5551faab76 Don't abuse alloca() for allocating memory for string sections which can 
easily have a size of several megabytes exceeding the hard stack limit
of some ports. Patch supplied by Richard Earnshaw in PR bin/8547.

5c04333d5d It's legal to mmap pages in the lower part of the stack (< limit), and 
use them, so allow this by relaxing the check for it.

24473bdec7 Update with new 623 and 480 area codes for Arizona. Not positive about 
how Phoenix divides on those lines, but the whole thing is rediculously
confusing anyhow.

684ef7f4c2 Add emulation for scheduler related syscalls. Although they are dummies 
even under Linux the posix thread library for "glibc2" requires them.

e8d7fe2144 - Save SCSI status in the request. 
- In dpt_intr(), if no interrupt is signalled but the HBA has indicated
  that more data will be available soon (HA_ST_MORE), save a context switch
  and wait for the data.

fcb1a22a1c If EPSV or EPRT fails, disable epsv4 for the rest of the current connection. 
the disabled state can be overridden by toggling epsv4.

(I got sick of the errors about EPSV not being supported on almost
every server I connect to. This way we retain support for epsv4, but
it's not so whiny after the first failure...)

ad70c1982e prefix the global variables in ftp_var.h with GLOBAL, which defaults 
to "extern" if it's not set. define GLOBAL to (empty) in main.c.
this effectively moves all the globals into main.c whilst retaining
namespace access to them in other source files.
(global vars in header files confuse foreign linkers)

25790d921d * In the !NI_NUMERICHOST case (i.e, getaddrinfo() challenged systems), portnum 
should be in host order. found/fixed by Matthias Pfaller <leo@dachau.marco.de>
* parse_url(): improve checking of portnum, and add an extra argument to pass
  back the parsed portnum to the caller (reduces a bit of code duplication)
* Move the KAME/WIDE copyrights after the BSD/TNFi ones. Since there was
  significantly less code added under the former, it's only fair on the latter.

415b44a62a Rework the Buslogic SCSI driver in preparation for some pending improvements 
to the SCSIPI subsystem.
- Determine more characteristics about the board, including the number
  of concurrent commands that the processor can execute at a time.
- Rework memory allocation strategy so that we can do dynamic pre-allocation
  of resources according to workload.

Thanks to the Linux Buslogic driver for having some useful comments.

fe12736867 Update for SCSIPI changes. Note that capabilities update is disabled 
until Matt Jacob has a change to update the driver for the latest
firmware, etc. since update device parameters seems to fail once the
system is really up and running, and eventually causes the controller
to wedge.  This may be due to a firmware bug.

2b02403498 The old dk_establish() hack doens't work anymore, and should be 
garbage-collected.  device_register() is the One True Way.

16a9d90e17 Cleanup the scsipi_xfer flags: 
- `flags' is now gone, replaced with `xs_control' and `xs_status'.
- Massive cleanup of the control flags.  Now we explicitly say that
  a job is to complete asynchronously, rather than relying on side-effects,
  and use a new flag to now that device discovery is being performed.
- Do SCSI device discovery interrupt-driven.
