From dda3e77ea227108a255293076f7c0c22e750a2ee Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Martijn van Beurden Date: Wed, 26 Jun 2024 09:42:07 +0200 Subject: [PATCH] On WIN32, set stdout/stderr to UTF-8 (#714) When stderr (flac) or stdout (metaflac) is redirected to a file, output of non-ASCII characters fails. This commit should fix that. Fixes https://github.com/xiph/flac/issues/713 NOTE: To enable this change, metaflac no longer outputs application block data as binary directly, because that would potentially result in incorrect UTF-8 codepoint. Instead, all bytes that cannot be represented as printable ASCII are replaced with the Unicode replacement character --- src/flac/analyze.c | 2 +- src/flac/main.c | 2 + src/flac/utils.c | 8 +- src/libFLAC/cpu.c | 2 +- src/libFLAC/lpc.c | 44 +- src/libFLAC/stream_decoder.c | 6 +- src/libFLAC/stream_encoder.c | 10 +- src/metaflac/operations.c | 137 +++-- .../operations_shorthand_streaminfo.c | 20 +- src/metaflac/usage.c | 542 +++++++++--------- src/metaflac/utils.c | 17 +- src/share/getopt/getopt.c | 46 +- src/share/getopt/getopt1.c | 28 +- 13 files changed, 450 insertions(+), 414 deletions(-) diff --git a/src/flac/analyze.c b/src/flac/analyze.c index 0a85565e..f17178ca 100644 --- a/src/flac/analyze.c +++ b/src/flac/analyze.c @@ -223,7 +223,7 @@ FLAC__bool dump_stats(const subframe_stats_t *stats, const char *filename) outfile = flac_fopen(filename, "w");
