BFont::Blocks is now implemented in ServerFont, via a call through the app_server. It uses fontconfig to iterate through a charset of a font and stores the defined blocks in a bitmap. A new API was added, BFont::IncludesBlock, that will allow for arbitrary testing of a given Unicode block. Since nothing is cached, searching through an entire charset for a series of Unicode blocks can be quite slow. In a given block there may be only 1 or 2 characters actually defined so every character within a block needs to be checked until one is found, which in a degenerate case will mean the entire block is checked. Haiku is an open-source operating system that specifically targets personal computing. Inspired by the BeOS, Haiku is fast, simple to use, easy to learn and yet very powerful.

Trying Haiku
Haiku provides pre-built nightly images and release images. Haiku is compatible with a large variety of hardware, but in case you don't want to "take the plunge" and install Haiku on bare metal, you can install it on a virtual machine (VM) instead. If you've never used a VM before, you can follow one of the "Emulating Haiku" guides.

Contributing
Haiku is a meritocratic open source project with a large variety of tasks. Even if you can't write code, you can still help! Haiku needs designers, (technical) writers, translators, testers... Get involved and help out!
