The commit includes:
- Flash layer, which gives a common API to access flash devices
- NAND controller subsystem for the flash layer
- An example OMAP driver which is used on BeagleBoard or alike ARM boards
where configuration for crunchgen(1) is moved from ramdisk/ to common/.
For i386, only mbrlabel(8) and various LFS related binaries are added. Yes,
LFS. It was added to amd64 ramdisk 3 years ago, I believe it's for a good
reason... ?
Reasons being:
- INSTALL is GENERIC with an embedded ramdisk, and as such, can benefit from
features included within.
- INSTALL_FLOPPY has its own config(5) file, and is tailored for "small"
floppy images; it misses features/drivers that could be needed to boot
in a decent environment for recent x86 machines (like ACPI)
- makes it closer to floppies distrib available for amd64
While here, comment out INSTALL_FLOPPY and bootfloppy-big image build. NetBSD
does not use the 3.6MiB image for El Torito cdroms anymore.
Remove the FLOPPYMAX limit; i386 needs 4 floppies now. Modify boot.cfg and
release/contents to reflect reality.

to access, manage and manipulate device-mapper driver. Which opens us bunch
of new possibilities like
dm-multipath device target
dm-crypt device target
dm-ccd compatibility layer
With this import I'm bringing in dmctl tool for working with dm driver ,too.
I plan to replace gpl2 licensed dmsetup command with our dmctl tool in near
feature. It can also by placed to /rescue where we was not able to put
dmsetup because of licensing problems.
With libdm in tree we can now write RUMP atf test suite for dm driver to
ensure LVM subsystem stability as time goes.

- Only A1416 Kathmandu (topcat) framebuffer on 425t is tested, but
all other variants (TigerShark, Hyperion, DaVinci, GatorBox, Renaissance)
should also work if they are working on OpenBSD/hp300.
- sti(4) and SGC bus support are not pulled because I don't have 425e
and I can't confirm that 362 and 382 actually have SGC bus.
(I'll commit a DIO based dumb driver for 362 and 382 framebuffers later)
- Xorg server with wsfb driver will also be integrated soon
once after keycode with NoSymbol problem is addressed.
(We have to re-think what code should be used on WSDISPLAY_COMPAT_RAWKBD)
- MI HIL keyboard and mouse drivers are working fine though
cngetc via hilkbd has some problem (still we can input commands).
- No old HP-UX like HIL ioctl compatibility (we removed COMPAT_HPUX anyway).
grfinfo(8) and hilinfo(8) will be removed shortly.
Demonstrated on NetBSD booth at Open Source Conference 2011 Kagawa.
Upstream sources can be fetched by running "make checkout" in
src/external/bsd/llvm, they will be properly imported once the
integration and missing features are sorted out.
- Add libnpf(3) - a library to control NPF (configuration, ruleset, etc).
- Add NPF support for ftp-proxy(8).
- Add rc.d script for NPF.
- Convert npfctl(8) to use libnpf(3) and thus make it less depressive.
Note: next clean-up step should be a parser, once dholland@ will finish it.
- Add more documentation.
- Various fixes.
XXX i386 and amd64 distrib have lots in common, maybe more files/logic
could/should be shared.
Message log reads:
Use ${INSTALL} ${COPY} instead of ${CP}.
This avoids a problem where files with mode 0400 (CVSREAD=t) are
copied to OBJDIR and then can't be re-copied on a subsequent build.

Ported from freebsd.
Not added to amd64's GENERIC because this CPU is 32bit only.

eMIPS is a platform developed at Microsoft Research for researching
reconfigurable computing. eMIPS allows dynamic loading and scheduling
of application-specific circuits for the purpose of accelerating
computations based on the current workload.
NetBSD eMIPS support for NetBSD 4.x was written at Microsoft Research
by Alessandro Forin and Neil Pittman. Microsoft Corporation has

Platform support for eMIPS is the first part of Microsoft's
contribution. The second part includes the hardware accelerator
framework and will be proposed on tech-kern soon.

to be working under the assumptions that there is no stable storage
on a rump instance, and that there are n networking stacks on a
given host.
prop_{array,dictionary}_copyout_ioctl().
- Implement prop_{array,dictionary}_recv_syscall(), which
takes as parameter the pref we got from kernel and internalize it,
and unmaps the buffer prop_{array,dictionary}_copyout() mapped for us.
- add a prop_{array,dictionary}_send_syscall() for symetry, which is
an alias to prop_{array,dictionary}_externalize_to_pref()

some locking and rumpcopy primitives and refactor module building Makefiles
to work with both RUMP and kernel modules. This is first part of adding
support for regular test of zfs on NetBSD to hunt some bugs and make it
stable.
