In a9c35cf85ca I changed ExecMakeTableFunctionResult() to dynamically allocate the FunctionCallInfo used to call the SRF. Unfortunately I did not account for the fact that the surrounding memory context has query lifetime, leading to a leak till the end of the query. In most cases the leak is fairly inconsequential, but if the FunctionScan is done many times in the query, the leak can add up. This happens e.g. if the function scan is on the inner side of a nested loop, due to a lateral join. EXPLAIN SELECT sum(f) FROM generate_series(1, 100000000) g(i), generate_series(i, i+1) f; quickly shows the leak. Instead of explicitly freeing the FunctionCallInfo it seems better to make sure all the per-set temporary state in ExecMakeTableFunctionResult() is cleaned up wholesale. Currently that's probably just the FunctionCallInfo allocation, but since there's some initialization work, and since there's already an appropriate context, this seems like a more robust approach. PostgreSQL Database Management System ===================================== This directory contains the source code distribution of the PostgreSQL database management system. PostgreSQL is an advanced object-relational database management system that supports an extended subset of the SQL standard, including transactions, foreign keys, subqueries, triggers, user-defined types and functions. This distribution also contains C language bindings. PostgreSQL has many language interfaces, many of which are listed here: https://www.postgresql.org/download/ See the file INSTALL for instructions on how to build and install PostgreSQL. That file also lists supported operating systems and hardware platforms and contains information regarding any other software packages that are required to build or run the PostgreSQL system. Copyright and license information can be found in the file COPYRIGHT. A comprehensive documentation set is included in this distribution; it can be read as described in the installation instructions. The latest version of this software may be obtained at https://www.postgresql.org/download/. For more information look at our web site located at https://www.postgresql.org/.
