chs a8609aaac8 in uvn_findpage(), only increment the counter of vnode pages 
if we succeed in allocating a page.

chs 4fa4734937 go back to the first version of the pte/pde dance now that kvtopte() 
has been changed to consisently return a pointer into the recursive
page table mapping.

chs 2a95fc3517 in kvtopte(), return the mapping of the pde in the recursive page-table 
mapping space rather than the mapping in the kernel address space.

mycroft 4a6da470ba When handling ELF library symlinks, rather than removing and recreating the 
symlink, instead create a temporary one ending in `.tmp' and `mv -f' it.
This way there is no window where libc isn't loadable (and thus
`make -j 100 install' works for libc).

perseant 8a3e9fdf9d Add "-A" option to autoconfigure the segment size based on measured 
bandwidth and seek time of the disk, using the "4 * bandwidth * seek
time" formula from Neefe-Matthews' 1997 paper.  An RZ25 disk with this
option gets 200K segments.  Reference the paper in the manual page.

sommerfeld e3f68e5130 Make clearfd() take O(1) time instead of O(N) by moving only the last 
job in the arrays to the hole made by the now-dead job.  No
measureable performance difference for -j4, but the code is simpler
this way.

sommerfeld b5e2403ec9 correct performance regression of recent change from select() to 
poll() for parallel make:
 - Make the poll() code behave more like the select() code: sleep for
a bit waiting for output rather than busy-wait (eww).
 - Install a no-op SIGCHLD handler so that poll/select wake up early
(with -1/EINTR) when a child exits.
 - Change the default sleep time from 500ms to 5 seconds since we now
wake up promptly when a child exits.

tsutsui e8bfefe60c - Since rtk_rxeof() was rewritten, we don't have to reserve a few bytes 
before the Rx buffer.
