Some of the stuff (e.g., rarpd, bootpd, dhcpd etc., libsa) still will
only support Ethernet. Tcpdump itself should be ok, but libpcap needs
lot of work.

some machines (because on those (64-bit) machines, -1L is
0xffffffffffffffff, but a u_int32_t will never be sign extended).
Compare to 0xffffffff; that's what was really meant, anyway.
