simonb bde324b68f Fix a couple of problems: 
+ Make depend required all the source files to be built before
   the dependencies were generated due to some sub-optimal logic
   in the version generation.
   Fix from Bernd Ernesti in private mail.
 + Make the version string contain ${PROG} as originally intended
   and not "ntpd" for all 7 programs.

Also move version generation to Makefile.inc to stop having 7 copies
of exactly the same thing.

itojun 92e64a4a0d sync with almost-latest KAME IPsec. full changelog would be too big 
to mention here.  notable changes are like below.

kernel:
- make PF_KEY kernel interface more robust against broken input stream.
  it includes complete internal structure change in sys/netkey/key.c.
- remove non-RFC compliant change in PF_KEY API, in particular,
  in struct sadb_msg.  we cannot just change these standard structs.
  sadb_x_sa2 is introduced instead.
- remove prototypes for pfkey_xx functions from /usr/include/net/pfkeyv2.h.
  these functions are not supplied in /usr/lib.

setkey(8):
- get/delete does not require "-m mode" (ignored with warning, if you
  specify it)
- spddelete takes direction specification

bouyer 491268e2d5 Always copy pointer returned by db->get or db->seq before using, to avoid 
alignements issues.
While doing this I found a bug in reset_host(), notifyReqd was set to
the wrong pointer.

cgd c026189f76 do that previous differently. only allow redefinitions if: in different 
file, make command specified, and no flags or attrs-which-cause-inclusion
are spec'd.  The notion is, if you change either of the last 2, it will
probably have very undesirable results, so only allow the make command to
be changed.  override by clobbering the make command in the previous entry.
also, fix a bug where line number of original entry would get clobbered on
dup entry, so that if you had multiple dups the later ones would get bogus
initial definition info.

fvdl 2a2d6dd2fc Update to use ti-rpc interface. Add -6 flag for IPv6 usage. This flag 
will not cause an error if IPv6 is not available, so that things work
on v4 only kernels.

hubertf 2b57637552 ftp(1)'s "ls" now lists files/dirs plus attributes (much like "dir" did 
before). Use "nlist" to still get filenames only.
Needed to expand wildcards.

bouyer 227ed98327 Implement file locking in lockd. All the stuff is done in userland, using 
fhopen() and flock(). This means that if you kill lockd, all locks will
be relased (but you're supposed to kill statd at the same time, so
remote hosts will know it and re-establish the lock).
Tested against solaris 2.7 and linux 2.2.14 clients.
Shared lock are not handled efficiently, they're serialised in lockd when they
could be granted.

bouyer ff01cf4808 Solaris hosts with multiple names (e.g. short & fqdn) sends notification 
with both names. So log the "Unsolicited notification" with LOG_DEBUG
instead of LOG_ERR.
Don't return failure if we received a notification for which the host is
unknown, or we don't have outstanding requests. The remote host will retry
forever otherwise.

bouyer e85966b43e db->seq() returns 0 for success and 1 for failure, not the opposite. 
walk_db() was silently failing because of this.

fvdl d687de29c6 rpcbind, the successor to portmap. Taken from Sun TI-RPC source code, 
then modified. This still contains some ugly special casing for
procedures in the security section, but I haven't found a nicer way
so far.

jwise 21a51a33f7 Fix a hole in the portmap libwrap access control: programs on a host which 
had been granted access to the portmapper via hosts.{allow,deny} could use
PMAPPROC_CALLIT to call PMAPPROC_{SET,UNSET} to (un)register services as if
they were running on the local host.

The new code disallows all indirect calls to the portmapper except for
PMAPPROC_NULL unless the -i (insecure) flag has been specified.

While there, add a new flag, -p (paranoid) which also disallows indirect calls
to a small number of other services, including key parts of NFS and NIS.  This
code hardcodes the services to be disallowed, and is thus somewhat of a hack,
but will serve for the time being (until portmap is replaced by rpcbind as part
of fvdl's current rpc work, due to happen before 1.5).

Problem pointed out by Frank van der Linden <fvdl@netbsd.org>, solution determined
in discussion with Frank van der Linden and with Bill Sommerfeld <sommerfeld@netbsd.org>.
Some inspiration drawn from the (less general) handling of this problem in Wietse
Venema's libwrap'ed portmap.

itojun ed26506c25 usr.sbin/lpr/lpd now compiles lib/libc/net/rcmd.c on its own, to avoid 
use of non-exported function __ivaliduser{,_sa}().

we cannot make __ivaliduser{,_sa}() static yet, since doing that would choke
compiled lpd binaries.  we should do it on next libc major version bump.
added a memo on lib/libc/shlib_version.

darrenr 571cb0a210 change the parsing of chown user[:gid] to the following: 
1. if there is a colon present, use that as a separator for user:group

2. if there is no colon, attempt to convert the arg into a username,
   searching backwards in the string for a '.' for us.er.group

3. if the arg doesn't match a username and has a '.' in it, split it
   up and try user.group

he cbc0b13fa7 Revert away from automatically generating port_ipv6.h, and install 
a static once-generated version instead.  We know we have IPv6
headers available here.

The probing was problematical for several reasons:
 o it probed the host headers, not the headers in the build or DESTDIR
   tree (could be fixed in another way)
 o the probe_ipv6 script mucks with PATH, which would be problematical
   for cross compilation.

simonb 9c747bda1e Fix the <ieeefp.h> problem a different way - nothing actually uses the 
contents of that header (the only file that includes it compiles to the
same object code on multiple architectures with or without including
<ieeefp.h>), so remove all references to it.

