## Testing it Out ##
Clone the git repository and run:
If you are on Debian/Ubuntu/etc., you can clone the repository and run:
# Ensure that you have clang, yasm, a working C stack, etc.
sudo apt-get install clang yasm genext2fs build-essential wget libmpfr-dev libmpc-dev libgmp-dev qemu autoconf automake texinfo
# Build the toolchain:
pushd toolchain
./prepare.sh
./install.sh
. activate.sh
popd
# Build the userspace tools:
pushd userspace
make
popd
# Build the kernel
make system # to build the kernel
make run # to run qemu with the proper arguments
# Or, if you have KVM...
make kvm # to run qemu in KVM mode
# If you happen to have a complete LaTeX CJK package, you can also
# build the docs, and thus everything:
make docs
make
./build.sh
This will build the kernel and the ramdisk.
This will install the required dependencies, build the userspace libraries and toolchain, build the kernel, and give you a working ramdisk and hard disk.
You can then run `make run` or `make kvm` to run QEMU, or `make docs` to build documentation (which requires a LaTeX stack with CJK support).
Currently, the only supported environment is QEMU, as our limited graphics drivers do not operate on most real hardware.
