4bebd3ff7c Don't clear screen upon startup unless we're running on a pmax (remedies 
quirky behaviour of px boards). Shuffle come code in rcons_init_ops() in
order to be more clear.

218af6a342 Insert missing code that defines screen metrics for rcons. This fixes the 
more blatant rcons brokenness (ie no panics).

28d76befd4 When calling dlerror() in a non-dynamically linked executable, return a pointer 
to an error string rather than NULL (`no errors occured) to indicate the cause
of failure return values of other dl*() interfaces.

ba2e85e711 32 bits I/O ocasionally fails on some hardware, so the test succeed but 
the kernel can get a 'protection fault trap' later. Enable the 32 bits I/O
test conditionally on a config flag, disabled by default (problem
reported by kurt.schreiner@uni-mainz.de).

a5a47c3772 - Implement MIPS_TBIAP() which invalidates all TLB entries belong to 
per process user spaces, replacing mips1_TBLFlush().  This reserves
kernel space TLB entries when TLBPID generation number about to wrap.
- Correct comments a bit, nuke unused routines.

a5d3e8dae9 when wiring swap-backed pages, clear the PG_CLEAN flag before 
releasing any swap resources.  if we don't do this, we can
end up with a clean, swap-backed page, which is illegal.
tracked down by Bill Sommerfeld, fixes PR 7578.

6f14acdddf If -c not set on command line and the partition has a non-zero cpg 
value, use it for the number of cylinders per group. So now the value
in the disklabel does something. :-)

f98d358a1f Rework layer 2 protocol input routines. Instead of calling e.g. ether_input() 
directly, call the function pointer (*if_input)(ifp, m).  The input routine
expects the packet header to be at the head of the packet, and will adjust
as necessary.  Privatize the layer 2 input and output routines, allowing
*_ifattach() to set them up as appropriate.

0ff6aaf4c2 Don't clear the screen when we connect rasops; the SPARC doesn't connect 
the rasops console until autoconfiguration, and it kinda sucks to have
the boot messages suddenly disappear from the screen.

4b2b2847cc * fix a problem in retrieve() where arguments to commands weren't working 
(this was broken in the last commit). problem noticed by simonb@
* don't display the stderr output of the internal ls.
* modify usage of lreply so that generally only one `XXX-' code per
  `block' is displayed; the rest of the lines have four spaces instead.
  i find this easier to read.
* fix a couple places where byte accounting wasn't correct

76cd940256 Add a -L (lie brazenly) flag, to demonstrate the perils of proof by 
assertion^W^W^W^W^W^W^Wprovide admins with a means of providing a
standard host-wide identd response.  From the man page:

The -L<user name> option instructs identd to lie  brazenly
about  the  identity  of the user in question.  You didn't
really intend to trust my assertion about who I  was  any-
way, right?
This  flag  provides  a way for a site to support services
requiring the ident protocol while  providing  a  standard
answer to all ident queries. All queries to identd will
respond with a host type of  `OTHER'  and  a  username  of
<user name>.
