In the "quick depends pre-check" don't only try to replace anything

after a "-" with the "more liberal pattern", but also anything after
any pkg wildcard.
That way if someone has teTeX-share-1.0 installed and pkg_adds
teTeX-1.0.7 (which wants teTeX-share>1.0.2), it will be caught.
XXX This "quick depends pre-check" would be nice to be done in
bsd.pkg.mk as well

* in pkg_add, before the "install dependencies" loop, check ALL

dependencies if they _can_ be installed. I.e. if a package wants
version X installed, but version Y is already installed, pkg_adding
that required pkg will blow up later (probably some pkg_add recursions
down, given what we keep in the depends list). Now, it stopps right
away:

pkg_add: pkg `xteddy-1.*' required, but `xteddy-2.0.1' found installed.
Please resolve this conflict!

do not try to use BIND4 code in libc.
...
dig/host/whatever assumes that it is using BIND8 code. mixing BIND4 in
libc with BIND8 code will result in very strange behavior, or program panics.
it is not necessary for dig/host/whatever to obey /etc/nsswitch.conf, actually
dig(1) is explicit about it.
now dist/bind is almost clean BIND822p5, with the following exception:
- /etc/irs.conf will never be visited when running BIND8 toolchain,
to make it less complex. the search order for BIND8 toolchain is
defined in dist/bind/lib/irs/gen.c:default_map_rules().
and usr.sbin/bind compiles them in BSD make framework, with no tricks at all.

- the only customer in NetBSD tree is lpd.

Fix rmt for use with Solaris 2.7 and others. The deal here is that for

version 0 RMT protocol, the query of status makes no sense (send back, in
binary, the mtget structure), but systems sometimes use it anyway. And when
they use it, they get upset if they get back something that is a different
size from what they expect. The original mtget structure in BSD 4.3 is
24 bytes in size, and that seems to be what they can cope with.
The correct fix would be to go to Version 1 RMT, but that's a horse of
another color...

In real_plog() change vsprintf() to vsnprintf() to be sure we'll never overflow
...
msg[]. I didn't check all the plog() call so I don't know if this overflow
is possible by a non-root user or not.
Suggested by Zdenek Salvet <salvet@ics.muni.cz> a looong time ago.

make IPV6_BINDV6ONLY setsockopt available. it controls behavior of
...
AF_INET6 wildcard listening socket. heavily documented in ip6(4).
net.inet6.ip6.bindv6only defines default value. default is 1.
"options INET6_BINDV6ONLY" removes any code fragment that supports
IPV6_BINDV6ONLY == 0 case (not defopt'ed as use of this is rare).

add net.inet6.icmp6.nodeinfo sysctl.
...
this allows you to disable/enable ICMPv6 node information query/reply
processing (which tells remote end the gethostname(3) setting, interface
addresses on the node, and some other things - documented in
draft-ietf-ipngwg-icmp-name-lookup* or something alike).
to test it, try ping6 -w ::1 with nodeinfo=0 and nodeinfo=1.

+ copy all files and directories in <skeldir> to new user's home
directory, not just if they begin with a '.'
+ use pax to copy files from <skeldir>, as this will allow <skeldir>
to contain directory trees as well as regular files
+ use -h arg to chown(1) in case any symlinks have been created in the
new user's home directory
+ getpwnam(3) does not set errno, so use errx(3) and warnx(3)
+ use nologin(8) in preference to false(1) when deleting users but
preserving information
+ in usage messages, specify [-r lowuid..highuid] rather than a simple
[-r range]

Add new functionality, and fix some bugs and oversights:

+ Moved all internal definitions from usermgmt.h to user.c
+ Added prototypes to usermgmt.h
+ Allow defaults to be set at build time
+ Check the effective uid is 0 if any data is to be modified
+ Check all numeric uids and gids really are numeric
+ Fix a bug (reported by lenb at sasquatch.com) where new ranges were
appended to old ranges, rather than replacing them
+ Add userinfo(8) and groupinfo(8) utilities (if EXTENSIONS is
defined), whereby user and group information can be displayed. Add
manual pages for new utilities. Add front-end calling from user(8)
and group(8) accordingly.
+ Make all functions visible outside the user.c file again. User and
group manipulation may be split out into a separate shared lib in the
future
+ Split off main function into a separate main.c
+ Changed default group to be "users"
+ Changed despatch table for commands to work in a more sane manner
+ Added "default-group" target to Makefile, so that the default group
can be made easily.
