem a pointer to the existing xen_xc, which then works
correctly with both <=4.0 (xc handle is an int) and <=4.6 (xc handle
is a pointer). In the latter case xen_fmem is actually a double
indirect pointer, but it all falls out in the wash.

Unlike libxenctrl libxenforeignmemory has an explicit unmap function,
rather than just specifying that munmap should be used, so the unmap
paths are updated to use xenforeignmemory_unmap, which is a shim for
munmap on these versions of xen. The mappings in xen-hvm.c do not
appear to be unmapped (which makes sense for a qemu-dm process)

In fb_disconnect this results in a change from simply mmap over the
existing mapping (with an implicit munmap) to expliclty unmapping with
xenforeignmemory_unmap and then mapping the required anonymous memory
in the same hole. I don't think this is a problem since any other
thread which was racily touching this region would already be running
the risk of hitting the mapping halfway through the call. If this is
thought to be a problem then we could consider adding an extra API to
the libxenforeignmemory interface to replace a foreign mapping with
anonymous shared memory, but I'd prefer not to.

The remaining log message in pci_msix_write() is wrong, as there guest
behavior may only appear to be wrong: For one, the old logic didn't
take the mask-all bit into account. And then this shouldn't depend on
host device state (i.e. the host may have masked the entry without the
guest having done so). Plus these writes shouldn't be dropped even when
an entry gets unmasked. Instead, if they can't be made take effect
right away, they should take effect on the next unmasking or enabling
operation - the specification explicitly describes such caching
behavior.

4e494de668 Qemu/Xen: Fix early freeing MSIX MMIO memory region
msix->mmio is added to XenPCIPassthroughState's object as property.
object_finalize_child_property is called for XenPCIPassthroughState's
object, which calls object_property_del_all, which is going to try to
delete msix->mmio. object_finalize_child_property() will access
msix->mmio's obj. But the whole msix struct has already been freed
by xen_pt_msix_delete. This will cause segment fault when msix->mmio
has been overwritten.

This patch is to fix the issue.

e2779de053 xen/pt: Remove XenPTReg->data field.
We do not want to have two entries to cache the guest configuration
registers: XenPTReg->data and dev.config. Instead we want to use
only the dev.config.

To do without much complications we rip out the ->data field
and replace it with an pointer to the dev.config. This way we
have the type-checking (uint8_t, uint16_t, etc) and as well
and pre-computed location.

Alternatively we could compute the offset in dev.config by
using the XenPTRRegInfo and XenPTRegGroup every time but
this way we have the pre-computed values.

This change also exposes some mis-use:
 - In 'xen_pt_status_reg_init' we used u32 for the Capabilities Pointer
   register, but said register is an an u16.
 - In 'xen_pt_msgdata_reg_write' we used u32 but should have only use u16.

It should never happen, but in case it does (an developer adds
a new register and the 'init_val' expands past the register
size) we want to report. The code will only write up to
reg->size so there is no runtime danger of the register spilling

2e87512ecc xen/pt: Sync up the dev.config and data values.
For a passthrough device we maintain a state of emulated
registers value contained within d->config. We also consult
the host registers (and apply ro and write masks) whenever
the guest access the registers. This is done in xen_pt_pci_write_config
and xen_pt_pci_read_config.

Also in this picture we call pci_default_write_config which
updates the d->config and if the d->config[PCI_COMMAND] register
has PCI_COMMAND_MEMORY (or PCI_COMMAND_IO) acts on those changes.

On startup the d->config[PCI_COMMAND] are the host values, not
what the guest initial values should be, which is exactly what
we do _not_ want to do for 64-bit BARs when the guest just wants
to read the size of the BAR. Huh you say?

To get the size of 64-bit memory space BARs,  the guest has
to calculate ((BAR[x] & 0xFFFFFFF0) + ((BAR[x+1] & 0xFFFFFFFF) << 32))
which means it has to do two writes of ~0 to BARx and BARx+1.

prior to this patch and with XSA120-addendum patch (Linux kernel)
the PCI_COMMAND register is copied from the host it can have
PCI_COMMAND_MEMORY bit set which means that QEMU will try to
update the hypervisor's P2M with BARx+1 value to ~0 (0xffffffff)
(to sync the guest state to host) instead of just having
xen_pt_pci_write_config and xen_pt_bar_reg_write apply the
proper masks and return the size to the guest.

To thwart this, this patch syncs up the host values with the
guest values taking into account the emu_mask (bit set means
we emulate, PCI_COMMAND_MEMORY and PCI_COMMAND_IO are set).
That is we copy the host values - masking out any bits which
we will emulate. Then merge it with the initial emulation register
values. Lastly this value is then copied both in
dev.config _and_ XenPTReg->data field.

There is also reg->size accounting taken into consideration
that ends up being used in patch.

Also we swap from xen_host_pci_long to using xen_host_pci_get_[byte,word,long].

Otherwise we get:

xen_pt_config_reg_init: Offset 0x0004 mismatch! Emulated=0x0000, host=0x2300017, syncing to 0x2300014.
xen_pt_config_reg_init: Error: Offset 0x0004:0x2300014 expands past register size(2)!

which is not surprising. We read the value as an 32-bit (from host),
then operate it as a 16-bit - and the remainder is left unchanged.

We end up writing the value as 16-bit (so 0014) to dev.config
(as we use proper xen_set_host_[byte,word,long] so we don't spill
to other registers) but in XenPTReg->data it is as 32-bit (0x2300014)!

It is harmless as the read/write functions end up using an size mask
and never modify the bits past 16-bit (reg->size is 2).

This patch fixes the warnings by reading the value using the
proper size.

Note that the check for size is still left in-case the developer
sets bits past the reg->size in the ->init routines. The author
tried to fiddle with QEMU_BUILD_BUG to make this work but failed.

6aa07b1494 xen/pt: Use xen_host_pci_get_[byte|word] instead of dev.config
During init time we treat the dev.config area as a cache
of the host view. However during execution time we treat it
as guest view (by the generic PCI API). We need to sync Xen's
code to the generic PCI API view. This is the first step
by replacing all of the code that uses dev.config or
pci_get_[byte|word] to get host value to actually use the
xen_host_pci_get_[byte|word] functions.

Interestingly in 'xen_pt_ptr_reg_init' we also needed to swap
reg_field from uint32_t to uint8_t - since the access is only
for one byte not four bytes. We can split this as a seperate
patch however we would have to use a cast to thwart compiler
warnings in the meantime.

We also truncated 'flags' to 'flag' to make the code fit within
the 80 characters.

54fd08136e xen/pt: Use XEN_PT_LOG properly to guard against compiler warnings.
If XEN_PT_LOGGING_ENABLED is enabled the XEN_PT_LOG macros start
using the first argument. Which means if within the function there
is only one user of the argument ('d') and XEN_PT_LOGGING_ENABLED
is not set, we get compiler warnings. This is not the case now
but with the "xen/pt: Use xen_host_pci_get_[byte|word] instead of dev.config"
we will hit - so this sync up the function to the rest of them.

69976894c1 xen/pass-through: ROM BAR handling adjustments
Expecting the ROM BAR to be written with an all ones value when sizing
the region is wrong - the low bit has another meaning (enable/disable)
and bits 1..10 are reserved. The PCI spec also mandates writing all
ones to just the address portion of the register.

Use suitable constants also for initializing the ROM BAR register field
description.