Fix sent to NTP maintainers - they will probably implement this change
after the immenient 4.1.0 release, but don't want to change it so close
to the release date.

default nis-domain "";

would cause a NULL pointer deref while writing out the lease into

XXX checkremote() should be improved.  gethostname -> getaddrinfo is
not the right thing to do, we cannot assume DNS FQDNs is configured
as hostname.  if the goal here is to check if it is really remote or not,
getifaddrs() is the way to go.

mrg dd28a6c6dd make scandir(3)'s 3rd argument take a function that takes a *const* 
struct dirent *, rather than non-const.  this makes scandir(3) the
same as the scandir implementations in libiberty and glibc, and the
select function has no need to modify the dirent.

hubertf f996345ebf Improve the last change. 
Handling all kinds of wildcards properly would be hard, though it should

work now.

hubertf 404096ac77 In the "quick depends pre-check" don't only try to replace anything 
after a "-" with the "more liberal pattern", but also anything after
any pkg wildcard.

That way if someone has teTeX-share-1.0 installed and pkg_adds
teTeX-1.0.7 (which wants teTeX-share>1.0.2), it will be caught.

XXX This "quick depends pre-check" would be nice to be done in
    bsd.pkg.mk as well

hubertf 0c2cdb98d9 * in pkg_add, before the "install dependencies" loop, check ALL 
dependencies if they _can_ be installed. I.e. if a package wants
   version X installed, but version Y is already installed, pkg_adding
   that required pkg will blow up later (probably some pkg_add recursions
   down, given what we keep in the depends list). Now, it stopps right
   away:

        noon# pkg_add /usr/pkgsrc/packages/i386ELF/All/xdaemon-1.0.tgz
        pkg_add: pkg `xteddy-1.*' required, but `xteddy-2.0.1' found installed.
        Please resolve this conflict!

   The idea of this is from Thomas Klausner, further inputs from Alistair
   Crooks.

 * allow pkg names without versions given to "pkg_admin check"
 * Use sizeof() instead of hardcoding the buffers' size in some places

itojun 548cc318ca do not try to use BIND4 code in libc. 
dig/host/whatever assumes that it is using BIND8 code.  mixing BIND4 in
libc with BIND8 code will result in very strange behavior, or program panics.

it is not necessary for dig/host/whatever to obey /etc/nsswitch.conf, actually
dig(1) is explicit about it.

now dist/bind is almost clean BIND822p5, with the following exception:
- /etc/irs.conf will never be visited when running BIND8 toolchain,
  to make it less complex.  the search order for BIND8 toolchain is
  defined in dist/bind/lib/irs/gen.c:default_map_rules().
and usr.sbin/bind compiles them in BSD make framework, with no tricks at all.

itojun 7b48263c7b (rcmd.c) to make Zoularis happier, pass sa_len separately from sockaddrs. 
this changes function prototype for __ivalid*.
This commit breaks binary compatibility for __ivalid*.  I believe this can be
forgiven due to the following:
- this is not really exported function.  no function prototype is in headers.
  function name starts with underbars.  No third-party applications are
  expected to use it.
- the function was introduced very recently, when rcmd.c was made IPv6-ready.
- the only customer in NetBSD tree is lpd.

(lpd.c) sync with rcmd.c change.

lukem 315a29d6de * in secure mode (-s), still open the inet sockets but do a shutdown(,SHUT_RD) 
on each of them, and don't bother listening on them. this allows messages
  to be forwarded even with -s enabled.

  XXX: not 100% sure if this is susceptable to a DoS, e.g someone filling
  up kernel buffers with a backlog of packets not being read, but shutdown(2)
  should prevent that even if it possibly doesn't at this time.

mjacob dcdf7ba2cd Fix rmt for use with Solaris 2.7 and others. The deal here is that for 
version 0 RMT protocol, the query of status makes no sense (send back, in
binary, the mtget structure), but systems sometimes use it anyway. And when
they use it, they get upset if they get back something that is a different
size from what they expect. The original mtget structure in BSD 4.3 is
24 bytes in size, and that seems to be what they can cope with.

The correct fix would be to go to Version 1 RMT, but that's a horse of
another color...

hubertf 549295852e -current's gcc seems to be a bit picky about using pointer-differences as 
args to the "*" of a printf "%*.*s" pattern. Add some casts to int.
(At least on NetBSD, ptrdiff_t is typedef'ed to int anyways)

sommerfeld 0cd03c86b4 Fix use of -I and -P at the same time by refactoring so there's only 
one set of code which knows how to resize the packet.
Report when we shrink MTU because of an EMSGSIZE return; fix
formatting to let this not look ugly.
Add a few likely MTU's to the table (1480 and 1280).

hubertf 764307a5a1 Keeping my kernel config files under RCS control, I always wished to 
have a way to embed the revision number into the kernel's "uname -v"
output. The patch below does this, by generating a new keyword "ident"
that can be followed by any string, e.g.

        ident   "NOON-$Revision$"

will lead to

This will lead to a version of "MYMACHINE-$Revision$" instead of the
kernel config file name. If "ident" is not present, the current behaviour
of using the kernel config file's name as identifier is used.

Implement by writing the ident to a file ("ident") in the compile dir,
which newvers.sh will pick up for generating the ident.

mycroft f5d7100e26 Nuke `extern int errno;' in code we compile with -Wstrict-prototypes. We get 
the correct definition from errno.h.

hubertf 9d0c5bb4ee FTP wildcard depends code, initial commit. 
Modulo some code cleanup, this gives NetBSD full wildcard support not
only in pkgsrc, but esp. for binary packages installed from local disk
