oster 39b858e3bf Add new RF_* options for RAIDframe bits that are no longer built by default. 
While we're here, enable RAIDframe (and RAID_AUTOCONFIG) by default for
architectures that I'm comfortable can deal with it being on by default.

Also: bump the number of 'raid' devices from 4 to 8, since 4 seems to
be insufficient in practise.

toshii 2e3ff494cb Remove fwait after fxsave. 
Raising math exception from fpu_save causes machine reboots.
Also, this fwait would cause incorrect results, as pending exceptions
are to be handled later after fxrstor.

thorpej 3835413bc1 Overhaul of the ISA autoconfiguration code to support direct 
configuration of devices logically attached to the ISA bus:

* Change the isa_attach_args to have arrays of io, mem, irq, drq
  resources.
* Add a "pnpnames" and a linked list of "pnpcompatnames" to the
  isa_attach_args.  If either of these members are non-NULL,
  direct configuration of the bus is being performed.  Add an
  ISA_DIRECT_CONFIG() macro to test for this.
* Drivers are not allowed to modify the isa_attach_args unless
  direct configuration is not being performed and the probe fucntion
  is returning success.
* Adapt device drivers -- currently, all driver probe routines return
  "no match" if ISA_DIRECT_CONFIG() evaluates to true.

ws 95ea6d63ce Make this work with only a keyboard attached to ps2 port. 
(Maybe even works with only a mouse attached, but I cannot test this.)
Should fix PR 10306 (& 15093).

chs 9451559ef4 pmap_page_protect(VM_PROT_NONE) must remove all mappings in the PV list, 
even if they are wired.  we need to be able to remove all mappings to
pages that are being freed due to (eg.) file truncation.

chs a70dcbb2fd merge in a bit from the MP branch to cut down on LOCKDEBUG spew: 
Use optimistic locking in pmap_create() so that we don't lock against
ourself if allocating the page directory causes pmap_growkernel() to
be called.

martin b506d6e135 Add PPPoE to all generic kernels that should be able to use it.

jdolecek 845a3d15d2 rename (incorrect) SVR4_TRAP_CLOCK_SETTIME to SVR4_TRAP_GETHRESTIME - this 
is what Solaris8 calls it
implement SVR4_TRAP_GETHRESTIME, though obviously only with microsecond accuracy

now clock_gettime(CLOCK_REALTIME, tp) works on Solaris8/i386

fvdl e922d091ba Prevent gcc from reordering things such that instructions may fall out 
of a range which is protected by spl/splx. Originally proposed by
YAMAMOTO Takashi (yamt@netbsd.org) on tech-kern. This change mirrors
the one done by Bill Sommerfeld on the i386 mp branch.

christos 878eb1362a PR/14946: Rafal Boni: Make this work again. 
Notes:
    - I added bsd.obj.mk and made it work with objdirs.
    - I added an entry point to the linker to fix a warning.
    - I made the backup of biostramp.inc silent.
    - I added missing clean targets.

This needs to be tested further.

atatat b45c51b1fc Roll the rest of the ports over to the new MI kernel build machinery. 
Any problems reported by testers have been fixed, and massive
cross-compiling of kernels has shown that any problems that remain
with actually building kernels are not related to this.
