gpio(4): Extend with open/close to request/release the ppbus(4) on open/close.
ppbus(4): Extend to attach on gpiobus.

Never use "utilize". It means exactly the same thing as "use", but it
is longer and more cumbersome. It can always be replaced with "use"
without any change in meaning.
